Wirtshaus Wolpertinger in Bad Kreuznach

We don't even know where to begin. 1. We were hotel guests, 2 nights with breakfast for €230. The rooms were like a haunted house: cobwebs, dirt, mold, even a previous guest's razor was lying on the mirrored wardrobe. 2. We were running late, so we decided to stay for dinner. The food was okay... if you like pre-made sauces and cold espresso. 3. Now comes the kicker: Breakfast: Feta cheese, nicely presented and garnished with dill, but that was it... it was moldy. I told the breakfast lady, and she said she would inform the kitchen. Up to that point, there was no apology or anything. In the evening, I spoke to the young man from the front of house and asked about the situation. He looked at me; of course, he knew nothing. After a while, he came and explained that it wasn't mold, but dill. 😬 I was a bit confused. I told him I was sorry, but I could tell the difference between dill and mold. Nothing further happened, so much for our stay at the Wolpertinger Hotel....We photographed everything.

Good home-style cooking and good value for money.

We stayed two nights at the hotel and had dinner there once. The room was a disaster for a hotel at that price. Moldy, unclean, and the mattress was more like something you'd find in a guest room at home. The restaurant itself is also in dire need of renovation. Moldy, unclean, and in need of renovation. The service was okay, but unfortunately, they couldn't take criticism. For example, the espresso was cold and didn't taste like coffee. The response: "It was from the machine." Food: Tastes vary, but the value for money was not good. The preparation and convenience products were questionable for the price. Breakfast was rather uninspired, and the value for money was also questionable. My complaint about the shiny feta cheese was dismissed. Nice table decorations. All in all, not really recommended.

We were only there for the food. We had two different schnitzels, one with fries and one with fried potatoes. Both were very tasty! The portions were ample. I felt the salad had little to no dressing. The service was very friendly and not pushy. We would go there again.

We ate at Wolpertinger twice because we really enjoy Swabian cuisine, including the schnitzels and steaks. The crispy fried potatoes and mushroom sauce were also good. Very tasty food and atmosphere!

We were there from Friday to Sunday. Following the manager's recommendation, we had porcini mushroom soup, goose liver, venison goulash, and goose leg. It was once again an absolute highlight of the restaurant. Thanks to the kitchen. We'll be back soon. 👍We'll be back again. Breakfast was an absolute feast with yogurt and many other variations, very filling. Thank you. We were at the Wolpertinger again over the weekend; the breakfast was a real eye-catcher and very tasty and fresh. In the evening, we had veal liver, something we haven't had in a long time. We'll be back. 😜🤗

The lady who served us was friendly and smiled. But the waiter/cook, whoever he was, placed the soup on the table without any enthusiasm, letting it spill over the table. We all looked at each other, not knowing what to say. Apparently, the man was having a bad day. The restaurant was in a nice location. The food was okay. Next time, though, I would choose a different restaurant in Bad Kreuznach.

The restaurant at the Wolpertinger Inn is located right on the Kornmarkt in Bad Kreuznach. It has a fantastic rooftop terrace overlooking the Nahe River. The food was excellent for all four of us, and the service was very friendly. Wolpertinger's house-brewed beer is delicious. The prices are reasonable. We'd be happy to come back. 👍

We ate at Wolpertinger a few days ago. Unfortunately, the quality has declined considerably. The vegetable patties were very small, and the dip was relatively small. The salad was wilted in some places, and the taste was so-so. The price was decent, though. The price is completely out of proportion. It's a shame!

We dined at the Wolpertinger again, as we have done for several years. The big advantage is the kitchen being open all day. Very pleasant, competent service, a good selection on the menu, and above all, as always, very tasty food with filling portions. Plus, a lovely rooftop terrace with a fantastic view. We look forward to next year at this pleasant restaurant.

We went there for lunch today, and it was truly delicious. We both had a schnitzel with fries and salad, a generous portion at a fair price, and the service was excellent. You can't complain about the place. The atmosphere on the roof terrace is also very nice.

Unfortunately, all three were way too salty. It's a real shame, because it was beautifully presented and would have definitely tasted good if they hadn't dropped the bucket of salt from their hands. :/

The four of us had a lovely evening on the beautiful terrace! The dishes on the menu all sounded very good, it was difficult to choose, and what we saw on other guests' plates looked very promising! Very delicious food and beer. I've eaten here several times and the food has always been delicious. I especially like the Steckerl-Wickel (snack wraps). The roof terrace is right on the Nahe River. I like going here. Reservations are a good idea, but they make every effort to ensure everyone gets a table. The staff is very attentive and friendly.

Super friendly staff and a lovely ambiance on the terrace. Delicious, high-quality German cuisine. I always enjoy my liver dumplings and veal liver there.

We ate there and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the high chair was very sticky and the floor was very dirty, two things that could be improved. The schnitzel was deep-fried, which I personally don't mind, and the potatoes were garnished with extra olive oil. This isn't that common in Germany, but it was definitely edible. A small play area would be desirable; there aren't enough restaurants with play areas in the area anyway; that would make the place stand out a bit.

May 17, 2025. We came here for dinner as a gay couple, as it was marked as LGBTQ friendly. The food was very good. The rooftop terrace was very pleasant. The service was friendly. We highly recommend the restaurant.

The food tasted very good, an overnight stay. However, we were rushed out of the room quite early because the agreement as to when our breakfast should take place had not been agreed with the service staff. We were warmly welcomed and the dog was given a bowl of water upon request. The food was delicious. Tagliatelle with mushrooms and cordon bleu.

Asparagus was blanched a little too briefly but was still good to eat. Price level was ok, as of April 2025. My husband had schnitzel with beer sauce and fried potatoes, with a salad. What was positive was that they weren't deep fryer schnitzels and the fried potatoes were actually fried and not fried to death as is so often the case. Thanks to the chef.

I stayed there overnight on business. Totally worn out and shabby room. The double bed was a joke. The bathroom old, unkempt, heating? None. I'm not coming anymore.

The price-performance ratio is not at all appropriate. We had schnitzel with onions, fried potatoes and a side salad. The breading of the schnitzel was a moist mass and the fried potatoes were mushy and soft. The salad was also just average. The food was too bad for the price. I was there last time.

The food looks absolutely delicious! The fried potatoes, fried until golden brown, look wonderfully crispy, and the schnitzel with the creamy mushroom cream sauce looks incredibly appetizing. The fine herbs give the dish a particularly appealing look. A real treat for the eyes and palate!

Not completely satisfied. The secretary [room 3] should be dusted. The mattresses have a large gap in the middle. No free parking spaces. The WiFi key should be available in the room. The room itself is old-fashioned. An information folder about the city would certainly be a benefit for those unfamiliar with the area.

We received excellent service and had a great seat overlooking the water and the bridge. Very nice and courteous staff. The inn is located right in the city center and is easy to reach. There are parking spaces in the parking garage. The rooms are a bit older but very clean. Breakfast was booked and plentiful. The food in the inn is tasty and the portions are appropriate for the price.

The food was very good, especially the pepper whiskey sauce is recommended here. Rarely have I had such a delicious sauce. The Wolpertinger beer is also very tasty. Personally, I've been here twice now just to eat (not an overnight stay) and would do it again and again. The price is absolutely right, the service is very good and the food is on the table very quickly.

As always when we are in KH, eating here is a must. It's delicious and the portions will fill you up. Nice and friendly service and everything very quickly. If we had to wait longer for food that wouldn't be a problem. We have been coming here regularly and irregularly for over fifteen years. Even though the owner has changed in the meantime, you can still get good food here at a fair price. We will continue to come back and look forward to it. As a tip for those who like to drink beer, you should try Wolpertinger naturally cloudy. It's worth it.

The service was the best in the restaurant. The food was a disappointment in terms of taste. The liver was over-fried and the fried potatoes were greasy and over-fried. I could have made the pasta dish with the mushroom sauce at home. My conclusion: The restaurant is not recommended.

Landlord is jealous of guest because unfortunately his partner looks more at a guest than at him! Therefore this guest has been banned from the house, people just go somewhere else please. You don't do that, self-confidence looks different!

The place is centrally located at the start of the pedestrianized shopping area of town. Everything was very clean, staff is very friendly, the room was tastefully furnished and well-equipped. My room was at the very top, which meant a lot of steep stairs, but very much worth the money. Heating did not work that well up there under the roof - but who spends much time in a hotel room anyway, when you only have one night's stay! ;-) Breakfast was prepared with much care, everything was fresh and perfectly timed. I would definitely recommend the Wolpertinger!

The food is ok, unfortunately the portions are small and the prices are totally exorbitant. Over 22 euros for a schnitzel with fries and salad, even in Mainz you pay LESS in many restaurants. So we were disappointed and won't go there again.

Incredible. We were there for lunch. While we were eating, a dog came into the dining room and urinated on the chair. When we wanted to pay directly, there was also an open can of dog food on the counter. Once and never again.

I can't rate the rooms because we only had something to drink. The staff at the inn are extremely friendly. An employee was criticized in a very unfriendly and unworthy manner in the presence of the guests. Considering that good employees are difficult to find in the service sector, one should question such an approach. Criticism is certainly necessary sometimes, but not in such a condescending manner.

Our meal was a huge letdown. Venison goulash 28 euros. 3 pieces of meat, cheap red cabbage from a jar and ready-made dumplings. The whole thing was served ice cold. Doesn't work at all. You had to look for my baked potato under the sour cream. Getting full is not an option. Repeat factor 0%

We had a very nice and cozy evening here in the Wolpertinger with 3 couples. The food and drinks were very good. Can be recommended.

This location is located directly between the Kornmarkt and the Mühlenteich in the center of Bad Kreuznach. The interior is rather classic and somewhat colorful. A well-positioned restaurant with a nice view, as long as you can sit at the outer row of windows - ... we were able to! The dishes on the daily menu at the entrance looked very inviting. We decided on 2 dishes advertised there; The vegetable broth with Maultaschen was ok. The veal liver with onions and fried potatoes I ordered didn't convince me. The liver was too soft, the fried potatoes were as soft as potato pancakes and a sauce in which the liver was swimming was actually unnecessary and also too salty. The price-performance ratio was still just acceptable.

Good atmosphere with decent and sufficient food. The only drawback are the toilets with unpleasant smells and loose taps.

Spontaneously decided to eat here. I ordered the Brauhaus Schnitzel. The small side salad was okay. The fried potatoes were more like stewed potatoes, totally mushy. But the taste is quite good. The two small schnitzels were too firm in terms of meat for me or they would have to change the knives. The beer sauce was okay. All in all, the food wasn't that special.

The whole inn has a rustic, cozy flair. The rooms are not the most modern, but they fit the overall ambience perfectly! The staff was very nice, friendly and accommodating from start to finish, the highlight was the dinner (daily menu) you just have to say: super tasty, big praise to the kitchen! Ideal location if you want to see something of the city, located directly at the bridge houses, which is definitely worth a visit. All in all, we were completely satisfied!
