People used to enjoy eating here and the food was good. We ordered a Caprese (tomato and mozzarella with arugula and basil pesto, €12) as a starter. We got 4 slices of mozzarella, 4 slices of tomato, and 2 leaves of oak leaf lettuce. No arugula, no pesto, no cutlery. When we dared to ask, we were told they were out of arugula and pesto. No alternative offer, no price reduction, or apology, just insulted looks. We sent the Caprese back. My side salad consisted mostly of arugula. The same was true of the garnishes on the dishes served to neighboring tables. My rump steak was not rare-medium, but well done. Despite canceling the braised onions, I got braised onions and a hazelnut-sized piece of herb butter. Side dishes are extra. €25 for rump steak + €5 for the side salad. The waitress didn't even look us in the face, didn't ask if everything else was okay, and rudely informed us that the gourmet voucher would no longer be valid starting next week due to a change in management. Now we know where we won't be eating anymore.

We ate there twice during our stay on the Lahn. The service was always very good. Friendly and attentive. The food was very good.

Not recommended. We're always on assembly and were sent away yesterday, the kitchen was supposed to be open until 9 a.m. Today we walked 1 km in 8:15 and were told the kitchen was closed. Besides, the schnitzels were much better three years ago, and they also came with fried potatoes. You don't treat guests like that, shame on yourselves... So it's beyond terrible. We'll never be back.

We discovered this restaurant through the Schlemmerblock magazine and made a reservation, as we had business in Bad Kreuznach. The place is cozy, the staff very friendly and accommodating, and the food is homely. A definite recommendation—we'll be happy to return.

Friendly restaurant and good food at reasonable prices.

Cozy and rustic ambiance. The staff is friendly and attentive. I ordered the turkey breast with rosemary potatoes, and it tasted great. Unfortunately, the cheese spaetzle weren't good at all. It had hardly any flavor and came with a strange cheese sauce. Hence, one star deducted.

Very, very tasty food, super friendly service. Ambience is a matter of taste, of course, but we found it very nice :) We'd be happy to come back anytime.

Nachdem es bei einem anderen Restaurant nicht geklappt hat, weil dieses geschlossen hatte, bin ich nun hier gelandet. Ich hatte mich für das Zigeunerschnitzel entschieden und bat den Kellner darum, dieses etwas schärfer zu machen. Leider hat der Koch das wohl falsch verstanden. Der Schnitzel war so scharf. Es war kaum essbar. Zudem war es relativ klein. Aber der Kellner hat sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben. Von daher war das noch okay.

The purest disappointment! Never again! We were there in the afternoon. Except for two tables outside, all tables (inside and outside) were free. We chose a table inside and sat down. A moderately friendly restaurateur came up to us and said that the indoor area was not open. When the temperature outside was 15 degrees, we had the choice of sitting outside or walking. Meanwhile, the restaurateur turned around, went outside and continued eating his meal. We then decided on the right one and left. After 30 years of gastronomy, this was by far the most outrageous treatment we have ever experienced. It is all the more regrettable that this behavior was not displayed by a young, inexperienced temporary waiter, but rather by the operator himself or someone who held a responsible position there. At this point, good luck in continuing to survive in these tough times!

As always, this was a delight for my taste buds. The grill plate was as good as always. I would be happy to come back. The ambience and friendliness of the employees was perfect, especially from the boss.

We were here at the end of December last year. I used to really enjoy going to the Krone. Good food and Kirner beer. That was our last visit. Even though there was nothing going on except for another table on the ground floor, we were placed on the third floor. Service took forever. The next disappointment came with the food. The schnitzel was way too small and burnt. With all of us. The fries couldn't save it either. And that for 20 (!) Euros. We would have liked to drink a second or third wheat beer afterwards, but as often as the conditions looked like we would have died of thirst by then if we hadn't taken the initiative ourselves. The ambience is of course beyond question. A beautiful restaurant in terms of appearance. Unfortunately no longer recommended! Too expensive for too little performance.

Simply delicious! The steak was cooked to perfection, wonderfully juicy and refined with a great herb butter. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right. Plus a beautiful presentation on the plate – a real taste experience! I'll definitely come back. Clear recommendation!”

Vier verschiedene Gerichte: Sülze m Bratkartoffeln: sehr schön auf dem Holzbrett angerichtet und gut. Salat: gutes Dressing. Tagliatelle m. Feta-Tomaten-Weißweinsosse gut, dürfte etwas kräftiger gewürzt sein. Rumpsteak auf den Punkt, Beilagen top. Doradenfilet zart, Rosmarinkartoffeln gut. Spätzle mit Rahmsoße: zum „neisetze“. Die Speisen kamen auf warmen Tellern, aufmerksamer freundlicher Service! Bier-Nachbestellung ging ratz-fatz. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und kommen wieder. Einzig: Nur Barzahlung möglich-das sollte man vorher kommunizieren.

Very nice service in a cozy restaurant. Good tarte flambée, good cheese spaetzle.

First of the food was pretty good and there was a really solid selection on the menu. The atmosphere was good, but it good very loud quickly. The staff was very friendly but the food took quite a while and then sadly wasn’t as hot as i would have liked.

We were guests at the Krone yesterday and can't recommend it more. The vegetables for the rump steak were soaked in oil, the rosemary potatoes became rosemary fried potatoes. But the size of the non-airy veal schnitzel was a joke. And that for a crisp €24. At the next table someone at least had two small pork schnitzels for €12. So with the best will in the world I can't imagine that veal costs four times as much... 5€ drink prices are also very steep. Too expensive for average food, especially when you go home half hungry for €30 worth of food. Service was ok. But they weren't asked whether they could have anything else or whether the food was tasty.

The ambience was okay for an old inn, the service was quick and friendly too. Unfortunately not the food, it was clearly too expensive for what was offered, both in terms of quantity and taste and not appropriate for the price.

Hello, We were here again yesterday after almost 12 months and unfortunately found that the experience of the previous year was repeated. 1. Half the ticket is excluded with the gourmet block (it was never mentioned before and is not on the voucher). 🤔 2. The reservation did not exist even though it was made by telephone almost 8 weeks before the visit. 3. A lot of convenience products in use (dumplings, spaetzle, etc.). 4. The service is rather average, as is the taste of the food. 😕🙁 All in all, this was our last visit. It's actually a shame because the location is very nice...

The dishes are largely passable, however I have to remove a star for the waiter who tells us at the entrance "no cash", when he ultimately meant "no card". Without the 15 minutes to go to the nearest distributor I might have wanted to talk about the flavors of rump steak.

The food was very good. But if you want to eat with the Schlemmerblock, the owner reduces the selection on the menu. I don't think it's fair and I've never experienced this at any other restaurant. I also think it's a shame that parts of the oldest inn in Bad Kreuznach have become quite modern after the interior was renovated. The original charm is scratched.

That was a complete disaster! After the Christmas market we stopped in for a good home-style meal and we really fell for it! The food is only lukewarm not fresh. Even though I asked, the mushrooms were canned. At that price I would expect something different. I don't have to understand why, if you ask explicitly, false claims are still made☹️ In this price segment I expect something different‼️ The ambience is quite nice, the service is a disaster, unprofessional and not attentive‼️‼️ You have the feeling as if Only profit can be made here Bad Kreuznach clearly has better things to offer. Unfortunately we were just there otherwise we would have chosen another restaurant😬

Price performance poor. For the price you can expect to get a fresh schnitzel and not a Tk schnitzel. Fries not salted and very little for the price. Soss was the highest a 1 tablespoon. For us it was the first and last time.

Pure rip off!!! The staff wasn't really friendly and just rushed. At the beginning we told the staff that we had a gourmet block and this was also heard by the staff. The food was really a disaster. The burger we ordered consisted of pure ready-made products, and the fries simply tasted like fat. The veal schnitzel for €24 was very small and only tasted like a deep fryer. When we paid we also showed the gourmet block. We were then told that this should have been said before, which we did, and that it would no longer be possible. We then had a conversation with the boss, who also said that this had to be said right at the beginning and that he couldn't change anything about it now. Even though we showed the Schlemmerblock at the very beginning, we had to pay the full price. According to the staff at the gourmet block, not all of the dishes are available because otherwise it would be too expensive for them. Another table had the same problem. The people in Schlemmerblock also showed it at the very beginning and had it on the table and the staff said that was never said and the people got very upset. We will definitely not recommend the restaurant and will never go there again. Pure rip off!

Das "Wiener Schnitzel" für immerhin 24 E kommt ohne Beilagen. Beilagen kosten nochmal 5,50 E was mehr als happig ist für ölige Rosmarinkartoffeln. Das Essen kommt auf kalten Tellern. Wir würden im zugigen Eingangsbereich platziert, weil oben alles reserviert sei. Nach 1 Stunde war immernoch niemand gekommen. Echter Nepp und unprofessionell. Nie mehr.

Nice atmosphere, but in my opinion the price-performance ratio isn't right. The side dishes for the schnitzel or steak are charged individually. I think a portion of spaetzle for 7 euros, fries for 4.50 euros, and a side salad for 4.80 euros is excessive.

The food was good, but unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we were seated at a table that looked more like a side table in the passage, which didn't exactly contribute to a nice atmosphere for an evening for two. In addition, the service seemed quite sloppy; for example, the wrong whiskey was poured and we had to ask for sugar for the coffee. We also felt a little like we were intruding, which was just overall unpleasant. Card payment didn't work either - at least that evening - so we had to pay via Paypal. The evening could have been very nice at a different table and with slightly more attentive service.

The atmosphere is very cozy. Unfortunately, the service doesn't make an effort and communicates little or no communication at all. The food tastes more like “from the bag” and the quantity is not enough if you are very hungry. Dishes are not brought to the guest as it says on the menu - components are simply missing. Very unfortunate and not worth the price.

If you like sauces and dried spaetzle (for an additional 7 euros!!!), you've come to the right place. The service was subpar.

Dad Lokal is very attractively designed. The meals were inadequate in size. A palm-sized cordon bleu for €15 would be okay if you didn't have to buy the side dish of salad or fries for €5... You can purchase spaetzle from the bag for €7. We didn't notice any service.

A very nice house in the so-called Neustadt, which is actually the old town. Very well-kept rustic atmosphere with a modern touch. Very structured menu with the food. We had veal schnitzel. The food was very good. The drink selection too. The service was very good. The boss is very personable. We'll be back

Unfortunately, my mother had the same experience as the Latrine Late review describes. You don't have to say anything more about it, just that you wanted to speak to the boss and the boss denied himself...

It wasn't really freshly prepared. The food came within 10 minutes. Spaetzle Schnitzel Steak etc. Everything tasted lukewarm and reheated. If you're expecting good German home cooking, you're not in good hands here; you'll be better served in any chip shop. Waiter very nice. Food mediocre/poor.

We are dissatisfied!!! After making an agreement over the phone that we could sit upstairs, we were not allowed to do so on the day of arrival even though the entire upper floor was empty. When we asked, an unfriendly young lady told us that it wasn't up to the guests to decide where to sit. Portions were small and prices were way too high. Schnitzel 14€ but without all the side dishes, fries and salad cost another 12€. The taste was average. We're never coming back.

We ate there this evening. A (to us) quiet atmosphere for a brewery in a beautiful half-timbered house. The service was friendly, the food was delicious. However, the prices for the good home-style dishes are relatively high, especially for the side dishes (Spätzle 7 euros!).

Nice ambience. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right. The food was okay, but nothing special. It seems to me that ready-made products are occasionally used. The service was partly very nice and good, but we were rushed and treated unfriendly when checking out. It should be noted that we had to collect the cash because the card reader wasn't working that day. This also upset other guests.

We wanted to eat there on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. because the restaurant says hot food all the time. The tables were set outside, but no staff could be found. Then we went back at 4:30 p.m., same game. Everything was locked too.

Wir waren auf der Durchreise und haben hier zu Abend gegessen. Wir hatten einen Burger und ein Paprikaschnitzel Das Essen kam schnell aber war leider nicht besonders. Geschmacklich eher kaum gewürzt. Auch gab es keinen einzigen deutschsprachigen Mitarbeiter, nicht in der Küche und auch nicht im Service. Insgesamt also leider eher nur durchschnittlich.

Absolutely disappointing experience. The waitress looks right through you, you can literally look through their eyes at the back of their heads. Understand absolutely nothing. They kept the table next to us free for over an hour - supposedly reserved, even though we had reserved for seven people. One of us was then allowed to squeeze herself against the head of the table. Really, I never really complain. But that is really total unprofessionalism. The fact that I have to pay €7.50 for water from the tap tops it all off.

You have to eat here. Great and friendly service, not too big a menu and delicious food. Just go and try it out for yourself.

I was really looking forward to this dinner after we took a short break there at lunchtime the day before and the service was super nice and the dishes on offer made me want to eat. Unfortunately for free. First we called twice and asked for a call back because the website recommends reservations. According to the internet, it's open all day, but the waitress said we called during our lunch break. Oh well. There were 2 guests outside and we sat down at a nice table. In the meantime two more guests arrived and told the waitress that they had reserved for three but there were only two. They then had to sit at the 2nd of 3 tables for 2. Then the waitress came to us and wanted us to sit down at the third table for two. Because the larger tables are needed. We didn't want this and were then directed to a small bistro table. Completely unsuitable for eating. When we got our drinks the 4th couple arrived. They sat down at a larger table since nothing was reserved And were allowed to do so. My friend was now a bit annoyed and we said we would like to sit at a proper table. We were then offered the intermediate table again. Long story short, we just sat down at a proper table. The food was a disgrace. The pork medallion was totally dry and I think the €7.00 price tag for the spaetzle side dish was very sporty. My friend's cordon bleu was half burned on the top and completely burned on the bottom. Reaction. I'll pass it on. It's a shame, once again I had the feeling you could do anything with the tourists. P.S. By the time we left, no group of four arrived.

Not recommended! Schlemmerblock rip-off, burnt schnitzel and curdled sauce for the fish. Because we only mentioned the gourmet block at the end of our order, we were not allowed to redeem it later. However, staff did not clearly communicate this to us. When we asked whether we could cancel the order and place it again under the premise Schlemmerblock, we received no answer. The service employee simply ran away. So we assumed that it would still work. It hasn't been a problem in other restaurants so far. Later, to our great surprise, we had to pay the full price. Staff didn't let anyone talk to them. No accommodation or flexibility from the boss. Instead, there are flimsy excuses that it's the cash register system and the strict gourmet block rules. What a crap! We feel ripped off and ripped off. It's sad that money is more important to this restaurant than happy customers and a good review. We can definitely not recommend the Restaurant Krone: lousy service and poor quality food. The schnitzel was burnt and dry, the sauce curdled into the fish. It's a shame about valuable food!

The food was really great and so were the drinks. Unfortunately we had a place near the entrance door and it was very drafty. I also found the extra charge of €2.50 for some sauce to be very expensive. Otherwise I can only recommend it.

The crown is in the pub/pedestrian zone. Opposite is the great Bella Italia restaurant, next door is the iconic Holzwurm. You have to offer quality to be able to last that long. It does. Lots of reservations for the evening, menu promising. Nice bar interior on the ground floor. The Krone is said to be the oldest inn in the city of Bad Kreuznach. The beautiful half-timbered house has space for guests on three floors. Pleasant service, but also the continuous opening times, even if the chef is sometimes not there at lunchtime during the week. There is plenty of opportunity outside to observe the “Bella figura” creators strolling past.

Food was very tasty. Fried potatoes are simply great! Same with the homemade lemonade. Service was good, courteous and very friendly. The atmosphere inside was cozy, outside you sit too close to the person next to you, but that's up to you. It could have been a little cleaner as far as the chairs are concerned.

Delicious food, good presentation and not overly expensive. Antipasti plate was very nice, so was the main and the dessert. The waiters are kind, but at times we struggled to place orders as they were not always around or only checked on one table and left.

Oldest restaurant in Bad Kreuznach. Spread over 3 floors. Went here for the first time today (Easter Sunday 4/9/23) with the in-laws. I really felt sorry for the service staff. 3 floors!!!! And even though all the seats were occupied, everything went smoothly. Craziness! Price performance is right. The only reason we deducted a star is because we found the map a bit "narrow and boring". Otherwise really recommended. Ps: little tip: You can park easily at the VFL hall. Then it's another 4 minutes walk to the Krone.

Unfortunately we couldn't rate the food... After half an hour of waiting and several requests to order drinks, we left.

We had reserved a table when we were there, it was around 6:30 p.m. and we were told that we had to vacate the table at 8 p.m. because a large group was coming to eat. But we could then go downstairs (everything there was occupied). It would have been nice to point this out to us when making the reservation. The service person said that we could do it and always with a smile on her face. Ordered, food a quarter of an hour later. It was like an assembly line. Unfortunately, the comfort was lost at the back. We are used to something different from this restaurant. A pity! For a mushroom cream schnitzel with fries 17.90, a small side salad 4.90 is already a house number. Thank God we had the gourmet block and were able to save on a meal.

We were there with 12 people. Everyone was absolutely thrilled with the food, ambience and service. We can unreservedly recommend this restaurant to everyone. It was simply outstanding and we will definitely come back.

Service könnte freundlicher sein

Great historic building that was recently renovated and is now used as a restaurant. Once you've made it past the unfriendly receptionist (he leafs through his reservation book for a long time to see if there's still room for us since we didn't reserve and then leads us to the completely empty upper floor), you get to the really beautiful interior. The kitchen had just opened and unfortunately served dishes that tasted like old fat and a salad that only had a tomato in it alongside lots of cheap greens. Unfortunately, the three service employees who were at our table didn't even manage to smile and gave us the impression that we were disturbing us. It's a shame, because the atmosphere is really nice and they serve great beer.

Bei der Suche in Internet sind wir auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen. Die Bewertungen machten einen guten Eindruck. Darauf hin haben wir einen Tisch reserviert. Leder war es bei unserer Ankunft im Restaurant doch recht kühl und der zugewiesenen Tisch direkt am Tresen. Die Bedienung kam recht schnell um die erste Bestellung aufzunehmen. Alles weitere ging dann recht zügig. Das Essen war insgesamt in Ordnung und die Preise aktuell angemessen.
