Trying to find where I really wanted to go with the hopelessly confusing map apps, I ended up here which was on the list. Excellent service, but the food was just fairly ordinary reallynothing to write home about. Although I did discover that the German wine on their list was quite drinkable because I had been looking for a restaurant which had a wine bar attached to it, and which I assumed would have an excellent variety of wines to drink, so not too bad don’t run away, but there might be better places around

Great service at the table, great food and delicious beer. Overall a nice experience. There is a star deduction for the impossible spot on the Weiser with the gray hair at the entrance. The guy really didn't work.

Ich bin zum ersten Mal in dieser wunderschönen Stadt und diesem Wirtshaus gewesen. Gegessen habe ich Sauerfleisch mit Klößen und Rotkohl. Der Wirt hat mir noch ein leckeres Bier dazu empfohlen. Ich muss zugeben, dass dieses Abendessen eines meiner besten war. Und wissen muss man, dass ich sehr gerne Sauerfleisch esse. 5 Sterne für ein sehr gutes Essen mit leckerem Bier.

So good food! When we are passing through and are in the area, we always go into town to eat here. Affordable and good quality, friendly staff and always enough.

Good Schäufele and nice beer garden!

I've been in the winter and the summer having visited the area for work. Brilliant in all seasons. We made a special effort to come back and we visited two evenings in a row. Simple yet delicious food. Always busy but service is quick. In the winter we sat inside and it's cosy and traditional. In the summer we sat outside and it's a great place to enjoy the great weather and people watch. My favourite dish is the sausages, sauerkraut and mash potato. Service all super friendly.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich, wir wurden zügig bedient und das Essen kam ohne große Wartezeit. Der Schäufele Burger war mir zu salzig, der typische Schäufele-Geschmack kam nicht durch und auch das Burger-Brötchen war „lätschig“ auf gut fränkisch. Ich würde das nicht mehr bestellen. Bei den Bratwürsten haben wir den Verdacht, dass die Röstzwiebeln meliert waren, da bei meiner Frau allergische Reaktionen auftraten, obwohl bei dem Gericht kein Gluten als Allergen vermerkt war. Vielleicht hatten wir einfach nur Pech.

I came because of the recommendations here. Disappointment. The food is street buffet quality. Schnitzel is thawed and not fully cooked (I had to return it to wait for a new one). Ravioli is cold on the inside (probably heated). In short, if you care about what you put in your body, give up on this place.

Great service, food and drinks were there immediately after ordering. The food was very, very good and the selection had something for everyone. Delicious beers and cellar beer was also very tasty. All around a perfect visit!

Beer garden with fast, friendly service. Food (roast pork) was good. You don't have to have Schäufele for over 23 euros. Beer super tasty. Perfect for a nice evening with friends without expecting star cuisine. We would come back.

Leider eine furchtbare Erfahrung. 'Wir haben 10 Minuten auf eine Bedienung gewartet. Damit kann man leben. Allerdings nicht wenn 5 Kellner rauchend auf der Treppe stehen und sich noch lustig darüber machen ,dass man bestellen möchte. Der Gipfel war dann die Empfehlung wir sollten doch zu McDonalds gehen ,wenn wir es eilig hätten. Man muss sich heute einiges gefallen lassen in der Gastronomie, das war uns dann aber doch zuviel

Friendly - good value for money

A typical Franconian inn with tasty, home-style Franconian food and still reasonable prices. Nice beer garden in the middle of the city. I can recommend it!

We were there today, on a Saturday afternoon, 6 of us plus the baby. We wanted to sit down and have a nice drink. We didn't have a reservation and were allowed to stay for an hour (we communicated from the start that we just wanted a drink). The “friendly” lady at the entrance and the waitress, both totally unfriendly, snotty and absolutely NOT child-friendly. The baby cried for a moment because he was tired, but after a short time fell asleep in the car. A child knocked over a glass at the neighboring table, and here too everyone was visibly and loudly annoyed. As a mother, I found my presence with my child to be disturbing, which was confirmed to us as we were leaving, we were insulted loudly and clearly: “always these children” “just want a drink” “there wasn’t even a tip”. Yes, I know, everyone there was already grown up and born annoyed. And - as I said - we said from the start that we just wanted to have a drink, I don't pay a single cent of tip for such "service" and I'm never thrifty here. But I've never experienced anything like this, 0 stars are already too much Once and never again! And to all parents: leave it alone and go somewhere else!

Very nice beer garden. That's why we chose the inn. Service that takes the drinks is friendly. When the food came, unfortunately the exact opposite. We were very bored with food and slapped down carelessly. I had to ask if I could get ketchup with the fries. However, these were very good, which cannot be said about the burger bun. Selling this sloppy thing as a rustic burger bun is a disgrace! But meat was again very good. All in all, ok, but not worth a second visit.

Nice Franconian restaurant with a great beer garden. Again any time.

The portion is moderate, rather small for a brewery. The taste is okay but a lot of convenience. The finished mashed potatoes still had lumps of powder, three narrow slices of roast pork... The waitress makes you wait forever, tries to force a tip and is offended when there isn't one. There isn't anything better in the area.

The food was very tasty, the sauce was strong and had a perfect consistency. With the Schäufele this could have been a little crispier on one half. But it was very, very tasty. The service was very busy. That's why he was always very short. The atmosphere was typically Franconian and cozy and we also met some nice people that evening

A really great Franconian restaurant with excellent food and friendly service. I can particularly recommend the Schäufele or the Schäufele Burger, best served with a delicious portion of crispy fries. We felt very comfortable here and the hospitality was really great. We would happily eat here again at any time. Clear recommendation for a visit. Sitting outside was of course a very special highlight in the beautiful weather.

Yesterday we were in Würzburg for a day and happened to come across the Lämmle inn. Really very good food at good prices, great ambience and top service.

Rustic restaurant right on the market square/center and, thanks to its location behind the Lady Chapel, a very tranquil opportunity... with a beer garden, right next to the church - great ambience. The staff was friendly, quick and helpful and informed even with special requests/food allergies. Delicious food with large portions 😋... absolutely recommended!

Tourist check-in meal of the better kind (at least at lunchtime on the terrace. No highlight cuisine but reasonably priced. Very attentive and friendly waitress. You can stop off while strolling through the city

Additional experience from yesterday (April 22, 2024, at lunchtime): In short, it was a disappointment. I'm sharing my experience in German in the hope that yesterday's waitress reads this review. The restaurant was very busy at lunchtime yesterday. My girlfriend and I were in a bit of a rush as we only had a little over an hour. Other tables had barely received their orders and only had drinks. I was worried that our meal might take a long time. When we went to order, my friend looked at the waitress, but she just waved her hand at her, similar to how you tell a dog to stop, like "stop." The waitress didn't even look at her or give any verbal instructions. This was very annoying as she only resorted to non-verbal communication. Furthermore, I misunderstood the description of a schnitzel while ordering. Since I don't eat onions and peppers, I wanted to order the mushroom schnitzel without peppers. However, there was no paprika in the sauce anyway. The description was for Lämmle-Schnitzel. But mistakes can happen. I politely asked if I could order the mushroom schnitzel without peppers. The waitress replied curtly with a “No!” without giving any explanation and sounded very authoritarian. After all, she is there to serve the guests, not to dominate them. I think she misunderstood her role. Afterwards I politely asked how long it would take. Her answer was a simple “I don’t know,” and she just walked away during the conversation and didn’t look at me either. It was very disrespectful. I don't want to assume that her behavior was because of our Asian heritage, but it was hard not to take it personally. I have lived in Germany for 8 years and know the feeling. We were the only Asians in the restaurant. The atmosphere in the restaurant was a bit weirder than last time. And I think she is unfriendly to every guest. Because the guests somehow weren't relaxed and were paying attention to our conversations. But for us she was a little more unfriendly and clearly disrespectful. I cannot accept her behavior. It was my lunch break and I was looking forward to a delicious meal. In the end, I also pay part of their salary. The catering industry cannot function without guests. Her behavior was outrageous. I canceled my order immediately and will never visit this restaurant again. It was the worst experience I've ever had in Würzburg. There are numerous other good restaurants here. The boss should look into this matter and make sure it doesn't happen again. I don't know how she can work like that. Is she herself the boss or family? Nevertheless, both are unacceptable. Before, the waitress here was very professional and wore traditional clothes. This time the two waitresses were wearing normal clothes and neither were professional. - I love to eat Schäufele and mushroom cream schnitzel in Wirtshaus Lämmle. The schnitzel here is overall better quality and tastes healthier and less greasy than the ones at other restaurants. I felt like I was eating homemade food. They also have a big and beautiful terrace too, which is perfect for drinking beer. The staff were professional whenever I visited. But the portion of schnitzel has definitely gotten smaller than last year.. I was a bit disappointed 🥲

Nice atmosphere, good food and the prices are still reasonable. I have spent so many wonderful hours there with my family in the past that I don't want to miss at all.

Unfortunately very disappointed. Had sauerbraten and wedding dinner. Meat was good for both, the rest was okay. Horseradish wasn't spicy in the slightest, potatoes were completely overcooked, meat was completely drowned in "horseradish sauce". Sauerbraten, sauce not at all sour, red cabbage over-seasoned with Christmas flavor. At the end the waitress pointed out that there is NO tip when paying by card...

Not what it used to be... I used to enjoy going to Lämmle but apparently the menu has been revised now. This time we decided on the pulled Schäufele burger and fish and chips. The burger sounded very promising but unfortunately the taste was very disappointing. The pork popcorn was so small and little that you couldn't taste any of it. The country beer onions were also quite tasteless. What amazed me most was how you can't make a good coleslaw, actually a classic. Fish and chips fries very tasty, fish only 3 small pieces for 15 euros... our little one had toiletries with sauce but he didn't like it. The sauce was actually not good. Beer garden is really very nice. Service quite slow but nice.

A clocky restaurant, really Franconian, with a great garden and particularly good beer. The Kellerbier was worth trying. Very nice service, traditional dishes but there is also something for travelers. When things get hectic the food isn't a bit cold, but still - I came back because of the great, hospitable atmosphere.

The Wirtshaus Lämmle is a good place to go for a delicious meal. It's best to reserve in advance during high season. Otherwise you can always get a seat before 6 p.m. I ordered Maultaschen and they tasted really good. The prices were also reasonable. It's very nice to sit outside. I can only recommend the restaurant. But my review is already two years old. I don't understand why Google has reinstated my rating. Now I had to rephrase it a little and it still says that it violates the rights. I can't understand

Yesterday we were at the Lämmle Wirtshaus for the first time and definitely not the last time. The food is Franconian through and through, just like the ambience. The service was very quick and we had our food on the table in less than 10 minutes and it was simply delicious.
