Wirtshaus Lämmle in Würzburg

I was there on a Saturday lunchtime. There is good home cooking, I opted for the sauerbraten. The roast itself was good, but the sauce was very watery with fat and no taste. The dumplings were very small, for the price of almost €20 I wouldn't order them again. The cobwebs have collected in the window sills, generally very rustic there. The service was ok considering it was so busy.

The food was very disappointing. We wanted to eat lamb, which used to always be on the menu. They took them out because it apparently didn't work. I then ate sauerbraten which was as firm as rubber. My partner ate schnitzel that was tough, the sauce didn't taste good at all and the fries were cold. Then there are also exorbitant prices. Too bad...

Good food but lacks a bit of love. It came out extremely quickly, which is good, but it wasn't really hot and was probably already ready for the next order of rum. Otherwise look nice and nice staff. However, there could be one more person working outside, so you had to wait a while to order and receive the bill.

Beautiful restaurant with absolutely perfect food. The paprika schnitzel tastes heavenly, as does the dark beer. Service is also perfect. Unreservedly recommended!

Although we couldn't make a reservation, the three of us got a place on Friday evening. Exactly, jam-packed. The service was very nice, courteous and had a sense of humor. Once again a ray of hope. The food (roast pork and sauerbraten) came quickly and was a poem. The map is well sorted. Good Franconian cuisine. Radler and Kellerbier were also delicious. You won't be forced to make room after your meal and you can have a relaxed conversation. Due to rain in the restaurant. Outdoor area available. The restaurant is partially barrier-free. I can only recommend it.

Friendly reception. Ambiance and food “good middle class”. Schäufele with crispy crust + cabbage & dumplings very tasty! Light sausages are unfamiliar to us in terms of consistency and mild flavor, so we're not "enthusiastic", but the quality is top! New to the range: cloudy non-alcoholic shandy; we were excited about it. Service from Lore(e?)n: very quick, clever and friendly. What we couldn't eat on site, she lovingly packaged creatively and solidly for us. Thanks again for that! "Biergarten" offers plenty of seating and is sheltered behind the church on the market square, easy to reach/find... yet not secluded. Just because of Lore(e?)n... who took the time to give tips and photos... we'd love to come back!

Excellent service, affordable price, and freshly baked shoulder in gravy, fingers to eat together with the roast.

We actually just wanted to EAT a little something. We then decided on the Schäuferle. It came quickly, with two dumplings, and extra sauce could easily be ordered. It was plenty and with a hangover you die a little bit afterwards.

A real inn in the middle of the "old town". Great atmosphere, excellent cuisine. Particularly noteworthy are the local specialties such as Schäufelchen, Franconian bratwurst and roast in delicious beer sauce. All in all, a successful tavern concept far away from any new style dining boutique. Keep it up.

Uncharming mass processing. The food was ok or as good as typical German/Franconian gets. Above all, it was on the table in less than 5 minutes - that means something.

Lovely, cozy atmosphere on a rainy day. We enjoyed everything we ate, including the potato soup, currywurst, and cheese spatzle.

Tasty food, good value for money. By taking advantage of every free space, there is unrest and hecticness due to the high fluctuation, which speaks more of a quick meal and drink than a cozy get-together.

Last night we went to the Garden Restaurant for dinner and ordered Lämmle Schnitzel. We enjoyed it very much but unfortunately there were so few fries that we needed another portion to fill us up.

If you're in a hurry to eat, this is the right place. Otherwise not recommended, you feel like you're in a fast food restaurant

Very friendly and efficient service. The food was delicious and served quickly. We weren't inside, just in the restaurant garden. It was calm and atmospheric. We will definitely come back.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal in Würzburg und freuten uns auf leckere fränkische Küche. Im Lämmle wurden wir enttäuscht. Schäufele und Sauerbraten waren völlig geschmacksbefreit, die Kartoffelklösse kamen wohl aus der Packung. Der Service war ziemlich gelangweilt - aber immerhin schnell und korrekt. Schade für eine schöne Location, die mehr versprochen hat.

The food was very tasty and came after a short wait. Overall only four stars because the waitresses, apart from the usher, were unfortunately in a bad mood and listless.

Went to the Lämmle inn today to get something to eat. After waiting 20 minutes, we spoke to the first waitress in a friendly manner and asked if we could order. The lady turned around sulkily and said “Nope”. When we said “excuse me?” there was a louder “no”. Shortly afterwards the lady came back and said annoyed that the colleague was responsible. When we then spoke to a second colleague in a friendly manner, he also reacted quite irritably and said “my colleague will come when he has time, can’t you see what’s going on here?!”. His tone was irritable and inappropriate. When the responsible colleague came after about 25-30 minutes and we spoke to him, he also reacted very annoyed and said “I'll come when I have time, one thing at a time”. We then got up and left the restaurant. The employee shouted after us that he didn't care. It's a shame, I used to love being here. We fully understand that this job is stressful and it is easy to get stressed. However, I don't think it's right to let your bad mood out on your guests and be so snippy or cheeky with guests.

I always like to eat schnitzel here, with a salad and the sauce is absolutely delicious :)

Delicious food in a nice atmosphere.

Nice, rustic restaurant right away from the market square. It was almost exclusively locals there and there was home-style Franconian home cooking. That's exactly what we wanted and got. They are super nice and accommodating and very fond of children. It was really tasty and recommended.

Pork schnitzel was really bad, not crispy at all and smelled like pork. There was a lot of lamb salad, but it was covered in so much sweet sauce that we couldn't eat any of it. Food came in 5 minutes so we couldn't enjoy our drinks beforehand. No more lambs

A traditional and very good Franconian restaurant in the middle of the city. The food came super quickly and was very tasty. The portions are very generous. The staff is very nice. The salad alone had a bit too much vinegar and oil. Overall it tastes very good. Still delicious in September 2023. Leberkaes good in September 2024.

Well-attended beer garden. A service member made sure everyone got to the tables. Then you were in great hands under the trees and parasols. The food menu is great and definitely sufficient. Beer was cold and tasty. The food was warm and delicious. It didn't take long either. Service was very good and always had something to say

I was visiting Würzburg as a tourist and saw this wonderful shaded area with lots of people engaged in eating and drinking under the beautiful trees and couldn’t resist sitting down for dinner and getting out of the heat and noise in the square a few minutes away. I was greeted warmly and well taken care of. When I asked for the server to pick a wine he picked a 1/2 dry local Franconian wine which was so refreshing! My meal was very good but I was in love with their apple strudel vanilla ice cream. Definitely a big 5* as it was delicious. Needless to say I went there again day 2 and may go day 3 if possible. Staff members both days were excellent.

I went today at 4pm and in the bar there was a very rude boy who wouldn't serve me beer. I don't know who hired him, but he's not picky with customers. I came from 100 miles away to visit someone and I meet a man like that. I can't even imagine how he talks to customers.

Very nice and pleasant service, courteous especially towards the children, fast service with good food... A little away from the market square, therefore also pleasantly quiet in the beer garden. We'll be back 😌

Nice restaurant in the middle of the city. We had a delicious meal here during a stopover on the way home. Very friendly and enthusiastic waiter. We also found Würzburg itself to be a surprisingly nice city.

Trying to find where I really wanted to go with the hopelessly confusing map apps, I ended up here which was on the list. Excellent service, but the food was just fairly ordinary reallynothing to write home about. Although I did discover that the German wine on their list was quite drinkable because I had been looking for a restaurant which had a wine bar attached to it, and which I assumed would have an excellent variety of wines to drink, so not too bad don’t run away, but there might be better places around

Great service at the table, great food and delicious beer. Overall a nice experience. There is a star deduction for the impossible spot on the Weiser with the gray hair at the entrance. The guy really didn't work.

Ich bin zum ersten Mal in dieser wunderschönen Stadt und diesem Wirtshaus gewesen. Gegessen habe ich Sauerfleisch mit Klößen und Rotkohl. Der Wirt hat mir noch ein leckeres Bier dazu empfohlen. Ich muss zugeben, dass dieses Abendessen eines meiner besten war. Und wissen muss man, dass ich sehr gerne Sauerfleisch esse. 5 Sterne für ein sehr gutes Essen mit leckerem Bier.

So good food! When we are passing through and are in the area, we always go into town to eat here. Affordable and good quality, friendly staff and always enough.

Good Schäufele and nice beer garden!

I've been in the winter and the summer having visited the area for work. Brilliant in all seasons. We made a special effort to come back and we visited two evenings in a row. Simple yet delicious food. Always busy but service is quick. In the winter we sat inside and it's cosy and traditional. In the summer we sat outside and it's a great place to enjoy the great weather and people watch. My favourite dish is the sausages, sauerkraut and mash potato. Service all super friendly.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich, wir wurden zügig bedient und das Essen kam ohne große Wartezeit. Der Schäufele Burger war mir zu salzig, der typische Schäufele-Geschmack kam nicht durch und auch das Burger-Brötchen war „lätschig“ auf gut fränkisch. Ich würde das nicht mehr bestellen. Bei den Bratwürsten haben wir den Verdacht, dass die Röstzwiebeln meliert waren, da bei meiner Frau allergische Reaktionen auftraten, obwohl bei dem Gericht kein Gluten als Allergen vermerkt war. Vielleicht hatten wir einfach nur Pech.

I came because of the recommendations here. Disappointment. The food is street buffet quality. Schnitzel is thawed and not fully cooked (I had to return it to wait for a new one). Ravioli is cold on the inside (probably heated). In short, if you care about what you put in your body, give up on this place.

Leider eine furchtbare Erfahrung. 'Wir haben 10 Minuten auf eine Bedienung gewartet. Damit kann man leben. Allerdings nicht wenn 5 Kellner rauchend auf der Treppe stehen und sich noch lustig darüber machen ,dass man bestellen möchte. Der Gipfel war dann die Empfehlung wir sollten doch zu McDonalds gehen ,wenn wir es eilig hätten. Man muss sich heute einiges gefallen lassen in der Gastronomie, das war uns dann aber doch zuviel

Friendly - good value for money

We were there today, on a Saturday afternoon, 6 of us plus the baby. We wanted to sit down and have a nice drink. We didn't have a reservation and were allowed to stay for an hour (we communicated from the start that we just wanted a drink). The “friendly” lady at the entrance and the waitress, both totally unfriendly, snotty and absolutely NOT child-friendly. The baby cried for a moment because he was tired, but after a short time fell asleep in the car. A child knocked over a glass at the neighboring table, and here too everyone was visibly and loudly annoyed. As a mother, I found my presence with my child to be disturbing, which was confirmed to us as we were leaving, we were insulted loudly and clearly: “always these children” “just want a drink” “there wasn’t even a tip”. Yes, I know, everyone there was already grown up and born annoyed. And - as I said - we said from the start that we just wanted to have a drink, I don't pay a single cent of tip for such "service" and I'm never thrifty here. But I've never experienced anything like this, 0 stars are already too much Once and never again! And to all parents: leave it alone and go somewhere else!

Very nice beer garden. That's why we chose the inn. Service that takes the drinks is friendly. When the food came, unfortunately the exact opposite. We were very bored with food and slapped down carelessly. I had to ask if I could get ketchup with the fries. However, these were very good, which cannot be said about the burger bun. Selling this sloppy thing as a rustic burger bun is a disgrace! But meat was again very good. All in all, ok, but not worth a second visit.

Nice Franconian restaurant with a great beer garden. Again any time.

The portion is moderate, rather small for a brewery. The taste is okay but a lot of convenience. The finished mashed potatoes still had lumps of powder, three narrow slices of roast pork... The waitress makes you wait forever, tries to force a tip and is offended when there isn't one. There isn't anything better in the area.

The food was very tasty, the sauce was strong and had a perfect consistency. With the Schäufele this could have been a little crispier on one half. But it was very, very tasty. The service was very busy. That's why he was always very short. The atmosphere was typically Franconian and cozy and we also met some nice people that evening

A really great Franconian restaurant with excellent food and friendly service. I can particularly recommend the Schäufele or the Schäufele Burger, best served with a delicious portion of crispy fries. We felt very comfortable here and the hospitality was really great. We would happily eat here again at any time. Clear recommendation for a visit. Sitting outside was of course a very special highlight in the beautiful weather.

Very nice Franconian restaurant with similar specialties. Very good Schäufele! Food is very tasty. The menu offers plenty of variety. In my opinion, the price/performance ratio is absolutely justified. The waitresses are very attentive and friendly. NOT a tourist trap! Highly Recommended!
