Cozy and friendly staff. The food is delicious.

Without any reason, 15 men were asked to leave the restaurant - probably because of our sexual inclination - without being able to pay the bill after consumption, and were thrown out very directly from the restaurant.

A tourist-oriented restaurant, reservations are recommended. We had a nice table for 16, the food was good, and the service was very friendly and attentive. After two hours, it was over, but that wasn't a problem thanks to the fast service and good organization.

Very cozy location, but the tables were extremely close to each other. All the dishes we ordered were very tasty and you could feel the high quality of the food. The service was impressively courteous and accommodated all special requests!

Great, no ifs and buts. Friendly welcome and shown to the place, although not reserved. Onion Braised Roast: Tender, very tasty, I had the impression that the beef was somehow pre-treated. Marinade or fermented or... Blue Tips: Very good! Dishes very well tempered. Absolute recommendation because everything just fits. Second time here after two years and still as good.

Unfortunately, the food during my visit was disappointing, somehow loveless. Sauce with skin, friend's soup lukewarm and somehow not that tasty. At least the service made sure that you weren't dissatisfied and a small dessert was provided, which was delicious.

After the city tour we visited the Backöfele. We were greeted warmly and served very well. The meal was excellent. Recommended!!

We actually wanted to go to another restaurant that was fully booked, which is why we went to the Backöfele - that was ultimately a fortunate circumstance. Despite very good occupancy, we were given a table in the rustic, cozy restaurant and served excellent food (sauerbraten). The service was extremely friendly. The best restaurant of the year so far. If you're in Würzburg, be sure to stop by and don't be put off by the slightly higher prices. 5 stars.

With luck, I was able to spontaneously get a place for two people in a full house and stayed there for several hours, completely thrilled. The food of the highest taste, the Cordon Bleu, absolutely convinced me. For dessert there was a delicious Kaiserschmarrn. The service was also a dream, we would love to come back!

Rustic atmosphere. Food (beef with horseradish sauce) couldn't live up to expectations with tough meat. Salad was good. Service unobtrusively experienced.

Beautiful, rustic restaurant with friendly service and great food in the middle of Würzburg. We arrived late around 9:30 a.m. and were greeted warmly and everything was great. Many thanks to the dedicated staff and the great atmosphere there

Was really craving some schnitzel and this ended up being our favorite schnitzel of the trip. We also tried the boiled franconian sausages which were very good. No open tables, but they seated us at a community table which was fine.

Typical Franconian restaurant, a few steps from the centre. Informal, pleasant, very warm atmosphere. We shared the escargot and smoked trout mousse (very good), before the main courses. Everything delicious, from the cordon bleu, to the pork chops, to the sausages. The quality of the products seemed very good to us. We concluded with the kaiserschmarrn, which is served with cream and vanilla ice cream. Excellent value for money. Fairly quick service. The best place we ate in Wurzburg. Highly recommended.

The Kasslerpfänchen had no ribs, but the waitress didn't say a word about it. They probably took the Schupfnudeln off the menu. For €23 the expectation was high, but was grossly disappointed. Hardly any asparagus, about 6 pieces and the wild garlic cream didn't taste like wild garlic. The Schupfnudeln were out of the package. Big rip. I don't go there anymore, even if the atmosphere is nice.

The place is really nice inside like to back in the time for a moment, unfortunately we arrived in a busy time without reservation and the place was full we eat in a tables outside. Service was friendy and fast even the busy place. Food really German and taste.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. The soup wasn't even lukewarm and had to be served again. The same thing happened with the main course. The dumplings are cold, the meat is cold and the sauce has already started to solidify. The only hot thing was the plate. We had to return the other dish for other reasons. Unfortunately, the food didn't seem fresh. They seem to focus on quantity rather than quality.

Apple and john juice spritzer watery, neither visually nor taste-satisfying. For 3 out of 4 people, the meat was extremely tough and difficult to cut. And the side salad was served without dressing, which the waitress wasn't particularly interested in. It was definitely the last time for us.

Franconian cuisine in a Franconian atmosphere. Even though it was inside, we had the feeling that we were dining with a view outside. Rich menu including vegetarian and vegan offers. Had the lentil and nut roast with dark sauce, red cabbage and dumplings: super tasty, I can really recommend it. Beer very good. Dessert too.

Apple.-currant spritzer very thin/watery. Salad served without dressing, no substitute. Onion roast for 3 people. extremely tough, almost impossible to cut. Don't think we will recommend this place or visit again

We would like to thank you very much for three great evenings. We actually wanted to feast our way through Würzburg again, but somehow we kept coming back here. This is thanks in particular to the really great service, but also to the very good and down-to-earth food. The service was always courteous and friendly (even if it was always packed) and if you want to enjoy classic Franconian cuisine, you are definitely in good hands here. Thank you! Very poor value for money. The food tastes extremely bland - whether soup, meat or fish. One would have really wished there had been salt and pepper at the table to at least give the whole thing a bit of flavor. This type of food would most likely be considered appropriate in a hospital.

We wanted to eat here on our last visit to Würzburg, but we couldn't get a seat. This time it finally worked. The restaurant is rightly very popular - the dishes are very varied and tasty, but traditional cuisine is still presented here. In addition to the Franconian Schäufele, we also highly recommend the caramelized Kaiserschmarrn with ice cream or the apple pancakes for dessert. The atmosphere is very cozy, even if it is of course a little louder because of the many people. Definitely try it out, but reserve in advance!

If you visit Würzburg, the Backöfele is a must. Rustic and cozy atmosphere, attentive and friendly service and the food was delicious.

One star deducted because the spinach with the fried potatoes was a bit too salty. Service was super nice. Even fulfilled my wish and brought me a hollondaise instead of mustard sauce. The ambience was too dark and too loud for me.

As part of a company event, we were guests at the oven in the evening. The atmosphere is cozy, rustic but not old-fashioned. A nice place to stay The service staff was super friendly, quick and always had a relaxed attitude on their lips. There are both regional menus and a special steak menu, which is part of the catering business but is operated as a different concept next door. Despite a large group, the food was there and tasted excellent. For me, the Bachefele is a clear recommendation and I will come back.

We stopped here after a short trip to Würzburg and received a very friendly welcome from the service. Thanks to the online reservation, we were able to sit in the beautiful courtyard in the sunshine. The atmosphere is inviting, even inside. Very good Franconian cuisine, tasty beers. Although the prices are almost borderline (over 28 euros for a Schäufele is already a house number). Given all the above-mentioned qualities, a visit to the Backöfele is highly recommended!

Super tasty food, wheat on tap, very attentive and prompt service. Just perfect! ❤️ Few public parking spaces right in front of the door. Something could be invested in the ambience or in the courtyard - clear walls of unnecessary installations, add some paint, purchase seating with padded backrests.

All around a great restaurant, everything in tip top condition

We were thrilled with our visit to the Backöfele in Würzburg. What struck us particularly positively was the flexible response to special requests - changes to the dish components were possible without any problems and were implemented by the friendly service staff. The dishes were prepared quickly and served attractively. Families are also in good hands here: our son was absolutely thrilled with the children's menu and would have loved to try it! Our visit was rounded off with a delicious dessert and a good selection of drinks. We would love to come back!

A lovely evening with good food

Very good and authentic german cuisine.

The atmosphere in the "Backöfele" is extraordinary, but also seems more like a scenario than authentic. One gets the impression that when it comes to guests, it's clearly more about quantity than class. The group was also rather upset that there was no round on the house for a bill of around €750. The starter plate “Weng mehr eats the Franke” (€12 per person) was a disgrace. There wasn't much and none of it convinced me. The bread in particular was an unparalleled impudence. The “meat cake with chard vegetables in cream and fried potatoes” (18.60 €) was not my thing at all, especially the meat.

Everything was very good as always. Top service and very tasty food.

Please reserve your space in advance, otherwise you will rarely get space. For good reason, the food, the service was great, everything else was great for us too. Everyone will definitely find something on the menu, I had Schäufele and my wife had the veal liver Berlin style, both of which were top. Thank you for the lovely evening.

The restaurant is somewhat hidden near the old Main Bridge. Reservations are highly recommended, even online, as this place gets quite busy. The Franconian cuisine is impeccable. The price/performance ratio and ambiance are perfect—no tourist rip-offs.

The charm is simply there in the restaurant. The food was very good as you would expect and the service was very friendly. All wishes were fulfilled, someone was always at the table to ask if everything was OK or if anything else was needed. All the food arrived at the same time. Nobody had to wait extra and the dessert was amazing. Kaiserschmarrn for 2 people or more. It is simply enough for 4 people. Delicious!

Important note: It is compulsory to eat and drink. We (group of 12) just wanted something to drink and were only allowed to stay as an exception. Unfortunately, this is only hidden in the terms and conditions. It would be really helpful to clearly point this out on the reservation page. I don't fully understand it either. During the week, after around 9 p.m., no one comes around to eat anything big. The restaurant could still make a good business from drinking. Otherwise everything was fine.

A little bit hidden in an alley away from the shopping streets, the Backöfele doesn't look particularly inviting from the outside, especially when the front door is closed. A very nice, rustic atmosphere awaits you inside. A covered courtyard is also used as a dining room. This is a bit dimly lit in the dark, but this is stylishly compensated for by the many candles on the tables. There is good, regional food. A quick and attentive service. The food is not cheap but reasonably priced and OK. The desserts are a bit overpriced. It gets crowded in the evenings and you should reserve a table in advance, even during the week.

Food, service, and ambiance were top-notch! The lighting could perhaps be a bit brighter in the evening, so reading the menu would be a bit easier and you'd be able to see your food, which was excellent, better.

I'm very annoyed by the "Coke" advertised on the menu as "Coca-Cola." The "Coke" tastes absolutely nothing like the original "Coca-Cola." It could be a mixture of water and "Coca-Cola syrup." In that case, I would recommend readjusting the mixing system. It would also be very pleasant if the "Coke" contained carbon dioxide. The food was quite good.

My better half and I were able to celebrate our anniversary at Backöfele. The evening started with a sparkling glass of champagne. As an appetizer there was excellent veal boiled beef thinly sliced ​​with a very good dip and a very tasty wild garlic cream soup. We were then served a tender lamb shank with ratatouille, braised potatoes and a rich smoked pork pancake. Our stylish guest service coordinator was always attentive, so that the empty beer glass was not left on the table for long and a heavy copy was replaced. At the end there was a chocolate trio in the form of ice cream, mousse and cake, rounded off with a glass of dessert wine and a soothing pear brandy. If you like good Franconian cuisine, friendly staff and a rustic ambience, Backöfele is the right place for you. A place to linger.
