We stopped by the inn on a rainy Tuesday. It was very busy, the food was delicious as always, and the staff were relaxed and friendly despite the hustle and bustle!

We were just stopping over at Lake Chiemsee and wanted a beer garden that served pork knuckles. And we weren't disappointed. The service was fast and super friendly. Even with our two young children, we didn't feel like they were a nuisance, even though they were boisterous and loud 😉 The food, however, was the highlight. For around €19 each, we had schnitzel with potato salad and knuckle with bread dumplings. The portions were so generous that we could barely finish them. And that's saying something. The schnitzel was super crispy without being overcooked, blistered, and nice and moist and thin. My kids devoured the potato salad. The knuckle was crispy and moist, and the dumplings were also delicious. Only the sauce for the "Kinder Dumplings" had a bit too much caraway for our taste. But that's a matter of taste and nitpicking at a high level. We were extremely satisfied and will definitely come back when we're in the area. (Ps: At 5:00 PM on Sunday, there were still plenty of seats in the beer garden. So when we went around 6:30 PM, it was quite busy. It's definitely a good idea to make a reservation for that evening if you're planning a larger group.)

We went there on recommendation and were not disappointed. Unfortunately, everything was full that day and there weren't enough waiters. The food and service were excellent. We would go back anytime.

A must-visit on every vacation at Lake Chiemsee. Despite the apparently new management, we had nothing to complain about. However, the mustard and horseradish breading on the schnitzel could have used more of both ingredients. On the plus side, they offered me a "dumpling mix" of both (cheese and spinach). The service made it possible... We'll be back again! Upgrade: The schnitzel was unfortunately tough, and the potato salad with cucumber, was it homemade? 🤔 I think there's room for improvement. It used to be better...

Delicious food in a beautiful beer garden

We haven't been here for a few years; unfortunately, the food and the menu have declined considerably; the lumberjack steak and the fish of the day were prepared rather unusually; sometimes, unfortunately, less is more ;); my schnitzel was good, although I would have preferred it fried in butter with a regular coating; the Kaiserschmarrn was very thick – also rather unusual ... The service was fast and very friendly.

A typical Bavarian inn with great food! We stopped along the way because of its proximity to the A8 and were pleasantly surprised. There was a good vegetarian selection, and the dishes were homemade. The Kaiserschmarrn is particularly noteworthy; it was a great way to end the day!

We're back at Lake Chiemsee after several years, and the food here at Wirtshaus Feldwies is still as good as ever! You can sit either outside in the beer garden (also suitable for larger groups with reservations) or inside in one of the dining rooms or the main hall. The waiters are friendly and efficient. Drinks and food arrive quickly. They brought us a candle outside, as unfortunately (at this time of year!) mosquitoes are still a problem.

Cozy Bavarian inn. Cream of parsley soup was very thick, more like mush. Kaiserschmarrn, on the other hand, was good but also expensive.

We had a horseradish schnitzel! The potato salad (I don't think it was homemade) was, like the schnitzel, rather tasteless! The staff was very friendly and efficient!

Very nice beer garden Staff very friendly But unfortunately, despite the many positive reviews (which is why we made a reservation), I had to make major concessions with the food! For my taste, the food was lukewarm, tasteless, and the spaetzle was completely overcooked (I told the waitress about it afterward). But people's tastes often differ.

The food was delicious 😋 Service was friendly and fast. Large beer garden with plenty of shade from the trees 👍 No one can blame it, but the mosquitoes were plentiful in August (don't forget the mosquito spray). Highly recommended.

A typical, rustic beer garden, as it should be. Unfortunately, we have to deduct one star for the food; the Kaiserschmarren (smothered pancakes) wasn't at all to our taste. Otherwise, we'd happily return. The food was delicious (roast pork and schnitzel), and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. This rating is based on our personal experience.

Jessie is the best waitress there is, everyone can learn a thing or two from her because she does everything correctly and is courteous to customers, so be nice to her :)

Even without a reservation, we were allowed to sit in the large hall. It was a bit chilly there, but since we had a full negotiation, we didn't mind. The service was good, and the drinks came quickly. We had the roast pork, the goulash, and a children's schnitzel... everything was good and the price was still reasonable.

If you want good Bavarian food, then come here!

Very tasty food: roast pork and meatballs

No idea where the positive comments come from. With a few exceptions, they are the complete opposite of what we experienced. Both plates (1x gröstl and 1x brawn). The pieces of meat probably came from returned plates. Large and small chunks of meat, sometimes burnt black and flabby, stringy, and tasteless, all lukewarm. The potatoes were glassy and sour. A small pot of cold gravy or something similar was served with them. The pieces of brawn probably came from a can (because of their shape): tasteless, very little meat. The salad was mushy and overly acidic. The fried potatoes were the only bright spot! Because they were very fresh and perfectly cooked. Wine and wheat beer: excellent! The service: okay, trying. No German, but so far better than the food. We've known this place (a few years ago) since its reopening as a unique, wonderful place to relax and enjoy a meal, which we regularly visited. Now, it's probably partly fallen into Polish hands, and certainly won't be back for a long time! What a shame.

We didn't really like the food here. It wasn't particularly hot, nor was it seasoned well. Still, it was relatively expensive.

Despite all the complainers, the food was plentiful and very good. The service was attentive and very friendly. The atmosphere: finally, a typical Bavarian inn. Keep it up. We'll be back.

A truly beautiful, traditional Bavarian inn with a fantastic beer garden. The food was delicious, the service very friendly, and the prices reasonable.

I can highly recommend this place. The weather was perfect and we sat in the beer garden under the chestnut trees. The food was typical Bavarian and the service was very quick. We ate the roast pork, which was cooked to perfection.

We were on holiday with the caravan and after 700 km we made a stop because it was already evening and all the kitchens were closed. We called Dan and explained our situation, that we were hungry and couldn't get anything to eat anywhere. We were told that if we didn't take long we would wait for you. We were there in 10 minutes. A very nice, rustic guesthouse with very friendly staff. We immediately felt at home. We were there with 5 adults and 2 children. The food was excellent. If you want to eat well, you're in good hands here. We would definitely recommend it to others because everything we ordered was delicious.

A solid restaurant. We had a salad for starters, which we thought could have used a bit more dressing. For the main course, we had bread dumplings in gravy, which were quite tasty. We also had roasted onions with onions and fried potatoes in gravy. The fried potatoes, gravy, and onions were excellent, but unfortunately, there was a tendon in the meat and the meat wasn't cooked properly. Otherwise, the taste was excellent, but for €30, I would have expected better quality from the meat. For dessert, we had caramelized Kaiserschmarrn, something different but very tasty. Regarding the service, we have to say that because of a young dog, we sat further away so as not to disturb the other people. This didn't go down well with the unmotivated waiter, who served us reluctantly despite explaining the situation and was also very poor at explaining it. We expect more understanding and a different approach in such situations.

Unfortunately disappointing – despite the beautiful location The location is really great, but the visit was overall very disappointing. The staff was obviously completely understaffed, and the organization left a lot to be desired. We first had to wait over an hour for our drinks and then another hour for the food – which was unfortunately only mediocre and significantly overpriced. It was also noticeable that some guests who arrived after us were served much faster – and we weren't the only ones who felt this way. It's a real shame, as the ambiance is really promising.

Beautiful beer garden in Feldwies. Excellent service, delicious food. There were 10 of us, and everyone agreed that the value for money wasn't good. The portions were either too small or too expensive for the price.

We dropped by on our way from city to city. Good stop point and food is better than expected. The service is amazing and the patio space is spacious and comfortable to enjoy the weather.

If you enjoy regional/local dishes, this is the place for you. It's about 10 minutes/450 meters from the Übersee am Kiemsee parking lot, easily accessible on foot. The food was delicious; both the Kanninchem (roasted chicken) and the roast beef (each with spaetzle and sauce) were very pleasant in taste, and the portions were generous. Unsurprisingly, the light beer was also very flavorful :D

Great local traditional restaurant. Top experienced staff. Very lovely outside garden with trees and plenty of shadow. Top lager beer, large portions and very reasonable prices. Doesn't get any more Bavarish as this. I always stop there when on my trips to and from Germany.

After being constantly ignored for 10 minutes by the waiters at the tables next to us, we left again. Prices are very high.

We were at Wirtshaus Feldwies and ordered the Swiss sausage salad. Unfortunately it was served with grated Gouda, which didn't taste convincing - more like chewing gum. In our opinion, this is too expensive for 13.50 euros. The Bavarian sausage salad was one euro cheaper and a little better, but overall the price-performance ratio was not good. The taste was okay, but we expected more at these prices.
