Everything you would expect from an inn is well fulfilled.

We were actually here just to see where the delicious Schürhakl that we drink every year at the Dortmund Christmas market comes from. We had the most delicious meal in a cozy atmosphere.

We wanted to try something new. Otherwise we always stopped at the Feldwies on the way back due to its proximity to the campsite. But the Hinterlander is in no way inferior. Service and food were great, although I would have preferred to sit in the beer garden, unfortunately the temperatures didn't allow it. So 5 stars 🌟 and we will definitely come back.

We drove six hours from Magdeburg to here for the second time to eat the schnitzel. I can only recommend it to every schnitzel lover. We would also like to give more than five stars.

Every year we go on a short vacation there once or twice, always nice and very cozy and very tasty food

Many thanks to Renate, we were happy to see her again after 10 years, she is simply the best. Now to eat, the soups were great (pumpkin cream soup and liver dumpling soup) the main courses topped it again (roast pork with dumpling and cabbage, meat loaf with egg and potato cucumber salad) were simply heavenly. We will definitely come to eat with you again.

Inn with a very large guest garden in the center of Übersee. Ideal if you are traveling by train or bike. Very good cuisine and quick service. Lush and beautiful flowers on the house. Sitting here feels like you're in a Bavarian picture book. Card payment possible (unfortunately not for tips - you should change and this is also possible for tax reasons!) Very good: The menu is easy to find on the internet and can also be easily read using a mobile browser.

Very nice inn with an even nicer beer garden. The food is unique. Always fresh and the menu is varied and seasonal. The staff is very friendly, even when it's busy. We have eaten here many times and have always been satisfied. By the way, there is also a menu to go. You can also bring the delicious dishes home. Highly recommended.

Good home-style Bavarian cuisine. Very nice beer garden with a play area for small children. Free parking spaces in the immediate vicinity. Dogs are also welcome.

Yesterday we were guests for the second time with 11 people. This year too, the reservation worked out great. The staff was on par with the food except for one waiter. Overall, the food was mediocre in terms of price/performance ratio. While the dessert was quite tasty, the kitchen is supposed to be called cream puffs, I got, see photo, an indefinable something. According to the menu it should be a warm baked Leberkas. What I got was an indefinable something, probably warmed up in the microwave, with a rubbery brown border that you couldn't eat. Even my complaint was completely ignored with the words: “That’s how it is with us”. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this inn as the quality has deteriorated greatly.

We and friends spoke out in favor of the inn at short notice 😀. The Bavarian folklore that day was a positive surprise 👍😅. And the next surprise is that we got a nice table 👌. Drinks and food were ordered quickly and very quickly considering the enormous rush of guests. The food was delicious and sufficient ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Unfortunately there was only one dessert left late in the evening (cream puffs with vanilla ice cream, cream and cherries 🍒) and I got it 🤣😂. Guys, I swear I'll come back just for this dessert 👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍

The beer garden and the restaurant inside are really nice. The service was super friendly, despite it being so busy. We recommend making reservations otherwise you won't get a seat. It is very well attended. The drinks and food came very quickly considering it was so busy. The food was very tasty, but the portions didn't fill us up. But we also came here because we were hungry. Still everything was great, we are thinking about coming again 😉😋

A place to feel good. Friendly service and the food is sensational. You have to visit this inn if you are on holiday on Lake Chiemsee.

We had dinner here again today. All 5 of us were very satisfied. We had bread dumplings with cream mushrooms, pork knuckle, cheese dumplings and baked meatballs. The service was very friendly and accommodating. A thoroughly successful evening. We'll be back.

There were four of us in the beer garden and we had a young waiter who was friendly and attentive. The food, however, was only moderate in quality and taste. But the prices are all the more hefty.

A real Bavarian inn with typical Labse food. We stop there once or several times and find a place, depending on the weather and the number of guests, in the restaurants or in the beer garden. The staff this year (2024) was exceptionally nice and very attentive!!! The food is good, although the menu limits the choice and makes the decision easier. We also believe that “less is more” and therefore the quality is better.

What can you say? From A to Z you can only say the best. During our visit today, two young employees gave us a warm welcome at around 4:45 p.m. (time written for the boss). The subsequent service from both of them was very excellent, so you immediately felt at home. Actually you just wanted to eat something and stay for a while. But with so much well-being, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Naselnuss and Williams as well as the Kellerbier tasted better and better. This way you stay squatting longer.😄 The Next Generation also served us, as it said on his shirt (which was most likely about the sports club), who was also very attentive and you might not have to worry about the successor. Thank you to the youth. A greeting to the kitchen, the Ochsenbackerl couldn't be prepared better. Cheers!!!! Only recommended! Great staff, great food and complete comfort. Thank you very much!!! We will definitely come back again in the next few days. Stay healthy and continue to have many guests!!

The Gasthof Hinterwirt is what you would imagine a Bavarian restaurant to be. The food is super tasty, the draft beers taste really good. The Stekerlfisch with Arctic char is highly recommended. But all other dishes are also recommended. The beer garden is very cozy and really cool with the chestnut tree in the middle. The staff is very friendly and attentive, no long waiting times. Always my pleasure.

Friendly service. Great food. We ate there four times within 10 days. It was always good. In my opinion, the Stöckerlfisch and Schäufle can hardly be made any better. Plus a cellar beer. If anything else is possible: apple strudel or cream puffs to finish. But then you don't do much during the day. 😉

I was here for dinner. There is typical Bavarian cuisine. I was also surprised at how full it was and can only recommend making a reservation in advance. Otherwise you can still find a place in the next room or in the beer garden. I ate the best pork knuckle with dumplings here in my life and can only recommend it. Nobody has ever managed it so crispy and tender. Knuckles are always available here on Saturdays. The ox cheeks with dark sauce and dumplings are also recommended. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The prices are in the middle range. I would come here again and again and can recommend the food.

Were there with a group. Nice location and nice ambience. We were looking forward to the food because of the good reviews. Unfortunately the waiter or the service wasn't exactly friendly. Everything was tip top, very tasty Chiemsee char and the roast pork was brilliant. Our waiter Basti was quick and friendly. Great beer garden and quaint tavern, the price performance is very good. 😊

Very good location. Delicious beer on tap. Had the Auer Bräu. Food was good. The roast pork was extremely good, the spaetzle was homemade and delicious. The second dish was meatballs...a little less bread in the mixture would have been better, but still good. Service was great All in all, a pub that I can recommend.

The Gasthof is located in a very quiet village, yet close to the highway. So perfect for traveling afterwards. The food and rooms were great! Take the church into account as a neighbor.

Very good food. Not overpriced. Fair price/performance ratio. Regional suppliers. Tafelspitz and Ochsenbäuschl are super tender. Away from the main street. Therefore not too overcrowded. You should still make a reservation just to be on the safe side.

We stopped by to have lunch. Great few to the church just opposite the Gasthof. We did not stay over night but they do have rooms too. Weather was so nice we could sit outside in the beer garden and enjoy some amazing traditional food. The fish is very good. Also the Windbeutel and the ice cream is really yummy. Can only suggest to stop by and eat here. Service is very friendly and quick.

An amazing beer garden. After a short mountain hike, we stopped here in the afternoon and were served excellently. I've never had a better pork knuckle (called "Stelze" in Austria) anywhere. Highly recommended. We'll definitely go there again.

We've eaten there several times now - great! We can only recommend the Chiemseerenke and the asparagus from Schrobenhausen. The service is very friendly and quick. Everything is just fine. But the most beautiful place is under the chestnut tree in the beer garden. This is Bavarian cosiness and hospitality. An absolute insider tip is the Romanesque-style church in the neighborhood that you should visit. Overall, a great recommendation!! We will be back definitely. P.S. Room not tested, so no rating

This was one of my favorite meals I had in Bavaria! We had a great time sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful weather. I highly recommend the braised ox cheek; it was incredible. If you're in the area, make sure you stop by!

We have been to the Hinterwirt several times in the last few years Even during Corona times. Today we were shocked that there are no longer any typical dishes in a Bavarian inn, such as pork sausages, Leberkäse Weißwurst, etc. Of course, it is clear to me that the profit skimming here is not as great as with lofty offers from the current menu at completely exorbitant prices. Why do the hosts do this? The reason given when asked was that the VAT was increased, that would be ok, but unfortunately the prices were not reduced even after it was reduced due to Corona!? The catering industry stuffed its pockets during Corona and now guests are being ripped off with unrealistic prices (e.g. meatballs are nothing more than a meatball at €14.90; roast pork €16.90; roast veal €29.90, probably all with gold leaf documented) § 291 StGB price usury sends its regards. I ask myself why .?? I wish all these restaurateurs a speedy bankruptcy! But in Germany the taker qualities are widespread, especially in holiday areas like in Bavaria, we were in Italy again for weeks and found prices there like 3 years ago without this non-stop rip-off, like in Germany, what from our government, government? Which government? is still supported. But the catering industry will also get the receipt, which I really hope will happen, but the Germans don't notice anything anymore anyway!!

We had lunch at Gasthof Hinterwirt on Easter Monday. The menu is very clear, which is generally always a good sign. The pork schnitzel was very well breaded and fried to perfection. Gladly again on your next visit!
