Sehr gutes Essen guter Service mir allerdings zu viel Werbe Tafeln überall, machen den Biergartenflair nicht so schön, optisch etwas kitschig!!!

Schöner Biergarten. Das Essen war schön angerichtet und Schmackhaft. Freundliche Servicekräfte tragen zum Wohlbefinden während des Aufenthaltes bei. Eine große Auswahl an Bier ist ebenfalls gegeben, schade das wir sie nicht alle versuchen konnten da wir auf der Durchreise waren.

Meine Frau und ich wollten nach einer Radtour, kurz vor der nachmittaglichen Küchenpause, dort im Biergarten einkehren. Es war sehr heiß an diesem Tag und die schattigen Plätze waren alle belegt. Die Bdedienung sagte uns beim Platzsuchen, dass die Küche jetzt schließt. Wir wollten aber wenigstens etwas trinken und setzten uns an den ca. 4m langen, leeren Stammtisch im Schatten. Kaum gesessen, kam die Bedienung und vertrieb uns von diesem Platz mit den Worten: "Der Chef möchte das nicht, der Tisch ist nur für Stammgäste" (Er hat das Hausrecht und das ist uns klar) Wir fuhren dann weiter und können von daher leider nicht mehr berichten oder beurteilen. Eine 2. Chance bekommt so ein Betrieb von uns aber nicht. Heute (19.03.2026) möchte ich nochmal auf die Antwort vom Inhaber eingehen und etwas klarstellen. Es war sehr heiß, Plätze waren noch frei, ja, aber nicht im Schatten. Nur an dem Stammtisch, an dem soweit ich mich erinnern kann, mindestens 12 Personen Platz hätten. Der Tisch war zu dieser Zeit nicht besetzt, es war 14:10 Uhr (20 Minuten vor der Mittagspause) Schild hin oder her, das ist nicht gastfreundlich, denn in diesen 20 Minuten, in denen noch offen war, wären wahrscheinlich keine 12 Stammgäste mehr gekommen. Im Straßenverkehr gibt es auch das Parkverbot-Schild und man darf zum Be- und Entladen dort kurz stehen bleiben kann. Wir wollten nur ein Getränk!!! Aber wie gesagt: "Sie haben das Hausrecht, Ihre Regeln zählen" das akzeptiere ich und habe es dementsprechend bewertet, das ist mein Recht! (Update am 31.05.2026) Der Wirt hat seinen Komentar wieder gelöscht. Vielleicht hat er seinen Fehler eingesehen.

Freundliche Bedienung, Essen gut, angenehmes Sitzen im Biergarten.

Ein Wahnsinns Biergarten. Nach einer kurzen Bergwanderung sind wir Nachmittags hier eingekehrt und wurden vorzüglich bedient. Habe bis jetzt nirgends eine bessere Schweinshaxe (bei uns in Österreich "Stelze") gegessen. Äusserst empfehlenswert. Wir gehn sicher wieder dort hin.

Das Essen meiner Frau kam leider deutlich später als meins aufgrund eines Malheurs in der Küche, das wurde aber super und zuvorkommend vom Service gelöst, es gab Nachspeise aufs Haus. Essen & Ambiente waren sehr toll.

Wir waren zum Abendessen dort. Es war sehr voll, aber trotzdem wurde uns ein Tisch organisiert. Die kleine Wartezeit haben wir gerne in Kauf genommen. Das Easen war lecker und der Service hat super funktioniert.

Wir haben hier in Übersee auf der Reise nach Italien eine Übernachtung gebucht und sind zum Abendessen eingekehrt. Das Essen war qualitativ gut und lecker zum angemessenen Preis. Besonders gut gefallen hat und das flotte und freundliche Personal. Gerne wieder.

Wir waren gestern zu 4 dort Essen. Ein total netter Service, Essen sehr gut, schönes gemütliches Ambiente, sehr schön zu Ostern dekoriert...

Nettes Dorflokal mit tollem Biergarten und schönen Ambiente 👌 Ein super Service der den Besuch zur Freude macht. Klasse Haxen, knusprig, groß und zart. Wie schon in anderen Rezessionen geschrieben , finden einige Fertigprodukte Einzug in die Küche. (Brühe, Knödel, das eine oder andere Pulver) Aber passt 👍 Das einzige was ich nicht empfehlen kann, sind die Schnitzel! Entweder sind es fertige Schnitzel oder sie sind schon Stunden vorher paniert worden. Solche Schnitzel gehören nicht in einen Bayerischen Gasthof. Das können viele wesentlich besser. Aber im Großen und Ganzen ist ein tolles Lokal in dem alles (bis auf die Schnitzel) passt! Wir kommen immer gerne wieder! Danke ☺️

Hier geht es nur ums Restaurant

Waren zum Abendessen da. Bedienung sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Leider konnte da die Küche nicht mithalten. Schäufele - Fertigknödel, Fleisch schon seit Mittag fertig, versalzene Fertigsauce. Krautsalat war frisch und gut angemacht. Schnitzel Wiener Art - nicht knusprig und dazu lasche Pommes. Wir versuchen unser Glück das nächste Mal wo anders.

Wir machen sehr oft Urlaub in Übersee. Für uns gehört immer der Besuch beim Hinterwirt dazu. Wir waren mit 4 Personen dort. Wir wurden sehr schnell mit Getränken versorgt vom unserem Kellner Nico. Hier möchte ich wirklich mich bei ihm bedanken für den super Service. Unser bestelltes Essen war wie immer sehr schnell und war sehr lecker. Wir hatten: Biergartenteller, Bierkutschergulasch, Kinderschnitzel und Schweinefilet vom Grill mit Pfefferrahmsoße. Preislich kann ich wirklich nicht negatives sagen, da die Qualität hier einfach stimmt. Ich kann die ganzen negativen Bewertungen wirklich nicht verstehen. Vielen Dank und bis zum nächsten Mal.

Aus Bayern kommend hat man schon viel seiner heimischen Küche geschmeckt. Aber hier lernt man einen Schweinebraten von einer anderen Seite kennen. Ich habe noch nie eine so zarten Braten gegessen. Auch die Knödel und Soße….ein Gedicht…. Leider haben wir in letzter Zeit etwas Pech da es etwas undurchsichtig ist wann es den Schweinebraten immer gibt. Hier mussten wir auf andere Gerichte zurückgreifen-aber auch hier wurden wir nie enttäuscht. Aber der Schweinebraten ist unser Grund der Anreise. Auch der Kellner ist super freundlich und sympathisch. Die Location gemütlich und entspannt. Wir kommen bald wieder…

You'll get your fill. But with beef in horseradish sauce, I expect a certain something. Not just a bland sauce. I'd rather eat in Franconia again.

The food was quite tasty. The atmosphere and service, however, were less than ideal. At least, that's how we experienced it today. We had a reservation and were shown to a table. We sat there for a while until another server came and told us we couldn't stay. The table was for a larger group, and they asked if we had a reservation. So, we were moved to another table. I understand that. So, the wait started all over again… and things didn't improve much as the evening progressed. Everyone seemed stressed. I can't give it any higher marks than that.

The four of us chose the Hinterwirt for dinner. The food and service were top-notch. We felt very comfortable, and the dining room had a cozy atmosphere. We'd love to come back.

Lunch: Schäufele (shoulder of pork). I'm from Franconia, and the Schäufele (shoulder of pork) couldn't be better. The crust is crispy, the meat is tender and soft. Ingredients: Upper Bavarian coleslaw, a potato dumpling, and a bread dumpling. Highly recommended.

A very nice inn with a cozy beer garden! The atmosphere is rustic Bavarian and very inviting. We had a knuckle of pork – crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, simply perfect! The service was super friendly and attentive. Highly recommended – we'd love to come back!

A truly excellent Bavarian inn with delicious beer and even better food. The service is fast and attentive, making it possible even without a reservation. The location has a truly Bavarian ambiance, quaint and cozy. The food isn't delicious, but it's also Bavarian, although the homemade sausage was good. Enjoy your visit OKO

EDIT 08.2025 Unfortunately, the portions have gotten smaller. The "grilled pork fillet" only came with 2 (!) small pieces of meat with spaetzle and sauce, and that for €22.90. That's pretty meager. The same goes for 2 small meatballs with potato salad... The small mixed side salad isn't great either... a bit of beetroot, 2 (!) small tomatoes, and some grated carrots, the rest just various green salads. I don't understand a mixed salad. Furthermore, the menu has unfortunately been reduced considerably, and some old Bavarian classics are missing. And yes, everything has become more expensive, but for everyone! The last person in the chain to "absorb" the price increases is always the end customer. In any case, I went home hungry twice, and that shouldn't have happened. The price-performance ratio wasn't right for me this year. A long-established, rustic, beautifully situated inn right next to the church, with a lovely Bavarian beer garden and easy parking. It was good and delicious here 40 years ago, and it's still that way today. The food is always fresh and delicious 🤤, although we had the impression that the quantity has decreased somewhat, and we somehow missed the mixed side salad that was offered previously. The service was always very friendly, visible and approachable, extremely attentive to the guests, and always moving briskly. No one wandered through the dining room bored or annoyed. We enjoyed eating here five times during our one week of vacation and will do so again next time. As far as we're concerned, just keep doing what you're doing and just keep the ribs on the menu 😊.

The two of us spontaneously stopped by Gasthof Hinterwirt in September without a reservation and received a very friendly welcome. The roast pork was excellent – ​​the robust beer sauce and fluffy potato dumplings were particularly impressive. The atmosphere is extremely cozy, just as you'd imagine a typical Bavarian beer garden to be, and the quiet location makes it all the more pleasant. The beer was a delight – nice and cold, and even the glasses were pre-chilled, simply perfect! There's absolutely nothing to complain about with the service; everything was attentive and prompt. Plus, you can pay with cash or card, which is very convenient. A clear recommendation – we'd love to come back! 🍺✨

Unfortunately, after being assigned a table, we didn't see a waiter to take our order for 20 minutes. Only after we approached a server were we served again. Unfortunately, our food arrived in a timely manner, so we couldn't eat together.

You can count the fries as a side dish, since there are so many. The service was inattentive, so we didn't order a second round of drinks. A disappointing visit for me!

Four visits in June/July (two couples and three couples, respectively). The restaurant is what you would expect from a Bavarian inn or beer garden. The prices were reasonable. The beer was delicious. One fish dish didn't live up to the expectations of three people. But that was just a matter of taste. Otherwise, everything was perfectly fine. I'm a schnitzel fan and had a great meal there four times. Reservations are recommended; it was quite busy on each visit. The service was prompt and professional. Special thanks go to Renate. We had a very good meal in the beer garden – the roast pork was very tender and flavorful, with a fantastic sauce. The fried chicken with excellent potato salad and broad beans, and the cheese dumplings were also superb! We'll be back; the seasonal menu is particularly well-executed! Both the kitchen and the service are experienced and very friendly.

The review for the beer garden. We were in the beer garden in beautiful weather and, based on the positive reviews, were hoping for a good meal. I ordered schnitzel, and my wife ordered "the catch of the day," which was a pike. The schnitzel consisted of two pieces of meat, very thin and completely dry, and thickly breaded. You can do it that way, but it has nothing to do with a good schnitzel! The pike was also thickly breaded; the waitress could have told us that. When we asked, she didn't even know what kind of fish it was. I have no idea why the schnitzel, of all things, is getting so much praise. Overall, we were disappointed and certainly won't be coming back.

Definitely a reference in traditional 'simple' Bavarian cuisine at an excellent level. I can only recommend passing by.

Family-run, traditional Bavarian inn. Very good cuisine prepared with regional products. Very good fish dishes! Large selection of seasonal beers and a good wine list! Very friendly staff. We are already looking forward to the next time! Kudos to the Trummer family and their entire team.

Yesterday I spontaneously ate a plug fish on Ash Wednesday. We've never been to this restaurant before. But we were very enthusiastic. Super tasty food, funny and friendly service. Even gave 3 stamps on the house! The menu is manageable, but offers everything your heart desires and is also a quality feature of good cuisine. We felt very well looked after and would love to come back

Great inn, delicious food. Rooms are a bit old but very clean and tidy. Were there because of a concert in town and was easy to reach on foot.

Everything you would expect from an inn is well fulfilled.

We were actually here just to see where the delicious Schürhakl that we drink every year at the Dortmund Christmas market comes from. We had the most delicious meal in a cozy atmosphere.

We wanted to try something new. Otherwise we always stopped at the Feldwies on the way back due to its proximity to the campsite. But the Hinterlander is in no way inferior. Service and food were great, although I would have preferred to sit in the beer garden, unfortunately the temperatures didn't allow it. So 5 stars 🌟 and we will definitely come back.

We drove six hours from Magdeburg to here for the second time to eat the schnitzel. I can only recommend it to every schnitzel lover. We would also like to give more than five stars.

Many thanks to Renate, we were happy to see her again after 10 years, she is simply the best. Now to eat, the soups were great (pumpkin cream soup and liver dumpling soup) the main courses topped it again (roast pork with dumpling and cabbage, meat loaf with egg and potato cucumber salad) were simply heavenly. Inn with a very large guest garden in the center of Übersee. Ideal if you are traveling by train or bike. Very good cuisine and quick service. Lush and beautiful flowers on the house. Sitting here feels like you're in a Bavarian picture book. Card payment possible (unfortunately not for tips - you should change and this is also possible for tax reasons!) Very good: The menu is easy to find on the internet and can also be easily read using a mobile browser.

Very nice inn with an even nicer beer garden. The food is unique. Always fresh and the menu is varied and seasonal. The staff is very friendly, even when it's busy. Yesterday we were guests for the second time with 11 people. This year too, the reservation worked out great. The staff was on par with the food except for one waiter. Overall, the food was mediocre in terms of price/performance ratio. While the dessert was quite tasty, the kitchen is supposed to be called cream puffs, I got, see photo, an indefinable something. According to the menu it should be a warm baked Leberkas. What I got was an indefinable something, probably warmed up in the microwave, with a rubbery brown border that you couldn't eat. Even my complaint was completely ignored with the words: “That’s how it is with us”. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this inn as the quality has deteriorated greatly.

We and friends spoke out in favor of the inn at short notice 😀. The Bavarian folklore that day was a positive surprise 👍😅. And the next surprise is that we got a nice table 👌. Drinks and food were ordered quickly and very quickly considering the enormous rush of guests. The food was delicious and sufficient ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Unfortunately there was only one dessert left late in the evening (cream puffs with vanilla ice cream, cream and cherries 🍒) and I got it 🤣😂. Guys, I swear I'll come back just for this dessert 👌👍👌👍👌👍👌👍

The beer garden and the restaurant inside are really nice. The service was super friendly, despite it being so busy. We recommend making reservations otherwise you won't get a seat. It is very well attended. The drinks and food came very quickly considering it was so busy. The food was very tasty, but the portions didn't fill us up. But we also came here because we were hungry. Still everything was great, we are thinking about coming again 😉😋

A place to feel good. Friendly service and the food is sensational. You have to visit this inn if you are on holiday on Lake Chiemsee.

There were four of us in the beer garden and we had a young waiter who was friendly and attentive. The food, however, was only moderate in quality and taste. But the prices are all the more hefty.
