Restaurant “Taverne Lindos” in Übersee

I have to be annoyed every time I order something to pick up and I think it's a real rip-off. Far too expensive for the small "cheat" portions, which mainly consist of plenty of green beans. The plastic and styrofoam packaging probably costs the most money when purchasing, there are noticeable savings on the quality and quantity of the food, but the main thing is to smile in a friendly manner in everyone's face and make you think of a fine restaurant. Appearances are deceiving ~ but they shine. As long as the local guests in particular continue to support it, great! I'm really angry and feel ripped off by LindoS because: Hui on the outside - yuck on the inside!

I travel a lot in Germany for work. But I haven't visited a top Greek restaurant like this in a long time. Really very nice atmosphere and friendly and top service. And the food was really, really tasty. Keep it up 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Nice restaurant, modernly furnished and cozy. The owners/staff were very friendly and found us a place even though we hadn't made a reservation. The starter and main courses tasted very good. Unfortunately, two points surprised and bothered us. There was no bread for the starter (taramas), one of the waitresses said it was out today if we wanted to order pita bread with it. If we did, we were charged extra. It's not clear to me whether bread is generally not served with the spreads and you always have to order extra pita bread with it, or whether it was out of stock when we visited. Then you shouldn't have charged it extra. Otherwise it would be nice to serve bread with the “spread”. The rice for the main courses was plain, white rice. All the photos you find of eating at this restaurant show the usual tomato rice. We found the plain rice boring with calamari. The portions were quite small for the price, so you're unlikely to get full without a starter. Card payment was not possible that day, but this was mentioned when ordering, so it wasn't a problem. Otherwise a recommended restaurant.

Great Greek restaurant with friendly hosts and a nice atmosphere. You immediately feel that the guest is warmly welcome here. The food is delicious, although the portion size is just enough in relation to the price. Restaurant very busy, as space is a bit limited but there are also outdoor spaces. Reservation recommended. Restaurant is enthusiastic and can be recommended without exception.

I can only confirm what Andreas S. wrote. Price performance doesn't match. The beans were overcooked, the suflaki were very thin and the gyros were barely seasoned. Card payment not possible, notice on the door; None. There are better Greek restaurants in the area. I had promised more based on the reviews, what a shame.

Very disappointing! - Poor value for money, hardly any seasoning for a Greek restaurant, small portions. After reading pretty good reviews about this restaurant, I wanted to try it myself. I am an absolute fan of Greek cuisine and have tried many Greek restaurants. The prices are well above average to other Greeks. If you pay just under 20.00 euros for a dish with souvlaki, bifteki and gyros, I expect a more than sufficient amount of food. When the plate came, at first it looked as if the portion of meat was okay. But only at first. I have never had such thinly sliced ​​souvlaki pieces of meat and such thin bifteki from any Greek in the last 30 years! That was a record. The gyros were also spread out in a single layer on the plate so that it at least looked like a good amount. I want to be fair, the quantity alone is not the deciding factor. However, I have never really eaten a Greek dish that was so lightly spiced. I found it bland and very disappointing. I was not impressed by this restaurant either by the taste or the portion size at such a high price. I certainly won't eat there again.

Here you can combine vacation and home. Service is very courteous and friendly. Price performance more than OK. As a welcome, an ouzo for the adults and a children's schnapps for the children. We hadn't seen it yet either. Children were really happy because they are usually excluded when there is a round on the house. The food was perfectly balanced both in terms of quality and quantity. The children's portions are also very generous, so that even older children are satisfied. In summary, all I can say is: keep it up...

Neat restaurant with honest and good food. Ended up here on a stopover to Croatia and had a lovely relaxing meal. Owners are super friendly and have a good sense of what is going on. Keep it up!

The food was very tasty, but the portions were really small for the price, so you could easily have more on it or choose smaller plates so that the food doesn't get lost on them. Friendly staff, a younger service person seemed a bit awkward and not very motivated, but okay, acceptable. But given the portions and prices, I wouldn't go there again.

We all had a good evening here. A little mishap happened in the kitchen, that can happen. But the service handled it confidently and generously, and you can't say anything against it.

Today I was at the Lindos tavern again. As always, the service was very good and the food was delicious. I can really only recommend it. Keep it up...

Restaurants comfortably furnished in a modern style. Unfortunately tables are close together. Apparently it's better to sit outside. Service friendly. But you had to ask for a forgotten drink several times until it came. In general, the waitresses seemed stressed. Unfortunately, the price of the food is significantly less than that of other Greek restaurants. Reordering was not taken into account as requested, criticism was not taken into account.

The restaurant is known for everything being fresh and nothing from the freezer. We made a reservation and the service was very friendly. The restaurant is on the street but we didn't notice much traffic. In general there wasn't much going on in the restaurant and the drinks, the salad plate and our main courses came really quickly. The food tasted super delicious! Totally fresh and the quality of the meat was top! I would have only liked vegetarian dishes on the menu. I've never eaten such a good gyro before. We definitely want to come back! 🤩😋

There is really authentic Greek cuisine here, the portions are not quite as big as you are used to from "Greeks", but the food is of very high quality, tasty and modernly prepared. The girls and boys from the service are friendly, on the ball and very attentive. A dream for many a catering employer. 😉 The waiting time is absolutely reasonable, but when the hut is full you should also understand that the employees don't have 8 arms. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, but be safe and reserve a table, the shop is very busy.

The shop has nothing to do with Greek. Even the gyros is sublime. There is no beer on tap, very weak, bottled beers are completely overpriced.

If you really want authentic Greek food, you definitely have to go here. This is by far the best Greek in Chiemgau. Everything is freshly prepared and not - as is unfortunately the case in nearby restaurants - used ready-made products. We would love to come back! Authentic, tasty, cozy and really nice and courteous staff.

Which Greek is running out of gyros??? First the order was taken, only to be told 10 minutes later that there were no more gyros available. Alternatively, I was kindly offered the most expensive dish on the menu. When I asked what kind of liver was served, the answer was pork, and when asked if she was sure she said “no, I could ask!?” Ultimately it turned out that it was beef liver, which I also liked to order with fries. What didn't come were the fries, just rice. After I sat in front of an empty glass for 10 minutes, at least one very nice and attentive waiter came who asked if everything was OK and listened to my criticism. I have to give him credit for apologizing immediately, even though it most likely wasn't his fault. Unfortunately, when it came to the bill, there was no apology or attempt or offer to make up for the numerous errors. Quite the opposite! Instead, the reorder, which was not carried out correctly, was charged at one euro. Very nicely located, but too many guests and far too few staff!!! Self-service, you stand in line and there are more than 15 people in front of you and then you have to wait again for your food!!

We recommend. Portions not too opulent but extremely tasty.....Addition April 2024.....made a stop at Lake Chiemsee on the way back from Italy. Since we were so enthusiastic about this restaurant two years ago, we tried to reserve a table. Since it wasn't open at the time, we couldn't reach anyone (I only noticed later). Then I got a call back at 5 p.m....Yes, there's still a table...great...and it was awesome again. Very tasty 😋. Not so overloaded and great service again. See you next time

We went there for the first time today, based on a tip from a very good friend who lives nearby. We go on vacation to beautiful Chiemsee twice a year, and we're also very good at Greek food, and we also have very good friends who are Greek and also have a restaurant, but top food, very nice people, where our dog was also welcome. We'll definitely be back, stay as you are, authentic and friendly ❤️

Really enjoyed the platters that were just the right size for 4 people to share. With the right portion size, you get to enjoy the dessert too

Ein tolles griechisches Restaurant mit besonderem Ambiente. Reservierung problemlos über Facebook/WhatsApp möglich - wurde sehr schnell bestätigt und ist auch empfehlenswert, weil das Lokal abends mehr als gut besucht war. Die beiden Servicekräfte waren super flink und sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und verabschiedet. Das Essen sehr schmackhaft, wir mögen es gern etwas mehr gewürzt, aber man kann ja nach würzen. Mein Mann hatte die Zigeunersoße und ich Metaxasoße zum Gyros, beides empfehlenswert. Einziger und klitzekleiner Kritikpunkt waren die Bratkartoffeln, die wir als Umbestellung statt Reis gewählt haben. Sie waren in größere Würfel geschnitten und wohl frittiert, aber sehr fade und haben uns leider nicht geschmeckt, unsere Tochter hatte sich für den Tomatenreis entschieden und der war superlecker - wir hätten also auch beim Reis bleiben sollen 😅 Alles in Allem absolute Empfehlung.

food was ok. nothing special. When you are used to "authentic" Greek this will maybe be a let down. I took the suvlaki, a lot of French fries.. 80% of the plate, the meat was very thin pieces. very big difference compared to a Greek restaurant in The Netherlands or big city. my son had the bifteki.. , which was very good! only way to much potatoes. The fish my wife had was good of taste the service was excellent 👌, very nice waiters, helpful. 10/10 we did not make a reservation, so we got seated on the road side. small town not to much traffic. so no problem. overall a good experience but I would recommend they would look at the suvlaki recept. Or overall less fries and potatoes and more meat.

Das erste Mal, dass wir beim Griechen nicht satt geworden sind. Das Essen war qualitativ gut, nur sehr wenig davon auf dem Teller. Für die Umbestellung von Reis zu Pommes wurde eine Servicegebühr von einem Euro in Rechnung gestellt. Preis-Leistung demnach nicht angemessen. Gesessen haben wir mitten im Gang und wurden ständig durchs Personal angerempelt. Schade.

Unglaublich freundliches Personal, wir fühlten uns sofort willkommen. Zu Beginn gibt es erstmal einen eiskalten Ouzo. Das Ambiente ist wirklich sehr schön, das Restaurant ist nicht sehr groß, wodurch es sehr gemütlich ist. Das Essen ist eine wirkliche Empfehlung, es schmeckt hervorragend! Hier kann ich nur sagen, machen Sie sich selbst ein Bild, Sie werden es nicht bereuen.

Sehr nettes Personal, toller Service. Sogar mein Hund hat trinken und etwas Fleisch bekommen. Das war eine 10 von 10. leider war das Essen nicht überragend. Es war ganz gut, aber im Vergleich zu meinem Lieblingsgriechen kann er nicht mithalten. Trotzdem 4 Sterne, weil das Gesamtpaket passt.
