Great inn in the old town. Everything kept in the medieval style. I really liked it there. I had a great evening on March 6, 2025. There is still a vaulted cellar. You sit at long, rustic wooden benches or tables. The service was quick and attentive. The food is cheap with good portions. Low waiting times. And there was also medieval music. The own beer 🍺 was also very tasty. I had a great evening.

Absolutely recommended, very good and exceptional food at a great price and with very nice staff! Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back!!

I was feasting at the Christoffel inn and decided on the “Prince's Supper”. The food is really excellent and even satisfied someone of my stature. Can only recommend it, thank you for the delicious meal.

We stopped in for dinner quite spontaneously. Since we were there shortly after 5 p.m., we were able to get seats. A pre-order would be recommended. The atmosphere is quaint, rustic and without any chicness. You have to like it. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The menu is varied and there is something for every taste. On the one hand, we had the daily special fire meat, which was very tasty and very strongly seasoned, but not so much that it hurt. Half the duck was crispy, yet tender. The red cabbage and the dumpling were also very tasty. I think the prices are cheap. A clear recommendation from me for this very nice restaurant in Erfurt.

Very cool location with good food. Friendly service, even when it's busy it doesn't take too long for the food to arrive. A reservation makes sense for larger groups.

This wonderful restaurant gets a consistently positive rating from me😊. Starting with the uncomplicated table reservation by telephone through to the friendly reception in the inn, through the service and of course the excellent food. The two of us were able to spend a very nice evening at 'Christoffel'. A table was ordered for ✌️ward - we were seated at a long table, next to guests we didn't know. This seemed a little strange at first - but it didn't have any negative impact on our togetherness. Two nicely rolled up menu cards that were meant to be taken away were ready to be rolled out in front of us. A quick look inside, chosen a drink and the service was there to take our order. As quick as our choice is, so quickly are the cups on our table. Taking a second look at the dishes, we decided back and forth and back and forth - the offer was so plentiful and tempting. Until the final menu decision. At this point I would like to compliment the chef again! - it couldn't have been prepared better. And first-class time management, despite the high number of guests - TOP!! On my plate, for 'The eye eats with you', an XXL dumpling / tender suckling pig / red cabbage & sauce. VERY delicious - a sufficient description for this food that says it all. Lavishly prepared, with a filling guarantee! And the slim thaler thanks his wallet for it! You were guided through the evening by melodic, medieval music playing pleasantly in the background - in keeping with the wonderful ambience. I would also like to say a big thank you to our barkeeper - he provided us with food and drink in a discreet, attentive and very friendly manner. We felt very comfortable and would like to thank you for the warm hospitality! A very clear recommendation and definitely worth it 🤚⭐️!!!

Despite making reservations early for 3 people, we were supposed to sit at a table in the basement. In the middle of larger groups of people who weren't exactly walking quietly. Conversations would not have been possible here. Despite there being free tables, it was said that there was no table available for us. The food has been generally good so far, but unfortunately the service has been decreasing over time. Super annoying because we couldn't eat there - not under the circumstances, unfortunately nobody let anyone talk to them. What a shame!

We really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant – cozy and inviting. The portions were more than generous, so no one goes home hungry. We were particularly impressed by the knuckles, which were so tender that they hardly had to be cut. The robber skewer was also tasty, although you should note that the free-hanging meat cools down quickly. The roulades were also good and the grill plate was huge. A highlight was the beer from the steins, which really impressed us with its taste. The only point of criticism was the grill plate: Unfortunately, the meat was on the grill a little too long, so there was no longer any roasted aroma. In addition, the portion for two people was so large that it would have easily been enough for four - a waste that we no longer find appropriate. Despite this small drawback, we enjoyed the visit overall and would definitely come back.

Beautiful old trimmed knight restaurant Rustic interior style wooden chairs & benches. Eating beer and schnapps from jugs or clay vessels on the hanging spit. The food is sufficient, unfortunately it was too cold, which affected the taste and appetite. But the service was very, very friendly and was regularly at the table asking if we needed anything else. PS we were there with a group of 20 people, that's why the service came so often 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 But despite the somewhat cold food, the atmosphere and evening were successful. And would visit the same location again.

Top food and always very quick. Very suitable for groups. Also absolutely recommendable in terms of price. I always enjoy being there when I'm in Erfurt. The seating is a bit uncomfortable for long stays and the medieval minstrels that sometimes appear there are quite annoying (and quite loud). But those are the only points of criticism; the positive outweighs the negatives.

We come from the West and often visit our friends in Erfurt. Our first stop when we arrive in Erfurt is the Wirtshaus Christoffel. The ambience not only invites you to linger, but also invites you to stay there longer. The service is very friendly and attentive and always provided us with good drinks. Even the boss recognized us recently and treated us to a round of schnapps. He's always very happy when we play there. The food there is to die for – spare ribs and half duck are a must when we visit!

I've been to many restaurants in Germany, but this is by far the best. It's a good idea to make a reservation in advance. It's a place with a medieval atmosphere, and the food and service are good.

Very good food at really cheap prices. Very nice staff and a fun atmosphere in the style of a knight's castle.

The Christoffelplatte was eaten for two. The portion was huge and would have been enough for four. Unfortunately, it just wasn't good. Preparation probably medieval: oven on full throttle > meat on until it is absolutely dry > oven off. Duck, roast pork and beef were all unfortunately disappointing. The accompaniments were OK, but the sauce was either burnt or flavored with something weird. In the main discipline it was a failure. The beers (Pils and Dunkelbier) were very good! Recommendation! The service at the table was top: everyone was very friendly, always ready and available and really “on their toes”! Nevertheless, there are only three stars for the service: the toilet was empty of soap dispensers, disinfectants and dry towels. If something goes wrong at work, it's understandable. But 3 out of 3 shouldn't be the case. Ambiance: Spectacular! Pure Middle Ages!

It's a nice medieval feeling. Everything is pleasantly narrow and rustic. The babble of voices (don't worry, not too loud) was nice to listen to. Like in the Middle Ages. If you want to take a short break from everyday life, it's a nice atmosphere there

Eating out in Erfurt as an Erfurt resident... Good home cooking... Good? Ohhhh yes, there is still the real Thuringian toilet here with homemade delicacies. Whether grilled, roulades or vegetarian, there is something homemade for everyone. At the top is the price-performance ratio. As Erfurters, we have a hard time finding the right place, but Wirtshaus Christoffel is definitely recommended. All in all very consistent. We thank you for many lovely evenings and would be happy to come back. Only recommended...

Christmas party at the Christoffel with a knight's meal - there is only one word for it ---------super----------- Knight's banquet with 14 people. Food was very good, waiters were very attentive, everyone was happy. Big praise to the team at the inn.

Well, you nobles, listen to my praise for the hospitable house of Christoffel in Erfurt! What a wonderful stop in the hour of our hunger - there we were served a delicious meal and cheerful entertainment. The maids and servants who served us were extremely friendly, funny and had a disposition that warmed our hearts. The feast was presented to us always courteously, with joking words and smiling faces. The grill plate for two was our desire, but behold, four seasoned men could be fed with this mighty cornucopia! A feast for the eyes on top of that – our table was well designed and lavishly decorated. The palate enjoyed such wonderful food and drink that every bite was a dance of delicious taste. A very splendid feast! Here a traveler can dine like a prince and think happily about life. So I say it with a happy heart: I rate this house, a jewel of medieval well-being, at five stars! Don't hesitate to try it yourself - you won't regret it!

We accidentally found this place while touring some friends around Erfurt. They wanted some German food so we went and ordered some house specials. We went there on Saturday, place was full, but surprisingly and untipical for Germany, we were seated right away, ordered drinks AND got them in less than 15 mins! And on top of everything food was not only looking good but was delicious. Otherwise the interior is decorated in medieval style, not very stroller friendly but manageable, wheelchair not sure, parking is couple min walk. We liked it and we're going back, definitely would recommend.

Unfortunately, I can only report that we were rudely turned away in an almost empty restaurant on December 29th, 2024, even though there were only two of us who wanted to have a drink. There was also the explanation that we had to prepare for the many orders. Too bad!

If you ever consider visiting Erfurt and trying German food, definitely consider Wirsthaus Christoffel. Beautiful design, cozy, very polite staff, and the prices are good, which is a rare case in the city centre. Definitely coming back in the future.

Wir wurden im Kellergewölbe in eine Ecke platziert, so dass die Bedienung uns sehr schlecht bedienen konnte. Nachdem das Essen serviert wurde, fehlte Besteck. Trotz Getränkebestellung wurden wir vergessen. Bei unserem Essen waren die Bratkartoffeln lauwarm und die Salatbeilage hatte eine Fertigsoße. Qualitativ nicht gut. Die Tomatensuppe war süß wie ein Dessert.

The Christoffel Wirtshaus in Erfurt is a great experience with a medieval flair. The ambience is extraordinary and very atmospheric. The selection of food and drinks is large, the food was tasty, and the prices are fair. The service was quick and friendly, and even in the busy pre-Christmas period we managed to get a seat at lunchtime without a reservation. Definitely worth a visit!

The restaurant was very busy on Sunday evening, but still super fast and attentive service. The food came very, very quickly and was more than generous. Goods and tasted good. We had duck and game goulash - both really tasty. Highly recommended!
