Wirtshaus Christoffel in Erfurt

Wir wollten uns ein wenig stärken bevor die Reise weitergeht und waren sehr positiv überrascht. Das Wirtshaus ist auf mittelalterliches Ambiente getrimmt, es spielt passende Musik und die Bedienung versucht einen hineinzunehmen. Ambiente allein macht noch kein gutes Essen. Doch: Die Portionen waren üppig ohne Abstriche bei der Qualität. Wir hatten Ente und Schrotbrot, dazu ein malziges Kellerbier bzw. Schwarzbier vom Fass. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und ich würde definitiv nochmals hier einkehren.

Hallo Wirtshaus Christoffels-Team, Bedienung Top, Location Top(im Keller würde ich aber die Decke schöner gestalten),Preise mehr als ok, jedoch waren die Fleischspeisen eher zu trocken. Meine Leber war aber perfekt.

..Waren vor fast 10 Jahren dort..einfach perfekt und war alles Super billig zu heute.. das ist aber mal so....obwohl die Preise für die Zutaten wieder sinken..aber Personal muss natürlich auch bezahlt werden

Unfortunately the food has deteriorated a lot, I used to always like to go there :/ Only the cheapest quality wasn't tasty, if only to have something to drink. Definitely not for eating anymore, what a shame!

Everything was very good, I am thrilled with the quality of the food in this inn.

The four of us were at the Christoffel inn today. In the afternoon we asked if we could book a table for 6 p.m., the answer was, no, we don't need that much, it won't be going on afterwards... Shortly after 6 p.m. we were there and asked if we had reserved, no then come with us to the basement... Where you sit at long tables with others. Mmm, okay. Luckily it wasn't that loud. The atmosphere is appropriate and also quite nice. Ordered drinks and food which came very quickly. Two skewers with baked potatoes, the potatoes were cold and the meat wouldn't have done any harm if it had been on the grill or in the pan for a minute longer. My half duck, with dumpling, red cabbage and sauce looked good, but unfortunately it wasn't that great. The red cabbage was cold, the dumpling lacked salt, the sauce wasn't my thing at all, it tasted like there was Parmesan cheese in it 🤷🏼 I have no idea! The duck meat was okay, but the sauce ruined it, I'm sorry. But apparently we weren't the only ones saying that about the sauce today, as we heard from the staff... I also got something from the table next to where I was a bit taken aback. They asked if they could still get cutlery, the answer was: if you turn around there is still cutlery on the table... All in all, we wouldn't go there again.

We had reserved, which was also advisable. Medieval ambience with the accompanying dishes. Large selection, large portions, very tasty. The staff was quick and in a good mood despite the many guests. Pets allowed. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Erfurt.

We ate there with a group of 10 people. Unfortunately, the noise was so loud that it was impossible to have a conversation other than with the person sitting next to you. That was a real shame.

New waitress who was a little overwhelmed, so one star deducted, the others were all very good and friendly. And one because the food was just a little more lukewarm. Otherwise top as always.

If you're looking for good food paired with medieval charm, this is the place for you.

The service was tried hard. But it was packed and therefore very loud in the back cellar. When you eat it you notice that it is cooked to a mass but is easily edible. In other cellars there are small or large parties. The kitchen can operate better and the guest is highly satisfied. What the tomatoes did in the salad is also a mystery to me, they don't fit the time, potatoes and grandma's dumplings are borderline. Although the dumpling was delicious.

Quaint restaurant, furnishings reminiscent of knightly times, portions for large appetites. Good value for money. Highly recommended.

A must visit... the medieval flair is beautiful and well thought out. It's not an authentic restaurant, but a very, very good one. Presentation, price performance and quality are absolutely great. And the ambience and the manner of service make it unforgettable. (I travel a lot in MA areas, so my requirements are different) I would describe it as an adventure restaurant with a medieval flair. For me an absolute go in Erfurt. Clearly a must-visit. I ate a robber's skewer. Very much, very stately presentation.

The portions are large, the food is delicious and the staff are friendly. The only drawback is the climate on the lower floor. It often just gets too warm and stuffy. But that doesn't detract from the fun. And you have to like being spoken to in “medieval speak”. But that shouldn't stop you!

The food was very good, unfortunately there were no more dumplings at 6 p.m.... The beef roulade was very good and big!!! Service was friendly. Ambiance was very pretty and chivalrous....!

We were there for a knight's dinner. People took a seat at long tables in the medieval cellar vault. We ate in the proper style using a wrap as a plate, the only tools we used were a wooden spoon and our fingers. The food was simple but very tasty. Despite the high number of guests, the service was quick and attentive.

Super successful meal, gladly again.

Food very rich and very good for the price. The service was very quick and we never had to wait long for an order. When there are tour groups in the basement, it can get a bit noisy, but we would always come back.

I am completely thrilled, the price-performance ratio is incredible and every dish we tried was delicious. What was particularly great for us was the authentic service, as the medieval flair comes across really well. We'd love to come back!

The Christoffel is a medieval-themed restaurant with a harmonious atmosphere, both in the dining room and in the “group cellar”. The service is quick, the food is very good and plentiful at prices that I would describe as lower middle range. It's almost a must for me when I'm in Erfurt.

Today we visited the inn for the first time. We were warmly greeted and seated by the staff. We had reserved because it was requested. It was also necessary because it filled up very well. The menu (a roll like a message) is really huge. It's difficult to choose because there are so many delicious dishes. We got our drinks and food very quickly. It was super tasty. The employees came to us regularly to check and ask if we would like anything else or if everything was good. We are happy to recommend the inn and would be happy to come back.

The restaurant is rustic and somewhat dark and decorated in the Middle Ages. You can also sit outside. The suckling pig with dumpling, red cabbage and side salad was tasty and reasonable at €13.90. Card payment (Visa, MC) is accepted. Drinks are a bit expensive.

Ate perfectly and deliciously, no complaints. On the contrary, a highlight of the restaurant visits, which is also thanks to the waiter, extremely entertaining. The whole team left a great impression.

Greetings, hungry people! 😁 This is roughly how guests were welcomed hundreds of years ago and the “Christoffel” is still committed to this medieval tradition in the heart of Erfurt today! I think the ambience is extremely successful, the service is on point and the food is very good! 👍🏻 If you are looking for an address for body and soul in the old town of Thuringia's state capital, this inn is the right place for you!

The only nice restaurant in erfurt .hahha .no but I love eating there. The price is good .please taste their honey bier .it's wonderful.

And now, for something completely different

The service was very friendly, we sat outside and you had to let us know that you were sitting there. The food was pretty good!! My husband had chicken breast with mushroom cream, salad and rice. (Mushrooms were cut into cubes and the rice came from the microwave!!) I had peppers stuffed with rice and gratinated with cheese and salad! The cheese was veryrrr little, but it was overweight with Dutch sauce! The filling was worth nothing!!! Both filled with rice in tomato sauce! The peppers were hot (good) but the filling was lukewarm!!! I'm guessing "microwave"! The dish absolutely needs to be changed!! I'm from Erfurt and we used to love eating there but the quality is no longer what it used to be!! I'm sorry!!

Great ambience, especially well-equipped inside. Large selection, large portions and good prices. Absolutely solid home cooking in terms of taste.

The ambience is something different. Knight look. Unfortunately, my meat was probably from that time too... and that of the people sitting next to me at the table was probably too. The side dishes and beer were delicious.

The grill plate for 2 was very good. We were more than full. It came to the table quickly. Great quality.

Absolutely recommended if you are a fan of the Middle Ages. The service is terrific and very authentic. The price-performance ratio is hard to beat. For us, it's a must to eat there every time we visit home.

Unfortunately the food wasn't to our taste mashed potatoes from the bag. The pork liver was floating in the sauce... and way too much on the plate. My husband almost broke while eating the bratwurst. It's a shame because the atmosphere was really cool!

You can have a wonderful time here... Great food, delicious drinks, beer from the Munich Spaten Brewery, very authentic ambience! A reservation is often mandatory in the evenings, but you usually don't need a reservation at lunchtime during the week. Some delicious dishes are only available in the evening!

If I previously gave five stars for an ambience, I would now have to deduct at least one star from almost all restaurants. Because the ambience here seems quite authentic. The service was good, the staff friendly and helpful. The toilets were clean and the food was good. The 4.5* is absolutely justified.

I ate roulade with mashed potatoes and red cabbage very well. I can only recommend it to you, very good and the roulade literally falls apart. And thanks again to the IFB (Institute for Works Councils) for the invitation.

Leider haben wir trotz Platzreservierung eine absolute Katastrophe erlebt. Wir haben in dem völlig überfüllten Keller zwei unmögliche Plätze zugewiesen bekommen. Die Bedienung kam nicht bis zu unserem Tisch. Die Luft stand im Raum. Es war auch sehr laut. Wir haben unser Essen und Trinken bestellt, obwohl wir von dem Ambiente satt waren. Bei aller Gastfreundlichkeit, so etwas gehört nicht zur Thüringer Gastlichkeit. Eine absolute Frechheit. Wir haben etwas anderes erwartet laut Bewertungen im Internet. Wir mussten das Essen stehen lassen, um diesem Folterkeller zu entkommen.

The medieval restaurant was recommended to us by many friends. It's worth making a reservation beforehand. The house beers were worth trying, as were the schnapps! However, you shouldn't drink the garlic schnapps alone ;).

The food was very tasty. And very friendly service. We will visit it again.

The food was gross, the meat was hard and the cabbage was too sweet while the sauce was tasteless and the dumpling had no flavor. I ordered tap water and the rude waitress ignored it and supposedly gave me ‘bottled water’ and I ended up having to pay 5€ for it without knowing I needed to.

Basically a very good and original idea, the medieval ambience. The 0.4 beer is tasty, financially almost a little more expensive, but still acceptable. I ate the robber's skewer myself. The arrangement is great, on the huge skewer👍. The sauce with it is really tasty, but not enough. Personally, I would have liked something fresh with it, such as salad. The meat was good and nicely seasoned. The bread with it wasn't that great. All in all, I recommend the somewhat “different” restaurant

You can eat well here. The service employee is deplorable. He is totally overwhelmed because he was all alone. But he mastered what he could.

I was very upset by the tea - the tea itself simply tasted disgusting, and serving tea in tiny 200 ml mugs is not at all worthy of a decent establishment. The service is very long and feels very inattentive. The food tasted pretty good and the inside looked cool.

We were there twice on vacation. You should make a reservation and the food is consistently good, the service is very attentive and the ambience is great. If you go on holiday in the area again - we will come back and can highly recommend the inn.

Wir haben hier gastiert, hofften auf wirklich gutes Esssen! Meine Frau hat Spanferkelbraten gegessen, der war wirklich gut, ich hatte eine halbe Ente bestellt, das war leider das Schlechteste, was ich an Ente je vorgesetzt bekam, trocken, die Haut zäh, man konnte sie wie Gummi ziehen, geschmacklich sehr schlecht! Hinzu kam noch, dass kein zusätzlicher Teller für die Knochen dabei war, den habe ich dann bestellt! Ich habe in meinem Leben schon sehr viel "Ente" gegessen, es gab natürlich Unterschiede, aber es ist mir schleierhaft, wie man so etwas anbieten kann. Fazit: Nie wieder, nicht empfehlednswert!

Nice medieval imitation atmosphere. Very poor service, very disorganized, waiters going back and forth without accomplishing much. When you enter, your first choice will be to sit at a table with people you don't know, even if they only have one table. Hygiene is about very medieval. Cuisine in line with the surrounding restaurants. Very rude staff.
