Excellent traditional Frankfurt food. Nice and welcoming place. Fairly fast service. The Frankfurter grune sousse is excellent. A typical green sauce served with hard-boiled eggs and boiled new potatoes. Absolutely recommended!

You manage your own Google reviews. I wondered why the rating was so high. An acquaintance who went with me gave it a 3-star rating and said he had been reported. The food was average and the guy who seemed to be the male manager there wasn't very good. He couldn't even say hello to us and kept shouting hello until we said hello again. When I said hello again, they told me to sit right in front of the door since I was the number one customer at the restaurant.^^

Our guests were thrilled by the charming ambience, and the kitchen team once again impressed at the highest level. Particularly noteworthy is the team that listened to our wishes and, with a lot of patience and professionalism, helped us feel completely comfortable. Weird, stuffy atmosphere. The food was delicious (especially the beef sausage and green sauce), but the ambience of the restaurant doesn't match what's on the menu, which is home-style cooking. The prices don't match either. And the map was confusingly divided. But the worst thing we found was the waitress, who was rather rude and deliberately ignored us. Who waters plants and does petty things when guests pay and want to leave, and they also try to make eye contact by trying to make eye contact but it is ignored?

If you appreciate oversalted food and unfriendly service, the Wirtshaus am Hühnermarkt is the perfect place for you. The negative impression is completed by a restaurant manager who stands out for his arrogant and arrogant behavior and is obviously unable to deal with constructive criticism. The inn is definitely not recommended - we will definitely not visit again. The whole thing is topped by the fact that the operators of the restaurant have been systematically trying for some time to have negative reviews removed, all of which paint the same picture of poor service and food. I personally know of several people whose 1-star reviews have been deleted.

We were able to have our wedding in one of the rooms and had a wonderful day! From planning to the event, our wishes were always taken into account and everything was implemented perfectly! We are very satisfied and will definitely enjoy further celebrations at the Wirtshaus am Hühnermarkt!

Every year again..... our goose dinner with around 30 guests, this time in the Schwemme, best service, best organization, excellent food, Zarges!!! We'll be back!

The service was really good and fast, the meat was fresh and tasty but some dishes could be a little spicier, the place is simple but cozy and the prices were also okay.

I ate here for the first time before New Year's, the food (goose breast with dumplings) was super tasty and really tender. The location is also pleasant and nicely decorated. Highly recommended.

I was so disappointed today. I had on November 2nd. for December 25th Reserved, three people for an early dinner at 4pm. When we arrived, we saw in the windows that there was little going on, all the tables were beautifully set. I was looking forward to the evening. We were led to the table, it was the only table where the dishes from the previous ones were still there, nothing was set. If you know 8 weeks in advance that the guests are coming, then that is the minimum. The table wasn't even wiped down. I would prefer to give it just one star because I was so disappointed, but the food was good, so that would be unfair. The salad used to come with bread, but today I had to order it separately. I'm willing to pay high prices for good food, but then everything has to be right, including service, ambience, etc. That wasn't the case, so it's a real shame.

We ordered the double veal schnitzel, and it was good, although the portion size was just okay. The atmosphere was cozy, combining rustic and modern elements. The service was a bit slow, as it took some time for the food to be delivered, but the staff was friendly. Overall, I think we would come back.

If you are Asian, don't step into this restaurant. You will be ignored and looked down upon by a dark-skinned restaurant manager throughout the meal. The decoration of the restaurant is elegant and comfortable, so we chose it as the end restaurant of our one-month Nordic trip. However, we were completely disrespected from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. The restaurant supervisor was not nice and did not show us a table from the moment we entered the restaurant. Instead, he pointed us to a seat far away and asked the staff to order for us. The only star I have is for the good attitude of the staff and the exquisite and delicious food. This is the only restaurant that does not give tips at the checkout. Fortunately, I did not waste tips on the restaurant because the supervisor was at the door when I left the restaurant after the meal. No greetings either, thank you for the experience you brought us!

Waren zum ersten Mal da, nach dem Besuch im Frankfurter Dom. Es fing schon an mir nicht einer so freundlichen Begrüßung. Die Speisekarte ist klein die Preise sehr groß. Die Portion der bestellten Beilagensalates ist sehr überschaubar und das für fast 6€, Schnitzel mit kaum gewürzten Kartoffelsalat über 30€ und Getränke schon fast zu New York Preise. Die Qualität war eher Durchschnitt. Durch die hohen Preise und nicht dazu passenden Portionen und Qualität nichts für mich.

Praticamente in centro storico, (a due passi da Duomo, punti turistici e commerciali, e con un comodo parcheggio sotterraneo che serve la zona ), ma situato in una piazzetta che permette di ricavare un minimo di distanza dalla folla anche nei momenti più frequentati, questo locale offre un menù non troppo vario, ma molto centrato sui piatti di zona, accompagnato da ottime birre. Il rapporto qualità prezzo, in ragione del luogo e della zona risulta perfettamente accettabile, fermo restando che non si tratta di un locale particolarmente economico, ma almeno non si rischia la fregatura da "menu turistico".

Gestern Abend wollten wir mit unseren französischen Freunden, nach einer Veranstaltung, noch eine Kleinigkeit essen. Wir bestellten 3x die Sülze und 1x den Lachs auf Rösti. Na ja, wir wollten ja nur eine Kleinigkeit essen, aber dass die Portionen dann so überschaubar waren und dazu noch teuer, das schockte uns alle vier dann doch sehr! Meine Mini- Bratkartoffel- Portion war dazu noch nur lauwarm. Ich fragte die Bedienung, ob sie mir die Kartoffeln nochmal in die Microwelle schieben könnten. Das passte dem jungen Mann vom Service nicht und als mein Teller dann in die (offene) Küche verschwand, sah ich dass der Koch tatsächlich missmutig die 5 Kartoffelscheibchen von meinem Teller kratzte und sie nach kurzer Zeit wieder auf den Teller drapierte. …..sie waren noch immer lauwarm…. Ich muss sagen, in diesem Moment kam ich mir ziemlich veräppelt vor. Teure Mini- Portionen, lieblos serviert und dazu noch genervter Service, das war das erste und letzte mal im ‚Wirtshaus am Hühnermarkt‘!

Este restaurante está justo al lado del casco antiguo histórico y está justo al otro lado de la calle del sendero del río Main. El servicio y la comida son buenos, y el personal habla inglés. Accedieron fácilmente a mi solicitud de sustituir un artículo. Tenía el besugo, que venía entero, con patatas hervidas y una ensalada.

Heute schnell dem Feiertag in Bayern entflohen und kurzerhand nach Frankfurt gefahren. Ein Bekannter hatte uns das Wirtshaus am Hühnermarkt empfohlen, wo wir schon einmal waren. Uns war heute nach Gänsebrust und so bestellten wir diese für uns alle vier. Schon die ersten Bissen ließen erraten, dass das ein Volltreffer war. Knusprige Kruste, saftiges Fleisch. Die Knödel schmeckten hausgemacht und sahen auch so aus, das Sößchen (ausreichend) mit der pflaumigen Beilage versüßte zusätzlich unsere Gaumen. Alles Drumherum top! Freundliche und flotte Bedienung, auch eine schöne Getränkeauswahl, zivile Preise, ganz zu schweigen vom attraktiven Ambiente. Die Fahrt hat sich gelohnt! Das wird wiederholt.

If you are visiting Frankfurt and like schnitzel, you have to stop here. Simply delicious. We had the Frankfurter Schnitzel (made from veal). That was really good and tasty. Very thin and nicely dressed. Mega potato salad as a side dish. Delicious draft beer. Friendly and good service. If we visit Frankfurt again, it is already clear where we will eat schnitzel again.

We were in Frankfurt again last weekend and visited the Wirtshaus am Hühnermarkt after our shopping tour. The homemade “Frankfurter Bauernsülze” and the “Frankfurter Tafelspitz” were an absolute delight. Upon request and because we didn't know what it was, we were allowed to try the “Frankfurter Grüne Sauce”. Fabulous! We'll definitely be back and we'll definitely have this dish. 5 stars and repeat a must :)

We were traveling with a group of 10 French friends and although the city center was relatively full, we found a table for the whole group with the help of the very helpful service manager. Our waiter, with his charm, served us patiently and yet very quickly and well. Despite the busyness, the food came to the table hot and fresh and my visitors were happy and enthusiastic. We particularly recommend the Frankfurt green sauce and the apple strudel.

In the evening we went to the tavern at Hühnermarkt with a couple we were friends with. The daily recommendation was roast pork, Frankfurter and Wiener schnitzel and, from pork, a juicy knuckle. In a cozy tavern atmosphere, the friendly service is attentive and quick. Quick drink service and adequate serving of food, everything was perfect. The dishes themselves were very tasty and plentiful, fresh and a poem for lovers of hearty food. Conclusion: If you want to eat typical Hessian food at reasonable prices, you should pay a visit to the Wirtshaus am Hühnermarkt in Frankfurt's new old town.

Our Frankfurter Schnitzels were delicious and the service was as you would expect from a good inn. We were also impressed by the great ambience and interior design. Not only recommended for tourists who want to try the typical Hessian dishes and enjoy a good beer or cider after a long day of sightseeing or in between. But it's also a good place for long-time residents to get hungry in between meals or as an evening program or after work!

We can only recommend the Wirtshaus am Hühnermarkt. The four of us sat in a small, cozy corner. The Wiener Schnitzel, with the exceptional potato salad, was great. The Wirtshaus am Hühnermarkt has a beautiful, idyllic location in the middle of the old town. Good views in a cozy atmosphere. Toilets in the basement very clean and high quality. The portions are sufficient for my taste. The service staff is very friendly and accommodating. When the sun is shining you can sit outside wonderfully. The food was excellent and the price/performance ratio was okay for the popular location.

Ciao, we had an excellent meal here. In a great ambience with a lot of love down to the last detail, personally designed by Hans Peter Zagres!!! The food was delicious, the sausages were the best I have ever eaten, from blood sausage to white sausage, unique in taste and freshness. The wines were a taste explosion, we drank quite a few bottles. The schnitzel with the green sauce was excellent and only recommended. As a starter I had a beef tartare that came from the universe, the meat had an indescribable taste and melted in the mouth like butter. Gladly again and again! See you soon again, kind regards 👋😘

Probably the best "Wiener Schnitzel" I've ever had in Germany, the best white sausages beyond Bavaria, superbly made tartare, brilliant fries, wonderful wines, cider pints, brandies... the food at the neighboring tables also looked great. Everything I was able to try from my friends was also delicious. The ambience is very appealing, with lots of nice details. The toilets are well maintained. Staff was attentive and prompt. Ich hatte das Vergnügen, in diesem wunderbaren Restaurant zu speisen, und ich muss sagen, es war ein hervorragendes Erlebnis. Seit unserem ersten Besuch sind wir regelmäßig hier, und auch Familienfeiern haben wir bereits dort gefeiert. Wir können uns immer auf dieses Restaurant verlassen, ohne enttäuscht zu sein. Das Essen war einfach exzellent – frisch zubereitet, geschmacklich perfekt abgestimmt und schön präsentiert. Als Vorspeise habe ich den Räucherlachs auf Kartoffelrösti genossen, der hervorragend war. Als Hauptgang wählte ich das Frankfurter Schnitzel, das ebenfalls ausgezeichnet schmeckte. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich die Käseplatte, die wir nach dem Abendessen genossen haben. Sie war ein wahres Highlight und hat den Abend perfekt abgerundet. Nicht nur das Essen war großartig, sondern auch die Liebe zum Detail war bemerkenswert. Der Service war erstklassig. Unrecognized pearl...a restaurant that Frankfurt needs. Top gastronomy meets China and misses the Frankfurt guest. An event of a special kind took place yesterday “In the Wirtshaus zum Hühnermarkt”. The New Old Town, which is often referred to as Disney Land in the left-leaning camp of the Roman faction, has suffered from exactly this prejudice since it opened, that it is a tourist trap. Far from it. In the beautifully furnished inn, under the direction of Hans Peter Zarges, they serve the finest “good bourgeois cuisine”. Although the prices here are a little higher compared to the Restcity, what the brilliant chef and his team celebrate here is amazing. I even let myself be carried away with a “marzipan-like” one, which is equivalent to the Golden Buzzer from DSDS! I don't even know whether the entire menu ended up on the tables given what the friendly waiter with Iranian roots delivered, just the dishes served at our crispy desk such as salmon with potato pancakes, currywurst with big fries, the hand cheese, the two veal schnitzels with the finest greens Sauce, avocado salad and, in the finale, a dream of apple strudel with vanilla ice cream, it was a first-class Wednesday evening fireworks display. Plus Aperol Spritz, delicious Krombacher yeast and 2 white wines (Riesling/Muscat) at a good temperature to accompany these culinary delights. Everything fit. Dear “Frankfurters”. Go over there. You won't regret it. And remember, here too people are begging for staff in all areas. I still have a lot of faith in the young, hard-working waiters, who were clearly career changers, if they continue to work in such a professional environment. Please bear with me. We urgently need these people in all areas of the trade. Thank you. A holiday evening in the capital of crime ;-).

I was just surprised of how good the food was, actually. I tried a Schnitzel and a bit of "Schweins-Haxe" and I´ll be honest, it was really so delicious that I would have ordered another meal if it had not been too late in the evening and I didn´t want to be home that late though. I´d strongly recommend this location and especially the above mentioned meals!

A real insider tip for gourmets! I came across this shop by chance and was immediately impressed. I was warmly greeted as soon as I entered, and the service is first class - the employees are friendly, take their time and provide competent advice. I was particularly impressed by the food on offer. The selection is varied and every dish I tried was absolutely fresh and tasted to the point. I particularly liked the Wiener Schnitzel with the green sauce and the goat cheese salad - incredibly tasty! You can immediately notice the quality of the ingredients. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting, so you immediately feel at home. All in all a great shop with fantastic food – I will definitely be back and highly recommend it! We were in this beautiful restaurant twice. The Wiener Schnitzel was a dream, as was the lukewarm potato salad with it. Sure a little more expensive, but really great quality. The second time my Caesar salad was as it should be. We can only recommend the restaurant if you want to eat very well.

Fair warning: they are indeed pretty pricey. I do have to say that the schnitzel I had was very good! Tender meat with a nice crust that’s not greasy and tasty potatoes.

We came across this restaurant by chance on Monday - luckily!! We had a table outside in the evening sun, we had top service, I ate one of my best Viennese schnitzels, my wife had top asparagus with a very tasty green sauce, followed by avocados with lemon vinaigrette, the bread that was served beforehand was amazing (that Oil and salt as well) and my "small but nice" piece of apple strudel with a dream vanilla sauce was a poem at the end. The price was high - yes, that's true, but the food and the ambience (including inside) were definitely worth it. We can't understand some of the bad reviews in any way. We'd love to come back

The restaurant is located on one corner of the historic Hühnermarket. Service personell was quick and polite. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with wooden walls. It’s nice to go there But Im sorry. These prices are way too high. Frankfurt green sauce with boiled eggs e.g. are 22,90 EUR. I don’t want to buy the whole chicken. This is way probably most of the guests drinks something or have a coffee. Only few had actually food on there table.

Food is great, service is okay, it could be a little faster and the ambience is also okay, in the middle of the old town of Frankfurt it is also very chic, but the tourists are annoying. Of course it's not the restaurant's fault, but it's important to mention.

We waited for the meal for one hour. Unfortunately it was not worth it. Beautiful location but otherwise disappointing.

Un lindo restaurante con atención amable y en un precioso lugar . Lejos del bullicio de los turistas ideal para comer un plato típico. Comimos espárragos de la época, deliciosos! Con un buen vino y para terminar un delicioso Apfelstrudel! Sin duda volveré!

Haben an einem warmen Maiabend draussen gesessen. Lage und Umgebung sehr schön, nahe am Dom. Das Essen ist allerdings durchschnittlich aber dafür sehr teuer. Die Bratkartoffeln beim Frankfurter Schnitzel pappig und lauwarm, dafür über 30,- Euro ist nicht in Ordnung. Die angegebene Preisspanne stimmt nicht. Die Bedienung ist ein wenig lustlos. Nicht sehr empfehlenswert, ausser man möchte unbedingt die schöne Lage genießen.

A portion of Handkäs with music €9.80 and you actually only get a single small Handkäs. The double portion, i.e. two hand cheeses as usual in Frankfurt, costs €19.60. And yes, the bread that comes with it is also charged extra at €3.90...which makes a total of €23.50.....and the hand cheese isn't even pickled, it's just put on top of vinegar/oil and onions When it came out of the package... there's only one question that comes to mind: Is it still okay?

Excellent service, excellent regional cuisine at a reasonable price.

Location at the Hühnermarkt very nice, great atmosphere (both outside and inside). Food excellent (we had the Frankfurter Schnitzel). Finally a very tasty green sauce (probably homemade, not from the large ready-made meal bin like in the other restaurants around the Römer). And finally an Ebbelwoi that tastes really good (up to now I've only drunk cheap tourist booze). Service very good: friendly, considerate, courteous, professional). Conclusion: expensive, but worth it. Price-performance fits. Recommended! We've had restaurants around the Römer before, all disappointing. This inn has restored the honor of Frankfurt :-)

Staff are very rude. The food is not bad, and the area is very central.

Wir waren als Frankfurter zum ersten Mal hier. Es war leider total enttäuschend. Die kleine Speisekarte hatte sehr wenig zu absolut hohen Preisen anzubieten. Meine Frau hatte eine Bratwurst und ich ein Frankfurter Tafelspitz. Das war sehr schlecht mit einer wässrigen Brühe, wo man die Grüne Soße nicht vermischen konnten. Wir werden nicht wieder hingehen. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis total schlecht und nicht frankfurterisch.
