Paulaner in the Squaire in Frankfurt am Main

Very good portion and tastes very good too.

The rudeness and arrogant attitude of this restaurant’s male employee, who looks like a Turkish man in a tight T-shirt, are beyond description. In particular, his insolent manner when a customer calls him, and his direct remark implying that a customer should not speak while he is talking, are clear reasons why he should not be working at this restaurant. In many other countries, it would be hard to even find such an ill-mannered employee. I often come to Frankfurt on business trips, and whenever I do, I usually visit this restaurant because of its excellent food and drinks. However, in all these years, this is the first time I’ve had such an unpleasant experience. To be fair, a few years ago there was a similarly rude staff member here as well. It is truly disappointing that such a fine restaurant employs staff of this low caliber.

Until now, I've taken the train into the city to enjoy Schweinshaxe and German beer. This place is great. I enjoyed delicious Schweinshaxe and beer. It's a little far from the terminal, so make sure you have plenty of time. It's located at the top of the escalator. I'll go again.

Pleasant atmosphere in the middle of the airport.

This is a traditional German restaurant located on The Square near the long-distance train station. The haxen was delicious, and the truffle pasta with ravioli exceeded my expectations. Food is ready in about 20-30 minutes, including the haxen. I had a delicious meal during my layover.

If you're coming from Terminal 1, head to the Squaire. It'll take you about 10 minutes to walk along the corridor on the second floor. The Squaire is located at the top of the escalator on the west side of the station building. If you have a little time, I recommend coming here for a meal, as you'll be very satisfied.

Very friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere (supposed to bring Hesse closer to Bavaria 😂), moderate prices. The food was good and tasty.

The best way to finish off your trip. A meal at the Paulaner. My coworkers went next door to cap off this round of work; but, I came here again instead. Always have your supper here before going home. This is used as a reward to incoming and existing workers that need to go to Frankfurt.

Pretty good german fare when you're at the airport.

The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. The prices were ok, especially considering the location. I was impressed with the main course and dessert, only the salad was a bit strange, but I'm focusing on the positives of this experience.

Showed up at 9. Waited for 10’ for someone to show up to take an order. Ordered the two schnitzel for us and a burger for our daughter and the waiter said “kitchen won’t make a burger because it takes 25’ and the kitchen closes at 9:30. Ridiculous. Terrible service. Avoid.

We only had a drink at the Paulaner beer garden, so we can't comment on the quality of the food. The Paulaner Hell was delicious and served quickly. If you want some peace and quiet and a place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the airport, then Paulaner is a good choice. It's very quiet there, and there's no through traffic like you find at other restaurants.

The food was served late, but it was worth the wait because it was Haxen, and the beer was just okay. However, because of the waiter who openly sarcastically treated the customer by saying that he didn't calculate the tip at the end, I felt like my dinner was ruined. We have different cultures, so I wondered if it was necessary to do that. Because of that, my first impression of Frankfurt was not good, and I don't think I'll ever go to a restaurant like this again that only expects tips while providing poor service.

Good sturdy German food from the Paulaner brand. Quick and friendly service, nice decor. One of the better options at The Squaire. On the downside: they ask for a tip. They deserve it, but it's not really a sign of good manners.

The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly and attentive despite the large number of guests. The non-alcoholic wheat beer could perhaps have been a bit cooler, but otherwise a really nice visit, and we'll definitely be back.

Great location for a relaxing meal and drink. Even though the location is in a high traffic area, it maintains the quality and atmosphere of the Paulaner brewery in Munich. I was there for Oktoberfest tapping of the keg last year!!!

We had a delicious meal. The food and drinks were top quality. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The ambiance is pleasant for an airport restaurant. We felt very comfortable and will definitely stop by again on our return flight.

We had lunch here and were satisfied. The goulash soup and the Obazda (traditional sausage) were very tasty, and the prices were reasonable.

I had high hopes for Paulaner in the Squaire, but unfortunately, the food was a real letdown. The schnitzel was greasy and had a gummy texture—far from the crisp and satisfying dish you’d expect. The asparagus was cooked to death; it was so soft and watery I couldn’t even cut it properly. The potatoes were clearly not fresh—mushy, bland, and completely lacking in flavor. To top it off, even the beer tasted stale, which is especially disappointing at a place that carries the Paulaner name. Overall, a thoroughly underwhelming experience.

⭐ (1 star) I believe in treating service staff with kindness and respect, which is exactly how we approached our visit to Paulaner. We don't expect servers to be extraordinarily cheerful - everyone has off days - but basic honesty should be standard. After being seated, we placed our order with the server who approached promptly. When I asked about tap water and learned they only offered bottled water, I remembered out-loud having my own bottle in my bag. The server immediately stated I wasn't allowed to drink my own water. Despite our calm and friendly demeanor throughout the interaction, the server became increasingly agitated. What crossed the line for me was when he claimed Frankfurt's tap water isn't safe to drink - specifically at the airport. This is factually incorrect, as Germany has some of the highest water quality standards in Europe and recognizes access to safe drinking water as a basic human right. The federal government has strongly supported this concept and has even sponsored initiatives in the UN Human Rights Council regarding "Human Rights and Access to Water". Using misinformation to sell bottled water feels deeply unethical. After he left with our food order, we decided we couldn't enjoy a meal in such a hostile environment. When we politely informed him we'd be canceling and leaving, he appeared genuinely surprised - perhaps unaware that treating customers disrespectfully has consequences. We found a pleasant experience at Alex across the hall where the staff was courteous and professional - not extraordinarily friendly, just respectful. I hope this feedback encourages reflection on how powerful simple kindness can be in customer interactions, and how damaging dishonesty is to customer trust.

A nice Place in the Airport for Dinner and beer. For me it was Dinner and wine. They had an offer for a pork knuckle with potato dumplings and one liter of beer. My wife got the beer and I ordered wine because I cannot have gluten. Great food.

Amazing. Highly recommend this place. Everything we had was terrific from the beer to sharing a chicken schnitzel meal then finished with apple strudel. Everything was perfect and so wonderful to get this quality and service right at the airport. All for a reasonable price. We shared the main course and dessert. Seating was very easy and comfortable. Actually, the restaurant is already in Frankfurt 😉 i.e. it's a long way from Terminal 1 to Squaire-West, but it's worth it (if you want something hearty at the airport)...

You can eat proper German food at the airport. The seats were spacious and the prices were average. Schweinhaxe not only looks attractive, but it also tastes delicious, so we recommend it.

Good Food but during peaks more staff is needed.

The service is nice. The store is ok. The food is rather so-so. The soup with the semolina dumplings is a joke - it doesn't taste like anything, and the cheapest kind of industrial dumplings were also cold inside.

Overall the food was delicious. The service was bottom drawer. I would have preferred to give 0 points here. We had to wait about 15 minutes for drinks with moderate attendance. When ordering, the waiter looked around wildly and focused entirely on the guest. Overall it seemed very listless. When he gave us the receipt, he literally threw it in front of us - there wasn't even a goodbye. Absolutely unfriendly and unacceptable!

Probably the worst Wiener Schnitzel we've ever been served in a restaurant. For the first time, we waited 40 minutes for our food when the restaurant was quiet, only to be disappointed. Where was the light, golden breading? The schnitzel looked burnt and tasted rancid, like pork fat, even though we ordered a piece of veal. Offering such poor craftsmanship for almost €25 is outrageous. Why don't you hire a better chef?

It's always nice to stop here before or after a trip. I've always had nice service, the beer is great and the Bavarian delicacies are always delicious anyway.

It was good, the price is not too exaggerated yet for a restaurant that is located at the airport. We paid around €20 per person. The homemade lemonade is worth trying.

Before flying on vacation we stayed at the Paulaner. Eating like in Bavaria. The Kaiserschmarrn is highly recommended.

The portions are large enough and very tasty. Fitness salad with fresh fruits is highly recommended. The sausage variations were also very tasty.

It is a little far from where international airlines such as ANA fly. The food was delicious and the staff were nice, but I was concerned that the food was a little slow to come out. I had some time to spare until the flight, but somehow things were running out.

We were there without a reservation and had a hard time getting a place outside on the squere. It wasn't my thing because it was a bit too drafty. The food was just okay, the quality was on the borderline.

I was staying in the nearby Hilton, didn’t want to pay hotel restaurant prices and wanted a typical German dinner with beer the last night of my trip. Paulaner satisfied these requirements. It will not win any awards or be something that you’d go out of your way to return to. But the food was OK and the service was good, with prices a little higher than you’d pay in a non-airport location.

This Bavarian inn at Frankfurt Airport in Squaire West is highly recommended! Delicious food, Bavarian of course, good beers (including wine), friendly service, nice ambience and at normal prices. Whenever we are at Frankfurt airport, we simply have to stop here.

They have the worst Waiter in the world.

I had roast pork with dumpling and sauerkraut. The dumpling was ice cold, the meat with strange sauce was lukewarm, the cabbage was ok. After a complaint, a new plate arrived - unfortunately hardly better. Rarely eaten so badly, underground. My wife's salad was ok. The other guests at the next tables had also complained among themselves. Unfortunately not recommended! Unfortunately this has nothing to do with Paulaner!

Disappointing experience at Paullaner Restaurant at Frankfurt Airport After several lunches at the Paullaner Restaurant on the Square at Frankfurt Airport and a total of four Christmas parties with our employees that we spent there, we came to the conclusion that the restaurant has obviously already earned enough to neglect the well-being of its customers. Occupancy on Christmas days seems to be the only criterion, as the money “comes in anyway”. First of all, our waiter was very attentive and friendly. However, as the restaurant became increasingly overbooked, he seemed to lose his professional demeanor and over time became noticeably rude to us. The highlight was when he loudly and bluntly asked for tips, which made most customers uncomfortable. If you're already having a bad day, you don't have to let the customer feel it too. We came to end the year in a positive mood after working from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tired but motivated to spend a good time with our employees, unfortunately our expectations were not met. I'm aware that Square's occupancy is very high at this time, but for me customer satisfaction is what matters most. After this evening I unfortunately have to say: That's it after four years. In the future, we will go somewhere else where the satisfied customer is still the focus of day-to-day business. Since we have learned that Paullaner's manager is also working at other restaurants in the Square, we would like to encourage interested customers to stay on the train or get on and continue.

DO NOT GO IF IT'S PAST 9pm (2100)! 2 in our party were there before 9:15pm and was rudely reprimanded by waiter or owner? as to why they showed up so late and they cannot be served. Well, it's because that's how long it takes to get off the plane at 8:15pm, go through immigration, get your luggage, and check into the airport hotel! GOOGLE, read the multiple reviews here and change the times on this listing. They are barely open at 9pm, much less open till 10. Completely misleading.
