Rustic, cozy restaurant with hearty regional dishes, as well as schnitzel classics. The food was very well prepared and top quality. Portions are large enough and great value for money. The service was also on point and friendly. We would love to come back here.

On Tuesday evening we had dinner with two people. I ordered the knuckle with dumplings and coleslaw and my friend ordered the knuckle meat with spaetzle. The knuckle wasn't crispy all over and was tough and overly salty, and the coleslaw was still tasteless and all the spices were missing. The meat of the knuckle was dry on the inside in places. I tried to chew the crust several times, but this was impossible because you chewed yourself to death. The knuckle meat with spaetzle was also dry and the spaetzle didn't taste good at all. We complained to the waiter and the only apology we received was a glass of schnapps for each of us as a small compensation. A sensible host would have reacted differently here. We had pork knuckle in the Traube on Sunday and it was really good, you had a real orgasm in your mouth while eating it. It was over 10€ more expensive but that's what I call value for money and I mean it's worth the price. Maybe send the cook to the grapevine to learn.

We were able to reserve a table for 5 people by phone in the afternoon. We all had a starter soup and a delicious main course.

We could never eat there ourselves because we unfortunately had to cancel on two days due to illness. When we first made a reservation on site, the food served looked really delicious and the restaurant has a rustic charm. The prices are also fair. Furthermore, despite the two consecutive cancellations of the reservations, the staff was always totally friendly and understanding. If we are in Oberstdorf again we will definitely eat there. Back today after a long time. Very friendly reception. The food came quickly. My small portion of venison goulash with spaetzle was plentiful and very good. My husband also had meatloaf with spaetzle, also very tasty. So always happy.

Nice quaint economy. Very friendly service. Super delicious food. Not a long wait. We were here for the second time this year (we were on holiday nearby). We would definitely like to come back. However, it is recommended to reserve a table in advance. Unfortunately, such economies hardly exist anymore these days 😞

Prices are cheap, but you only get cheap food. Had the fitness plate which only consisted of canned salads and a turkey steak with vegetables and the vegetables were simply the imperial vegetables from the freezer of the discounter next door. The conditions were super nice, they can't do anything for the less good cuisine

Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive without being intrusive. It was clear that he cares about the well-being of his guests. We felt we were well looked after. The food was another highlight of our visit. The menu offers a wide selection, so there really is something for every taste. All the dishes we tried were excellently prepared and very tasty. What stands out is the freshness of the ingredients and the attention to detail that was evident in every dish. Overall, we can recommend “Wirtschaft zum Schmied” without reservation. Everything is just right here: ambience, service and cuisine – a place we would like to visit again.

Stop at a classic German inn in our beloved fatherland. There should be a lot of meat on the menu (it's best to delete the vegetarian options straight away)

The food was delicious and the service was very good for a long time until it was time to pay. I was with my three-year-old son and I asked the waiter if I could pay with a card and he said yes. Unfortunately I only had €25 in cash with me (my own fault). After the meal I wanted to pay with the card but my card (normal card not a credit card!) or the device (more than likely) didn't work. Then I asked the waiter where the nearest ATM was. He didn't give me an answer and became very humiliating. I even offered him that I would leave my things here while I looked for an ATM in Oberstdorf (I don't know much about Oberstdorf). I even left him a €20 tip on the table. Then I went with my three-year-old son and mine I took my bags out into the rain and got the money I needed from the machine. When I came back to the restaurant, the staff looked at me strangely and then asked me that I was back. He wanted to discuss it with me and I didn't feel like it I gave him the money and left.never again!and it was 100 percent not an error on my card.It shouldn't be that way because I'm a foreigner! Das essen war lecker der service war lange sehr gut ,bis es zum zahlen gegangen ist. Ich war mit meinem drei jährigen sohn da ich fragte den kellner ob ich mit karte zahlen dürfte und er sagte ja.Ich hatte leider nur 25 € bargeld dabei (selber schuld) Nach dem essen wollte ich mit der karte zahlen aber meine karte (normale Karte nicht Kreditkarte!) oder das gerät (mehr als wahrscheinlich) hat nicht funktioniert.Dann habe ich den kellner gefragt wo der nächste bankautomat ist darauf gab er mir keine antwort und wurde sehr demütigend . Ich bot ihm sogar an das ich meine sachen hierlassen würde während ich einen geldautomat in oberstdorf suchen (kenne mich nicht so gut aus in oberstdorf) ich liess ihm sogar 20 € trinkgeld auf dem tisch liegen.Dann ging ich mit meinem drei jährigen sohn und meinen taschen hinaus in den regen und holte das nötige geld am automat.Als ich zurück in das lokal kam schaute mich das personal schon komisch an und dann kam die frage das ich schon wieder da bin.Er wollte mit mir Noch diskutieren darauf hatte ich keine lust ich gab ihm das geld und bin gegangen.nie wieder!Liebe Grüsse : Viktoria Mike
