One point deducted for food because there is no chicken menu on the menu - only a children's menu. Everything else was very, very good - the children's menu was also tasty and large enough. These were by far the worst cheese spaetzle we have ever eaten.

Delicious food, value for money was also right… the quantities were also decent… The Almburger is a nice idea and also quite OK. Could have used a lot more cheese for the Kässpatz... The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was also very nice… All in all, it was a lovely evening and the Sennküche is definitely recommended.

Wir werden dieses Lokal mit dem unfreundlichen und verlogenen Kellner nie wieder besuchen: Als wir den Gastraum betraten, blieben wir an der Theke stehen. Nachdem wir eine Weile vergeblich gewartet hatten und kein Kellner kam, suchten wir uns einen freien Platz und setzten uns hin. Als nach ca. 10 min doch mal ein Kellner vorbei kam, wurden wir von diesem sehr unfreundlich angefahren, dass wir an der Theke angeblich an ihm vorbei gelaufen wären, wir aber auf ihn zur Platzeinweisung hätten warten müssen. Wir sind aber gar nicht an ihm vorbeigelaufen. Als ich mich um eine freundliche Schlichtung bemühte, wurde er noch garstiger. Er log uns an, indem er behauptete, das Lokal sei angeblich ausgebucht. Es war aber offensichtlich, dass es genug freie Plätze dort gab und nirgendwo Schildchen mit Reservierung. Soviel Unfreundlichkeit und Verlogenheit von einem Kellner habe ich noch nie erlebt.

Small but fine and great restaurant, typically Bavarian. Very nice staff. The food was delicious and was served quickly. Portions were sufficient. The dog was also allowed to come along and was even offered a drink.

Super nice restaurant, very good food, they have a lot of space but unfortunately few guests! This is clearly due to the location, because it is on a side street. Guys, take a look, you won't regret it!

Everything's okay, you can't go wrong here and you're welcome to stop by. But it's nothing crazy great or special. Point of criticism: you had to look for the meat in the gröstel, it mainly consisted of fried potatoes and vegetables. But whoever orders this wants a great meat and potato pan.

When I went skiing in Oberstdorf, I walked through the town with a friend in the evening looking for a restaurant. When I passed the menu from the old alpine dairy, the cheese soup piqued our interest. We went in and I ordered the cheese soup and the Holzer Schnitzel. The cheese soup was super spicy and a real taste explosion. The schnitzel was world class, I have never eaten such a delicious schnitzel with such good breading. The service was super friendly and the atmosphere was very harmonious and rustic. The next time I'm in Oberstdorf I will definitely dine here again.

Unlike others, the restaurant was open on Tuesdays. We went here spontaneously, without a reservation. We had free choice of seating as there was hardly anything going on (mid-January). I don't know why, the food was great and the service was fine. The ambience was typically Allgäu-like with Bavarian music in the background, really nice.

Not our day. Sat in a separate room, forgotten, food wasn't really good. The highlight was the salad dressing.

This was the first time we had been to the alpine dairy in years and we enjoyed consistently delicious meals with a group of 7 people. The ambience is great and the change of ownership 1.5 years ago is noticeable. Nice service staff, cozy atmosphere & great new equipment. From now on we will be planning a visit to the alpine dairy every holiday. There was absolutely nothing to complain about - very child friendly.

Food was very good, but the staff didn't make you feel welcome at all. At times it was unfriendly (maybe it was also due to the lack of knowledge of German and the correspondingly limited vocabulary? - although that shouldn't be an excuse for unfriendliness...) and I had a constant bad feeling right from the start, before the food came. It's actually a shame - it's not that difficult to be friendly and professional towards your guests.

Very, very unfriendly! After asking whether there was still a table available for 4 people, there was a vague answer that no one understood. When we asked politely again, the landlord or restaurant manager shouted at us so much that we couldn't breathe. This behavior is impossible! For this reason we would never enter this store again! Put, 6!!!!

Great food, great service. Very child friendly. Our 3-year-old daughter became restless after a while. The landlady then came and said: "If you color in the picture (the children were given their own menu that could be colored on the back), maybe there would be another scoop of ice cream?" After consultation with us. Great location to feel comfortable for young and old. Highly recommended!

The telephone reservation itself was very pleasant because I had a very polite employee on the other end who accepted my reservation request in a very friendly manner. I was there for lunch today and... Ordered and received 2 spinach dumplings in mushroom sauce with salad for €14.90. The service was good and friendly, nothing like that. Now to eat. The two spinach dumplings were each at most as big as a size M chicken egg. The dumplings were a rich green and actually had a neutral taste. I strongly assume that you are working with unseasoned frozen spinach here. The mushroom cream sauce, something like that doesn't actually work anymore these days. The sauce must have been mixed from the package, the mushrooms came at best (but that's no praise) from the jar or, I'm afraid, from the can. Fresh cultivated mushrooms are now available all year round. And a fresh mushroom sauce is not rocket science and should be possible in a restaurant kitchen. Now the salad. Three fresh green lettuce leaves, two fresh tomato wedges. Cucumbers are wafer-thin and watered down, probably from a wholesale ready-made bucket, as is the complete potato salad that tastes like nothing, as well as the celery strip salad. I've been here a few times over the last few years and have never had anything to complain about, but the food today was a devastating disappointment. What happened there? Was probably my last visit here.

Good price/performance ratio. The food was tasty, the ambience was a bit mixed, between Bavarian rustic and kitschy decorative items.

We were traveling as a group of three (2 adults with a child). Everything was great - from the ambience to the service to the dessert. Friendly service, enough on the plate - even in the children's portion - prices ok - what more could you want. 😊👍

Ich kenne die Sennküche seit 25 Jahren. Regelmäßig wenn wir in Oberstdorf waren sind wir dort zum Mittagessen gegangen. nach den letzten Erfahrungen werden wir nun trauervoll Abschied nehmen. Wir hatten uns zwei Essen bestellt, Semmelknödel mit Pilzrahmsauce, definitiv Konfinienzprodukte (pfanni lässt grüßen. Das zweite Essen, Schweinebraten mit Rotkohl und Semmelknödel (ebenfalls pampiger Knödel von Pfanni), der Rotkohl aus dem Eisfach vom Aldi nicht essbar, das Einzige was einigermaßen war, der Schweinebraten. Ansonsten wir wünschen Euch ein würdevolles Untergehen, auf Nimmerwiedersehn.

A very nice, freshly modernized family-run restaurant in the middle of Oberstdorf. There is traditional cuisine from the Allgäu - hearty and delicious. If you're looking for low carb or Mediterranean fusion cuisine, you've come to the wrong place. But if you want to eat locally and traditionally, you will be happy here. But vegetarians also have a good selection and every special request is happy to be fulfilled. The spinach dumplings are particularly delicious!!! The owner is incredibly friendly and serves with heart and soul. Highly recommended - and then preferably a good pine schnapps, then you leave the nice restaurant happy! Thanks!!!

Schnitzel Viennese style was inedible. Unseasoned and straw-dry, it tasted like ready-made schnitzel warmed up in the deep fryer. The fries were also dry and hard. And for expensive money. On previous vacations I always went to the alpine dairy and it was super delicious. Absolutely not recommended for the current owner.

We had reserved. Food was ok. Unfortunately the landlord was extremely unfriendly. In addition, every little extra is charged, e.g. a hint of cranberries (a glass costs 99 cents) 1 euro. But the shop is buzzing. It's just passing customers.

The ambience is a modern and rustic very successful appearance, which really appealed to us (interior). Anyone who is lucky enough to get to know the super friendly and helpful boss will quickly understand why everything is so great at “Zur Alten Sennküche”. A woman who carries gastronomy and hospitality in her heart. After our first visit, we made another reservation for the next day and were once again extremely satisfied. In short: very tasty food. Prices surprisingly moderate. Location is great. the people bomb. Offer is diverse. You definitely have to try it in Oberstdorf! Clear recommendation. Don't forget to reserve. Great food, nice service, great value for money

Spontaneously went to the old dairy kitchen in Oberstdorf and was extremely disappointed. Ready-made schnitzel that has never seen a pan, fried much too hot and therefore too dark. You don't hear any "knocking" from fresh schnitzel, fried potatoes are lukewarm. Actually had to send my food back too. Fries fried very dark, which indicates old fat. All in all, definitely not a recommendation, you can eat much better in Oberstdorf.

Der Außenbereich des Restaurants, in dem wir den Abend verbracht haben, ist einladend. Unser Kellner war freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken ist in Ordnung und uns hat es auch geschmeckt. Allerdings könnte man im Sommer auch mehr frisches Gemüse und Salat verwenden, da war recht viel TK dabei. Die Preise waren in Ordnung.

Die Haxe am Samstag ist der absolute Knaller! Ansonsten schönes Ambiente in den kleinen Häuschen draußen kann man auch bei kühlerem Wetter gut draußen sitzen. Der Service ist ziemlich bayrisch ;) aber wir kamen zum Essen - und das war echt gut!

Nie wieder. Hatten Tisch reserviert, waren 10 Minuten vorher da. Nach ca. 10 Minuten wurde Bestellung / Getränke aufgenommen. Nach weiteren 10 Minuten wurden Getränke gebracht. Nach ca. 1 Stunde kam die Bedienung, dass das Menue (Leberkäse) nicht mehr lieferbar wäre. Ob ich ein anderes Menue bestellen würde. Lehnte ich ab, meine Frau wollte daraufhin auch nicht mehr ihr Menue. Auf eine Berechnung der Getränke wurde murrend des Oberkellners verzichtet. Ein nach uns eintreffendes Paar wurde der Tisch zugewiesen, eine Speisekarte bzw. Getränkewunsch erfolgte nicht. Das Paar ging nach 30 Minuten Wartezeit. Von dem Flair der Alten Sennküche aus den Vorjahren ist nichts mehr geblieben. Es gibt andere Restaurants in Oberstdorf, die einen weitaus besseren Service bieten.

We waited an hour for our food and it never arrived. It was late and the restaurant wasn't close to full, but they simply looked confused when we asked about our dinner. The servers never explained what had happened and, when we finally gave up and began to walk out, they had the nerve to charge us for our drinks. This is one of the worst dining experiences my husband and I have ever had. What a disappointment.

The inn is located on Lorettostraße in Oberdtdorf. I was there yesterday with my partner. The ambience (outside) is nice and the toilets are clean. Outside you can sit in a small hut at the front, side or behind the house. We sat at the back, the ambience with large murals from earlier times and the arrangement of the tables was nice and cozy. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the interior. We are in Oberstdorf for the third year in a row but were here for the first time. We are thrilled by the delicious food, but also by the friendliness of the staff. We had the shred gröstl. This is a pan dish made from different types of meat (roast pork, meatloaf...) together with fresh vegetables and fried potatoes. You can also order vegetarian dishes. I only photographed an excerpt of the menu. We recommend the dairy kitchen without reservation! Very well priced, good food and friendly/attentive staff. Thank you for the great evening.

We chose the restaurant based on the good reviews, but were unfortunately disappointed. It was positive that when ordering it was pointed out that there would be a longer waiting time, but in the end it wasn't that long at all. The food was nothing special, rather tasteless, except for the Wiener Schnitzel.

Tk schnitzel was served. I wouldn't have thought it even remotely possible in the dairy kitchen. Invoice No. 9531 from April 30, 2024 Invoice amount €40.40 2 wheat, 1x Leberkäs with egg and 1 x Holzer Schnitzel! So much for the topic, we weren't there! Ask your friendly waitress about our Bernese dog Nala😉

It was incredibly tasty, the salad is a dream, we were there twice during our short vacation,...the landlady and her staff are very attentive, even though it was busy, the ordering went quickly...we'll definitely be back next time year again...
