I came here this evening with my wife. The telephone reservation itself was very pleasant because I had a very polite employee on the other end who accepted my reservation request in a very friendly manner. I'll summarize everything else briefly: Food: very good😎Ambience: feel-good atmosphere, country house style - just great😎Service: courteous, attentive and friendly😎Particularly noteworthy is the excellent price-performance ratio👍There was actually zero reason to complain about anything That means for us: old dairy kitchen - always happy👍👍👍❗️

I was there for lunch today and... Ordered and received 2 spinach dumplings in mushroom sauce with salad for €14.90. The service was good and friendly, nothing like that. Now to eat. The two spinach dumplings were each at most as big as a size M chicken egg. The dumplings were a rich green and actually had a neutral taste. I strongly assume that you are working with unseasoned frozen spinach here. The mushroom cream sauce, something like that doesn't actually work anymore these days. The sauce must have been mixed from the package, the mushrooms came at best (but that's no praise) from the jar or, I'm afraid, from the can. Fresh cultivated mushrooms are now available all year round. And a fresh mushroom sauce is not rocket science and should be possible in a restaurant kitchen. Now the salad. Three fresh green lettuce leaves, two fresh tomato wedges. Cucumbers are wafer-thin and watered down, probably from a wholesale ready-made bucket, as is the complete potato salad that tastes like nothing, as well as the celery strip salad. I've been here a few times over the last few years and have never had anything to complain about, but the food today was a devastating disappointment. What happened there? Was probably my last visit here.

Good price/performance ratio. The food was tasty, the ambience was a bit mixed, between Bavarian rustic and kitschy decorative items.

We were traveling as a group of three (2 adults with a child). Everything was great - from the ambience to the service to the dessert. Friendly service, enough on the plate - even in the children's portion - prices ok - what more could you want. 😊👍

Very cozy atmosphere as there are several small rooms and therefore pleasantly quiet.

After the renovation it no longer has the same old flair. But well done and not as overly modern as others have unfortunately done. Food great, drinks delicious and prices completely ok. Even though the cheese soup is unfortunately no longer available, we would love to come back!

We had a cozy dinner here. The staff is friendly. No long waiting times. The food was very tasty. The goulash fell apart just by looking at it. Absolutely recommended.

A very nice, freshly modernized family-run restaurant in the middle of Oberstdorf. There is traditional cuisine from the Allgäu - hearty and delicious. If you're looking for low carb or Mediterranean fusion cuisine, you've come to the wrong place. But if you want to eat locally and traditionally, you will be happy here. But vegetarians also have a good selection and every special request is happy to be fulfilled. The spinach dumplings are particularly delicious!!! The owner is incredibly friendly and serves with heart and soul. Highly recommended - and then preferably a good pine schnapps, then you leave the nice restaurant happy! Thanks!!!

Schnitzel Viennese style was inedible. Unseasoned and straw-dry, it tasted like ready-made schnitzel warmed up in the deep fryer. The fries were also dry and hard. And for expensive money. On previous vacations I always went to the alpine dairy and it was super delicious. Absolutely not recommended for the current owner.

We had reserved. Food was ok. Unfortunately the landlord was extremely unfriendly. In addition, every little extra is charged, e.g. a hint of cranberries (a glass costs 99 cents) 1 euro. But the shop is buzzing. It's just passing customers.

The ambience is a modern and rustic very successful appearance, which really appealed to us (interior). Anyone who is lucky enough to get to know the super friendly and helpful boss will quickly understand why everything is so great at “Zur Alten Sennküche”. A woman who carries gastronomy and hospitality in her heart. After our first visit, we made another reservation for the next day and were once again extremely satisfied. In short: very tasty food. Prices surprisingly moderate. Location is great. the people bomb. Offer is diverse. You definitely have to try it in Oberstdorf! Clear recommendation. Don't forget to reserve. Der Außenbereich des Restaurants, in dem wir den Abend verbracht haben, ist einladend. Unser Kellner war freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken ist in Ordnung und uns hat es auch geschmeckt. Allerdings könnte man im Sommer auch mehr frisches Gemüse und Salat verwenden, da war recht viel TK dabei. Die Preise waren in Ordnung.

Spontaneously went to the old dairy kitchen in Oberstdorf and was extremely disappointed. Ready-made schnitzel that has never seen a pan, fried much too hot and therefore too dark. You don't hear any "knocking" from fresh schnitzel, fried potatoes are lukewarm. Actually had to send my food back too. Fries fried very dark, which indicates old fat. All in all, definitely not a recommendation, you can eat much better in Oberstdorf.

TOP, only recommended. Get a place at short notice without a reservation. The dishes speak for themselves. Service extremely attentive and friendly. I'll definitely come back.

Die Haxe am Samstag ist der absolute Knaller! Ansonsten schönes Ambiente in den kleinen Häuschen draußen kann man auch bei kühlerem Wetter gut draußen sitzen. Der Service ist ziemlich bayrisch ;) aber wir kamen zum Essen - und das war echt gut!

Nie wieder. Hatten Tisch reserviert, waren 10 Minuten vorher da. Nach ca. 10 Minuten wurde Bestellung / Getränke aufgenommen. Nach weiteren 10 Minuten wurden Getränke gebracht. Nach ca. 1 Stunde kam die Bedienung, dass das Menue (Leberkäse) nicht mehr lieferbar wäre. Ob ich ein anderes Menue bestellen würde. Lehnte ich ab, meine Frau wollte daraufhin auch nicht mehr ihr Menue. Auf eine Berechnung der Getränke wurde murrend des Oberkellners verzichtet. Ein nach uns eintreffendes Paar wurde der Tisch zugewiesen, eine Speisekarte bzw. Getränkewunsch erfolgte nicht. Das Paar ging nach 30 Minuten Wartezeit. Von dem Flair der Alten Sennküche aus den Vorjahren ist nichts mehr geblieben. Es gibt andere Restaurants in Oberstdorf, die einen weitaus besseren Service bieten.

Tastefully decorated restaurant, friendly service, very tasty food

We waited an hour for our food and it never arrived. It was late and the restaurant wasn't close to full, but they simply looked confused when we asked about our dinner. The servers never explained what had happened and, when we finally gave up and began to walk out, they had the nerve to charge us for our drinks. This is one of the worst dining experiences my husband and I have ever had. What a disappointment.

The inn is located on Lorettostraße in Oberdtdorf. I was there yesterday with my partner. The ambience (outside) is nice and the toilets are clean. Outside you can sit in a small hut at the front, side or behind the house. We sat at the back, the ambience with large murals from earlier times and the arrangement of the tables was nice and cozy. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the interior. We are in Oberstdorf for the third year in a row but were here for the first time. We are thrilled by the delicious food, but also by the friendliness of the staff. We had the shred gröstl. This is a pan dish made from different types of meat (roast pork, meatloaf...) together with fresh vegetables and fried potatoes. You can also order vegetarian dishes. I only photographed an excerpt of the menu. We recommend the dairy kitchen without reservation! Very well priced, good food and friendly/attentive staff. Thank you for the great evening.

We chose the restaurant based on the good reviews, but were unfortunately disappointed. It was positive that when ordering it was pointed out that there would be a longer waiting time, but in the end it wasn't that long at all. The food was nothing special, rather tasteless, except for the Wiener Schnitzel.

Tk schnitzel was served. I wouldn't have thought it even remotely possible in the dairy kitchen. Invoice No. 9531 from April 30, 2024 Invoice amount €40.40 2 wheat, 1x Leberkäs with egg and 1 x Holzer Schnitzel! So much for the topic, we weren't there! Ask your friendly waitress about our Bernese dog Nala😉

It was incredibly tasty, the salad is a dream, we were there twice during our short vacation,...the landlady and her staff are very attentive, even though it was busy, the ordering went quickly...we'll definitely be back next time year again...

Wärmstens zu empfehlen. Bereits bei der telefonischen Reservierung eines Tisches für 6 Personen antwortete uns eine sehr freundliche und herzliche Stimme. Im Restaurant angekommen wurden wir gleichermaßen empfangen und zu unserem Platz gebracht. Die Innenräume sind modern und stielvoll renoviert und passen zu Oberstdorf. Wir haben uns gleich sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und erfüllte uns all unsere Wünsche, auch jene, die vielleicht nicht auf der Karte standen. Man nahm sich Zeit für die Gäste, wir fühlten uns sehr willkommen, der Gaste steht hier klar im Mittelpunkt. Von der Speisekarte haben wir 7 verschiedene Hauptspeisen und 3 verschiedene Nachtische bestellt, alles war frisch zubereitet und super lecker. Für uns gehört die neue „alte Sennküche“ künftig zu jedem Oberstdorfbesuch

Eines der schönsten Lokale, die Oberstdorf zu bieten hat. Tolles gemütliches Lokal, schönes stimmiges Ambiente. Superleckeres Essen, alle 6 Familienmitglieder fanden es sehr lecker und mehr als reichlich. Ein meganetter Service, sogar auf Sonderwünsche wurde selbstverständlich eingegangen. Für uns als Fazit, bestimmt nicht unser letzter Besuch.

Das Restaurant hat einen neuen Besitzer und eine neue Einrichtung. Ich kenne noch die alte Sennküche, die sehr rustikal eingerichtet war. Das neue Ambiente ist viel moderner. Die Speisekarte ist auch neu, weniger Gerichte, aber ausreichend. Mir hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Kellner war etwas grummelig, aber vielleicht war er auch nur überfordert von den vollen Restaurant?

Service very nice, location very nice and cozy. Unfortunately the food wasn't good. Liver cheese roast with fried potatoes and brown gravy. Schnitzel with fried egg and fried potatoes - neither onions nor bacon on the fried potatoes, the schnitzel was dry.

Delicious food from the local specialties. That involves a lot of meat, but despite that they also had a decent vegetarian menu. The food was very tasty and also for a very reasonable price.

I ate the worst cheese spaetzle there that I have ever eaten in the Allgäu or anywhere else. The fat was floating in the plate. The pure fat. Not edible. After a few bites I had to leave the plate. When I complained, they just promised to pass it on. No excuse, no solution, nothing!

Small portions, a salad plate with fried fried chicken consists of a few large lettuce leaves, 4-5 pieces of tomato, 1 tablespoon of potato salad, some cucumber and a few pieces of chicken - for around €16 it's not a cheap dinner and it wasn't filling either.

After a new tenant was active here, we tried again in the dairy kitchen. The interior of the restaurant has become very beautiful after renovation. We were here in the late afternoon, the restaurant was still quite empty, the service was as good as it could be. The Camembert we ordered was a ready-made product, but unfortunately the salad only tasted like mayo from a bucket. The spinach dumplings tasted ok but unfortunately weren't really warm anymore because the waiter left them in the kitchen serving hatch for quite a long time after they were prepared. All in all, rather sad.

Although it wasn't a long wait, we found a piece of GLASS in our Almburger (luckily nothing happened)! We did get a new burger, but there was no apology. The plate was just taken away without a word. Burger wasn't deducted from the bill either. Vegetarian portions are WAY too small and no one gets full.

Were in the restaurant on January 26th, 2024 with 4 people and were surprised, the service was nice, the food was very tasty, everyone had different food and everyone enjoyed it. We will come again next year.

Wir waren jetzt schon zum zweiten Mal in der alten Sennküche zum Essen. Beide Male war der Service top, sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen war super lecker und hat uns allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Mein Mann war begeistert vom Schweinebraten und vom Schwammerlschnitzel, ich hatte 1x vegetarische Spinatknödel mit Pilzrahmsauce und 1x Käsespätzle mit einem Beilagensalat. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Ich war in der neu eröffneten Sennküche und war Mega begeistert. Tolle Renovierung mit super schönen neu gestalteten Räumen, die ein tolles Flair ausstrahlen. Die Bedienung war super nett und zuvorkommend und für viele wahrscheinlich das Wichtigste, das Essen war mega lecker. Ich komme gerne wieder und kann es jedem nur ans Herz legen, die neue Lokalität auszuprobieren. Übrigens, im Hinterhof gibt es eine super gemütliche Terrasse und die Sprüche an den Wänden (lasst euch überraschen). 🙃 Ich hätte ein Rumpsteak das auf den Punkt sensationell lecker war 😇

Klein aber fein, Essen gut,mussten aber lange warten

Bedienung war bemüht, Essen war schlecht, besonders die Panade der Schnitzel, lieblos angerichtet, Pommes trocken ohne Salz. Insgesamt enttäuscht!

Mein Mann und ich können nur die höchsten Sterne vergeben. Wir waren in unserem 6 tägigen Urlaub 3x hintereinander in der Alten Sennküche. Wir waren total begeistert ein so tolles Restaurant gefunden zu haben. Super Essen, tolle Bedienung und auch ein tolles Ambiente. Wir können es jedem nur empfehlen. Wir kommen nächstes Jahr auf jeden Fall wieder. Heute haben wir uns zum Schluss unseres Urlaubs an den Almburger getraut und sind wie zuvor nicht enttäuscht worden. Die Kombination ist super stimmig und echt LECKER Es wird echt noch alles selber gemacht, was man echt gut rausschmeckt wenn man etwas für Essen übrig hat.

Noch Luft nach oben. Das Essen hätte mit wenig Aufwand besser sein können! Schade!
