Solid cuisine in a beautiful location – well-served without high expectations Yes, even in Rüdesheim, you can eat well as a local – and that's exactly what this restaurant offers. The location is top-notch, with a shady outdoor area that invites you to linger. The menu is decent, the preparation solid – averagely good, but without any surprises. My grilled vegetables were unfortunately a bit oily, and the lumberjack steak could have been more tender. Positive: Suggestions for improvement were received in a friendly manner by the service, which isn't something you experience everywhere. Conclusion: A decent meal in a beautiful setting, as long as you don't set your expectations too high. It's still worth a visit.

We had pork knuckle. The portion was generous, enough to fill everyone up. The mashed potatoes had a great consistency. Unfortunately, the entire meal was absolutely tasteless. No seasoning was used, and the knuckle needed more, as it was still very firm. And unfortunately, the tastiest sauerkraut I've ever had.

We ate chanterelles and tagliatelle pasta. All tasteless, and the chanterelles were overcooked. Too bad, and the price wasn't right either.

While visiting Rüdesheim we stopped here at the Café to try the famous Asbach Uralt Kaffee. We watched the traditional preparation of it. As dessert, we tried the Blackforest Cake and Applestrudel. Both were well prepared!

Super fun and cozy! We don't understand why this has a lower rating compared to other restaurants. The food is truly delicious, the wine is great, and of course, the artisanal coffee is delicious 😋. And the prices are also a bit lower!

Great atmosphere, very friendly staff, the food was tasty, and the sauce had a subtle flavor. The only thing I would criticize is that the meat was quite thin for a *lumberjack steak*, and that a 0.4 liter beer costs almost €5.

Disappointing and abysmal experience – absolutely not recommended Seven of us were in the wine cellar. The ambiance was fine, and the service seemed attentive at first. The appetizers – three sausage salads to share and a side salad each – were solid and initially gave us hope for a good meal. Unfortunately, the main course ruined any positive impression. We ordered different schnitzel variations, and all were disappointing – both in taste and quality. It was clearly a low-quality, ready-made product: tough, musty, and barely recognizable as a schnitzel. It was by far the worst schnitzel I've ever been served. We gave our feedback directly to the service staff, but received only a terse "I'll pass it on" – no apology, no accommodation, no attempt at redress. Overall, the whole thing feels like a classic tourist rip-off: a lovely restaurant that, unfortunately, completely fails in terms of both its culinary offerings and its ability to handle criticism. We will definitely not be returning.

Super nice place, we've been there three times. The service was excellent, and the food was too, except for the schnitzel with mushrooms, which wasn't that impressive. But I'd still come back for the tarte flambée!

I fell in love with the pork knuckle with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes from this restaurant. The pork melted in your mouth, the skin was crispy and the sauerkraut was incredible. I felt like I was at home. The portion was generous and the service was attentive and friendly, in a cozy atmosphere. If you are looking for a hearty dish that will make you feel at home, this is your choice. I would repeat it without hesitation!

The rump steak for 21.50 euros was a small portion, but still tasty. Dessert then rounded it off

A very authentic German restaurant with wine tasting service. The owner Lubo is a funny and handsome young man. We tasted delicious food and five wines in the restaurant. Everyone was very satisfied and it is worth recommending!

Erg lekker gegeten. We hadden de hamburger en schnitzel. Hamburger was goed belegd, schnitzel had ook voldoende saus. Bediening was ook erg vriendelijk en kwam regelmatig vragen of we nog iets wilde. Dus gewoon top.

Typical tourist bar with uninspired cuisine. The Jägerschnitzel was functional but not tasty. The goulash soup and the duck were surprisingly tasty. The side bread was charged extra and could have been given as a gift. P/L okay!

Friendly staff, it was very busy and they opened an extra room for us (two people). Food tasted excellent. Would go there again in a heartbeat.

We were there with 2 people on September 21, 2024. There was no paper to dry hands when going to the toilet. After 1.5 hours, Toi paper was put down. The food wasn't good at all. Totally over salt the knuckle. The chanterelle sauce was water mixed with something. When I wanted to pay and put on my glasses, the bill was snatched out of my hand and 4 cappuccinos for 15€ were canceled. A second visit is out of the question.

We waited an hour until we got drinks. We got a bottle of water, the glasses with the water didn't come until another 10 minutes later. The food was lukewarm, the kitchen probably didn't hear of any spices or salt and pepper. About the wines; we ordered a Riesling in a bottle. The bottle came warm, and when we asked, the waitress brought us a glass with ice cubes, which we were supposed to put in the wine glass. This of course waters down the wine; we undoubtedly expected something different from a pub in a wine region, especially if the pub has a wine cellar! Absolutely not worth recommending. The past positive reviews are incomprehensible and probably outdated. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, alternatively the Moselle is highly recommended as a wine region, so far only good experiences.

We sat on the beautiful terrace diagonally opposite Drosselgasse. In addition to a beautifully presented Rüdesheimer coffee, the production of which is celebrated in front of the guests, we also had a great meal. The homemade goulash soup was a poem, the hand cheese and music even convinced me as a Frankfurt connoisseur. We will definitely come back next time we visit Rüdesheim!

As much as we would have hoped that the food and service be as good as the place looked, we were disapointed with both taste and attitude. Tasteless food, slow service once you have gotten your food. With almost empty restaurant (only people on the terasse with still few tables left empty) we waiter 10 min for the check and only when almost ready to leave with our backpacks on, a waiter finally showed up and was even waiting for a tip. Would never recomend. Steak was without any Spices, snitzel with mushrooms- only good part was mushrooms and goulash soup with pork in stead of beef.

I liked the wine best, Rheingauer Riesling fruity 2022 from Weingut Christoph Pesch. Look refreshing and delicious. The pasta with chanterelles was also good

Beautifully located restaurant in Rüdesheim. The staff was very attentive and the Rüdesheimer coffee is served directly at the table. There is a good selection of wines.

The salad plate with salmon was absolutely terrible. 95% iceberg lettuce, 3 cherry tomatoes and 5 grated cucumbers. Some balsamic vinegar on top. The salmon mini and zero seasoned. Turiam rip-off to the power of three for over €15! Absolutely not recommended!

We decided on this restaurant pretty quickly and didn't regret anything. Food was very tasty. The drinks were a little too warm for the relatively high outside temperatures and some were accidentally forgotten. What was also a shame, the roof on the terrace must have been vines at some point, unfortunately it's just dead branches. Something could be done there. Otherwise all good. We recommend!

Went for an early dinner after spending a hot day in the area. The outside seating was nice, service was friendly and speedy, and we appreciate the help with allergy concerns we have. Food was very good, and serving sizes large. Recommended.

You can drink Riesling wine in a great atmosphere. Just like the wine made here, you can choose between sweet and spicy. The sweet one was very juicy, sweet and delicious. It also smelled like honey. On the spicy side, it was a refreshing and delicious wine with white floral aromas and citrus flavors. The white asparagus was also very delicious. Although it is located in an area that is crowded with tourists, the prices are not that high and the service from the staff was excellent. Credit cards can also be used.

I found it a bit inconvenient to order from here. Is it better for Asians not to go? I will never feel it again...

We visited the restaurant with the family today on May 31st, 2024...the service was nice but the food from all four of us was completely cold, we didn't get a discount and are deeply disappointed.

Price is ok, everywhere is quite expensive here. Portion is rather small, not for those who are very hungry. Children's portion is too small for children over 6 years old

The wait time was long. The salad dressing had very weak taste. That's too bad.

We weren't impressed with the quality of the meat given the amount of tendons, and the service wasn't particularly quick either.

I visited the restaurant last Sunday and the food was fabulous. We had the burger, the rump steak and the roast. Especially the burger and the rum steak are highly recommended!

We had a coarse bratwurst from the grill...and it tasted great! I can only recommend.

Für mich war der Besuch eine positive Überraschung. Das Essen fand ich sehr gut und auch Extrawünsche wurden erfüllt (zusätzliche Portion Sauerkraut sowie Speck und Zwiebeln zu den Bratkartoffeln). Preislich absolut okay, tendenziell eher günstig. Zwei Mankos: Leider kein freies WLAN und Zahlung mit Karte erst ab einem Mindestumsatz.

Der Biergarten ist sehr dreckig. Das Essen wird nur in der Mikrowelle aufgewärmt. Die Laugenbrezel ist kochend heiß. Das Personal ist freundlich. Die Toiletten stinken.

Das Essen ist mittelmäßig, es gibt besseres. Frittierte Zwiebeln schmecken nach altem Öl. Das Essen ist fast alles vorgekocht. Muss man nicht wieder hin.

Wir gehen hier immer Essen wenn wir im Rheintal unterwegs sind. Hier gibt es gute Hausmannskost zu sehr kleinen Preisen. Viele beschweren sich hier das nicht alles so perfekt wäre, aber wo kann man für 12.90€ ein Schnitzel inklusive Beilage bekommen? Es ist keine gehobene Gastronomie, aber dies wird durch das tolle Ambiente und die super Lage entschädigt. Wer gut und günstig essen möchte, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Wir kommen definitiv wieder 👍

Das Essen war sehr gut, auch der Service. Das Ambiente hingegen ist auf dem zweiten Blick sehr fragwürdig, überall im Gastraum bröckelt der Verputz von den Wänden, die Auflagen auf den Sitzbänken sind verschimmelt, alles ziemlich runter gekommen. Das Essen war aber sehr gut!

Wunderschön dort zu sitzen. Super nette Bedienung und das Essen war sehr gut. Für die Kleinen gibt es sogar eine Spielecke, so dass man in Ruhe sein Essen genießen kann

Waren mittlerweile schon das zweite Mal dort essen und man kann überhaupt nicht klagen. Es passt alles komplett vom Essen bis zum trinken. Wunderbar!

Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Essen sehr gut. Ich hatte das Nackensteak, meine Frau das Hähnchen in Senfkruste. Dazu jeweils ein Beilagensalat. Tatsächlich sehr gut und für einen Ort wie Rüdesheim kaum zu erwarten.

Nett gelegenes Lokal direkt in der Nähe der Drosselgasse. Sehr zuvorkommendes und nettes Personal. Flott und flexibel:) Das Essen kam schnell und war geschmacklich top und ausreichend. Es hat alles gepasst, empfehlenswert.

It was not possible to pay by card as long as the amount was under 40 euros. We were not informed about this before ordering, except for a small sentence on the first page of the menu, which we were made aware of only when we had to pay. This is not the way it should be in a place like Rudesheim in 2023. Will not return!

Geschmacklich war das Essen gut, und vor allem unfassbar schnell. Nur, die Portionsgröße ist wirklich viel zu wenig. Ich hatte Himmel und Erde, das Püree war scheinbar in der Mikrowelle erhitzt worden und schmeckte überhaupt nicht, der Rest war lecker. Mein Mann hatte ein Rumpsteak und hatte sich die Beilage umbestellt zu Pommes. Das war eine Mini Portion leider. Deswegen ein Stern Abzug. Die Bedienung war super freundlich, sehr nett und aufmerksam.

Die Preise waren, gemessen an dem was man in diesem Touri-Hotspot erwarten könnte, erstaunlich moderat. Essen war gut und schnell da. Etwas aus der Zeit gefallen ist, dass Kartenzahlung erst ab 40,- EUR möglich ist. Das geht besser.
