Not friendly and rather expensive.

A total rip-off! Not recommended! The clerk with glasses, a bald head, and a beard just wants to rip you off. Canceling the order would take 20 minutes and would only be possible from the main computer. The store has no customer-oriented service. The main thing is to eat our money. And no free seating, even though wine costs the same at the kiosk and the restaurant (operated by the same company). Why isn't there an open vineyard? Why doesn't the clerk say that a bottle of wine is cheaper than four glasses? Why can't he cancel five seconds after ordering, before payment?

We ended up at Restaurant Am Niederwald because my friend was tired after a two-hour walk, so it wasn't my first choice. It was also a little confusing at first as it wasn't clear whether we should wait to be served or order from the bar. The prices were moderate, which is expected given the location, but the food was tasty and perfectly fine. The decor was modern, a notable difference from the other places in Rüdesheim. I did find the cool lampshades with panoramic photos inside them to be a nice touch. The whole atmosphere was distinctly different from what you find in the town below. It was a perfectly fine place to eat, and it served its purpose well.

We had coffee and cake and it was very tasty.

Nine of us visited Restaurant Am Niederwald for lunch and had a great overall experience. The menu features traditional German cuisine—tasty and well-prepared. The view over the Rhine is absolutely stunning and definitely a highlight. Prices are fair and reasonable. Service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy good food with a beautiful view!

Mr. Küntzler and his team offer excellent service in every respect. We hosted our wedding dinner here in 2023 and were absolutely thrilled! From the lightning-fast response to our inquiry and the accommodating of our special request (halal meat), to the very pleasant and uncomplicated manner, to the very attentive service. You quickly realize that you're dealing with professionals. Many service providers could learn a lot from this.

I went to the Niederwald restaurant for an aperitif with my Swiss travel group of 44 people. We were given a very friendly welcome with sparkling wine and wine. Everyone was thrilled with the view and the friendly staff.

We visited this restaurant for a company party – unfortunately, the outcome was thoroughly disappointing. The food left a lot to be desired in every respect. The burger buns were hard as rock, the meat tasted like low-quality discount store produce, and it felt like it had been thrown straight from the freezer onto the grill. Honestly, I've never eaten such a bad burger. The other dishes – schnitzel and pasta – were also not up to the mark in terms of quality. The flavor was bland, carelessly prepared, and lacking any refinement. Overall, it seemed more like a microwaved emergency solution than freshly cooked food. The kitchen staff also didn't give the impression of having any culinary training – which was unfortunately clearly evident in the results. The only bright spot of the evening: The service staff were consistently friendly and attentive. But even that can't save the overall experience when the food is a complete disappointment. Conclusion: If you value good food, you should avoid this restaurant.

This is the most incompetent service I've experienced in a long time. The staff are unwilling to work and completely overwhelmed. We witnessed a scene at the next table—the poor customers, really. It was probably the manager who was verbally behaving completely inappropriately. But you often read here that the gentleman is a bit choleric. So, nothing new. It was the first and last time we were there.

Today we celebrated a very special day with family and friends in the Restaurant am Niederwald. The phenomenal view is made into a very special experience by the exceptionally friendly and warm service in the restaurant! We enjoyed a wonderful meal at a great price-performance ratio. Rump steak and asparagus from the region were simply outstanding and the burgers were also absolutely convincing! A more than successful afternoon for all of us!!! Many thanks to the great team, we will definitely be back ❤️

I can fully recommend the restaurant, the food and, above all, the ambience and location. Served by friendly staff, we received drinks and food very quickly. The asparagus soup was a poem and the fresh bread with it was excellent. We packed up the three remaining slices and took them with us. The portions are large and nicely prepared. The price and performance are right here. We will be very happy to come back very soon.

Price is high - but justified given the location! Great view and very nice staff. Everything was very tasty and beautifully presented. Portions are good too. Price a bit high - but as I said: great location. And if the quality is right, then we're happy to pay a little more!

A bratwurst in bread for €5.60 is a disgrace. I calculated the whole thing and came up with a maximum price of, if you're fair, €4-4.50 and no more. The prices are clearly determined by the fact that you have a unique selling point and thus rip off customers. Even worse than the food prices are the drink prices.

Conveniently located next to the Niederwald monument. Really impressed with the food as the prices were lower than most places. English menus, super friendly and attentive staff. Has seats inside and outside. Paid 70 Euros for food and drinks for 4 people. Highly recommend this place.

My husband and I visited this restaurant in the afternoon and absolutely loved it! The staff was incredibly friendly and really took the time to look after us. The boss and the service staff were super warm and created a great atmosphere. The food was simply great – fresh, tasty and perfectly seasoned. We really enjoyed it and felt completely comfortable. We can only recommend this restaurant.

Very nice service and very reasonable prices for good portions

Unfortunately I can't praise the outdoor dining here! I ate a cherry crumble cake there for the first time today! I have to admit, yes streusel tends to be dry, but with respect to the kitchen, neither the taste nor the consistency nor the portion was good! The cheesecake didn't excite my friend, who has quite good taste either! The café was absolutely mediocre, so I hope this isn't the standard because I can't recommend it in good conscience!

We celebrated my birthday here yesterday with brunch. I can only thank you again for a wonderful birthday!! It was great. Delicious food, well prepared and super friendly and, above all, attentive service. Hats off, you were great.

Fantastic views to be absorbed over the Rhein and Rüdesheim. Food was of excellent quality and the service we received was faultless, the atmosphere was quite sterile and could have done with some background music.

A great cozy restaurant with friendly service. Delicious food - especially deer burgers and game goulash from the autumn menu, plus a plentiful selection of local wine. Absolutely recommended!

It's easy to stay here and sit comfortably even in warm temperatures. There is a small breeze and there are large parasols. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and delivered quickly. What is positive is that the boss sources his ingredients from the region and from local companies and thus supports them. I'd be happy to pay a few euros more for that. There's everything on the menu for large and small appetites, and the burgers are highly recommended.

On the large, shaded and beautifully landscaped terrace you can relax wonderfully with a fantastic view over the vines and the Rhine. Unwind with a good glass of wine and regional dishes (especially the burgers are recommended!)... simply wonderful. This place is perfect if there are musical highlights, then you can sit there for hours and listen. The staff is friendly and on the ball, there are no long waiting times. And when the restaurant kitchen closes, a food truck is still available. You don't go hungry or thirsty here. If the cable car has already completed its last journey, you can simply walk back through the vineyards. I really enjoy being there and often, so a clear recommendation based on many visits.

Here too there are five stars for everything and even six stars for the service staff. Many thanks to Thomas for looking after us so well 💯 Conclusion I spoke to the boss on the phone two and a half months ago and ordered a place for ten people. Everything went perfectly and the food was great too. Please keep it up because it makes gastronomy really fun. Leider sehr unhoefliche und brueske Bedienung bei exklusiver Lage ( einzigstes Outdoor Buffet und Verkaufstresen) Zum Beispiel auf Frage nach Leitungswasser “ wir sind zum verkaufen hier” . Also Mineralwasser zum Kaffee gekauft in Pfandflaschen, fuer die der Pfand nicht gegeben wird bei Rueckgabe. Sehr unangenehmes Erlebnis mit diesem Paar.

I was there on a Wednesday and unfortunately couldn't eat here... But the location and the look of the facility were very nice!

We spontaneously drove to the restaurant and looked on the homepage to see that it was open. When we arrived, the restaurant was closed without giving any reason. Only the beer garden was open (but there are only pretzels and sausage here - we were looking forward to the veggie burger). There was a long queue there and the guests' food was served according to a waiting list. Many people shook the door of the restaurant looking for clues as to why it was closed - a note would have been nice OR - even better - a notice on the homepage that it was closed! Today is excellent weather for excursions and all hell is breaking loose.

Restaurant run by people with passion, professional and very nice service. The location of the restaurant is very impressive, the view from the terrace is breathtaking. I recommend it to anyone who will be in the area .

We were guests on a Saturday with eight people and had a table outside. The service (a tall man with a beard) was great: nice, quick, uncomplicated and attentive. I was impressed by his confident handling of an impudent and unpleasant female guest at the next table! Food is very tasty, selection is good, drinks were cold and came quickly. Parasols are huge, chairs are comfortable. Card payment is possible. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO RESERVE IN ADVANCE, this can easily be done via the website. One star deducted because you have to pay €1 for the toilet, even though the lady who collects doesn't clean it.

Boss rude if you say something in a normal tone it immediately means I'm rude even though I spoke in a normal tone!!!! And if I wanted to get it in a bottle, when I asked I was immediately told to give it to the employee. I have never experienced anything so rude in my entire life and I pass many restaurants but never here again!!!! Juice shop to the power of 10🤬🤬🤬🤬 I drive to a rest stop every day, there are around 1,500 of them a year, take a break and stay overnight, but you as the boss don't do that at all!!!! And my tone was normal, I could have reacted differently!!!! But I won't discuss with such ignorant people anymore - it was the last time!!!! PS Normally - 10 stars!!!!

Very unfriendly!!! Customer orientation is zero!!! Boss under the sun!!! Yells at customers and if there are misunderstandings you become aggressive!!! Preferably 0 stars for such a juice shop!!! In response to the company's response...I didn't even speak to the staff, I just heard how they treat customers and then decided that I wouldn't spend a cent there!

On August 3rd, 2024 we had a family celebration with 30 people. We were served brilliantly and had the whole area to ourselves, as the cable car stopped running after 7 p.m. An unforgettable evening with a view you won't forget. Many thanks to Mr. Küntzler and his team for responding to all requests in an uncomplicated manner.

We, my 2 children (1 & 4 years old) and my mother-in-law had lunch in the restaurant on the terrace today. I don't need to write anything about the fantastic view. The service is very attentive and super nice! A children's chair was immediately brought to me with the children's cards with crayons! 10 stars for the children's service!!!! I also ordered something for the children before I could look at the cards myself - it took less than 10 minutes - the schnitzel for my son with fries arrived!!! The little one was so happy and ate everything! We ordered a burger and the vegan burger. Delicious!!!! Both recommended! Unfortunately I can't give 10 stars - There are only 5 to choose from! A top address for families! Thank you very much for food and drink!!!

The sun terrace, with its fantastic view, literally invites you to linger. There is a self-service area with small dishes and an area with service. The menu is balanced and the service is very friendly. Waiting times are short and the food is very good. I think value for money is absolutely ok.

Unfortunately the owner wasn't very friendly to me. When I asked for a takeaway coffee, he explained that there was no financial benefit to him in offering this service. The tone was unpleasant, although the food was acceptable.

Wir waren mit der Reisegruppe 50 Personen auf dem Niederwald und die Mittagspause war für alle Gäste und selbst auch für uns mehr als zufriedenstellend. Service super, das Essen prima - die Gäste haben sich bei mir selbst fast alle einzeln bedankt - "ich hätte sehr gut gekocht"!! Ordentlich gedeckt, flexibel und alles in allem ein gelungener Programmpunkt in unserer Tagesfahrt an den Rhein. Gerne wieder denn Alles in Allem ist das Niederwald ein tolles Ausflugsziel mit entsprechendem Aufenthalt geworden. LG Roswitha Raab

I had ordered a table for 4 people, 2 of them in wheelchairs. My request to sit outside when the weather was nice with enough space for the wheelchairs was implemented perfectly. We were able to enjoy our food with a wonderful view of the temple and the Rhine. The service was super attentive and friendly, and the clear menu pleasantly met our expectations. A request to those responsible for the toilets: Please equip the disabled toilet/changing room with disinfectant and a closed container for hygiene waste.

The view is a dream. Cheesecake and raspberry cake. Plus an ice cream parlor. The table was reserved but if we asked we could use it for an hour. This is customer service. Very friendly staff U cake 🍰 very very tasty.

Incredibly unfriendly staff. Guests with children were evicted because they were unwanted. “A child would have thrown down a cutlery tray in the past, so you don’t want those (children) in your shop.” Absolute impudence, just disgusting for us as other guests to watch. In the other answers from the store's CEO it is also noticeable how many negative reviewers would supposedly “lick the cutlery”. I am shocked by such behavior, unprofessional and inappropriate. Stay away from this imposition at all costs!!!

We made reservations for 11 people at short notice. The service was very friendly, there was a little activity for the children and both drinks and food were served quickly.

We had a lovely meal and were served by Ania who spoke very good English and was really friendly. The pulled pork burger was lovely with a beer in the sunshine, and Ania described the bee sting cake perfectly - it was delicious. We then finished with a perfectly prepared Rudesheim coffee. We went again on Wednesday but unfortunately the restaurant was closed. But it must have been good to want to bog back the next day!

Grotesquely unfriendly employee at the kiosk. Prices are steep, grill on Father's Day is only suitable for those who are patient. After queuing for a long time, I asked the waitress at the kiosk what kind of juices they had. She replied “just read the menu!”. I posted a photo of this card here. Even if I had stood there it was barely readable. In any case, I said that I wasn't queuing there and that she should please tell me which spritzer they had. She said I didn't have time for that and started taking the order from the person behind me. Something so absurd! Why not just hang a little card on the counter??? I then managed to order 3 spritzers and three bratwursts and paid €29.50 for them. Unfortunately, the bratwurst wasn't finished due to a barely functional designer grill. Before I got into another fight with the unfriendly lady, we had a beef sausage.

We have had lunch here a few times and are very satisfied. The view is very nice and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The service is nice, I can only recommend it.

We had reserved for 10 people. When we arrived, we wandered around the outside area somewhat aimlessly and didn't know what to do next. An employee from the kiosk then helped us. Everything was already prepared at our table. Drinks and food were consumed quickly. The children received extra painting supplies. The view is fantastic! We were very positively surprised by the food, an extra compliment to the kitchen. Conclusion: An all-round successful Mother's Day and we'll be happy to come back.

Vorsicht ! Beim Kauf von Getränken in einer Pfandflasche an der Außentheke wird ihnen richtigerweise das Pfand mitberechnet. Bei Rückgabe des Leergutes erhalten Sie das Pfand nicht zurück. Lediglich das Glaspfand für Biergläser usw. wird erstattet.

We were turned away at 5:30 p.m. by a super unfriendly employee. We just wanted a bottle of water on a 30 degree day. The woman missed it. She was super unfriendly and told us to get lost and even got physical by slightly pushing us away. So that sucks, but instead of the other colleagues being better. We hardly speak to others in the store Employees say exactly the same thing. So with all due respect, just because they're about to finish work doesn't mean that every employee can be disrespectful. Such people should be taught to be friendly, because no matter who wants to sit there, they should know that the people who serve them are behaving badly.

Unfortunately I can't rate the food and drink, but I can rate the service and it was subpar! The specialists were completely overwhelmed and the so-called boss was completely rude and cheeky. I will never set foot in this store again. The so-called boss should do another job and not take his frustration out on his guests, because this shop apparently doesn't know hospitality.

I would like to give zero stars for this completely unfriendly shop! Feel like Surah An Nasr refined with gold on the weekend. We come with 14 people who all want to eat something and are sent away because we have one seat, which is ridiculous

Use the outdoor terrace and enjoy the view. The toilets were also free to use. It was a good place for a break.

Absolutely fantastic place! We had a large group of nearly 40 people and reserved in advance. The restaurant kindly sent us menu in advance so that we don’t wait for too long for our meals on the day. The food was delicious, lots of vegetarian and even vegan options. Pleasantly surprised by decaf latte. Stuff was very fast, responsive and friendly. Highly recommended!

It's now been a year since we said yes in the Niederwaldtempel and then celebrated in the Am Niederwald restaurant. The Niederwald team gave us and our guests a wonderful evening. Everyone always looks back fondly on this wonderful day and we have goosebumps. Thank you Am Niederwald!

Neither the food nor the cake is homemade, even though it is advertised as such. They don't care about the environment either, the used glass is not separated, but everything is disposed of in one container. Typical tourist trap.

Nice place, inside and out. Delicious food, everything homemade and fresh, nice quick service even when it's full. Clean toilets. The child was given a coloring page and pens, which I think is great. I can absolutely recommend it. Fair prices for the food.

Cake was good. The coffee raises questions. Some of us had a cup of coffee for 3 euros, the others had a pot of coffee for 4 euros. This means that for 33.3% more money there was almost no more coffee. At least not 33%. Think about it (operator) Addendum: In our case the ratio was not 140ml to 210ml. Otherwise I certainly wouldn't have written anything.

Erneut hatten wir ein sehr positives Erlebnis am Niederwald. Hervorrangendes Essen mit super freundlicher Bedienung. Schön, dass man auch mal etwas Besonderes essen kann. Man bekommt nicht überall ein Wildschwein-Cordon-Bleu, das auch noch mit Handkäse gefüllt ist. Auch die anderen Gerichte sind üppig und mit Liebe zubereitet. Die Portionen sind groß und meistens zu viel. Herzlichen Dank für die tolle Bewirtung.

Ich war vergangenen Samstag mit einer ganzen Gruppe hier und bin begeistert. Man hat für uns Tische auf der Terrasse reserviert was für ein Ausflugslokal wirklich nicht selbstverständlich ist -wir wurden zuvorkommend und waren richtig glücklich dort! Sowohl die Getränke als auch das Essen waren gut und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt! Dazu noch die herrliche Aussicht auf den Rhein! Besser hätten wir es nicht antreffen können!

Sehr schöner Ausblick, ordentliche Toiletten und freundlicher Service. Preis/Leistung für diesen Ort geht auch in Ordnung . Als einige von uns nach ein paar Runden Bier ne Currywurst gegessen haben waren sie allerdings enttäuscht, die kann man für den Preis wesentlich besser hinbekommen . Ist aber natürlich auch Geschmacksache.
