Wilma Wunder in Mainz

Very nice restaurant, but unfortunately due to its sheer size, it's no longer so comfortable because the hard-working staff has to run back and forth a lot, which naturally causes a lot of unrest. Recommendation: It's better to look for a place at the top and in the outer areas... 😊

We have been here several times - unfortunately today we are absolutely disappointed with the price-performance ratio! My Egg Benedict consisted of a small slice of bread, two tiny blanched eggs and a few drizzles of hollandaise sauce…. 14€ for that?! It's bordering on a rip-off...

Lively place with nice cappuccino and fresh breakfast. A bit noisy but it's a cafe, not a library. Wallplugs are available, the personel speaks great English, food is fresh and tasty, coffee is great.

While shopping, I suddenly felt like eating breakfast and thought that I had to try it. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed by the size of the portion. For 15 euros there could have been a little more on the plate. Service was very attentive and quick.

Nice decor, very attentive staff. A slice of bread, jam, a boiled egg, a cup of coffee, also delicious. But: I think 12.30 is really expensive. Of course you can do it, of course.

Unhealthiest breakfast menu I've seen in a long time! ... the opposite of longevity food! … fried bacon all over ... few vegetarian alternatives and basically no vegan options That doesn't outweigh the nice service. For me it was the last time!

Nice atmosphere, unfortunately very pushy waiters who constantly interrupt the conversation and ask you if you want to order something again without you even distorting your dish or drink. The second you finish drinking, you are very passive-aggressively asked to order more or to leave. Charging €8 for a lemonade that is 80% ice is also impressive. And of course all products are ready meals that are resold at high prices. Very disappointing. Food was also very disappointing.

A bit noisy otherwise very nice

Good location. Friendly service but food... Spaetzle was something between an omelet and scrambled egg, and Königsberger dumplings were extremely salty. Too bad..!

Located right in the middle of Mainz plaza. Amazing service, fresh food. Tried breakfast kick starter with cqpuccino and it was healthy, clean, fresh and soothing.

Wenn ein Lokal so zentral an einer Sehenswürdigkeit wie dem Dom liegt, habe ich normal meine Zweifel. Aber es war einfach nur gut. Der Service war genau so, wie man ihn sich wünscht: aufmerksam, freundlich, hilfsbereit. Das Essen war gut, die Beratung (wegen Unverträglichkeiten) war perfekt. Ein Lokal und Café zum Wohlfühlen.

The location of Wilma Wunder in Mainz on the market is so fantastic that it's hard to imagine that the food and service could be so great. Here you really are a guest, as you imagine. This was my second time there and I was always served well and attentively. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. Actually, it doesn't get any better.

Two of the most important rules for tourists are refuted here: avoid restaurants in hotspots and do not visit chain restaurants. Wilma Wunder Mainz does both, but has turned out to be a great location for short breaks and delicious food. The service was absolutely attentive and professional and all the dishes were tasty. Sitting outside (or even more perfectly on the balconies) offers the wonderful side effect of being able to watch people and the hustle and bustle.

We called before our visit to make sure there were gluten-free alternatives. This was confirmed over the phone. Unfortunately, when we arrived and browsed through the menu, we didn't find any mention of it. When we asked, we only received the allergen card from a very unfriendly waiter with the comment "You can study there for a long time". After “studying” we discovered that only the scrambled eggs could be made gluten-free. We didn't get any further help either. All of this and the far too loud and uncomfortable atmosphere meant that we left the establishment without anything to eat or drink.

So the boys have been going there for a while and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, but the prices for cakes are just too expensive. And no matter whether you take a cake to go or eat it there, the price remains the same. It's a real shame

We sat outside on the balcony, a great view of Mainz Cathedral. We ate the Caesar salad with chicken and a pork schnitzel with potato salad. Both were very tasty and were served quite quickly. The portions were perfect.

Drinking was good, only the vegan tarte flambée should perhaps be revised again.

Amazing spot. Randomly walked up and got a beautiful table outside. The service was friendly and very helpful. Had the pork schnitzel with a side salad and it was one of the best I've had. It was pretty warm today and wasn't too heavy to enjoy in some sun. The dunkel beer was good, the “Wilma’s favorite wine” was delicious, and the peach liqueur was phenomenal. I’d recommend this spot and everything I had.

I've only been there for brunch so far. It was always delicious, the atmosphere is very nice and loving. The dishes are also prepared for the eye. Often not for those who decide at short notice, because it is simply full due to the central location. It can get hectic in there and service takes a while. But everyone is very friendly. Not a bargain in terms of price, but that's just the way it is these days🤷‍♀️

Were there with the company. Small card. Here it gave the impression of making some money with two very similarly formulated dishes. Had the Caesars salad, which was neither good nor bad. When I was billing someone else, I had the EC payment device placed in front of my nose. Overall, the cashier came too close to me even though there was still space in the aisle. My food was also missing from the billing which led to a longer break. But then that's not my problem.

Excellent meal and in a great location. The outside of the restaurant has a good view. The food was very good and we thought the price was appropriate. Service was quick and accurate.

A wonderful place that invites you to linger. Personally, it was too loud and too much hustle and bustle for me at times, but that's just my personal opinion. Sometimes I just like the locations where you can have a little more conversation. Still really great. It was my first time there and I would love to come back. I also thought it was great that they made efforts to ensure that we even got a place.

Hello ☀️ I'd love to come to you. What pissed me off on my last visit... In your case, a relatively small cup of tea costs 4.20. Proud price. If I want honey to sweeten the tea, I'll pay extra again. This is heavy! I work in the catering industry myself and know that there is another way.

Adorable restaurant with boutique feel, delicious food and drinks and great service

Service here is the best of any place I have been in the last 8 weeks. Orders are taken quickly and before you can look fully through the large nice room and the outside scenery, the food is coming already!. Fresh salad, good espresso and cappuccino. The young waiter was given us exceptional good service! Many cafe's & restaurants can start learning here. The staff is so nice and true friendly.

We were here two days in a row because we enjoyed the food and especially the pancakes so delicious. Beautifully located on the market square. You can even sit on the balcony, but a reservation is necessary. The food and drinks are very tasty and the service team is quick, friendly and well organized. You have the feeling that everyone knows what they have to do and so the food comes together very quickly. A little tip about the pan biscuit: if you like it, you can look up the recipe on the website and bake it yourself.

When the weather was great, we had the chance to grab a spot on the cathedral square after only having to wait about 8 minutes. Nice, completely chilled staff 🫶🥰

We were there for dinner, had made a reservation, there were 9 of us. Service was super friendly and very attentive. Everything worked great, the drinks were served quickly and our food was also very tasty and came quickly. Everything tasted very good. We were thrilled, especially by the friendliness of the staff. Everyone was very friendly.

We had some tea here. The tea was OK, but nothing special and quite small for the price. The location is nice, but it is really loud inside of the Café. The waiter to ages to bring us the menu that was over ambitious for a while and than didn't show up at all. We tried paying for 45min and even going to the counter it still took a while to be able to pay. They have some delicious items on the menu but we won't come back as the service was bad not for the first time!

Nobody in this world who really knows what good or halfway good food is calls this food good. The veal schnitzel alone costs €24 and comes from the freezer. The waiter confirmed this. The food is really really underground!

Ci siamo fermati qui per una sosta pomeridiana, dopo la visita al Museo Gutenberg. Bellissima location, con i tavolini sulla Piazza principale di Mainz. Menu vasto, possibilità di scelta davvero ampia. Personale professionale e gentile, servizio rapido, unico piccolo "disagio" (ma qui avviene praticamente ovunque): dover condividere tutto con le api. Consigliato!

Enjoyed a cocktail in the beer garden. Service came quickly and was very friendly, cocktail was delicious, everything was great, recommended.

The food still had room for improvement. At around 8:30 p.m. the parasols were packed up; you had the feeling that they wanted to call it a day. Very uncomfortable.

My family and I came across this lovely restaurant in Mainz after visiting this town, this place serves really good German food and drinks. We also tried the smoked salmon and spinach ravioli, fish finger with fries and the fried thin pork chop served with cranberry sauce. We enjoyed all the food and drinks, so I will definitely recommend this place to everyone who’s planning to visit Mainz. P.S. They have great service too!

My husband and I had dinner there around 12 p.m. He had a Viennese style schnitzel and I had the goat cheese and avocado salad. We were absolutely positively surprised at how quickly we had the food on the table. Absolutely fresh ingredients and the taste is simply great. The atmosphere is so cozy. Absolutely inviting. Service very friendly and also very attentive. The price is a little higher, but you should expect that if you want to dine right in the city center at Mainz Cathedral. We'll be back. :-)

Zu viert waren wir zum Frühstück am Marktplatz in Mainz. Was uns zunächst sehr gut gefallen hat war, das wir aufgrund unserer Reservierung angerufen wurden und im Vorfeld gefragt wurden, ob wir einen Tisch drinnen oder draußen sitzen möchten, sehr vorbildlich im Service. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und alle im Service waren gut gelaunt und herzlich zum Gast. Gefrühstückt haben Egg Benedict, „Lachs und lecker“ und „kräftig & deftig“. Alles sehr lecker und reichlich. Sicherlich preislich höher, für uns war es aufgrund der Qualität gerechtfertigt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Nice selection of unusual breakfast combinations, but the classics are also represented. Plus free-range eggs, some vegan options (e.g. vegan pancakes), plant-based milk at no extra charge and (especially important!) very friendly and attentive staff! :) We also liked the location, nice furnishings and a cozy atmosphere. PS: We had reserved, which is also recommended, at least on the weekend!

A beautiful location on Domplatz opposite Mainz Cathedral. If you don't want to sit in front of the café when the weather is nice, see if you can find a place on the balcony on the 1st floor with a great view of Cathedral Square!

A very nice Cafe/Restaurant right on the Marktplatz facing the Mainz Cathedral. We had a table on the balcony with a great view of the Cathedral and the goings-on on the Marktplatz. The food (Flammkuchen with salmon for me and Truffle Fries for my friend) was very tasty, and the waitress was very attentive to our needs.

Nice place, delicious beer. Unfortunately I didn't eat there.

Went to Wilna in Mainz for the second time yesterday. Still very nice. The ambience is great so it's a bit more expensive. But if I want an ambience like that, I have to expect it to be a little more expensive. The staff is very friendly and helpful. In my opinion everything is correct. It's our 66th wedding anniversary in November, so we'll reserve two places.

We were at Wilma's on a date night and got a place on the small balcony, which made us very happy. The atmosphere there was wonderful and we had a great view over the cathedral square. The service was super nice, the orders came quickly and everything tasted very good. We can definitely recommend the Wilma am Dom.

César salade, sehr nüchtern.. Nur salade und tomate und Knäckebrot... Viel zu teuer! Ich kann es nicht weiter empfehlen.

Preis-Leistung & Geschmack lohnen sich nicht - kleine Portionen, keine frischen Lebensmittel (Brot vom Vortag, gefrorene Früchte), Geschmack ist ausbaufähig (kaum Würze). Das einzige was sich lohnt ist die Lage am Dom - würde nur noch hin um was zu Trinken. Bedienung war zu Beginn "aufdringlich", das Essen kam vor den Getränken. Nachdem wir gegessen haben wurden die Teller nicht abgeräumt was viele Wespen anzog.

Nous avons déjeuner en terrasse. Repas simple et bon. Il est vraiment dommage que les menus ne soient pas traduit au minimum en anglais. Les serveurs ne parlaient pas anglais. Nous avons choisi au plus simple et aurions aimé goûter aux plats traditionnels.
