As satisfied as we were on our first visit shortly before Christmas, we didn't like it much when we were there last Monday. The first time it was quite full, but the service was super attentive, friendly and on the ball. Last Monday there was little going on and the very young wait staff stood around and chatted and an Asian young woman was probably in charge that evening. Half the time she talked to her colleagues, delivered the menus quickly but with little empathy, but the other half she sat in the corner with her cell phone or did the billing there in the middle around 8 p.m. The food was again very tasty, but the atmosphere was just not pleasant. If the staff stands around and chats more, it's just not comfortable. We would have liked to order drinks, but since no one came or asked, we paid and left. First of all, we won't be coming back.

Great German food and drinks. No English menu. Free wifi. Beers, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. Great service. Good food including schnitzel, sausages, pork knuckle, vegetarian options, and more.

That was. My first visit to the former Bratwurstglöckle, now part of a chain. Good location for walk-in customers. Food from the menu is of a higher quality: goose parts, deer goulash. ROULADE. ALSO SOMETHING VVEGETARIAN. THE bowl but more of a concoction than a meal. Good middle-class food designed to keep you fed. See good local management and service.

Five of us came here for dinner after making a reservation. First to the positive points: The service was really exemplary and the waiters were very friendly. After paying we even got a schnapps on the house. The ambience itself was also good and we had nothing to complain about here. The prices are also not high and, in our opinion, reasonable Now to the negative experiences: Unfortunately we didn't like the food at all. Unfortunately my schnitzel wasn't really hot, but somehow only "lukewarm". I looked in vain for the advertised “green Amazon pepper” in the pepper sauce. I've never had that before when I ordered a pepper schnitzel. I'm guessing it's ready-made sauce, but I can't say this with certainty. My wife's cordon bleu was also somehow tasteless and barely seasoned. A little ketchup would also have been nice, but we didn't ask, which is why the restaurant can't be blamed for this. All in all, we personally wouldn't eat there again, which is purely due to the food and not the restaurant as a whole.

On New Year's Eve I strolled through Mainz with my Holden and stopped by there by chance. Schnitzel day was a blast. Service was very nice, price/performance was really great. Large portions, freshly cooked and really tasty 😋.

A typical German pub, very close to the commercial pedestrian zone. During the summer, you can probably sit in front of the pub right on the pedestrian zone. The food was good, I tasted goulash soup, and some bratwurst, I don't remember the name. Draft beer was good, circled. The service was nice, at dinner time it was full, it was necessary to look at the service to order a longer beer, then it came. The toilets were clean, the place was warm, but it was a bit noisy when the pub was full.

I like going there whether in a group or alone. It's nice there and you feel like you're in good hands as a guest. The range of food on offer is great, there is something for everyone, even children. There are also children's chairs, unfortunately no changing table. Everything is always clean. The service staff are all very nice and attentive. No matter how busy it is, the people who work here are always friendly and take their time with their guests. There is also a large selection of drinks. You can sit inside or outside. There is a separate entrance for walkers or wheelchairs. There is also a disabled toilet. I enjoy going here and have for a very long time... and I always enjoy coming back. Everything tastes great....

Customer service is not a priority here. The beer glass was not filled to the calibration mark and was only refilled after request. No one asked if it was tasty and the pumpkin soup was too salty and a thick paste. Almost the entire pot was left inedible. Nobody asked. Something like that is impossible

Consistently very good. Regional specialties and daily menu are diverse. Fantastic goulash soup. Love their Schnitzels, too. All around 👍🏻. Review based on about 10 visits over the past 6 months.

Although I grew up in this wonderful city, I have never been to Glöckle. Today, on the recommendation of my father, we are here for lunch. Nice, rustic, middle-class atmosphere and wonderfully delicious food. At least the sauerbraten. But given how busy the place is, this obviously applies to the rest of the menu.

Service was friendly... unfortunately the food was disappointing.

Schnitzel was ok, but nothing special, the price was okay. Unfortunately, the menu is absolutely inflexible, if you want to leave something out of any dish (due to allergies), that's unfortunately not possible, otherwise no deviations are possible.

Typical German dishes such as sausages, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes are available. I enjoyed the Knudel with mushroom cream sauce from the vegan menu. Comes with vegetable salad. Since it was a large amount, I left a little bit. My daughter ate the sausage and sauerkraut, but the sauerkraut was quite sour and there was a lot of it, so she ended up leaving some left over. My friend ordered red cabbage sauerkraut, boar and deer sausage, and mashed potatoes. I sampled the red cabbage sauerkraut and mashed potatoes and they were very delicious.

We were at Glöckle at lunchtime. Very friendly and even faster employees. We ate schnitzel and it tasted delicious. Definitely recommended

Full stars from us. We went to “das Glöckle” for the first time on Friday and were thrilled. Totally cozy atmosphere, very nice staff and the cabbage rolls are a dream. Only the chocolate cake with a liquid center was not liquid. But since it really tasted good, complaining would be on a high level. I think advance reservation is recommended. We'd love to come back :)

I ordered the autumn schnitzel yesterday and it was there within 10/15 minutes (the inn wasn't very busy at the time) but I still enjoy eating here very often. It always tastes fabulous and the staff is friendly ☺️👍🏻

Very friendly Petsonal. The ambience is rather rustic, but appropriate, just a little too loud. The food tasted good. The price-performance ratio is good, but to be honest, there are places where these dishes are even tastier.

Waited 10 mins for service. Then when they finally turned up said the tasting paddle of beers wasn't available as they had one staffember down. Does it really take that much longer to pour 5 small beers as opposed to 1. i said I'll choose another beer. To which they said I'll come back, again, can you not give me 15 seconds to choose. Then left me another 5 to 10 minutes without coming back over. No thanks. Went elsewhere. Terrible service, can't comment on the food or beer as waited 15+ mins I hadn't even placed an order

As pilots, we fly all over the world looking forward to the local cuisine. In Mainz, we always go for the Schnitzel and Haxe. This restaurant was a new attempt for us, but it was really good! The mushroom sauce was delicious, and the Haxe was nice and crispy on the outside, but super soft and juicy on the inside. Great warm atmosphere and service too.

The waitress I asked helped us get the with mushroom gravy schnitel, it is called Madagaskarschnitzel! Was amazing with sliced potatoes! Wow!

I was in Mainz with my wife and had dinner there and it was really good 👍 Service top, food great, atmosphere very nice. I ate beef liver it was super tasty 😋 Prices are very good 👍 Can happily recommend.

This quaint restaurant is in the middle of Mainz's old town. We were in Mainz for a weekend and spontaneously ended up there for dinner and were lucky enough to get a seat. The service is very friendly and attentive. The food was bomb. German/Bavarian cuisine. Each of us was thrilled (6 people). The price-performance ratio is absolutely top. The interior is a bit dated but ok. We will stop there again on our next visit to Mainz.

First things first, the food was delicious. I haven't eaten lumberjack steak so well prepared in a long time. Service was ok. Ambiance outside is also ok. My recommendation - just try it out.

Fun sitting outside watching people go by. Food was good. Potatoes are very tasty. Green peppercorns give more flavor to it. The schnitzel was a bit dryer than I like. It was still very tasty and crunchy. Will try other dishes next time.

Food top. Tuesday is schnitzel day. Great offer that was gladly taken advantage of. It was very plentiful. The location in the center is perfect. The service is top notch. Only the furnishings are a bit old, no longer completely fresh and some of them are worn out. In the end it all comes down to the food, it was great.

Dining in the restaurant is good. The food is very good. But please don't have it delivered. The puree was like paste. The liver was very delicate. The cauliflower steak was just mushy and the fries were burnt. The entire dish wasn't worth almost €30. In any case, I will no longer have food delivered.

The restaurant is famous for its crispy fried pork leg, but it's a bit sad not being able to eat it today. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor space. The outside space is on two sides of the street, the small side street is more comfortable to sit and enjoy. It was quite interesting to meet a Vietnamese waiter who has been in Mainz for seven years and comes from Nghe An

The food tasted very good 👌🏼🤌🏼it was also relatively quick...but the staff was just this one woman. Very unfriendly and unsympathetic Asian woman.. And at the end she also asked for a tip.. Unbelievable!! Normally, we always tip, but for their service to us guests, I'm really sorry... No!!! 👎🏼

Highly recommend the mushroom cream sauce chicken schnitzel

Very nice service. Beer tasting with 5 different beers - I was even able to customize. Delicious salad, onion schnitzel with plenty of very tasty browned onions, as well as the fried potatoes.

We've eaten here three times now. After we were particularly impressed by the food the first time, we unfortunately discovered on the second and third visits that the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. Why do you use the cheapest cooked ham you can find in the supermarket for a portion of asparagus, ham with hollondaise sauce and boiled potatoes and serve it with a packet of sauce? The schnitzels from the deep fryer are also not what you would expect in a restaurant with a very nice atmosphere. Since the first time we were there there was very tasty home cooking, where you could taste that there was love here, I hope that more passion will be invested in the kitchen again in the future.

We had a very nice visit to the Glöckle. The vegetarian offering is varied and the service was also very friendly. We enjoyed the food excellently. However, the ice cream with strawberries could have had more strawberries. The prices are great too! Thank you!

Were there to eat schnitzel. The service was friendly, unobtrusive and quick. The portions are large and tasty. Unfortunately it wasn't fresh schnitzel but frozen goods. The mushroom cream was also made from jarred mushrooms. Nevertheless, it was tasty and the price-performance ratio was good.

Nice shop with delicious, simple German cuisine, friendly service and good beer. The naturally cloudy one is particularly recommended.

Wonderful German restaurant. It is not very large, so plan ahead if you want to visit. We selected several schnitzel and sausages along with the sides to share/try between four of us. All good along with a couple of beers. Highly recommend.

The food was good, service too. Had soup as a starter, schnitzel as a main course. That was too much 😄 you should tell the guest that there are 2 schnitzels, or offer a small portion with one schnitzel. I think the prices are very fair these days.

Was a little disappointed... The portion was a lot more for the money... Had the menu for two but was actually a portion for one sadly... The service was a bit conceited...sorry it didn't work at all.

The service is very friendly, the atmosphere is very rustic but still very nice, the drinks are very tasty, the locations are super clean and also made of rustic wood. The seating options inside and outside are super comfortable. The food came quickly and was also very tasty, a big compliment to the chef. The price-performance ratio is good and justified. The portions are large and you'll feel very full.

Unfortunately I can only give two stars. The food and price are actually ok, but that night I had severe problems with my digestion and that lasted until the next day, when my toilet was my best friend. And that wasn't just me, but 4 out of 5 colleagues. Service was super friendly and accommodating.

There was a large sign outside the door that read “Oven-fresh and crispy knuckles”. So the choice of food was made. But if a restaurant doesn't know how to get the knuckle crispy, they shouldn't mention it and advertise it. Otherwise it was tasty. But drinks don't want to be sold either, because you sit there eating with an empty glass for ages. Ok, you just drink 1 beer. If you want to pay, it takes an eternity because there is only one lady responsible for it. (It was Monday and it really wasn't crowded) The anticipation of a crispy knuckle was great, the atmosphere was very nice and the service was so-so. I was a little disappointed in general.

Minced steak on minced steak day. The advertised minced steak menu (quote evening menu: “Tip: Ask for our minced steak menu!”) doesn’t even exist. Since I like mett and tartare, it wasn't a problem that what was served was still red. Unfortunately the pepper sauce had to be peppered and the beer sauce didn't taste like anything either. The fairly light fries felt like they weren't mixed through after being salted and the fried potatoes, which according to the menu were *crispy*, were more like dumplings that were cut and could have browned a little in the pan. They were warmed in oil. Music, a mishmash of old German hip hop but way too loud. Service staff friendly.

The toilets are catastrophic, not clean and the toilet seat was broken. The rest of the toilets are so bad that you can lose your taste. Unfortunately my food wasn't that great either The bratwursts were immediately cold and my companion had a black hair in the schnitzel. I won't be coming here again. So I can't recommend it any further.

Food was really good, but there were several things that weren't available even though they were on the menu (spirits, vegetarian food, fried potatoes and schnitzel). In addition, you could only pay in cash because the card reader didn't work. After we paid 200 euros and gave a tip, the waitress reacted inappropriately and wished us a “nice evening”.
