Wilma Wunder in Karlsruhe

The conversion from Besitos to Wilma Wunder was well done, the interior looks nice. Unfortunately, that brings me to the two negative points: - As before, it is so loud in the large room that six people at a table find it difficult to converse. - The prices are quite high. I think 4.80 EUR for 0.4 liters of beer is steep. The very nice service was positive. The tarte flambée we ordered was delicious.

The atmosphere was super great! Super stylishly furnished and very comfortable! The choice of food was more than enough! Vegetarians and vegans will also find something. The drinks were great too. I had the napkin dumplings with the cream sauce - I found them tasty but the final kick was missing.

I chose the restaurant to celebrate my birthday there. However, despite having a reservation, we got a table right at the entrance. The food was satisfactory. Normally I'm used to the fact that the competition gives you a little gift on your birthday. I even had to pack the rest of my food myself.

We would like to thank you for the very good organization and excellent food on the occasion of our company event. The Wilma Wunder Karlsruhe team ensured a successful evening for 25 people.

Price-quality value isn't good 👎🏻 I have ordered a breakfast and waited approximately 40 min. It turned out that they had made a mistake and had sent it to another table. 😃😃 and I had to wait another 10 min. So I don't know where the over 4.0 stars come from. Also the lemonade is practically sugar syrup full with a lot of ice 🧊 for 6.90 € . They have a lot of personal unfortunately not effective. The atmosphere 👌🏻 was very pleasant.

In the middle of Karlsruhe, a nice restaurant with ambience and delicious food. We were there with around 20 people, which worked without any problems. We'd love to come back.

Delicious vegan dish eaten with pea-based meat. And the waitress was very helpful. Brought an English card to my companion, who doesn't speak German, and was patient with us. 😅

We were there as part of a specified culinary trip. Our selection: Beetroot tartare with grilled goat cheese was excellent. Thanks also to the nice, friendly service!

Lovely surprise brunch stop. The staff were very helpful with my gluten allergy, and the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon were perfect. A special mention goes out to the lovely young waiter who told me I had a beautiful smile, he made this 60 year old lady’s day. A hidden oasis, we will definitely be back, next time we’re in town. We had reserved in advance for cheese fondue, but nothing worked out. When the fondues came we had no plates, no bread and no side dishes. One fondue could be kept warm with a fuel paste (leftovers), for the other fondue the fuel paste was missing. They thought a candle would be a reasonable replacement and despite our objections, no solution was worked on. Only when we made it very clear that they could clear away the fondue that had been damaged and that we would not accept it as it was, was a fuel paste (the kind you usually put under large rechauds) placed underneath. The staff was not only overwhelmed, but also rude and we were shouted at because they had run out of the usual fondue fuel pastes and we were not happy with the candle. The fondue itself came from the kitchen warm (not hot). The bread that was then served to us was not enough and the additional bread was billed for. The fondue itself was not a Swiss cheese fondue, but a standard German gastro cheese fondue and therefore didn't taste that good.

We ordered cheese fondue and got a cheese béchamel sauce. As if that wasn't enough, they ran out of fuel paste and instead put a tea light under the fondue for us. When I said that I didn't think that was enough, I was insulted with the words "if I had something else I would bring it" (the supermarket where you could definitely have bought something like that in an emergency is 500m away). In any case, no apology was made in any way and we were then expected to pay for the (now cold) cheese béchamel sauce including a tip. No apology nothing. Nevertheless, the restaurant is acceptable/nicely decorated

The taste of the food was ok but it was all frozen food. But very expensive. Service was very inattentive. Had to wait half an hour for the bill even though there wasn't much going on.

The food doesn't work at all! (Baked dumplings and salmon noodles) Ready meal at its finest with zero taste.....and served lukewarm 😡back to the kitchen again.....now hot but the dumplings are just mud.....catastrophe!!! And really expensive. Drink, yes... definitely not eat.

Nice hip place, with hip dishes. Enjoy a delicious breakfast and lunch with flammkuchen. Right in the center, sit quietly at the rear. Just not cheap, more than €4 for a cappuccino and €13 for flammkuchen. Still, if you want to sit relaxed and have a bite to eat, definitely recommended

Very cozy and tastefully decorated restaurant. Service very attentive and quick. Ginless tonic is very tasty. The duck was excellent with lots of herbs and so was the Schäufle with handmade spaetzle.

We had breakfast with 11 people. It is impressive how fast and friendly the service is. Amazingly, given the amount of people and chaotic ordering, there were no incorrect deliveries and no questions! I have rarely experienced that. The “starter” breakfast is highly recommended, especially the avocado cream!

Very nice welcome, great atmosphere We were here for breakfast. My wife was completely impressed and very satisfied. Unfortunately, something went wrong with my order. I got a rich plate that looked really great. Unfortunately, the fried eggs were no longer even lukewarm, they were at room temperature, which had a very negative effect. When you looked at it you just had the idea of ​​perfection, only to be thrown down to earth with cold goo. An affront given the prices. The egg was replaced without complaint. At that point I would have liked a little compensation, maybe a ginger shot, but unfortunately nothing came... Of course, the plate with the new two fried eggs was no longer as beautifully presented as before. Very benevolent 4 stars here

What can you say... The ambience is a matter of taste and I personally didn't like it at all. I ordered a small special and got a large one but the highlight was the food. Ham spaetzle was ordered and was served after a fairly long wait. The first negative thing I noticed was that you really had to look for the ham and the portion was pretty meager for €15! But the complete kill was after I took the first forkful. Slimy, hardly any taste, almost cold. I then stirred something with a fork through this wretched dish called ham spaetzle and I saw that the slimy consistency was due to the cook's incompetence because the egg in this dish was not fried but raw 👌. I just left the food there and didn't want any more because I had lost my appetite. The only positive thing was that the service person took my food off the bill. Definitely not a recommendation and not worth the money.

cozy atmosphere in an excellent location, extensive drinks menu. Had the impression that the number of service staff was too small. On a Sunday with a Christmas market and a football game, you could certainly have achieved significantly more sales by offering hot food from 11 a.m. (as an exception).

We reserved a table for 2 via Open Tabel: easy and quick. The atmosphere is friendly, bright and very stylish. You feel very comfortable. Although it was already busy at 1 p.m., there was no disturbing background noise. The service is competent and friendly. Unfortunately, our food was initially served to us too cold. This was then heated again and then it fit. Unfortunately, the food disappointed us a bit in terms of taste. We didn't like the Königsberger meatballs.  We had the impression that it was frozen goods. We didn't think the price was reasonable for that. The low-carb noodles with chicken were good and we can recommend them.

Due to current events, I can fully understand the service's reaction. I would also like to apologize for my behavior at this point. Sorry......

Great ambience, Food not good and relatively expensive. Königsberger Klopse are a disaster both in terms of taste and consistency, reminiscent of ball-shaped cat food. Schnitzels were not crispy but rather limp. Duck breast was tiny with 2 very small potato dumplings. The only positive thing was the mashed potatoes and the side salad. Service was friendly but there was no response to the complaint other than a blank look. Too bad!

Great service and ambience, everyone who has to have a gluten-free breakfast, like me, can be happy, just ask when ordering. They have been offering gluten free bread for a few weeks now.

My wife and I came here for breakfast as part of a city trip and were very positively impressed - even if the menu suggests a female target group in terms of the colors and names of the dishes. 😉 The food itself was very tasty and I have rarely experienced such attentive and nice staff as here. We had dinner here and had a solid experience. First of all, the restaurant is very stylishly decorated and comfortable to sit in. The food was good, but we forgot a side dish we ordered. Since within an hour no service staff came by and asked if everything was okay, let alone even walked past that could have been addressed, we ignored it for the time being. After the main course, which had already been eaten half an hour, we wanted to order dessert. The service just said, “the kitchen has been closed for 15 minutes, sorry”. A bit annoying, since this could have been pointed out (20 minutes before or so). Finally, the bill came with the supplement on it and, when we pointed it out, the statement “if you had said that earlier, I could have given you something on the house”. No apology and why no “then I’ll take something off your bill now…”?! We will consider coming again and were a bit disappointed.

Was there yesterday for the first time and probably the last time. The taste of the food itself was okay. But My girlfriend and I both had stomach cramps immediately after eating. We both had salad, but different, different dressing, etc.

Very nice atmosphere, with appropriate music, lighting and decoration. The yuzu soda was really tasty and, like the meals, generously portioned. The caper sauce was very intense and was well complemented by the mild mashed potatoes. The tarte flambée was delicious and tasted somewhat reminiscent of a falafel wrap. Overall, really good food, just nothing exceptional or memorable that it needed for the 5*. The service was super friendly and approachable.

We actually wanted to take the 2 for 1 breakfast/main course offer with the Neotaste app, but unfortunately that didn't work out, but that wasn't necessarily the restaurant's fault. We were a bit disappointed, but then we ordered two dishes anyway. The portion was far too small for the high price, simply disproportionate for what you get. We ordered the Avocado Nest and received a sliced ​​warm avocado with 2 small poached eggs and 2 very lean small slices of bread. Unfortunately, far too little bread for a whole avocado. Beautiful location with great interior. Very friendly service. Quite loud this evening. And what surprised us: Single-use plastic products such as straws have been banned across Europe since July 3, 2021. These often end up in water and cause marine animals, for example, to die miserably. The animals mistake these products for food. At Wilma Wunder, however, they are in every lemonade and every cocktail. Why?

We didn't try the food. But the card promises a lot. The cocktail (I had Pina Colada) was not as expected. It was made with coconut syrup and cream. The rum left a slightly bitter note. The lemonade and cocktails are filled to 50% with ice. It doesn't have to be that way either. But what I found bad were the plastic straws in all the drinks. Aren't they banned across the EU since 2021? There really are enough alternatives!

Visiting in larger company. Ambience great but unfortunately a bit loud. Service very good, nice, attentive and friendly staff. The food (and we had over 20 different dishes) wasn't special and really wasn't a hit. The portions in particular were very manageable and, especially with the spinach noodles on the vegetable plate, they were more like a starter, but at the price of a main course. Generally expensive, even when it comes to drinks. Conclusion: a small snack or just a drink is okay, but nothing more

I was here for breakfast with a friend. The breakfast menu is extensive and has something for everyone. Whether hearty, sweet or a mix of both. The service is very nice and relaxed. Afterwards we had an Aperol outside and sat comfortably in this beautiful courtyard. Can only be recommended. We will definitely become repeat offenders here.

The Wilma Wunder is centrally located on the market square in Karlsruhe. The restaurant is really beautifully and comfortably furnished. You can feel very comfortable here. Service: The service also contributed greatly to our feeling of well-being during our visit. We were in contact with several colleagues, all of whom were very hard-working and loved children. What's great is that there is a whole bag full of toys for the little guests, as well as coloring books. This takes some of the focus away from the parents during the visit. The dishes and drinks also arrived very promptly, even though the Wilma Wunder was almost completely full on the Thursday of our visit. Behind it lies lukewarm Brussels sprouts on herder's cheese cream, refined with chopped almonds and pomegranate seeds. Plus oven-fresh bread. I'm always happy when creative dishes appear on a menu, especially since many locations don't dare to use Brussels sprouts as the main ingredient. Since Brussels sprouts and shepherd's cheese inherently have a lot of flavor of their own, the dish was almost a no-brainer. I also enjoyed the dish, but the pomegranate seeds were a bit underrepresented and were lost in the overall impression. - 4/5 Price-performance ratio: The portion size was actually my only problem. I'm not one of those people who eat quickly or expect XXL portions, but with "Kugelrund & Bunt" I had to be careful that I didn't finish with four spoonfuls and then the family continued eating alone. For me, the dish was more of an appetizer. Explicitly naming oven-fresh bread on the menu and then putting half a slice on your plate also seems strange. If the children hadn't left over their meals, I would have left hungry. Then €12.90 is a lot as a price. It may be justified based on the products, but that's no use to me if I don't get full from it. In my opinion, labeling this dish as an appetizer would be appropriate. - 2/5 Conclusion: "Wilma Wunder" is a great location for families or anyone who wants to spend a cozy evening in a beautiful atmosphere. The team is incredibly friendly and also looks after families with children in a very friendly manner. However, due to the portions, the Wilma Wunder would be more suitable for me as a midday snack in the future than as a full meal. - 3/5

Great location for breakfast, lunch or even dinner. Both the inside and outside invite you to linger. The restaurant is also recommended for larger groups. We were warmly welcomed and the service was super friendly and accommodating the entire time. The menu offers quite a large selection. There are also vegan options on the menu. The dishes were delicious and freshly prepared :) It's also great that the restaurant is very child-friendly. There are enough high chairs for children & there is also porridge. Overall, we had a nice lunch and would love to come back.

There was also a lavender lemonade and an Aperol. Finally, a Kaiserschmarrn, which was good but not great. You can do it but you don't have to. Nevertheless, absolute recommendation even for larger groups. The service was super nice and also very, very fast!

I was your guest twice while attending a conference at KIT. Everything was just right. Service is friendly, competent and fast. The food tasted great and the drinks were ice cold and refreshing. Vegans, veggies and meat eaters will find something delicious to eat here! It's great that there are still restaurants like this in Germany!

Hello, A week ago we were at Wilma Wunder for the first time. We had a great time sitting in front of the restaurant. The service was attentive and the food was really, really tasty. A successful evening. Now comes the reason why I'm writing the recession in the first place. We then visited the restaurant again yesterday with our grandson. It was very crowded. The service was a bit hectic and we had to wait a long time for our food. That was not recommended. The schnitzel is light-skinned, weak, comes with 5 fries and a bit of salad. Not comparable to the week before. The rest of the food wasn't any better. The price-performance ratio was not right at all. I was very disappointed, especially since my grandson was there and we didn't want to cause a fuss. It's better to have fewer guests and it's consistently good.

The place is nice, the cake tastes good, the savory dishes are too few and bad, everything is more expensive than it has to be.

We had breakfast at Wilma Wunder with a total of 4 adults and 4 babies. Everything was super tasty and beautifully prepared. The service staff are all super child-friendly and respond to individual requests. Happy to come back :)

Unfortunately expensive and food not good. Location is good, service is nice

Four of us spontaneously had dinner here in the evening. First of all, the service. The specialists are very nice but take an extremely long time. We waited 20 minutes for drinks and other tables next to us were sometimes not served for an extremely long time. The ambience is nice. We sat outside. Now about the food. We had the Wiener Art Schnitzel twice for 19.90 each. The schnitzel wasn't big and wasn't particularly special either. The fries were really bad. Very very dry and from the oven, zero crispy. Unfortunately, everyone at the table confirmed this. Far too expensive for that. The other two had the cheese spaetzle, which were okay but not outstanding, and the salmon noodles, which didn't even come close to filling a woman for 15 euros. The drinks are also very expensive. I think 6 euros worth of wheat is way too much. All in all we won't be coming back. At least once in the evening. I've never tried the breakfast so I can't rate it. Update: Today I had lunch here again for work with other colleagues, about 10 of them. And unfortunately nothing has changed. Despite the different dish, it is the same as described above. Almost everyone gave me this feedback. I find that quite a shame.

First visit to Wilma Wunder in Karlsruhe. Nice location, we sat in the courtyard. The “wait to be seated” model was already in trouble. We had to wait for the usher, when the time came she pointed to a place halfway and left us standing to continue working through the little queue that had been created artificially and unnecessarily in a bored and unkind manner. Well-intentioned doesn't necessarily mean well-done. Card made small but original. They didn't have the first glass of wine they ordered, but the second one worked. I had “Melon King” with extra strips of turkey breast. Small portion but tastes good. The 6 narrow strips of turkey breast for +€6.50 were shocking - especially since they were dry and cold. Almost €30 for THAT meal? The second dish was spinach salmon noodles that sat under the convector for a while - the edges of the dumplings (= noodles) were partly hard and the whole food was lukewarm at most. The third meal was pasta with chickpea pesto which was good. The bottom line is that we had a nice meal but definitely didn't eat well for three of us for €85. Not worth repeating for us. Too bad! Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures, but it was nicely presented. The staff was quite young but not particularly warm or helpful.

Wilma Wunder – It’s a wonder this restaurant still exists! Our visit to the "Wilma Wunder" restaurant was supposed to be a pleasant experience for the whole family, but unfortunately lunch turned out to be a real disappointment. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you will notice the overloaded menu, which shines more with pseudo-witty sayings than with culinary highlights. The humor seems to be aimed specifically at housewives over 50, who will probably find amusement here. The average visitor, on the other hand, laboriously struggles through the pages of text to make a halfway sensible selection. The ambience of the restaurant tries desperately to appear “mega fancy” and “hip”, which unfortunately cannot hide the inferior quality of the food. The salad we ordered came with an unpleasant surprise: sand! (Pictures attached) A complaint resulted in neither a replacement nor a greeting from the kitchen - a clear indication of poor service and a lack of customer awareness. The portions that were ultimately served turned out to be far too average to be considered worth the money. A grown man has little chance of getting full here. The selection of really substantial dishes is more than poor, which ultimately reduces the menu to absurdity. In summary, lunch at "Wilma Wunder" was a prime example of how an ambitious idea can fail due to poor execution and lack of service. It's truly a "miracle" that this restaurant still exists. We definitely won't come back here!

Great evening in a lovely atmosphere. Refined selection of dishes. Price/performance is a bit high, even for the drinks.

Picked it out spontaneously and found it to be very good 😊 A rather inconspicuous entrance, next to the huge columns of the Evangelical City Church, leads to a cozy, sheltered inner courtyard and an atmospherically beautiful interior. The service was very quick and really attentive, the menu isn't oversized but everyone can find something and the prices are reasonable. We had a nice evening before our concert next door 😉 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷 What a dream would be: Small selection of regional wines, perhaps only as specials, but you can only find that very rarely in franchise chains.

Very tasty breakfast! Vegetarian and with sausage! The homemade spreads are particularly delicious. You sit very nicely and don't feel cramped. Highly recommended.

Nice restaurant, pub, bar, café on the market square. Chilled. Price-performance not quite right for us. But clear recommendation!
