I can only recommend the Elector to anyone who wants to eat well and on a budget. I was there last Friday, it was buffet day and everything was very good and deliciously prepared in a nice atmosphere. Cost for the buffet: €21.90 per head. Absolutely top value for money!

The value for money of the schnitzel buffet cannot be beaten. There is a decent selection and the food is very tasty. The waiters take good care of you and are courteous and friendly! However, be careful, no cards are accepted!

Very friendly staff, I only ate the herbivorous part of the buffet but it was delicious (only the peas were a bit dry). If you ask, you can find something to eat even as a vegan. 😇

We've been to the all-you-can-eat schnitzel a few times and are absolutely thrilled with the delicious food and the warm and attentive service. In addition to schnitzels, there are other meat dishes as well as a good selection of different side dishes. The starters and the salad buffet are also absolutely fresh and really tasty. We'd love to come back!

Quaint pub with a surprisingly large buffet at a relatively low price. Reservations for the buffets are definitely recommended. We really enjoyed the evening here.

Last night we had a nice feast. I was looking for something like that. Good cuisine, cozy restaurant. The price-performance ratio is of course unbeatable. There was roast beef, pork steaks with delicious sauce, schnitzel, dumplings (shredded, great idea), fries, croquettes, mashed potatoes and so on. Salad buffet and snacks with sausage salad were also available. We were served very nicely and felt welcome. Everything I like to eat. We'll be back :)

Great price/performance. We went to the schnitzel buffet (turkey & pork) on Wednesdays. We also offer a very large selection of different dishes. First of all, a soup as a starter, as well as a large salad bar with various salads. In addition to the above-mentioned schnitzel, there was also turkey slices, boiled beef with potatoes and horseradish sauce (like grandma's), as well as side dishes (fries, spaetzle, vegetable croquettes, etc.). Really a lot of selection for really fair prices.

I can only recommend the schnitzel buffet. There is also a salad bar, pasta and other surprises such as: Game meat. Price performance is unbeatably good! The beer with it is also very tasty. The first impression from outside was pretty shabby but it's worth it!

Eating at the buffet is simply a dream!!!! A very nice old-established restaurant, with very nice staff, excellent service and a mega buffet meal! Good and very cheap prices, rarely seen anything like this. Keep it up and see you soon!

I came because of the good reviews, but unfortunately I can't fully understand them. The buffet was partly okay, but nothing more. OK, the price is cheap, but unfortunately the meat was completely fried and dry except for the schnitzel. The sausage salad had more onions than sausage. The “biergarten” is the backyard of a block of houses. Not worth the long journey from the city…

Everything was great. Schnitzel, pork loin, saddle of venison, spaetzle, croquettes, antipasti, salads and so much more... everything is fresh and delicious. It was always refilled. Chef and service friendly. It's worth it. Price performance top. Were on Saturdays

Great Elector Karlsruhe The bar/restaurant is located on the western edge of the city center. The food is very good. I was there for the asparagus buffet. The selection is very good, there was everything your heart could desire and there was really nothing missing. The schnitzels were very, very tasty. Everything is just great. Boerarten are also great beer from the Radeberger Group, e.g. Bad beer. The service is absolutely top, very polite, friendly and accommodating. They also fulfilled my special request for cranberries for the great pancakes. Thank you very much for that. What's also interesting is that the place is also a bit of a gallery, with different pictures on the wall. The boss is a picture collector. Parking spaces are on the streets. The train stop is not far, so it can also be easily reached on foot. Next visit will be the schnitzel buffet...I'm excited. I'd love to come back. Kind regards Alexander

Karlsruhe retro pub... with a certain flair... It always reminds me of the Cologne... pub culture. Restaurant with such a good buffet. The food is a taste explosion of culinary delicacies.

Not just schnitzel, roast beef, roast pork but also lots of side dishes. Fries, croquettes, pasta casserole... a complete buffet for only 15 euros that's incredible. Schnitzel tender without fat, roast beef as tender and tasty as grandma's. Were there on Wednesday with a reservation. Will also come Friday/Saturday for a different buffet. Only recommended. Restaurant has more of a pub character but the food is important.

Interesting location. “All you can eat” offer on Wednesdays and Thursdays is great. Nice service, plenty of food. Recommended for schnitzel lovers. Keep it up...!!!

Quaint pub and great dishes at the buffet.

As always, very tasty food. Unfortunately, the appetizer buffet was already pretty empty at 7 p.m. and was then no longer refilled. But the rest of the food was plentiful. Every time there is one dish that I would describe as outstanding. The kitchen knows its craft.

No matter which buffet, everyone will find something there... And as soon as something is out, something comes straight away... It tastes delicious and is always worth a visit. Schnitzel, roasts, game... various side dishes and sauces... top! Are there regularly...

Went to the buffet today. It tasted excellent. The selection was large and completely sufficient. The soup and the red cabbage were especially great. We'd love to come back.

Were a wedding group yesterday, We received a great welcome both when we made our reservation and when we arrived there. We really had a great experience in this restaurant. The employees are just super nice and we were able to accommodate a lot of requests. And thanks to the great communication, everything on our day turned out perfectly. We were at the schnitzel buffet for the second and certainly not the last time and I have to say, it was again really tasty. An absolute highlight are definitely the soups (very strong and tasty) and the mashed potatoes also completely blew me away. The waitresses were very friendly, even towards children, and the charm of this rustic pub was unbeatable. We would definitely like to come back. Price performance top :)

There is a buffet on Saturday. Was delicious and diverse. For the price you can't complain. Very nice service, nice atmosphere.

Price-performance was absolutely appropriate

No greeting upon entry. Questions about the buffet are answered unfriendly (e.g. whether there is spaetzle too/which there isn't!). At the table there was even a reprimand from the waitress. I don't want to be treated like that and left the restaurant in a hurry. The toilet smells underground.

I would describe the buffet offering as good and plentiful for the price of 14.90 euros. Schnitzels were surprisingly tasty...turkey and pork. It was always refilled...until 8:30 p.m....then it was cleared away. For that, for the ambience and no card payment... points deducted. There was nothing to complain about about the food...you can't, given the price.

Best damn Goulash Soup you'll ever eat outside of Hungary is right here in KA!! We enjoyed the "Kurfürst Buffet" on Saturday and it was really great. Nobody leaves here hungry. Everybody leaves here with a big smile and a full belly (no exceptions). There's something for everyone here. The Goßer Kurfürst makes me wish I had two bellies because I could try more than just my favorites because all the food here is delicious. I'll be back!!!

I read the really good reviews and thought I'd go. At 7.30 p.m. I looked at the buffet and there wasn't much left in the salad bar, soup was still there, schnitzel too but hardly any side dishes, 5 croquettes, a few old fries and potatoes. Vegetables, spaetzle and red cabbage were still fairly well filled. I wasn't offered a la card at all, so I had to take the buffet. It wasn't refilled again and they started clearing away at 8:30 p.m. It may be advisable to go straight after opening, but if you come later you're out of luck. I can't recommend it.

The schnitzel buffet is really amazing and at an unbeatable price. Freshly made schnitzels, various sauces and side dishes from fries to grilled vegetables, as well as soups and a salad bar. The whole thing combined with a guest house atmosphere and nice service. What more could you want? Absolute recommendation.

We eat at the buffet regularly and can only say that the price and performance are more than just good. Regardless of the buffet, I always have the best quality, a large selection of meat, side dishes, salads and various appetizers. The service is very good. One of the few restaurants in Karlsruhe with German cuisine, but this is perfect. Highly recommended.

Favorite restaurant in Karlsruhe. The schnitzel buffet is very neat and there are lot of side dishes to chose from including nice veggie dishes as well. The gulasch was very tasty and the knödel was great. Everything is pretty well priced and the serving staff is very kind and hospitable. Make sure to have cash on you, at the time I went they could not accept my card.

Yes, to be honest, I had a little higher expectations. I thought it was a restaurant but it's actually a pub. Stuffy air and not a really nice atmosphere with a slot machine and really horrible paintings. The quality of the food is quite good, but at the buffet you should be there right at the beginning, as the meat is left open all evening and gets cold over time. Selection OK, but not huge either. Completely unsuitable for vegetarians. All in all a nice evening but I don't need it again.

I visit the Großer Kurfürst regularly because of the buffets. Always top quality, several types of meat, great side dishes. Fresh supplies are constantly being added from the kitchen. Large selection of salads. Clean, friendly restaurant, nice service. I can only recommend it.

Unfortunately smoke-free since the end of 2021 ☹️ But still good food. A pub or restaurant for people who like to eat meat.

Recently “browsed” an excellent mussel buffet there. Everything was fresh, great selection and it tasted so good that we can only warmly recommend it. Pay attention to the announcements on the website or, even better, order the newsletter because of the reservation. We have often ordered from the normal menu and have always been well served 😃👍

Came a little late, but I was still able to eat from the delicious salad buffet and schnitzel. Crispy and delicious. Delicious bread from the bakery Lörz, which I really appreciate. Food and drinks, some of which are cheap. Büble beer, unfortunately not on tap at the moment, but the bottle is also good... and red Tobi. There are also other beers. Good wines. The choice of food is relatively limited and this restaurant is certainly not a gourmet temple. Instead, good home cooking with the usual selection. But also affordable for the average citizen.
