Were there for the Christmas buffet, unfortunately refilling the buffet didn't work. The guests stood in front of empty buffet containers for about 25 minutes. When the meat was refilled, the side dishes were missing again. The antipasti plate or starters were not refilled at all. The taste and quality of the food was top notch. The buffet opening times are from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., unfortunately you will be informed again shortly after 8:25 p.m. that the buffet will be cleared away because the service staff are very busy. They convey a certain dissatisfaction, which is easy to sense.

Bourgeois cuisine without modern culinary art!

My first time there was at the Friday evening buffet. Everything was very tasty: there are breaded schnitzels, crispy duck, pork fillet and sauerbraten that you can cut off yourself. Numerous side dishes and sauces are also offered. Really great for the price of just under €25! All the employees were very friendly and always attentive. I'd love to come back!

Went to the Großer Kurfürst for the first time today. Mega delicious food and very friendly guests and employees on site. Junior was even given a small toy. A really rustic restaurant that we would like to visit again.

They offer really great “all-you-can-eat” buffets that are very good and plentiful and are reasonably priced. There is also delicious beer from the Allgäu. The service is friendly and quick. Highly recommended!

It must mean something when you drive from Wiesbaden to Karlsruhe to the asparagus buffet. Having already taken part in an asparagus buffet in the Allgäu, I have to say that it tasted just as good in Karlsruhe. There was plenty of food and more and more refills, so that in the end we were more than full.

The asparagus buffet had meat, side dishes and starters that were okay but the main protagonist (asparagus) was not acceptable!!! (bitter and fibrous) and that wasn't just our opinion.

It was our first time there for the schnitzel buffet. We liked it very much. The food is very tasty, service is great and the price-performance ratio is great. We will definitely come back.

A very nice cult restaurant in the middle of Weststadt. The food and drink as well as the service convinced me to come to the buffet a second time. The price-performance ratio and the taste are excellent. The buffet offers a range of starters and main courses.

Went there for a buffet meal, service was very good, which is absolutely not a given today. The quality of the food was good and there was always enough. The restaurant was well attended. The ambience is a bit old but also has a certain charm. The cleanliness could do with a bit of work. Thanks for the nice evening.

The last real German inn in Karlsruhe with traditional roast, fish and steak dishes, either on the menu or at the buffets. It's a shame that there is no longer a smoking area. We believe the price increases are justified, even if we have to admit that the general economic situation forces us to save money. In many areas of life, costs have increased massively. Government (and not by innkeepers) increased. You have to say that because the innkeepers here can't do anything about it. Keep it up, and hopefully more often soon.

A delicious all-you-can-eat buffet for a reasonable price. Everything was always filled up very quickly and the food was very tasty. Unfortunately, ambience is not my thing, there are too many different styles for me personally, but everyone has their own taste. Service was ok although we had to wait longer for drinks

A great buffet is offered here. Unfortunately the original reviews have disappeared. The food is great and I've been coming here to eat very often for years. There is always schnitzel and a constantly changing selection of other dishes. The price is more than fair if not cheap for what is offered. There was never anything wrong with the food and the service is always attentive and friendly. All I can say about the bad rating because of the price is that there is always a large sign in front of the entrance. The sign always says which buffet is today, so schnitzel or steak or special buffet... AND... The price is really big. If you can't tell at the entrance how much the buffet costs, you should go to the optician. And even if the buffet costs 3 euros more if there are steaks on the weekend... Someone should show me something comparable at that price.

Sensational restaurant that we and friends have been visiting for many years and on a regular basis the selection of food is fantastic, the quality is great and the service is excellent, you feel like you are in a big family and are always very well looked after and everyone likes the food , even vegetarians have been happy here, but the menu is of course more geared towards meat dishes and that's a good thing You can also really celebrate birthdays or other family celebrations here Best price-performance ratio you can imagine in this setting given the great quality and deliciousness of the dishes.

I can only recommend the Elector to anyone who wants to eat well and on a budget. I was there last Friday, it was buffet day and everything was very good and deliciously prepared in a nice atmosphere. Cost for the buffet: €21.90 per head. Absolutely top value for money!

The value for money of the schnitzel buffet cannot be beaten. There is a decent selection and the food is very tasty. The waiters take good care of you and are courteous and friendly! However, be careful, no cards are accepted!

Very friendly staff, I only ate the herbivorous part of the buffet but it was delicious (only the peas were a bit dry). If you ask, you can find something to eat even as a vegan. 😇

We've been to the all-you-can-eat schnitzel a few times and are absolutely thrilled with the delicious food and the warm and attentive service. In addition to schnitzels, there are other meat dishes as well as a good selection of different side dishes. The starters and the salad buffet are also absolutely fresh and really tasty. We'd love to come back!

Last night we had a nice feast. I was looking for something like that. Good cuisine, cozy restaurant. The price-performance ratio is of course unbeatable. There was roast beef, pork steaks with delicious sauce, schnitzel, dumplings (shredded, great idea), fries, croquettes, mashed potatoes and so on. Salad buffet and snacks with sausage salad were also available. We were served very nicely and felt welcome. Everything I like to eat. We'll be back :)

Great price/performance. We went to the schnitzel buffet (turkey & pork) on Wednesdays. We also offer a very large selection of different dishes. First of all, a soup as a starter, as well as a large salad bar with various salads. In addition to the above-mentioned schnitzel, there was also turkey slices, boiled beef with potatoes and horseradish sauce (like grandma's), as well as side dishes (fries, spaetzle, vegetable croquettes, etc.). Really a lot of selection for really fair prices.

I can only recommend the schnitzel buffet. There is also a salad bar, pasta and other surprises such as: Game meat. Price performance is unbeatably good! The beer with it is also very tasty. The first impression from outside was pretty shabby but it's worth it!

I came because of the good reviews, but unfortunately I can't fully understand them. The buffet was partly okay, but nothing more. OK, the price is cheap, but unfortunately the meat was completely fried and dry except for the schnitzel. The sausage salad had more onions than sausage. The “biergarten” is the backyard of a block of houses. Not worth the long journey from the city…

Great Elector Karlsruhe The bar/restaurant is located on the western edge of the city center. The food is very good. I was there for the asparagus buffet. The selection is very good, there was everything your heart could desire and there was really nothing missing. The schnitzels were very, very tasty. Everything is just great. Boerarten are also great beer from the Radeberger Group, e.g. Bad beer. The service is absolutely top, very polite, friendly and accommodating. They also fulfilled my special request for cranberries for the great pancakes. Thank you very much for that. What's also interesting is that the place is also a bit of a gallery, with different pictures on the wall. The boss is a picture collector. Parking spaces are on the streets. The train stop is not far, so it can also be easily reached on foot. Next visit will be the schnitzel buffet...I'm excited. I'd love to come back. Kind regards Alexander

Not just schnitzel, roast beef, roast pork but also lots of side dishes. Fries, croquettes, pasta casserole... a complete buffet for only 15 euros that's incredible. Schnitzel tender without fat, roast beef as tender and tasty as grandma's. Were there on Wednesday with a reservation. Will also come Friday/Saturday for a different buffet. Only recommended. Restaurant has more of a pub character but the food is important.

As always, very tasty food. Unfortunately, the appetizer buffet was already pretty empty at 7 p.m. and was then no longer refilled. But the rest of the food was plentiful. Every time there is one dish that I would describe as outstanding. The kitchen knows its craft.

Were a wedding group yesterday, We received a great welcome both when we made our reservation and when we arrived there. We really had a great experience in this restaurant. The employees are just super nice and we were able to accommodate a lot of requests. And thanks to the great communication, everything on our day turned out perfectly. We were at the schnitzel buffet for the second and certainly not the last time and I have to say, it was again really tasty. An absolute highlight are definitely the soups (very strong and tasty) and the mashed potatoes also completely blew me away. The waitresses were very friendly, even towards children, and the charm of this rustic pub was unbeatable. We would definitely like to come back. Price performance top :)

No greeting upon entry. Questions about the buffet are answered unfriendly (e.g. whether there is spaetzle too/which there isn't!). At the table there was even a reprimand from the waitress. I don't want to be treated like that and left the restaurant in a hurry. The toilet smells underground.

Best damn Goulash Soup you'll ever eat outside of Hungary is right here in KA!! We enjoyed the "Kurfürst Buffet" on Saturday and it was really great. Nobody leaves here hungry. Everybody leaves here with a big smile and a full belly (no exceptions). There's something for everyone here. The Goßer Kurfürst makes me wish I had two bellies because I could try more than just my favorites because all the food here is delicious. I'll be back!!!

I read the really good reviews and thought I'd go. At 7.30 p.m. I looked at the buffet and there wasn't much left in the salad bar, soup was still there, schnitzel too but hardly any side dishes, 5 croquettes, a few old fries and potatoes. Vegetables, spaetzle and red cabbage were still fairly well filled. I wasn't offered a la card at all, so I had to take the buffet. It wasn't refilled again and they started clearing away at 8:30 p.m. It may be advisable to go straight after opening, but if you come later you're out of luck. I can't recommend it.

Was like my living room years ago. Returned now. To run away! Bad mood among the staff, which is passed on one-to-one to the guest. What happened to you and what's going on? Very sad!
