Werkbank in Karlsruhe

Wir haben kurzfristig reserviert und noch einen Tisch bekommen. Die Servicekraft hatte darauf hingewiesen, dass sie allein sei, und das deswegen der Service etwas langsamer sein könnte. Dies war überhaupt nicht der Fall. Wir wurden bestens versorgt und habe sehr lecker gegessen.

Super Schnitzel, Bestes Rahmsößchen... leider doch etwas Teurer und kein Salat dabei aber dennoch 9,5/10

Sehr gutes Essen zu fairen Preisen. Freundliches Personal in einem gemütlichen Ambiente.

Wir sind auf Empfehlung hierher gekommen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Der Rostbraten war ein Gedicht (genau auf den Punkt gebraten), sogar die Spätzle waren selbst gemacht. Auch die Fleischküchle und insbesondere die Soße dazu einfach hervorragend. Sogar die Crème brûlée war selbst gemacht und bestand nicht einfach nur aus etwas Vanillepudding, wie man es aus anderen Restaurants kennt. Das Essen hat ein paar Minuten länger gedauert, bis es gekommen ist, aber alles im Rahmen. Wenn etwas frisch zubereitet wird, dann kostet das eben etwas Zeit. Die Bedienung immer aufmerksam und freundlich, lediglich die Stühle sind auf Dauer etwas unbequem. Alles in allem definitiv ein gelungener Abend.

Preis/Leistung des Essens überzogen: Mäßige Küche, mit Gratisbrot sehr zurückhaltend, selbst Ketchup wird zusätzlich berechnet. Von den 7 Essen mit Vorspeisensalat hat nur der Feldsalat überzeugt. Service war aufmerksam. Wir hatten trotzdem Spaß, aber aus anderen Gründen.

Liebevoll eingerichtet Gaststätte, übersichtliche Speisekarte, höflicher und schneller Service, sehr gute Essensqualität, Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist stimmig und man ist wirklich ein Gast! Sehr zu empfehlen für einen tollen Abend oder nur ein schnelles Abendessen. Sehr gerne wieder!

Bestes Restaurant mit deutscher Küche, in dem wir jemals waren! Werkbank hat eine recht kleine Speisekarte, es gibt auch saisonale Spezialitäten und das Essen ist wirklich 10/10! Mit viel Liebe angerichtet, ordentliche Portionen und geschmacklich wirklich Wahnsinn gut. Tolles Ambiente, es gibt nicht sehr viele Plätze, dadurch ist es im Restaurant aber auch nicht furchtbar laut. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam, nicht aufdringlich und super freundlich! Wir hatten einen tollen Abend dort!

Wir waren hier vor einem Konzert etwas essen. Das Restaurant hat uns wirklich sehr überrascht. Erwartet habe ich eine gutbürgerliche, rustikale Küche. Essen war überaus lecker. Der Braten hat vollstens überzeugt. Service war trotz voller Werkbank sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Eine schöne Wirtschaft, schön eingerichtet mit einer kleinen Karte auf hohem Niveau. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr angenehm. Man kann sich gut unterhalten und wird auch sehr freundlich bedient.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Draußen sitzt man wunderschön und erstaunlich ruhig. Nicht günstig, aber den Preis wert. Die Portionen sind allerdings zu klein. Ich bin kein Vielfraß, aber davon werde ich nicht satt. Auf einen sehr freundlichen Hinweis per E-Mail gab es auch auf nach nochmaliger Nachfrage keine Reaktion. Enttäuschend.

Ambiente ok. Bedienungen sehr freundlich. Das Essen (Werkbankschnitzel für 25 €) schmeckte einfach nur nach Butterschmalz, da es so flach geklopft war, dass das Fleisch kaum geschmeckt werden konnte. Gott sei Dank noch etwas Rahmsoße (5,50 € zusätzlich) dazu bestellt. Gut war die Creme Brülee als Nachspeise.

Deutsche "haute-cuisine" wie man sie in Karlsruhe kaum besser bekommt. Es ist kein Schnellrestaurant sondern ein Genuss. Hier essen zu gehen macht einfach Spaß!

Finally visited. It was a recommendation from many people, and it was absolutely right. The craftsmanship is completely honest and very tasty. The best schnitzel in a long time, and the fries too. Be sure to try the meatballs, the sauces are heavenly. All in all, we'll definitely be back.

Spent an evening here with two friends. Ambience: We sat outside by the side of the road. However, it's so quiet there that you hardly noticed it. The food: Great. We had schnitzel and veal sweetbreads (from the daily specials). Both dishes seem to be prepared entirely on-site in the kitchen. So, there's little to no convenience food on your plate. The authentic Wiener schnitzel is definitely the perennial favorite there. Service: Very friendly and attentive. They leave nothing to be desired. We were very pleased with the sweetbreads. They're not available every day. They were delicious with the chanterelle mushrooms and the sauce.

The best sauces and soups I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Despite their pleasantly intense flavor, they have an incredibly light mouthfeel, and all the other components of the meal are of the highest quality.

Absolute disaster!!! Even though the "restaurant," if you can call it that, was almost empty, I was shown a seat by the voluminous, unfriendly waitress, claiming I had a reservation. When I sat down somewhere else, I was made to wait half an hour because chatting with colleagues was more important. I then left without eating or drinking anything. Friendliness and service don't seem to be Werkbank's forte, which is disastrous for a restaurant. There are better places to spend my money.

The restaurant has a cool traditional atmosphere and great service. Unfortunately, there are not many offers for vegan and vegetarian people, in spite of what it says in some websites. Nevertheless, the service was extremely kind and cooked a delicious warm salad for me.

Inspired by a very appealing Instagram post, we spontaneously visited the restaurant. When we arrived there were only 3 tables occupied. Great, we thought, then it wouldn’t take that long. When we sat at the table, after about 20 minutes, we asked ourselves whether we had perhaps been forgotten and as if she had heard, the waitress came around the corner to pick up the drinks, which unfortunately took so long again. Why was a mystery to us at first, but the solution would become apparent later. My wife ordered the Maultaschen and I the workbench schnitzel. All in all, freshly prepared but unfortunately a little under-seasoned. Tastes are different, so everything is fine. We entered the restaurant around 5:30 p.m. and left at 8:06 p.m. The waiting times are an absolute no-go and the two waitresses were hopelessly overwhelmed. The displeasure with the slow service was clearly visible not only to us, but also to the other guests. Conclusion: Fresh cuisine but the rest definitely still has a lot of room for improvement.

We have been here several times and the food is excellent. I usually choose the Wiener Schnitzel, and that leads me to the downer: on my last visit, the schnitzel was significantly smaller than on previous visits and also significantly smaller than that of my companion and the other guests in the field of vision. The reasoning that my schnitzel was not too small, but that my companion's was too big is therefore not very credible. We're not talking about a small difference here, but about half the size. I was annoyed that I didn't receive any concessions. The service staff seemed annoyed and very distant. As a guest, I didn't feel taken seriously and there was no willingness to accommodate. This is disappointing, especially given the price range of the restaurant. Only after several comments that this situation was not okay for us did we get a shot on the house. So, as I said: The food was, as always, delicious and of high quality, but this experience left a bitter aftertaste.

Food was incredibly good. Small menu, dishes prepared with care and fresh ingredients. Amazing dim light atmosphere and not loud. Service was nice although could be a little faster. Overall amazing dining experience as a group.

Review: An evening in German cuisine – first-class food, great service This evening I had the pleasure of visiting a restaurant that celebrates German cuisine at its best. From start to finish it was a culinary experience that I can thoroughly recommend. I chose the Wiener Schnitzel, which was just perfect – tender, fried to a golden brown and accompanied by a homemade gravy. A real treat! The salad served with it was a real surprise: fresh, refined and with pickled sour radish, which I had never tried in this form before. The combination was exceptional and simply outstanding with homemade dressing. The other dishes that I spotted at the surrounding tables were also impressive: from hearty Maultaschen and cheesy spaetzle to venison canelloni and perfectly fried liver - everything seemed to be prepared lovingly and with a lot of care. As we all know, the eye eats with us, and this aspect was definitely not neglected here. The value for money was excellent. The quality of the food and the courteous, warm service completely justify the prices. Here you can feel the passion for good food in every fork. The ambience? Well, it is kept rather simple and straightforward - in keeping with the name of the restaurant, the “Werkbank”. A matter of taste, as they say. For me, however, the focus was on the excellent food and there was nothing wrong with that. Conclusion: If you value first-class German cuisine and are not distracted by simple design, you will get your money's worth here. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

The waitress was very unfriendly. I asked for salt. She said she'd bring it to me. After my food was almost cold, I went to get it myself and received a rude comment from the waitress. I recommend that this waitress further training in "attentive and respectful behavior and friendly communication with guests!"

The 5 of us were there for dinner, we ordered 4 schnitzels and one Schupfnudeln, everything was great and tasty until we ordered the dessert, 3 times of classic crème brulée, it is thick and, as the impression suggests, creamy. Unfortunately it sometimes flakes and becomes "gritty" and that's how it was with us... since no one asked in between, we ate it, but since we didn't think it was right we reported it to the winemaker - (no reaction, no apology) at the table It was eating next to us 15 minutes later and told us that it tasted "gritty". Please accept the negative reviews even if everything else was delicious.

What awaits us here now? a simply furnished restaurant, Noticeably only two workbenches converted into tables, house on a corner with very friendly service. OK, what should we eat🤔 What can I say, the prices held me back a little in advance Order starter: goat cheese and chicken liver. We chose the onion roast roast as the main course and had it divided between two plates. What can I say, based on the menu prices I was prepared for a very good meal, at least that's what I thought. It was completely fulfilling for me and my partner! Absolutely delicious!!!! A special compliment to the cook and the chef, this onion roast dish was bomb😊👍 Everything's great, just go there and make your own judgement😉

We chose the workbench for our family celebration and didn't regret it! As expected, all guests enjoyed the food very much. Everyone could find something to their taste on the selected menu. Our wishes were taken into account and everything was as previously discussed. Great food (everything seasonal and homemade), great service, just an all-round feel-good atmosphere that we are happy to recommend!

We were at the workbench for the first time with our friends on Saturday evening. Our dishes included monkfish with mashed potatoes, salad/glazed poultry liver with balsamic jus, roast with spaetzle/creme brulee/chocolate soufflé. All dishes were freshly prepared, cooked to perfection and very delicious. The homemade sauces for fish, liver and roast were really outstanding. The salad was also fresh and dressed with a good dressing. The restaurant is highly recommended because the price-performance ratio is also good. We'd love to come back!

We had 1x sliced ​​veal liver, 1x roast roast, 2x Maultaschen, 1x fish as the main course. Everything fresh and homemade. I haven't tried the Maultaschen myself, but according to our blackheads they seem to have used a pasta dough for the dough and not the usual one. Kurzfristig an einem schönen Sommerabend mit Freunden zur Werkbank gegangen. Netter Service, schön im Freien gesessen. Essen lecker. Insgesamt hätte es mit dem Service ein bisschen schneller gehen können.

In der Werkbank wurde ich noch nie enttäuscht. Das Essen ist spitze. Auch am Service gibt es nichts zu kritisieren. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Die Speisekarte ist seit langer Zeit gleich. Eine Veränderung würde der Werkbank sicher gut tun.

Wir waren an meinem Geburtstag am Abend dort zum Essen in kleiner Runde. Reingekommen, gleich begrüßt und unseren Tisch gezeigt bekommen. Die Bedienung war den ganzen Abend freundlich und weder zu aufdringlich noch wenig präsent. Das Essen sah nicht nur gut aus, sondern es waren riesige Portionen und geschmacklich sehr lecker. Die Location ist super schön eingerichtet und es war dort eine angenehme Lautstärke, sodass man sich auch normal unterhalten konnte, und Atmosphäre. Ich kann das nur weiterempfehlen 👍🏻
