Beautiful view, delicious food, and people who complain about the price of a Maß (liter of beer). Try looking for a place where a Maß costs 5.60. Always happy. The food arrived within 20 minutes even though it was full. 👍 Great playground for the kids. We came with 20 people (reservations required).

Well, it couldn't be better. Although it was very chilly at the end of September... it was both. The service was quick and very friendly. The food (boiled beef and bratwurst) was outstanding, as was the beer. I can highly recommend this cellar to any cellar lover. I want to come back 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Very popular beer garden, prices very reasonable.

The service was completely understaffed, and the drinks and food took a correspondingly long time to arrive. The quality and taste of the food is consistently excellent, just as it was 15 years ago. Everything is reasonably priced; a huge grilled knuckle of pork with sauerkraut and bread was around €13, an unbeatable price. Parking is available, but it was full, and the restrooms could be kept cleaner. Otherwise, an unbeatable restaurant for day trips. Note: cash only.

The grilled shoulder of pork is a disgrace. It's not grilled, but deep-fried! The so-called sun terrace is also a disgrace; the feel-good factor is zero. This place needs some renovation. And the water is more expensive than beer. Overall, very disappointing.

Tasty Märzen beer on tap. Hot food like knuckle of pork or Schäuferla (a kind of pork knuckle), and cold snacks. Friendly service. Perfect for a beer hall. Play areas for children available. Reasonable value for money.

The beer garden is located in the forest above Wettelsheim with a beautiful view; the black pudding and liver sausage with sauerkraut was very good. The service was only "moderately friendly." The price/performance ratio is good. I'll go back when I get the chance.

Absolutely fantastic for anyone who likes a typical Franconian beer garden. Unbeatable prices, very good food, simple of course, but just as it should be. Fast service and very friendly; you won't have to have long conversations about food allergies here. You're better off going to the Michelin-starred Jean Paul or something similar. One small tip for improvement: a bit of music would be the icing on the cake.

Beautiful beer cellar with fantastic views over the Altmühl Valley and the Swabian Rezat River. They serve Wettelsheim beer and Franconian cuisine, including both hot meals and snacks. On warm days, it's pleasantly cool under the trees. However, there are also a lot of guests, and seating and parking become scarce. So it's better to walk or bike there. And be prepared to share a beer table with other guests if it's really busy. This sometimes leads to some nice conversations... There's usually always room for one or two people, but for more people, you might have to wait a bit at peak times, especially if you're more than four people.

We were there for the first time with a cycling group. Lovely beer garden with a fantastic view. The Märzen beer was very drinkable and, for €3.20, totally worth it. Our Schäuferl (pork shoulder), Haxn (ham hocks), and bratwurst were delicious.

Great local place for beers, lunch, and view. Not much English being spoken here -unless you engage in English so no issues- as it is packed with locals, especially bikers on the day I visited. Had a Frankish specialty-Schaufele. Quite good. Prices cannot be beat. Unlike a city or tourist destination, the prices are quite low actually. And the beer - was cold and tasty! Worth the trip.

Mass processing. Not enough staff for a crowded Sunday evening. Long waits for drinks and food. The shoulder of pork was dry, the sauerkraut was soggy, and we sent back the dessert (Küchele, €3.50) because it tasted inedible, like old fat (we were then told they were just thawed and not freshly baked).

So, this isn't for vegans or people who want an iced ristretto with two shots of something. Lovers of hearty, substantial meals and great beer, however, will be in seventh heaven here. I've been coming to the Wettelsheimer Keller for 50 years, just like my father and grandfather. You still get value for money here. A slice of bread with minced bratwurst, followed by blood sausage and liver sausage with sauerkraut, always delicious. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the wonderful memories and the good times we had with you.

We go to the beer garden again and again. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, with large portions. The service is friendly and quick. We highly recommend it.

My husband swears by it, but I can't confirm it. Nice view? Yes. The food is okay. However, I don't find it cozy; the waiters only come by at long intervals, and I had already finished my (hot) meal long before the rest of my family got theirs (cold). And I don't understand how you still can't pay by card in 2025...

Great service, nice beer garden, but the food could have been a bit better. Unfortunately, the pork knuckle was lacking seasoning (yes, you can add more salt, but then it won't penetrate the crust), and my fries were unfortunately too salty. It happens sometimes, but it took half an hour to get a replacement, which is a bit long for a fries that weren't returned. Nevertheless, we'll be back.

Not only can I recommend this place to every beer lover, but the food is also great. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and very good. A beautiful view is also included.

Delicious food and beer, but we had to wait quite a bit to be served, and another 1.5 hours! Before we could pay for our meal. The waiter was able to check on the tables a bit more often. This also hampered our plans for the evening.

Wonderful, rustic beer garden! People come from far and wide to enjoy the great view and delicious Franconian food. Unfortunately, it's no longer an insider tip, so it's usually very busy. Nevertheless, the service here is always prompt and friendly; you never have to wait long for your draft beer or your food. The cakes are also great! A unique beer garden experience. Unfortunately, we don't live nearby anymore, but we try to come here at least once a year!

We always enjoy visiting Wettelsheim and this cellar. It's simply breathtakingly beautiful to look out over the vast countryside from above.

We've been coming here for 25 years. But today the food wasn't good; the shank was tough and overcooked, and my wife's beer was a mess. I'm a butcher myself, but unfortunately they didn't accommodate me on the bill. They offered me a shot, but I had to drive. Of course, I returned the shank.

Service and ambiance were impeccable, with a beautiful view. BUT(!): in a Franconian beer garden, you don't want to be served "bucket potato salad" garnished with "greens" as a traditional Franconian dish! Not everyone tolerates cabbage, and especially then, you expect fresh quality in the potato salad. And why you pay €0.80 more for two bratwursts with this potato salad than for two bratwursts with cabbage is incomprehensible. What's the argument? Especially when you ask in advance when ordering and it's not mentioned. Furthermore, Franconian bratwursts shouldn't be split and then turned with the split sides facing down. As for the non-alcoholic drinks, it's a shame that they're poured for a while beforehand, as this causes the drink to lose its carbonation. €4.20 for one(!) Franconian cake is also extremely expensive. And does it really have to be the case that every guest(!) can reach into a container in the dish/ketchup shelf for an extra slice of bread? During our visit, we observed at least three times that people were "rummaging around" in it to find the right disc and touching all the others.

Too many people. The food is just mass-produced. We had the Schlachtplatte (meat platter) and bratwurst. We didn't like the cabbage, and the Schlachtplatte plate was full of cabbage water.

Groups playing loud music through the speakers they brought with them, so that guests can no longer have a conversation, and when you ask the landlady about it, you are told that it's okay. I can't understand how inconsiderate behavior is considered normal.

A very rustic beer garden, just like in the old days! We were very satisfied because the price-performance ratio is still good! Where else can you get a 1.2kg shank of pork or a 600g shoulder of pork these days? And the price is unbeatable! It's amazing that such a thing still exists these days! Even the slightly stronger beer tastes really good, and the service is prompt!

Despite the high temperatures, this idyllic spot is highly recommended thanks to the shade of the trees. Food and drinks are served quickly by friendly staff. Typically Bavarian, just the way we like it on vacation.

Superb location. Great food and very affordable! Highly recommended! We paid €47.00 for 2 adults and 2 children, including drinks. You'll gladly tip a few euros! There's also a playground for children.

We visited the beer garden on a very sunny public holiday. It was accordingly busy. But the drinks and food still came quickly. It was good and not expensive. However, it must be said that this is bordering on mass processing. The beer garden is large and has a fantastic location. The old trees ensure pleasant temperatures even in the heat.
