Very good beer, good value for money, the food was good, the bread (which you can also buy there) is highly recommended, but the staff was overwhelmed by the busy beer garden. It took a long time for a waitress to come to the table. There is still room for improvement in terms of friendliness. The snacks were served quickly, but we had to wait almost an hour and a half (!) for the warm dishes (hock and sausage roll). We took it with humor and drank one more beer. The location of the cellar is very nice in itself, but the ambience was somewhat lost due to the many guests and tables placed close together.

Idyllic beer garden, fairest prices, best service. Only the beer could use a little more carbonation. But that's complaining at a high level.

Dry bread and Schäuferle... you expect good "fresh" bread for a snack, that was really disappointing... cabbage and bratwurst were good... service was super friendly... you can go there...

Beer and service quick and good Schäuferla from the grill, half a portion, but there was also a bratwurst with it. The waitress said that because it is so small with a 3 cm layer of fat, the rind is rubbery and the butcher and chef are out of place

Not an insider tip, but an absolute one. Well attended, Märzen from wooden barrels, very tasty snacks, cold and warm. Personally: Beer was very good, too malty and not enough hops.

There's a lot of Schäuferle and some nice knuckles. Really recommended!

Once upon a time.........I've known the cellar for around 40 years and unfortunately I've noticed that the food on offer has lost quality over the years. I ordered the slaughter plate on Monday. Large portion, but unfortunately quite "tasteless" and not really hot. A slice of belly that ends up lukewarm and fairly firm to the bite with bristles on the rind... well, if you like it. It's just mass production at reasonable prices. A real highlight is the beer... it gets not just five, but 6 stars

Great beer garden with a view and very good Wettelsheimer beer and very good food..

Unfortunately not like it used to be. Pure mass processing, overcrowded and there were leftover food and lipstick hanging on the jugs. After you pointed this out, the boss yelled at you that you were crazy and that it supposedly came from the wooden barrels and that you should please leave now. No recognition of the error, instead you are insulted. You don't treat your customers like that, I've never experienced anything like that. No more recommendation.

Sind sehr geduldig und verständnisvoll, aber nach über EINER Stunde hatten wir noch nicht mal was zu trinken bestellen können!! Von Essen ganz zu schweigen. Das Personal war zwar nett, aber ein besonders unfreundlicher und grantiger Mann (anscheinend der Chef) hat die Leute trotz netter Anrede zurückgeschnauzt (Ja wensch zu blöd bisch dir des Bier selbst zu hola). Auf den (höflichen) Hinweis, dass der zum Keller gehörige Hund (zwar süß) vielleicht nur mit den Kindern spielen wollte, manche Kinder aber Panik bekamen als er hinter ihnen hergerannt ist und fast den Hang heruntergestürzt sind, kam nur die Antwort "dann solla die halt net hierher komma!"

When the weather is nice, a great view of the Altmühltal with Märzenbier and a hearty snack. The "environment" of the cellar should be refreshed and thus become more appealing.

Great food and beer at more than fair prices. 1 liter of freshly tapped beer for €4.60! Unfortunately, card payment is still not possible in 2021! Still world class in 2024!

A rustic beer garden with Franconian and Bavarian dishes at reasonable prices with a great view over the Altmühltal. The real highlight is the beer - delicious Wettelsheimer Kellermärzen tapped from a wooden barrel without pressure - is there anything better? When the weather is right, we always enjoy coming here.

Everything fits. Food very good and service top. What surprises me as a spoiled Upper Franconian is why is this beer so highly praised? Sorry, in our taste this beer is disgusting. I'm sorry, but tastes are different.

The beer garden is in a wonderful location. The Märzen is really extremely tasty. The operation is very demanding, but just as reliable. The food is really Franconian, hearty, just as you would have imagined. And at really moderate prices!! Lots of parking spaces, often not even enough. But the fight for a parking space is ultimately worth it.

Still worth a visit. The cellar is a bit old, but the location and the price-performance ratio are very good. The service is quick and friendly. When there is a lot going on, you sometimes have to wait longer for the food because the kitchen is not designed for a full basement. Nevertheless, the cellar is a must visit every year.

We really enjoy going there. Nice beer garden on 2 levels on the edge of the forest, we've always been able to get a seat and the food is delicious.

Cult cellar with a view Simple Franconian cuisine. Very tasty bread. Beer too. Bratwurst: very good. Schäufele/Haxn grilled - a little too dry - deep fried, almost fibrous... Be sure to try this good herb. It's often not really hot, but it's still a must! Sausage salad and farmer's platter were very good. Bratwurst bread - a rustic delight. Catering/service - Franconian/dry. Nice too. Almost unchanged - since the 70th :) meant positively. Unfortunately there are no ashtrays.

The beer is uniquely cheap. And excellent in taste. We love the beer 🍺. The grilled knuckle is fried but also tastes good. Food prices have risen sharply! You can really write that. Because it's true. The toilets are not what you might expect! There is no soap from the dispenser. Otherwise it looks very nice! I don't want to write any more now. Everyone should get their own impression of the circumstances! Service was really great. What the women do there is truly commendable!

The only thing that's good is the beer and the fresh bread. Pork knuckle, Leberkäs, bratwursts from the deep fryer even though the menu says grilled. Leberkäs was tough, dry and simply inedible. Sausage salad without taste. You might think he's just turned on with water. The service didn't bring any vinegar, despite ordering! Service overwhelmed, pure mass processing!!! You sit very closely (back to back with the person behind) We didn't feel comfortable

The service couldn't keep up with 8 tables. Many guests got up again without eating because it took about 1.5 hours and left again. But eat really very good 👍

Schöner Biergarten mit einer tollen Aussicht. Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe hier und der Service war hervorragend. Zum Essen: es hat auch jeden geschmeckt. War zwar ungewöhnlich zu einem Schäuferla Pommes statt Kloß mit Soße zu bekommen, aber war trotzdem ok. Preislich absolut ok 👌

Einfach eine Oase für den Gaumen

Es war gut wie immer. Wir gehen dort gerne hin. Kinder haben dort die Möglichkeit im Wald zu spielen oder eben auf den Spielplätzen. Die Leute dort sind nett.

Zu viele Gäste oder zu wenig Servicekräfte Essen hat auch zu lange gedauert bis es aus der Küche kam Essen sehr lecker, fränggische Hausmanskost perfekt

Erstmal das Positive: Gutes, deftiges Essen, faire Preise, sehr freundliches, nettes Personal! Ausblick ebenfalls sehr schön. Leider Spielplatz recht untergekommen, nur noch wenige Trampoline nutzbar, der Unterbau der Terrasse wirkt beinahe einsturzgefährdet, Gang wie durch eine Abrissbaustelle.

Wir haben den Biergarten heute besucht. Er ist absolut zu empfehlen. Der Service ist super freundlich und echt auf Zack. Das Bier ist echt weltklasse. ACHTUNG für die Autofahrer: extrem süffig ;-) Das Essen war auch super. Es gab Schäufele mit Kraut, Bratwurst in der Semmel und Zwiebel-Hackbrot. Alles absolut lecker gewesen. Fazit: wir kommen wieder :-)

Komme seit Kindheit, damals mit meinem Vater, hierher. Jetzt mit 80 Jahren immer noch sehr gerne. Einfach der beste fränkische Biergarten. Atmosphäre Essen und Trinken einfach nur gut. Hoffe noch lange hinzukönnen.

Super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Preislich schon immer unerreicht und der Ausblick vom Keller einfach immer wieder schee.

Weitgehend vegetarierfreie Zone mit umwerfend gutem Bier! Da zahlst fürd Maß noch unter 6 Euro. WIe bereits angedeutet - die Speisekarte ist auf deftige Speisen beschränkt. Wer Salat oder Pizza essen möchte ist hier grundlegend falsch.

Nette Location und wir sind gerne hingegangen. Das Bier ist echt lecker, das Essen solide (entsprechend Preis-Leistung). Leider war unserer letzter Besuch mit einem faden Beigeschmack. Wir bemerkten erst Zuhause, dass wir 10 Euro zuviel bezahlt haben. Die Servicekraft, die schon am Abend mit wenig Freundlichkeit uns bediente, hat sich beim Kopfrechnen vertan. Kann passieren, sollte aber nicht. Wir würden wiederkommen, beim Bezahlen aber aufmerksamer sein.

Nicht um sonst an erster Stelle im Fränkischen Biergarten Katalog. Von der Vielfalt der Speisen war ich überrascht und der Preis ist super. Bedienung freundlich und aufmerksam. Da gibt man dann auch gerne ein Trinkgeld.
