Westwind Café Restaurant in Hamburg

We ordered the antipasti plate for EUR 14.90 and the five falafels for EUR 6.90 as well as the chorizo ​​peppers. We waited three quarters of an hour for this. Chorizo ​​didn't come at all. Everything else was a big joke. Unfortunately we forgot to take photos. The antipasti plate consisted of Mediterranean frozen vegetables and a white dip (no aioli as stated), which was partly black and had nothing to do with antipasti. The falafel wasn't freshly made either. And there was no mint yoghurt dip as stated. Price not justified for both. A big disappointment for us.

I ordered a baked Camembert. I got that too, along with a gigantic, completely oversized amount of jam and two halved grapes. One asks oneself: Why? Why not add a mini branch of grapes? Why this unsightly pile of jam? Why not add two mini slices of baguette? Or a lettuce leaf under the Camembert? Hmm. That leaves me perplexed...

Very tasty breakfast is offered there

We often eat here with my daughter. Always very tasty, healthy and also cooked in a child-friendly way (you no longer have to constantly choose between fries and nuggets or something like that for your child, as is unfortunately so often the case in other restaurants). Super friendly, super nice and served quickly. We recommend!

Went for breakfast in Westwind today with 5 people. Westwind, cheese and St. George breakfast. Everything was plentiful and served very attractively. We had nothing to complain about in terms of quality. If you expect cold but perfect service, you're in the wrong place here. There is service here with heart and soul. I also like to wait 5 minutes for my coffee. I see what's going on.

If I could give minus stars I would do so. Not to mention the food, the service was absolutely subterranean and really bottomless with 2/3 of the waitresses. In the middle of the cafe, a tray with two coffees was thrown onto the bar table at full speed because the waitress walked past me and then got stuck on my backpack. She was so angry because of the spilled coffee that she threw the entire tray with the two cups against the bar table in the crowded café. I've never experienced anything like that. There was no apology for this outburst. The other waiter also absolutely failed in his job. Was absolutely annoyed by every one of his guests. “We want to pay by card!” Answer: "Woah, can't you pay cash?" Another guest still needed cutlery, even that he was absolutely annoyed and when he was collecting the money he told the guests how glad he was that it was almost the end of the day. Hamburg has so many other beautiful cafés, don't make the same mistake as us.

Great breakfast, incredibly nice and great people

I had a Thai curry. Unfortunately it wasn't spicy, the rice was al dente and both the rice and the curry were lukewarm. My son's request for tap water could not or could not be met. As a former service worker, I would also have expected more friendliness. Too bad. What stood out from everything was d. Tofu used in the curry. Rarely have I eaten such delicious tofu.

Gorgeous seating and atmosphere. We had a fresh orange juice and an espresso (a real one! Very good) and the Westwind chicken salad which was delicious and great value for money. Highly recommend with its convenient location close to the main train station!

I do not recommend paying with cash at this establishment. The waitress herself said they avoid taxes and can't take card payments for "lower" amounts. Then, they give you the wrong change and gaslight you. Enjoy the 5 extra euros you got!

Definitely an experience. The food was good and delivered fast after we ordered; the service was... Interesting. It took a long time for us to order, we were brought a wrong drink and when a homeless man kept bothering us the waiter definitely saw, but decided to do nothing about it. Paying was also a wild ride, one of us paid too much on accident and we never figured out what exactly went wrong.

A really nice cafe for breakfast. Great selection and completely reasonable in terms of price. The boss is very, very friendly and there is time for a little small talk here and there :) we felt very comfortable and would visit this café again at any time when we are in Hamburg.

Very nice staff and solid products that are not extremely expensive. Nothing special but not bad either, you can definitely do or visit. The only thing that really bothered us were the homeless people who were a bit pushy every 10-15 minutes.

European Football Championship live in Hamburg, Germany against Hungary. We were there around 5 p.m., secured a nice spot outside with a view of the TV. 6:00 p.m. game starts - no sound The waiter explains to us that the boss took the remote control with him and couldn't turn it up. At half time we changed venues. In my opinion, it's hard to bear the kinds of stories that are told to cover up poor service or the bosses who are no longer interested in the needs of their customers.

My second visit after changing operator. And definitely my last! Two different standards for guests, who is "allowed" to sit at/in the window and who is not, unfriendly operator, unprofessional, distant service, supposedly no credit card payment is possible, but that is not true. From 9:00 p.m. onwards, things are cleaned up in an inhospitable manner. No wonder the customers stay away.

Wir waren früher oft hier, doch schon seit einiger Zeit blieben unsere Besuche konstant enttäuschend, umotiviertes, gereiztes Personal, nachlassende Qualität. Wir hofften immer wieder, es sei nur dummer Zufall gewesen. Nach dem heutigen Erlebnis - wirklich stark überteuerter Kaffee, der nicht gut schmeckte, vor allem aber ein Chefkellner, der Gäste grob herumkommandierte, trübten den Besuch. Jede Frage wurde beantwortet, als handle es sich um eine nervende Zumutung. Mir tun die jungen Mitarbeitenden leid, die wohl unter ihm arbeiten müssen. Als Gast ist man ja zumindest so unabhängig zu sagen: Tschüss, Westwind, das wars.

Hello, We reserved a table for two, then it was only available for 1.5 hours because a larger group came and we were asked to sit at the high table near the entrance. Unfortunately, the French breakfast was only mediocre, as was the cappuccino and the price was quite high. Service was super nice, but unfortunately that was all. We left the restaurant after 1.5 hours.

I always used to like going to Cafe Westwind. Unfortunately, this has completely changed. Not only does the owner serve you very unfriendly, but you are even forced to order food to go with your drinks. You don't feel welcome at all. Unfortunately, I also learned that there are exception rules for certain other guests - they are only allowed to consume drinks. Very annoying!

This is my favorite place to go for breakfast. The breakfast offering is great. Very nicely and variedly prepared. Delicious coffee. The café opens at 10 a.m. and you can sit comfortably in the dining room or outside if the weather is good. I love the photos on the walls. We recommend.

The best boiled potatoes I have ever eaten in a restaurant. We asked around. They are pre-cooked, cooled and then freshly fried or heated again for the respective dish. This not only makes them easier to digest, but also gives them an aroma as if they were “from yesterday” at home, which is something wonderful in my opinion! They are also really well salted and not as weak as they often are. In addition to the excellent potatoes, the dishes are holistically prepared according to the best home cooking and are simply a pleasure. I had to order another main course straight away to see if the portions were generous enough to fill me up. Our waiter Alex, who is astonished in this regard, does his job very straightforwardly, with a lot of dedication and in a very personable manner. Thank you for this wonderful Sunday treat! Uriges kleines Café. Die Frühstücksplatten waren gut bestückt und die Kaffee Spezialitäten sind zu empfehlen. Ein wenig mehr Liebe zum Detail und ein Brötchen mehr statt Brotscheiben wären schön gewesen. Preis Leistung stimmig 👍🏼. Wir kommen wieder 🙂

Ich habe das Café früher oft und gerne besucht, auch am Abend und zum Essen . Aber so unfreundlich wie heute wurde ich noch nie bedient und man sagte uns- trotz Reservierung- wir sollten gehen, da wir nur Kaffee/Tee/ Kuchen, aber kein Essen bestellt haben. Hier werde ich für lange Zeit nicht mehr hingehen.

Mein Burger war innen Roh! Zwei mal drauf hingewiesen, am Schluss musste ich das ganze Burger Menü zahlen. Ich hätte es sagen müssen…. Was ich zwei mal getan habe. Null Toleranz! Nie wieder!

Eigentlich ein toller Laden wir sind gerne dort. Schade nu, dass es scheinbar neue Regeln gibt. Die vietnamesisch aussehende Dame hinter dem Tresen, raucht beim Zapfen und Kaffee machen ihre iQOS-Zigarette! Sowas geht gar nicht und ist ekelig! Deswegen nur zwei Sterne!!!
