Wenzel Dresden-Postplatz in Dresden

On our first evening here we went to eat in this lovely restaurant. We got a table without a reservation, even though it was pretty full. I had roulade with red cabbage and Bohemian dumplings, very, very tasty. The staff are incredibly friendly, the restaurant has a lovely ambience. It was a really lovely evening. Thank you.

Were there in the afternoon, two small soups for €8, price performance is not right.

We had, among other things, the beef roulade with dumplings and red cabbage. We expected much more for the price. The taste is simply below average. Little meat in relation to the side dishes, plus too much filling. But maybe just a matter of taste. The "fries" are anything but tasty and the house lemonades are simply soda with a lot of syrup... almost inedible and the price is not justified. We won't be coming back, apparently just a chain and nothing special. Apparently you can only drink beer here...

A cozy place in the city center with Czech cuisine. We were here at lunchtime and there were almost no visitors. The food is delicious, served quickly, without unnecessary complications. The downside is that we were not allowed to sit on the second floor, although, in my opinion, it is much more comfortable there than on the first floor. I would also like to see more Czech compositions played as musical accompaniment, rather than Western repertoire - this would add to the atmosphere. Overall, the place is great, I recommend it!

The staff was unfriendly and unaccommodating, especially towards my grandparents. No recommendation!

This evening we were relegated to the last seats(?) at the bar quite abruptly and unfriendly because we hadn't made a reservation. The staff is a flagship of this city and it would be a shame if other tourists also had such an experience.

Delicious Czech food from a Czech chef. And the various Czech beers are also very tasty. The Wenzel restaurants in eastern Germany are all highly recommended.

Went to dinner at the Wenzel restaurant in Dresden last Friday. The ambience is right and the Bohemian beer tastes good. However, we were disappointed with the food as it was only served lukewarm. The taste of the food is also average, you can get the same dishes in better quality directly across the border There was also no response from the service after we pointed out the cold food.

Delicious Bohemian cuisine with a selection of Bohemian beers. The dessert was OK, but not outstanding. Very friendly and attentive staff. Quite loud and very busy when almost all seats are occupied. It was much quieter on the upper floor.

Hello, today the goulash soup was again at Wenzels on Postplatz, not much bigger than a coffee cup over 8 euros and a normal salad with a little cheese over twelve euros is exaggerated, well everything is or has become more expensive but you should have the cherry on top let

There is very tasty Bohemian cuisine here. I have never tasted such delicious dumpling fries. Price/performance is just right. The service is also very nice and friendly.

We had reserved with 4 wheelchairs. One of them had to drive again and they just left us standing there and told us to go. Pretty stupid move on your part!! The conditions were unfriendly and they left us alone!!

This was our second time here. The first time last year the food was much tastier. However, this time it was also very crowded. It's better to find one day a week, then it's more comfortable

We had reserved 4 electric wheelchairs for a birthday. The reservation was made by a wheelchair user on site who mentioned that other wheelchairs of the same size were coming. Still, no one knew anything about electric wheelchairs. The waitress left us alone and took care of other guests who came after us. If you expect service and friendliness when visiting a restaurant, you've definitely come to the wrong place.

Had dinner at Wenzel on New Year's Eve after visiting the comedy. Very nice service, delicious food, everything was perfect. Would love to come back.

The employees were super friendly and very attentive! The garlic soup was really good and lived up to its name. You should try it! Unfortunately our goulash and the savicka were just mediocre. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't so good that you would have to go there again. Or maybe the chef was having a bad day. If we're in the area again, we'd love to try it again. 😊

By far the best authentic food I've ever had in a restaurant for this price. I'm drawn to Wenzel every time I'm in Dresden. And now comes the kicker. There are vouchers for January, February and March. If you order 2 dishes you get one free. See you soon!

the food was great! but I had to sit at a table that was probably a door! and it's really cold outside! that wasn't nice! It somewhat detracted from the stay! Otherwise, everything is great! Highly recommend this thing! alex..;o)

Very tasty beef roulade with dumplings and the cream beef roast with dumplings is also very tasty.

Unfortunately this time it was a complete catastrophe :-( Goose leg for €34.50 was ok, but then please don't dry and burnt and the portion was generally smaller compared to last year... the service was very bad in German... the menu was taken back straight away , so no dessert... brace yourself Wenzel

Delicious Czech food at a high price. I think it's a bit excessive for beef goulash with dumplings for over 20 euros and 0.5 liters of beer for 5.6 euros. The ambience is quite nice and fits somewhat. But Wenzel can hardly be compared with other Bohemian restaurants.

Stopped there yesterday at 9:40 p.m. to have a beer at the end of the day. This was rejected because it was too late. “See you tomorrow” was the farewell.

Very nice staff. Hardly any waiting time from Essen. But food prices are a bit high. The side dish (fries) for the burger was quite manageable and lukewarm. Otherwise okay.

We were there on Saturday lunchtime and it was great, everything, the food, the service, was really great. And because it was so great, we made another reservation for Sunday evening and unfortunately that was sobering. The staff was totally stressed and the food was cold or completely raw (the Brussels sprouts). It was just very full and the staff gave their all but we just didn't feel comfortable in the evening and I'm sorry to write that but that's how it was.

Friendly welcome, very nice and competent service, consistently sumptuous, tasty and reasonably priced food. I'll definitely come back here.

The last shop. If there are more than 20 free seats, no more seats will be offered here at 2130 p.m. You seem to have already earned enough. Then we went to Motel One. People were much more open-minded here. Never again Wenzel.

Read the fine print carefully! The cheese burger is not a cheeseburger as usual, but a fried cheese (sic!) in a bun. Creepy. And I found the fried dumplings to be pretty tasteless. I didn't like it and returned it completely. I paid for it anyway because the waitress said it was on the menu. Unfortunately she is right. As a host, I would react somehow if a meal was returned. Oh well. The elderberry beer was delicious though.

I'm sorry for complainers, but I haven't experienced anything negative at Wenzel yet. Whether in Chemnitz, Dresden, Leipzig or Zwickau. So far everything has always gone well and when there was a small thing, the response was always polite and accommodating within the appropriate framework. If hospitality always worked like this...keep it up!!!💯

A very quaint restaurant with local, hearty food and a large selection of beer. As a result, we were the only ones as a group of girls😊 We really enjoyed it. There was a large selection of food and drinks, something for everyone. We'd love to come back!

Too bad. Very nice attentive service, unfortunately the food didn't convince us. The beef goulash tasted good but there were only 5 tiny pieces of meat, very cheeky considering the price. The cream beef roast was tasteless. Disappointing given the price level.

Reservation via the website worked perfectly. Food very good and plentiful, beer... what can you say about that... delicious, delicious... waiter very friendly, the rest falls into place. (00 neat and clean.)

The food was delicious and reasonably priced and the atmosphere was also very nice. There was a small problem with the service. Our waitress was very friendly, but forgot to send our food to the kitchen, which meant we had to wait a long time and received our food at different times. But I think that this is not a normal case but was simply an unfortunate mistake.

Waited forever to order and waited forever to order. Also waited forever to pay. BUT there was something free for the long wait. Great.

The food was great, price/performance is absolutely acceptable. However, the service wasn't particularly helpful on our last visit. The three of us came with an 11-year-old child and, since there was no reservation, we were seated at the bar counter. When I asked if there was still room at a table, the answer was: Everything is reserved! However, about 10 minutes later, a family who was allowed to sit at one of the reserved tables came and was told to be ready by a certain time. We could have easily managed this time and we would have liked to have had this offer too, because dinner is not much fun with a fidgety 11 year old on a bar stool.

We had a very nice evening here, the restaurant was well attended. The waitress was very friendly and the food was simply delicious. There are also gluten-free dishes that can be varied according to your own wishes. That was also the reason why we went to have a look here. The only small drawback was the spray we had right next to the higher tables. Since they are very close together, I had the person behind me on the chair several times and even so I didn't like having someone half above me. Despite everything, due to the very nice service and the food, we won't eat here for the last time.👍

We had ordered a table for 8 people. We were taken there straight away and that was it for the service. Drinks only came after a quarter of an hour and the starters (bread with garlic paste) took another 20 minutes, not to mention the main course. Other guests who came after us and therefore ordered later than us had their meals a whopping 20 minutes earlier than us. I personally had the knuckle which was served with a roast pork sauce. It doesn't work at all. We will definitely not visit this place again.

Prices are significantly more expensive, but quality was good. Ambience also nice and service good.

Very tasty food, large portions at fair prices. The service was nice and you can study the menu in peace, the rest of the food was offered to take away. Pleasant, unobtrusive music, well-kept shop. Nice view of the theater. Apparently there were a lot of local guests, very pleasant.

Ordered for four people at 4 p.m. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. There wasn't much activity at this time. Unfortunately we had to wait a full 20 minutes before anyone showed up to take the order. The food came after another 30 minutes. We had a large and a small knuckle, smoked pork and the salmon fillet on oven-roasted vegetables. In the case of the latter, there could have been a few more vegetables on the plate for the price. Everyone enjoyed it very much. We also liked the atmosphere in “Wenzel”. Conclusion: Food recommended, but the wait of almost an hour before eating was simply too long.

I think the price transparency is absolutely great! The map also gets better every time. There are now also some vegetarian dishes. Just keep it up!

Full. Loud. Canteen. Fast. Exactly what you would expect from a place like this. Not great, but okay.

Wir wollten gestern vor einem Konzert schnell noch einen kleinen Imbiss nehmen und ein Bierchen trinken. Wir lieben die tschechische Küche und wollten einen Zwischenstop beim Wenzel einlegen. Leider wurden wir sehr unwirsch am Restauranteingang abgewiesen. Die Dame am Einlass murmelte, dass es keine Kapazitäten gäbe, drehte sich postwendend ab und wünschte uns einen weiteren guten Tag. Das war äußerst skuril. Mimik und Gestik ließen erahnen, dass wir nicht erwünscht waren. Wir sind anderorts häufige Besucher des Wenzels und sind immer sehr zufrieden. Nur dieser unmögliche abweisende Empfang läßt einen schlimmen Beigeschmack. Zumindest der Dresdner Wenzel in der Poststraße ist für uns Geschichte. Wenn es keine Plätze gibt, dann ist das so aber als Kunde darf man sich auch dann durchaus Freundlichkeit erwarten.

One of the tastiest restaurants I've visited so far. The Wiener Schnitzel is a dream and the dumpling fries are a blast, even in sweet form. Be careful, risk of addiction 😃

We waited over an hour for the food and had to ask several times. The taste was good.

Dinner at the end of August, table assigned after reservation. A bit cramped to neighboring tables in general and particularly cramped with a walker. The service did a job. Drinks served quickly, food delayed accordingly (beef goulash with dumplings, red cabbage or sauerkraut can be ordered at a high price!!) Food was very tasty. Beer tasting (I found 3 small ones delicious).. Toilet on the 1st floor? We did not ask whether there is a solution for guests with walking difficulties. It was something different... maybe again. We were there for lunch. There was a good deal for good prices. The portions were very large and it was tasty too. Conclusion - price and performance are right. We'd love to come back.

Sehr gute Speisen und Getränke, auch typisch böhmsche Küche und Bier. Der Service ist sehr gut und nett. Die Einrichtung ist sehr gemütlich und ansprechend.

Food and service were ok, service could be more attentive. Ambience is a matter of taste, as it is only a large room. I personally didn't like it, but there is another Wenzels in Dresden. 😉

Great restaurant, I think it's better than Wenzel in the Neustadt. Nice and professional service, food and drinks taste good and the atmosphere is just great. We'll definitely be back!

Actually we just wanted to have dinner. It took a quarter of an hour just to place the order. After some time we had our drinks. After three quarters of an hour had passed, we asked for our order (starter). We were informed that it would take a little longer today. Time passed. Then we wanted the bill and suddenly the starter was on the table. The dinner was not according to our expectations. Too bad. Personally we don't recommend this restaurant.

We were there the day before yesterday and unfortunately totally disappointed. Kasslernacken with sauerkraut and "supposedly" homemade dumplings. There was nothing homemade about the dumplings. They tasted very, very bad, dry and industrial. It was finished. It's a shame actually.

All tables inside reserved. Four people sit outside, the rest of the tables are reserved. No service to be seen. Who makes money like that??? How does it work.

Great atmosphere and good service staff

Delicious food, good location and nice staff The location is really good, close to the Zwinger/Semperoper/MotelOne. The terrace in front Business is a good idea after eating Beer or Co. Watching the hustle and bustle and strolling around. Price/performance fits. The food is delicious and the portions are sufficient. Therefore a clear recommendation.

I worked there and was incredibly disappointed. Tips and holiday pay entitlements have NOT been paid.
