Food was great. But the waiter was arrogant and unfriendly... if he doesn't like the guests' jokes, he should just ignore it or look for a new job. We praised the kitchen and received a stupid and stroppy response. Such stupid people should stay at home!!! Information to management will follow.

The atmosphere is nice and stylishly furnished. The service was fine. The initial contact to order drinks could have been a little quicker. The food was okay, but nothing special. However, the double espresso in a disposable glass was a no-go for me. Sorry.

The cheeseburger was just perfect! We really liked everything – both the food and the service. The atmosphere was also pleasant. We'll definitely be back!

I really liked the food but the waiter who served us had a terrible attitude super hateful made bad faces really unpleasant with this man's attitude I think he had xenophobia. I don't recommend the place, the way he looked at us and the way he treated us was very unpleasant.

Yesterday, February 3, 2025, I reserved a table for 15 people in this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately the experience with the service was very disappointing. From the beginning the behavior of the staff was poor. A few hours before the reservation I was called and told that I wasn't allowed to bring my birthday cake, even though I had previously been confirmed that it was possible if I paid 20 euros. This poor organization was already annoying, but it got worse. When we arrived at the restaurant, my guests and I were greeted unfriendly. The staff seemed stressed and listless. We were never demanding or rude, but we were still treated with little patience and kindness. We were also forbidden from taking photos in an area that we found particularly beautiful - which didn't make sense since it was a special celebration. Despite everything I have to say the food was outstanding - 10/10 for the chef who really did a great job. Unfortunately the experience was marred by poor service. A restaurant should not only be known for its food, but also for its service and hospitality - and unfortunately that's what was lacking here.

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience in this restaurant and will never come back. We came to celebrate the birthday of a friend and arrived when she was getting ready to take some Photos, which the person in charge of the Service didn't allow or gave an alternative. From there on, he started getting people's orders in a very bad mood. We were most of us newly arrived foreigners and the Makamaka team knew it since the reservation time. This man would ask in a very unintelligible German for the orders and when people didn't understand him, he didn't even made the effort to find a translator or find a solution to the language barrier. We all felt very mistreated and were wondering whether our origin has anything to do with his behavior? The food was tasty but it wasn't representative of the money we paid for it. This is my personal opinion. They charge gourmet prices to ok tasting food because of the location in which you can't take pictures if you are celebrating. I don't recommend this place. Especially if you are foreigners.

The food was delicious, with good taste and nice presentation, but the service was terrible. Yesterday we celebrated a friend's birthday and from the start the waiter was arrogant and unfriendly which made the experience very unpleasant. We also weren't allowed to take many photos, which was unnecessary and disruptive for a special occasion. Good service is just as important as the food, and in this case it left a lot to be desired. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

How sad that you want to celebrate your birthday and the bad service ruins your happiness. I will not come again.

Very tasty shakes (Oreo, apple, rainbow) and the starters were also very tasty.

Food great, ambience okay. Unfortunately, the waiter was very cheeky - no starter before the drinks, and when we wanted to try our way through the cocktails, we were already pointed out to the next guest. It's a shame, that spoiled the evening a bit.

The visit took place with an online reservation. The table was prepared including a baby chair. When ordering we asked for a non-alcoholic cocktail (it wasn't on the menu), unfortunately we were told very clearly that there were no non-alcoholic cocktails and that we could still have a homemade lemonade. After receiving the delicious lemonades, I found it a shame that no quantity was given on the card. Despite the elaborate decoration, there was simply too little content for 0.35 l at the price shown. With a little more content the price would be better. The food was OK.

Arrived there spontaneously without registering, was served quickly and enjoyed an incredibly delicious burger. I didn't think the beer selection was that good and the chairs were very crowded, but that ruined the ENTIRE experience. Cool shop and clear recommendation because the food was incredibly tasty.

We made a reservation at very short notice and luckily got a table. Despite the large space, it was quite quiet and we were able to chat in a relaxed manner and had enough space for ourselves. The food was super tasty and the service was very friendly. We'd love to come back!

Really really good in the price range. The service was courteous, friendly, unobtrusive, and made small additional offers. "Maybe another coffee or wine?" We felt very well served. The food was excellent, tasty, nutritious and the portions were generous. When reserving a table, I asked for a place that was as quiet as possible and that's what I got.

Not the best burger I've ever had but close. When we visited Dresden, we followed a recommendation, yes it was Mr. Raue 😉, and reserved a table. However, we had to rebook this for personal reasons. There was probably a technical problem because the new date was not confirmed. Nevertheless, we received a very warm welcome and only had 1.5 hours instead of the usual 2 hours, but that suited us. Service was friendly and accommodating. Food was good. The burger I ordered is one of my favorites but doesn't end up at the top. I've had 1 or 2 better ones. I thought the homemade lemonades were great and the dessert wasn't bad either. Price/performance is also quite ok. Basically a successful evening. We would be happy to come back here on our next visit to Dresden

Update: Been here again after years. Best burger I've ever had. Big praise for the food and service. — Great restaurant, nicely hidden in the back yard. Everything is very chic, especially in winter. The burger restaurant itself is young and fresh, not hipster shit, but modern and cleverly prepared. The food was really very good, the quality and quantity of the burgers was impeccable.

One of the best burgers I've ever eaten! Really! A patty with beef flavor and juicy. Not a simple off-the-rack bun! Loose and supportive enough to hold the burger together. Great sauces. The store as a whole has a great atmosphere and the service is also good. If you like high-quality burgers in a relaxed and well-kept atmosphere, this is the place for you. Full marks from me.

Great grill house in the heart of Neustadt. Delicious burgers, good selection of drinks and great service. The cake shakes are also absolutely amazing, very tasty and real eye-catchers! A reservation is strongly recommended. At peak times you only have a table for a maximum of 2 hours, but that's okay as the kitchen works very quickly.

Das Lokal ist zwar etwas laut wenn voll ist, aber es ist trotzdem sehr gemütlich, sauber und schön dekoriert. Der Service ist flink, freundlich und aufgeschlossen. Der Winter Daiquiri war ein Traum. Auch die Weine mit lustigen und ausgefallenen Namen wurden sehr gelobt. Beim Essen waren wir uns Alle einig!!! Die Vorspeisen, Burger, Fries, Ribs, Saucen …und … und…..und waren ein Gedicht! Food ok. Nothing special by default. However, the time limit bothered me. We made a special reservation - a table for two during the evening during the week. I wasn't informed of this when I made the reservation - but I was informed of it on site. 2 hours to eat and drink. We were constantly reminded of that. Unfortunately not a pleasant evening.

You can't do anything better. Best burgers we have eaten. Ambience, taste, portion size, friendliness of the staff was top. The buns taste special and are super fresh. Price-performance appropriate.

Nice shop in a quiet location for the new town. The food is very good. We had various burgers, both beef and chicken and desserts. Everything was highly recommended. The dishes are well thought out and special. A clear recommendation for me.

I have been here twice. I can't complain about the food, but the service is simply dry, cold and unfriendly. The guy who served us for my birthday is very arrogant. He approaches the table and doesn't ask if we're ready, he just watches us wait. Unfortunately, this attitude also takes away stars from the atmosphere.

Unfortunately very rude. In the restaurant it was said that only the 2 tables by the window would be served. When a table became available, the waitress came and said that I had misunderstood and we wouldn't be served. Since I've eaten there before, I can rate the food. Right at the start, the team served me the “Taco Yucatan Love” on the table – and what can I say? One bite and I was in Mexico! It was as if Danny Trejo himself had jumped off a movie set to whisper the perfect taco recipe in my ear. With every bite I felt like I was under the hot Central American sun, surrounded by mariachi music and the smell of freshly grilled flour tortillas. I wouldn't have been surprised if a sombrero had suddenly appeared on my head. But we continued with the “Holy Shit” burger – and yes, the name says it all! This masterpiece combines juicy meat grilled to perfection, a fluffy bun so light it was probably made by a cloud pastry chef, and a sauce that would make even the devil himself sweat. A trigger warning should actually have been taken seriously: the halo disappeared faster than I could say “jalapeños.” A kick of spiciness that felt like Satan himself had his fiery hands involved. Tears? Yes, but not out of emotion. This was the kind of heat that makes you doubt your existence - and yet? Every bite was a poem. The conclusion? Absolute risk of repetition! The “makamaka” is the perfect place for those who want to take their taste buds on a trip around the world without having to get on a plane. The mix of international influences, creative combinations and a touch of madness makes this burger joint a must-visit for every foodie and brave soul. So, take a heart, a stomach and a drink of milk - you'll need it!

What can I say... Simply very tasty burgers & fries, exactly how you want them. The burger patties are perfectly medium and the fries are perfectly cooked. I had the Camdon Town Burger, a real cheddar cheese dream on top, super delicious.

The food came quickly and was very fresh, the burger bun was super soft and the meat was perfectly fried. For me by far the best burger (Camden Town) I have ever eaten! After reading a lot of positive reviews so far and some friends raving about the makamaka, I wanted to go there too. The ambience itself is really nice, as if you were in a small beach bar in Malibu. We found the waiter to be a rather humorous personality. But he himself thought his appearance was super cool. I don't want to know how he behaves towards his colleagues. The burgers taste good, but unfortunately they're nothing special. So I wouldn't have to go there again...

My friend and I were there two years ago and took a detour to eat there again with our parents. Everything tastes delicious and the waiters are super accommodating. They make everything themselves and a great recommendation from us is to try the Chicken Supreme with Parmesan garlic cream. It's awesome. Since the store is usually full, you have to reserve in advance.

Very cool atmosphere, very good service, and damn good food 👍🏻 We had to wait 40 minutes for our food but it was really worth it. Everything is fresh and super tasty here and we cook it ourselves 👍🏻 Both the Makamaka XL Ribs and the Camden Town Citizen and the Steak Fries as starters were super tasty. The waitresses were super nice and you immediately felt at home. We will definitely come back here on our next visit to Dresden. Please remember to reserve in advance!!! Can't say anything about the food, but they just didn't feel like having customers. We arrived at 5:30 p.m., spontaneously wanted something to eat and there wasn't much going on. It was then claimed that the food would take over an hour to arrive and there was no table available outside (but there weren't any "reserved" signs on them and not all the tables were occupied).

Is a very nicely located restaurant, hidden in the new town so a nice location. The food was satisfactory but nothing special, neither the burger nor the “Italian Special” caught our attention. The drinks, on the other hand, were great. The service was very friendly and attentive.

This is the second time I've been to the restaurant and I'm more than impressed. Everything just fits here! My absolute recommendation as a starter are the Steak Fries and as a main course (for cheese lovers) the Cheesy Overdose. The restaurant has more than earned the name Mastlokal! Ⓜ️

Best burgers we ever ate so far. Had the Camden Town, nicely presented, absolutely delicious!!! And the Crazy Goat for me (I always go for the goat cheese burgers), and it was perfect for my taste. Goat cheese, bacon, cranberry jam. Boy, oh boy! I tried their elderberry cucumber dill lime lemonade (🤷‍♀️), also very good, I recommend. The place is nicely decorated, and wasnt full, although all the tables had a Reserved sign on them, we were seated right away. The theme is surf and it makes you feel like its summer and you’re at the beach. The staff was nice and very prompt, everything was clean. We will definitely come back, perhaps even tomorrow, as we has our eye on other dishes, too 🙈.

The restaurant is in a great location, beautifully located in the backyard. If the weather is good you can also sit outside. The prices are rather high, but since the quality of the food is also very high and tasty, it's absolutely fine. The Camden Town burger is particularly recommended, with cheese sauce on top. The homemade lemonade is also always a highlight. The waiters are very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is something special, I don't come here often but I always enjoy it. The makamaka is somewhat hidden on the edge of the new town in an easily accessible “backyard”. Homemade lemonades and ice teas are offered inside and outside, as well as salads, burgers and other dishes. The starters are quite large. It is advisable to ask about the spiciness of the food. The burgers are tasty, but could use a little more salad or freshness. All burgers can also be ordered as a vegetarian version. There is still room for improvement with the fries. The online menu is not entirely up to date. Overall, recommended, but a bit expensive (but worth the money!).
