Best schnitzel! Super friendly atmosphere and incredibly friendly service 😊 it is definitely worth a visit. We'd love to come back.

It's a popular restaurant, so it's best to make a reservation even on weekdays. I think it would be good to compare fried schnitzel and grilled schnitzel. Onion soup is good when you drink it with rich cheese! The staff was very pleasant and responded quickly and smoothly.

Not sure why the high score for this establishment. We ate here about 8 years ago, it was a good location for a proper Schnitzel. Not so much now. I lived in Heidelberg for a while, knew to stay away from tourist traps, this time took the bait. If you are an American tourist, this is not a Schnitzel you will remember. More breding then meat, to that it was dry. It is very crowded and price ratio no where where it should be. Would not recommend.

Garlic schnitzel is really delicious ㅜㅜ The table is large, so if you come in groups of two or three, you have to share a table with other people.

Small, rustic restaurant with a maximum of 30 seats. Eating large portions means you're hungry. Prices absolutely ok 👌. You should be there shortly before opening. Then you will definitely get a place. Staff friendly. Absolutely recommended for tourists. Always my pleasure

Horrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs! I rarely leave bad reviews, but this place deserves it. First of all, the staff here are unbelievably rude and disrespectful. From the moment we walked in, it was like we were an inconvenience to them. No greeting, just a cold, unfriendly attitude that made the whole experience uncomfortable. When we asked simple questions they were condescending and dismissive. It’s clear they have no interest in customer service. To make matters worse, the inside of the restaurant stinks. Seriously, there’s a foul odor that hits you as soon as you walk through the door. It was unbearable, and I’m shocked they’re still in business with how disgusting the place smells. Between the horrible staff and the nasty environment, this was easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else!

Such a great shop! We even ate there twice during our 3-day stay in Heidelberg. In addition to the delicious schnitzel, the service was really top notch. Despite the full house, you remained calm and still had a relaxed saying on your lips. We'll be back! :)

Best schnitzel in Heidelberg! Small, cozy restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The selection on the menu is quite small, but everything tastes delicious and fresh. The price-performance ratio is good and the service is very friendly. If you want an authentic southern German dinner, the Schnitzelbank is the right place for you. (Only the wooden benches are sometimes a bit uncomfortable and a reservation is recommended as the restaurant is often fully booked) The savoy cabbage salad is a clear recommendation.

Absolutely amazing Schnitze and Wirsing, just like at Oma's house. The service staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was quaint and cozy. The meals were a bit pricy but the portions were huge, so definitely worth the cost. It's definitely best to make a reservation after 6 or 7 to be sure you get a spot!

After coming from Paris, where we had some excellent meals, we arrived in Heidelberg and ate dinner at Schnitzelbank. It was the best meal of our vacation, hands down. We had Wiener schnitzel in peppercorn sauce, liver dumplings, spaetzle and a salad. Mein gott but it was good! The service was amazing, very friendly and the vibe was great. 10/10 recommend. Go to Schnitzelbank when in Heidelberg. Just go. Put your phone down…and go!

Not a good Food at all. The Schnitzel was normal, just one difference was that this restaurant serves two sheets of Schnitzels. The taste was normal and services were terrible. Even asked tips. I thought they never deserved for tips. It was a bad experience.

The food is average compared to other places, nothing particularly special compared to other places, and is similar to schnitzel from other regions. The service was completely disappointing. They didn't even provide an extra blanket at the outside table because they were stingy. Won't come back again.

This way you can meet great people We had Swabians, Badensians, Bavarians and Americans sitting at the table and I can only say... The handsome boy on 14th Aug , I forget his name was extremely friendly and provided us excellent service during our meal. The meal itself was excellent and the best we had on our Europe trip. we shared the starter of snails in herbed butter For mains we had the Blue cheese Scinitzel and the Schaufele (tender pork shoulder) All the dishes were heavenly, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour. This meal is right up there in our GOAT list Do not miss this experience in Heidelberg

This is a must go-to restaurant if you want a Schnitzel. The ober knew we spoke just a few words of german so he kept is rather simple and 'slow' so we could understand everything. The food itself was just really good and we got it maybe 10min after ordering. You should come early though because there will be a queue of atleast 10 people before you.

The food was really below our expectations, the schnitzel was not very good, no seasoning, very bland, bad balance of flavor, spatzle was super dry and bland. Best schnitzel in Heidelberg after spending 2 years here. You should reserve beforehand. Very few places to sit. My favourite is the Gorgonzola cheese sause Schnitzel. They don’t have many beer options as it is a wine place. I took a red wine and it was good.

The waiters are very nice and polite. There was a large selection of schnitzel and the potatoes were crispy and tasty. There were many reserved seats on the weekend, but if you had an early dinner you could get a seat on the terrace.

The waiter here was extremely rude, we arrived at 8:30pm and there was a free table outside, he refused our group under pretext the kitchen was closing. He spoke down to us and was very dismissive. Should definitely not work in service

Seat outside in the back of the restaurant full of leftover food in the grooves of the tables. Walls full of cobwebs, dusty. Inside, uncomfortable atmosphere, dark, uneven lighting, loveless Bottled beer 0.33 = €4 Schnitzel portion of food for €20 was too small overall, we left the restaurant unsatisfied. Viennese style schnitzel tasted good, the fried potatoes were disappointing and not crispy, the creamed savoy cabbage was tasty but the portion was too small and boring. Service good but I wouldn't come back again

If you want are in Heidelberg and want to try a proper and delicious Schnitzel this is the right place to go! I had the traditional one with potatoes and Rahmwirsing that was an incredible discovery for me. Highly recommended and people that work inside are very polite and professional.

Very good food. The operators should still take care of perhaps finding another location that is larger and more modern. They would definitely make more sales because the food is really good, which I find terrible. Delicious home-style food. The schnitzel with the creamed savoy cabbage was delicious. The cheese spaetzle was also good, but could have been a little spicier for my taste. The service was friendly. We sat halfway out in the back. Due to the development it was a bit warm and stuffy. Of course that was also due to the weather. All in all, we were satisfied and can recommend it.

The Schnitzelbank is a really quaint restaurant on a side street off the main street. We were there on the first evening and ordered cordon bleu. I would say this was the best cordon bleu I've eaten in a long time. A delicious side salad and fried potatoes rounds the whole thing off. Last but not least, the super friendly conditions. We felt very comfortable. We went there again on the second evening because we were so excited. What can I say. The waitresses were still super friendly, but the cordon bleu we ordered was just standard and had nothing to do with yesterday's. What a shame! I would have liked to give it five stars!

Pretty good food. The experience of going there is as enjoyable as eating the food. If you want to get a seat outside, make reservations. Inside is dark and hot, but has the feel of an old tavern like those seen in movies. There is also a small back garden area as well. The portions are good, but if you have any leftovers you want to take with you, they only have some tin foil for you to wrap your food in.

I think this is probably one of the most well-known restaurants among Koreans in Heidelberg. When I actually visited, there were about 2-3 Korean teams. Schnitzel is an Austrian food, and the Japanese improved it into pork cutlet, which became Western-style pork cutlet in Korea. In other words, it is the original version of pork cutlet, so wouldn't it be better for modern Koreans who are accustomed to pork cutlet to be satisfied with experiencing schnitzel? In that respect, it is a great restaurant. The onion soup was meat broth, but it tasted sour and I didn't like it because I don't like acidity. I thought the schnitzel topped with brown sauce was just a Korean-style pork cutlet, but the strong taste of pepper dominated the sauce, making me realize that this was indeed a foreign country. The potato noodles that came with it had a nice buttery taste and were worth eating. The schnitzel with white sauce was a turkey schnitzel, and what I feel every time I eat turkey is that it tastes like chicken. The pasta was so-so. Salad is okay. With Sauercrast by your side, you can have new experiences.

Even though we went when it opened at 12 o'clock, it was so popular that it filled up quickly. The atmosphere was nice and I was satisfied with both the garlic schnitzel and button mushroom cream pasta. They served a salad with it and it was delicious, and the lemon soda had a refreshing taste as well. It's a place that hurts one's pride by leaving it in the middle of the street.

Wir haben lange nicht so schlecht gegessen. Spätzle aus der Tüte ohne Geschmack, Schnitzel so trocken und zäh und dann noch eine Sauce die , die Panade vom Schnitzel aufweicht. Da ich gesagt hab , das ich die Spätzle nicht essen kann, hab ich Bratkartoffeln bekommen. Die waren genauso fad , ohne Würze und gebraten wurden sie auch nicht, sie haben die Pfanne eventuell mal ganz kurz geküsst. Der Salat dazu schrecklich . Der Name Schnitzelbank ist total verkehrt, die Weinstube trifft voll zu. Die Bedienung hat aber 3 Sterne Plus, freundliche und wollte, was die Küche in Sand gesetzt hat wieder gutmachen. Zu zweit 60 Euro für sehr schlechtes Essen bezahlt. Nie wieder

Excellent traditional German fare. The place is small and can be full with reservations, but if you go at lunchtime there are often tables. We sat inside, which was actually cooler than outside on this hot summer day. If you want to try schnitzel, go to this place!

Great little restaurant in Heidelberg with a wonderful staff. Probably the best Schnitzel that we’ve had in the last 15 years living in Germany. We experienced what we believe was racist behavior at Weinstube Schnitzelbank in Heidelberg. Two of us entered first and said we wanted to eat schnitzel. The female waiter said she would help us. We then mentioned that four more people would be joining us. The male waiter suddenly said that they were out of schnitzels. They spoke to each other in German in a very strange and awkward manner. While we were speaking in English, they were not helpful at all. Does anyone have to be German to eat at this place? Why weren't we helped? Why was it not explained properly? Definitely do not come here. We experienced behavior in the Weinstube Schnitzelbank in Heidelberg that we found to be racist. Two of us went in first and said we wanted to eat schnitzel. The waitress said she would help us. Then we mentioned that four more people were coming. The waiter suddenly said that they were out of schnitzels. They spoke to each other in German in a very strange and unpleasant way. While we spoke in English they were not helpful at all. Do you have to be German to eat in this restaurant? Why weren't we helped? Why wasn't it explained to us properly? Definitely do not come here.

Called 17 times... answered 0 times. 80km of range consumed by my car. For nothing. I'll never think about setting foot in the store again. (And I wasn't even inside yet).

Garlic schnitzel, button mushroom cream pasta, and sausage dishes (the names on the menu are different) are all delicious. There are a lot of people visiting the store, so it seems like they often sit together with other visitors. Although the store staff are very busy, they always smile and are friendly.
