Wavecity Kitchen & Bar in Hamburg

The Wavecity in Hafencity impresses with a beautiful location and easy accessibility. We ordered the beef burger with fries twice. The food was delicious and the portions of fries were huge. We also particularly enjoyed the lemon squash. The service was really good. The waitress (blond, around 25) was super friendly, attentive and did everything quickly and professionally. The food was served within ten minutes, which pleasantly surprised us. An all-round successful visit. We would love to come back!!

Unfortunately my visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. The food was neither fresh nor tasty, and the portions were far too small for the price. The service also left a lot to be desired - we had to wait an extremely long time for our food and were hardly noticed. The atmosphere was uncomfortable and it was far too loud to have a pleasant conversation. I expected much more from the reviews, but this was definitely my last visit.

We were there for breakfast with the whole family. Very nice service, delicious food and nice shop. They were also child-friendly, we would love to come back, especially in the summer, to sit outside.

Never again! Lack of hygiene and inedible food! I have rarely visited such a bad store. The first thing I noticed was that the floor was sticky and the tables obviously hadn't been cleaned. The staff seemed stressed and unfriendly, but that would have been forgivable if the food had been good - spoiler: it wasn't. My burger was lukewarm, the meat tasted old, and I seriously wondered if it was even cooked properly. The fries were soggy and seemed like they had been warmed up. The absolute lowest point: I found a strand of hair in my food! When I brought this up, I was answered with an annoyed “It could happen” – no apology, nothing. The toilets were a real shock: no soap, no towels, dirt everywhere. If it looks like that, I don't want to imagine what the kitchen looks like. I really hope the health department takes a closer look at this - it just can't meet the standards. Conclusion: Absolutely not recommended, there are much better options in Hamburg. Save yourself the time, money and maybe even food poisoning.

An absolute failure – never again! I was really excited to try Wavecity Smash Burger Kitchen & Bar, but rarely have I had such a disappointing experience. Where should I start? First of all, the atmosphere: The store advertises a cool, modern atmosphere, but in reality it is loud, uncomfortable and chaotic. The furniture seems cheap and uncomfortable, the light is far too bright, and there is no trace of the promised “inviting atmosphere”. The service? Catastrophic. It took forever to even get served, even though the store was only half full. The staff was rude, annoyed and seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. Orders were mixed up and when we pointed this out we only got annoyed looks and no apologies. Now to the food, the supposed highlight: The burgers were a disgrace. Thrown together carelessly, the meat completely dry, almost like the sole of a shoe. The “smash” effect, which is supposed to ensure crispy edges, was not present. Instead, it was just a bland, soggy pile. The rolls were stale and falling apart, the toppings were cheap and unappetizing. The lettuce was wilted, the tomatoes tasteless, and the “secret sauce” tasted like nothing. To make matters worse, the store was dirty. Sticky tables, dirty floors and a general unkempt appearance ultimately ruined the experience. For the prices charged here, I would have expected at least a minimum level of quality. Instead, I feel like I've thrown my money out the window. There are a lot of good burger joints out there - this isn't one of them. Conclusion: Absolutely not recommended. Bad service, terrible food and overpriced. Save yourself time, money and stress and go somewhere else.

The location of this hotel is really great, right by the river, with great scenery. Especially when the weather is good, the sun can shine directly in, making the whole person feel warm. The waiters are also super enthusiastic, smiling and welcoming, making people feel very comfortable. As for the food, the food here tastes really good and has a somewhat international style. I think most people can find something they like to eat when they come here. Whether you are bringing family or friends, this is a great place.

A great little restaurant with a clear menu and very tasty food. The rooms are cozy and the team is delicious. You can watch the kitchen team cooking if you want. We'll definitely be back!

A young venue in the heart of Speicherstadt a few steps from the Maritim Museum. The kindness of the staff welcomes you for a lunch break or a coffee.

The food was delicious, service was great... but the open kitchen means you can take the smell of the food home with you ;-)

Was here today as part of a culinary tour. We sat nicely on the terrace with a view of the water. Young blonde waitress was very friendly. Flambée tastes very good.

Casual and cosy place with great hamburgers (we only had hamburgers), good choice and friendly and helpful staff. The Texas smash burger menu is huge, which the staff helpfully mentioned so we did not order too much for kids. The homemade lemonade was delicious. Great relaxed place for kids. We ate here at off-peak time, otherwise reserving a table is a good idea.

The food was very good, the place was very nice too. What takes away points is that they put just one person to attend to everything, because she can forget what is asked of her and working alone she cannot be attentive to all the people. Even so, she was very loving.

Had a great meal with an incredibly friendly and attentive waitress (and cook?). The burger and the sweet potato fries were very tasty! We only found the drink prices to be a bit high, considering that there was only the 0.2L option.

Incredible service, I was chased by a vasp, tho it looked funny one of the waiters came and lighted a small smoke of coffee to chase it away, you don’t experience that kind of service many places. The food was excellent, I highly recommend making a visit there 👌

Wir hatten uns kurzfristig für ein Frühstück im Wavecity entschieden. Das Personal wirkte unbeholfen, die Frühstücksspeisen waren mittelmäßig. Man versucht mit der Einrichtung ein California Beach Feeling zu vermitteln…. Muss man nicht unbedingt nochmal haben….

Stopped in spontaneously for dinner. Chicken skewers, wings and Texas burger menu. The sauces were great, as were the wedges. The burger was okayish. The salad was too bitter for my taste, but I was already full anyway. Modern concept, great location.

The burgers were well cooked, tasty and filling. When it comes to sauces, I have to emphasize the umami in a very positive way. However, I have to point out negatively that the ordering system initially refused to open due to network problems and then did not want to transmit the order - only then was I able to order directly from the waitress. An old-fashioned fallback option on paper or on a board that can be ordered without technical hiccups could be considered.

Absolute run-of-the-mill burgers and wedges. Burger was lukewarm at best, wedges tasted bland, texture was poor. Price performance is definitely not okay. For the view in summer you can probably stop by for a drink but that's it.

We came here because my husband wanted to try the smashed burgers. Lt. According to him, the burger was very good, but the taste was indistinguishable from burgers as we know them. I was also very happy with my burger. The location is very nice, we sat right by the water in the sunshine. The service was super nice, friendly and very funny. One point of criticism for me: you only get a menu if you are able to scan a QR code. Personally, I still find it takes some getting used to.

We really liked it here, the serving staff made us feel very at home, it's a lovely place to sit by the canal and the food is good. The sashimi and the burgers are both good. The salad is nice and crispy with lots of delicious sauce.

The food is good but the restaurant has a fixed tip rate in their app whenever you order, even for takeout!? This is not acceptable as a tip is optional!

Lives up to its good reviews - nice service, absolutely great food, reasonable price. The ambience outside by the water is super beautiful! The toilets could be cleaner, that's a suggestion for improvement.

We spent our company summer party here with the super delicious surfer menu (salad, tarte flambée, burgers - also vegan/vegetarian options) and a great drinks package. The service team did their best to look after us, a colorful, noisy bunch, until midnight. We were even given access to the loudspeaker system and dance floor outside until a certain time and then even inside until the end! It was a really successful and wonderful summer evening there. Big praise and love goes out ❤️

So I find it strange when an electronic menu includes a tip when you order. I would like to decide that myself and also the amount of the tip. We then ordered normally through a nice waiter and were very satisfied. When I had to go to the men's toilet, I was already full. I was greeted by a foul smell of urine that I have rarely experienced and it was difficult for me to breathe. If you have water-free urinals, then take care of it and pour water in every now and then to flush. For that reason alone I won't be showing up here again. But the location is great and everyone here is very nice.

We came an extra 900 km from Austria to eat here and it was worth every km 😍. No joke, but if you are near Hamburg you simply have to try this place.

Real Hamburg atmosphere. Right on the water or canal. What shouldn't be missed, of course, are the beautiful seagull songs (very loud and sounds like they're laughing at each other :) ). If you like it quiet, you better sit down. The service was very nice, but the payment didn't work once, so we had to pay in cash. I didn't fully understand your ordering app, we always ordered directly. The burgers were super tasty!!!

Great location, especially when the weather is good. Nicely furnished. Ordering via barcode and website is not for everyone, but it works well. Quite expensive, but that's probably the price for the view.

The restaurant has QR code to order, but the system itself is not functioning. I finished the order and then said the order is getting prepared, and the waitress came to me, I said I ordered online, she didn’t check and just left. I waited for 25 minutes, then I asked again why my drink is still not here, then they spent 5 mins figured out the order was not sent to their system. Then they reordered for me, after 15 mins the food came before the drink. There are two issues: 1. The system is not complete enough, it was designed to save time, but then it cost more time for us 2. The service organization is lack of training, after the waitress confirmation we have ordered online, she could have double checked if it was received by her, which she didn’t. And the system automatically adds up tips, 10/15% without noticing. Really messy management. But the food itself is not bad. People are also nice to certain.

The Pinsa (Parma) is excellent, very tasty sourdough base, good and high-quality toppings. It's absolutely filling and there's nothing wrong with it. Addendum: Unfortunately, the menu was cut down so much that only what you get everywhere was left: burgers and bowls. No more pinsa, pizza, pasta. That's really a shame and no longer an incentive to visit.

The Beyond Meat Burger was sold out. Unfortunately there is no burger alternative for vegetarians. Ordering via the app didn't work either.

It was our first time in the location and we were immediately greeted by friendly young waitresses. After a short introduction to the digital menu. The drinks and the food, we ordered tarte flambée, a salad and a beef burger that could be topped with other additional side dishes very quickly. The food was always freshly prepared and arrived warm and, above all, at the same time. The burger was absolutely delicious and very juicy, I also had avocados and mushrooms with me. There was also a small, delicious salad on a slate board. We can only recommend the restaurant and we would be happy to come back next time we visit the Speicherstadt.
