Wang-Su Lübeck in Lübeck

So far we have come here about twice a year at irregular intervals, sometimes with family celebrations. The result was not always perfect, but satisfactory. Our last visit at Christmas was so unprofessional and catastrophic that we had to deduct 4 from the 5 stars we had already given. As soon as we had the food on the table, the preparations for a party began next door, about 15 minutes. Ambiance is already 0. Then the food wasn't even lukewarm, sometimes even icy cold. When spoken to twice about this, the head was nodded politely and smiled. HELLO! - that's outrageous. The shrimp were also dry and the rice was mushy. The assigned space was also drafty, even because of the crowds of people rushing past. My eyes were really burning. Only the dessert wasn't bad - to justify the one star. Finally, the Jägermeister ordered took a long time, to be precise, until after the bill. So we will treat ourselves to something better soon for 35 euros per nose!

Were on December 31st. here to eat AllYouCanEat with the family. The ambience is really amazing and the service is very attentive and quick. Because it was New Year's Eve, there was of course a lot going on at the buffet, which made it difficult to prepare your plate. But with a little patience everything worked out. Everyone was full and very satisfied. The food was always freshly prepared and the food to be fried was brought to the table very quickly.

We were there today, December 30th. 24 at 12.30-2.30 p.m. there were table 2, we had the buffet the first time I was there, the food was great but today, like the duck, it was very dry, very dark and dried out. But otherwise it was quite okay but it could have been better like the experience from the first visit and now the waitress she wasn't exactly polite, she made a face and when you ordered something from her she forgot it after half an hour We went to the waitress and ordered again and after 15 minutes the Cola we had been waiting for and the Fanta were finally at their place next to us but it came. No apology from her she was like MUTE AND JUST PUT IT THERE AND LEFT. We then paid and left. We are also happy to give a tip, but of course there is no tip at all for something like this.

Food is simply delicious! It's not for nothing that this restaurant is so busy. But the service was also very friendly and attentive, even considering the number of guests. There are only deductions in the atmosphere. It's a former discount store that has been converted into an open-plan restaurant.

Became expensive. Ambience needs some renovation

We've been there many times for buffet meals, but this time we ordered take-away from the menu. And what can I say: an absolute failure! First of all: The staff is always friendly and helpful, but this time there was a problem with placing the order over the phone. Some things were misunderstood and there were side dishes that we didn't order. In the end we ended up with a bill of over €140, we were shocked. However, the food was ready for pick up quickly. Unfortunately, the food was absolutely not recommended, no comparison with the buffet food. The noodles are now simple tagliatelle, for whatever reason. In addition, the food was floating in a mixture of fat and water, which is how it tasted! There were hardly any vegetables in the noodles. The worst thing for me, however, was that there were small pieces of meat in my tofu dish! The pan probably wasn't cleaned beforehand or it fell in there. No matter what, it's an absolute no-go! I was really very disappointed with the food, especially at such a high price. I expected more. The buffet is a little better, but you can hardly afford it anymore in terms of price. It's still possible at lunchtime; but in the afternoon/evening the prices are already crazy. Drinks in particular cost an outrageous amount. All in all, Wang Su is not what it used to be. I used to enjoy being here, but now in the future I will choose the competition or the Chinese restaurant on Brandenbaumer Landstrasse, where I can get more quality for less money. What a shame!

The food was tasty, although the selection was very limited, everything your heart desired was there. You can tell that everything has become more expensive, the price is kept fairly stable due to the reduced selection. The quality is still good. The staff is on point as always.

We have been coming here for many years. But we won't go there after Friday. Went there with 4 people and then all 4 were sick. We left €140 there and there was no sign of cooperation. We told the waitress that evening that it was very cold in the corner where we were seated. The only answer was the heater is broken. I find that impossible.

Sorry, but today I was very disappointed. The food was lukewarm, the prawns were fried hard and dry, and most of the meat was hard and dry despite the sauce. The chocolate fountain had skin on the chocolate at the bottom, the cream puffs were moist or still frozen. Overall, our delivery service is better, cheaper and fresher. The price per person is really exaggerated. We won't be coming back any time soon.

We recently went to the buffet in your restaurant and would like to give you some feedback, which unfortunately is not positive. The Alster I ordered had an unpleasantly stale taste. At the buffet, we first chose the option of putting food on the plate, which the chef would then prepare. Unfortunately, the meat was not sufficiently cooked, which is a health concern, especially with poultry. We then tried various dishes directly from the buffet, but they were also not convincing in terms of taste. The “crispy duck” as the sign stated was chewy and soft. The “8 treasures” were very bland in taste, and the beef with onions was difficult to enjoy as it was consistently tough and gristly. Even the shrimp chips we usually eat had a strange cinnamon aftertaste. Another problem emerged in the sanitary area. I noticed the wet ground in the quiet little place. After I told a waitress about this, I was told that the problem with an overflowing urinal was already known and had been going on for a long time. Unfortunately, our overall visit was disappointing, both in terms of the food and the condition of the facility. We would like to give you this feedback in the hope that it can help improve. As someone who has been visiting this restaurant for three years, I can say that the value for money is no longer what it used to be. Something has changed - either the chef or the austerity policy applied.

The food at the Mongolian grill was so incredible that that's the only way I can describe it. You take meat from the refrigerated displays that looks very tasty and delicious, put it on the grill and get something back that looks like something that has been pulled through too much oil must describe what is actually inedible. I then tried something small with the ready-made dishes, where the grill repeated itself in a similar form. The dessert was okay, although I had to give the chocolate and vanilla pudding back after a spoonful because it didn't taste good. But in defense of the restaurant I would like to say that preparing pudding is a fine art. All in all, NEVER AGAIN I am aware that my negative review is not necessarily nice to read, but we were lured here by the extremely wrong review and would like to spare others.

Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is no longer right. I find it very unfortunate. No more choices for the grill.

Food is absolutely fine. We went there for a buffet meal. There is actually something for everyone. But of course it is a food hall, so not for a cozy romantic evening. When you have brought something to fry, the service robot brings it to the table.

Great and wide selection of very good quality products. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We and our children really enjoyed it.

Nice service, unfortunately she didn't understand a word. For the second time today (10/24/11:30 a.m.), the food was completely cold, the rice and sauce were hot, otherwise it would have been inedible. Lunch at 17.90 euros is too expensive for lukewarm. The ambience is really starting to wear out, the fish pond is run down and you don't want to sit next to it. Too bad.

A rich and varied buffet. Delicious for years and of high quality for an “all you can eat”. Definitely the best Asian restaurant in Lübeck and the surrounding area.

We really enjoy eating there. There is a rich buffet, the sushi is great and the fact that you can choose what you want and it is freshly prepared is also a great treat. You have to be a bit lucky with the staff, but most of them are friendly.

Unfortunately no longer our favorite. The prices are now crazy prices. The selection is large, but often cold. Lunch is no longer on a budget.

Food was great, ambience was ok, the waiter asked us for drinks, so we ordered cola. The cola was served in a 0.4 glass, which I thought was outrageous.

Very nice restaurant, large and pleasant background noise. Restaurant super clean, toilets and washroom flop dirty. The quality of the food on offer is rather below average, you can see the attempts to save money. Like the other two Chinese/Mongolian buffets in Lübeck, it has declined significantly. The average price including drinks of 35 euros per person is ok. Nice experience for kids because of the chicken nuggets & fries offered and the surrounding fish tank. For acceptable Chinese cuisine, it's better to go to a simple Chinese man.

Buffet food is good as always. Dessert however weak. Ice cream is already very soft. Service staff are friendly, but sometimes invisible when you want to reorder drinks. Unfortunately the atmosphere was very loud and restless.

We have been guests for many years, but we have noticed for years that things are getting “worse”. Today we were there for a birthday dinner and it really wasn't good.. the waitress was in a bad mood and hardly ever cleared anything away.. the food was very dry or... completely riddled with gristle/fat then she said we shouldn't fill up so much if we left everything lying around then said that it was totally greasy or tasted different and then she walked away offended...the selection was also better or nothing had been refilled for a very long time and there wasn't much going on, which was a shame.. the chocolate fountain was on and there were no bananas, also very unusual, but the chocolate also tasted watery/bitter. In the end, we paid €280 (8 adults, 3 children), which really hurt your wallet (for such bad food).. I think we'll look for another restaurant now.. Toilets were also very unclean today (yes, those are the guests) but still thought it was worth mentioning..

In terms of ambience, it is more like a supermarket, it is very loud and therefore seems a bit uncomfortable - but that puts the furnishings in a good light. It is well maintained and clean, as are the toilets. The buffet offers something for everyone and is constantly being replenished, so we haven't really noticed any gaps so far. When it's full it sometimes takes a while to get drinks, but if you look you'll find them. All in all, we always enjoy coming here.

Today we had dinner at Wang-Su with 4 people. We chose the experience buffet. We were greeted by a friendly man who quickly took us to our reserved table. The drink order was taken quickly and prepared quickly. The food was delicious and there is something for everyone. From sushi, to main courses, to various desserts and fruit. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try any of them because the drink I ordered (Zombie) was so extremely sour that my tongue felt very furry and I felt sick. It really gave me a stomach ache. I only sipped the drink three times and then had to “get rid of” it. My husband also tried a sip and agreed that this is not how a Zombie (cocktail) should taste. We pointed out to the waiter that there was something wrong with the drink and that one of the juices might be spoiled. The waiter then tried to tell me that the drink was particularly strong and contained a lot of alcohol and that it was making me feel sick. Furthermore, he couldn't do anything about the mixing ratio because the cocktail came from a can. Then he replied bluntly that I could have said that earlier, before I drank half the drink. I sipped the straw three times and then put it aside oO I didn't feel like I was being taken seriously. Above all, I have been able to drink a few cocktails in my life and know what something like that should taste like. The fact that the cocktail comes from a can doesn't make it any better... Either it was spoiled or the mixture is just terrible. The waiter then took the cocktail off the bill. What bothered me about the situation was: -The waiter tried to downplay my condition -The waiter reacted rudely, but we didn't attack him personally and explained to him in a friendly manner what the problem was (mistakes happen and we didn't blame him) -When he was collecting the money, he threw the receipt in my husband's face and got angry We don't understand what we did wrong. We wanted to spend a nice evening with our children, eat something delicious and have fun. And it was great until the stomach pain started. But instead of sympathy and understanding for the situation, we were simply treated badly. We didn't want anything for free. I would have liked to have ordered a water instead... Instead the waiter simply brought the bill and treated us disrespectfully... In any case, we won't be coming back again.

We've been there several times now. It has now become very expensive and unfortunately the quality has not improved accordingly. It's still good, but the price/quality ratio is no longer right. The dining hall, which is designed for mass production, does not manage to convey the high price that is charged for the good but not outstanding food.

Sehr schlechtes Essen heute. Eigentlich kommen wir gerne hier her. Das essen war trocken , die Soßen waren sehr schlecht heute. Der Nachtisch hat katastrophal geschmeckt. Alles sehr wässrig als wen es aufgetaut worden ist.

Essen war OK,dafür unsere Servicekraft unaufmerksam, unangenehm und unangemessen laut und unfreundlich: nach ca. drei Stunden wurden Wir laut aufgefordert zu zahlen und zu gehen, obwohl Restaurant nur zu einem Drittel belegt war. Dies war nicht nur unserem Gastgeber peinlich. Hinweis an Betreiber: wenn man Gäste im Hause haben möchte - wovon man eigentlich ausgehen kann - dann sollte man sich auch so verhalten.

Ate a la carte here. The dishes ordered were tasty and plentiful. We had the impression that not much emphasis was placed on a la carte guests here. Wang-Su is a large buffet restaurant and this is well received and attended. The service wasn't very good at the a la carte. It's actually a shame

We come here often and have never had any reason to complain. However, what we had to experience today means that we won't be coming back for the time being. It's Sunday evening and the restaurant is regularly open until 11 p.m. (buffet until 9:45 p.m.). We arrived at around half past eight. We were informed that the buffet would only last for about an hour, which was ok for us. We were told that we were the only guests and that the buffet would therefore only be refilled as needed. This is also completely legitimate as anything else would be food waste. After we had eaten, we immediately had the feeling that we had ruined everyone's evening. Behind us, a waiter was shouting loudly on the phone in Chinese. Entire cleaning crews start moving. Tables were disinfected, floors were mopped, dishes were noisily put away, disinfectant spray was used, and even the walls were scrubbed. The kitchen staff watched us annoyed from the kitchen door while the other staff cleaned the counter and watched us eat. There was no cozy atmosphere at all. As soon as we got some ice cream, the containers were put away. We literally devoured our food within 20 minutes to escape this unpleasant atmosphere. Since we had paid in advance because it was not clear whether the EC payment would work, we got up and left after a total of 35 minutes. For the first time in my life I didn't tip. It's not our fault if there are no other guests. We paid full price to feel unwelcome and stressed. This is extremely unprofessional! Then we could have been told straight away that it wasn't worth it and then everyone could have finished work earlier.

My best friend and I ate from the buffet there on Friday (April 5th), on Sunday night (about 28 hours later) we both got really bad stomach bugs, with everything that goes with it. Our only common interface was the food here!! Also, the bread & shrimp chips tasted like old frying fat. The service, however, was very attentive... it wasn't the first time here, but certainly the last time.
