Top! 10/10, but I did pee all over the toilet. Mr. Wao Bao Mao Zedong was great! The food was good too! They had good sake!

We were here today at 2 pm, a group of three, wanting to have lunch. We ordered three buffet items, and what can we say? There were many empty displays, with at most only a spoonful left. When we asked if they would refill them, we were given a flat "no." Had they told us that we were apparently too late with our order, we would have left. On top of that, the food, no matter what we ordered, tasted absolutely terrible—a complete disaster. How this restaurant received a 4.2 rating is a total mystery to me.

We were there with three people for the all-you-can-eat meal. Almost everything was gone, and nobody wanted to refill it. Everything tasted awful – stale, oversalted, etc. No matter what you touched, it was simply disgusting, and to charge money for that is outrageous.

My dining experience at "Wanbao" restaurant was extremely satisfying and deserves a special recommendation. First and foremost, I must praise their Beijing soup—the aroma was incredibly enticing. Upon tasting, you immediately perceive the refreshing base of the broth, followed by a gradual unfolding of various seasonings. The balance of sourness, spiciness, and umami was perfectly harmonious, offering both a comforting, homey feel and a touch of novelty that left a lasting impression. The ingredients in the soup were also meticulously prepared: the vegetables remained crisp, the meat tender yet juicy, the thickening was just right, and the soup was rich but not greasy, leaving a lingering aftertaste. The restaurant's overall ambiance is clean and warm, with understated yet stylish decor. The seating is reasonably spaced, suitable for both family gatherings and small get-togethers with friends. The service was exceptionally attentive: the waiters were friendly, handled the ordering and serving process smoothly, and provided polite inquiries and timely tea refills, creating a reassuring dining experience. The menu was extensive, and besides the Beijing soup, the other recommended dishes were also excellent, with consistent flavors and generous portions. The ingredients appeared fresh, and the presentation was thoughtful. Overall, it offers good value for money and is suitable for customers who want to enjoy authentic flavors without going through too much trouble.

I hadn't been here for a while and was rather disappointed. If you're just looking for a place to fill your stomach, you might still find it suitable. A buffet and a large beer for €26 is okay, but somehow it didn't appeal to me anymore. The service when clearing used dishes was also quite sloppy. However, the staff themselves were consistently friendly and always approachable.

We went to the buffet at this restaurant. Twenty to thirty minutes before the official end of the buffet hours, several people arrived with containers from "Too Good To Go" and were given priority. They were able to fill their containers with food, while guests who had paid the full buffet price were left with some of the offered items. I was truly surprised – I think such promotions should only take place after the official end of the buffet, not during it. It's unfair to paying guests when the buffet is emptied prematurely. Overall, I found this practice quite outrageous, since we paid full price for the buffet and some items were unavailable and weren't replenished!

First, the positive: we were served promptly, and the empty plates were cleared quickly. Unfortunately, that was it. The food was disastrous. Not only was everything extremely greasy, but the sushi tasted like the ready-made sushi from Aldi and was also warm. Some dishes tasted stale or even spoiled (the fruit salad). The worst of all was the Peking soup. It was slimy and simply inedible. Three people developed stomach problems right there on the spot. Two more came in that evening. I do not recommend this place. The health department should urgently take a look!

The food used to be much better. Sometimes just empty containers or dried-out meat, pasta very greasy. Drinks are NOT included in the buffet price! You pay extra for everything. If you don't order drinks, you pay €2 extra! When you ask why you're paying so much, you get a rude answer like: "That's why the buffet price is cheaper now!" NO, it isn't. A real rip-off! Not again!

We've eaten there twice this year, but unfortunately, the quality has declined significantly. The ready-made meals are almost always very greasy and taste of artificial flavorings. Even the freshly cooked meat is now unseasoned and only cooked with a little soy sauce. Unfortunately, we had digestive problems afterward both times; it could have been the MSG. I saw the cakes come as ready-made goods myself.

The buffet was really good, and the selection was satisfactory. The desserts, in particular, had a wide selection. The ambiance was pleasant, and the service was very attentive.

After a long time, I was a guest at Van Bao again. The food was excellent again. From the duck soup to the main courses with various side dishes and even the dessert, everything was perfect. The service was excellent. The drinks came quickly, and empty plates were cleared away immediately. The price for the buffet during the week at lunchtime is €11.90!!! Unbeatable.

I didn't like the food. It is not fresh and expensive.

Four of us were there yesterday around 6:30 p.m. The staff didn't pay any attention to us at first. Their cell phones were more important. The food was really bad. The sushi was dry and warm, the duck had been sitting in its shell for a while and was anything but crispy as advertised. The dishes with sauces all tasted pretty much the same. That evening, two out of four people had severe stomach problems.

This used to be our number one restaurant, but the last two times the food was way too salty. The first time, we thought the chef hadn't intentionally over-salted it, but on our second visit, a few months later, it was even worse. Since then, we've ruled this place out.

They claim to have great teppanyaki service, but if you've been to Taiwan, you'll know that the taste is like the Mongolian BBQ you find at night markets in Taiwan, which is completely different from Japanese teppanyaki cuisine. There are many types of dishes, but not every one of them is amazing! The restaurant is full of Chinese style, which is very commendable. It would be even better if there is music playing~~ The conclusion is that it is just average. If you plan to eat Chinese food several times during your trip, you are welcome to try it, but if you want to make a life or death decision in one go, I think there should be better options.

We went as five friends, there are plenty of tables and additional sections inside that can accommodate large groups. The food is open buffet style and you have to order a drink first to benefit from it. The drink prices are quite normal between 3-5 euros. The pre-cooked meals in the open buffet were quite sufficient and delicious. They also have salad-bar and sushi bar. Also, if you want, the chef can fry the ingredients you choose together and bring them to your table. For example, you can try kangaroo meat! There are also dessert options and all kinds of jelly beans or chocolate fountains that small children will love. The things we especially liked were the fried duck meat and watermelon. (The watermelon was really amazing) The place is very clean, the toilets are big and the staff is attentive. The price was also quite reasonable for the service provided. Plus, in the end they give you fortune cookies. We were satisfied and recommend it! Note: It is for international friends, they do not speak English.

The buffet price included a drink. So far, so good. The buffet price is also displayed outside. But: on the menu, it says in small letters that if you don't have a drink, you have to pay €2 more. It's a disgrace. My husband can eat or drink, and therefore has to pay €2 more because he doesn't order an EXTRA drink. To be honest, I wouldn't have had a drink either. Pictures to follow. Dessert was cheap sugar bombs and when we wanted to go out, my son took a tangerine, the waitress rudely pointed out that there was nothing to take away and that you had to eat everything inside. We have been to different establishments of this type around the world, and perhaps we found the worst. 1) Very small selection of food. 2) There are only 4 types of sushi, and those that differ from each other only in color. 3) Very unfriendly staff. He reacts to any question with aggression. At this point I would give “0” to all waiters. The only kind person was the cook who cooks in front of you. 4) Outdated interior. 5) Really boring atmosphere in the building. There is no feeling of celebration. 6) The food is really low quality. Not everything was terrible. But the bulk of the dishes are prepared without soul, seasoning or proper taste. 7) When ordering, they require that you order drinks (they need to be paid separately), and if at the time of ordering you don’t want to drink, but only eat, then we were warned arrogantly, “that means you’ll pay 2 € more for not ordering something to drink." We were there in the evening, and were surprised that none of the visitors were celebrating their birthday, although in establishments of this type, almost always when I visit, I see 1-3 groups of people celebrating. There was none here. This clearly says something. I know another buffet-type establishment in Erfurt, which is 3 heads higher than this one. This visit almost ruined our evening. In contrast to many other Chinese restaurants, this restaurant is beautifully and brightly decorated and you won't be overwhelmed by the Asian ambience. You could eat buffet or a la carte, we chose the Peking goulash soup and 2 different dishes from the menu and were very satisfied. Once a chicken dish with cashew nuts and once a chicken dish from the hot cast iron plate. Both dishes were excellent both in terms of taste and quantity. The chicken was very tender, the vegetables were fresh and crunchy, and the white wine was very good. The soup was very flavorful and nice and hot. If you decide to eat from the buffet, you can also have some items freshly grilled. Conclusion: this was one of the best Chinese restaurants we have visited recently.

One evening we couldn't even enjoy our meal in peace because the waitress kept walking around our table and looking at us annoyed even though it was still a good 40 minutes before closing time. Had lunch with the girls today. We barely sat down and the staff was already there and took our drinks. There was enough food and everyone enjoyed it very much. As soon as we were in the restaurant and sat down, we were asked what drink we wanted. The buffet had something for every taste and there was also enough choice for those with a sweet tooth. Unfortunately, there are hardly any free parking spaces near the restaurant, which will hopefully change soon with the construction of the new parking garage.

Plates are cleared at the table and you can always grab a fresh one. If we are in Erfurt again, we would like to come back. On the way to the toilet you have to be careful not to be hit by the door to the ladies' room or the restaurant. Both open outwards and are right next to each other. But still full stars because everything was clean. When you arrive you get a plum schnapps and when you pay you get a fortune cookie.
