Update I thought, after 3 years, you'd come back and give the pavilion a chance. NO, absolutely not. For people who pay attention to a vegetarian or vegan diet, NO!!! Asian cuisine offers such a wide variety of that, and there's nothing here in that regard. All soups with meat and/or beef broth! Dumplings were exactly the same. There was one type of vegetable, probably meant to be the Asian version of Kaisergemüse, simply unimaginative. The taste was boring. To charge 30 euros for that, cheeky. I'd almost say brazen. They advertise it as a grill buffet. This grill buffet consists of six bowls of dry "grilled food" sitting under a heat lamp for ages. This is moderation over quality, "German" Asia instead of loving selection and variety. Why eat croquettes and fries at an Asian restaurant? I'd much rather go to the little Asian snack bar around the corner. Or you can go downtown and visit one of the many new fusion restaurants... Such a huge disappointment and such a decline in quality since it opened. You don't even need to make a reservation anymore, which is no wonder. The Pavilion used to be busy. Its heyday is long gone. The staff is scarce, the restrooms are dirty, and in front of it, there was a corner where the TV played an unpleasantly loud "children's program." What a waste of time and money. Simply a cafeteria-style mass processing!!! The ambiance is truly 5-star. BUT....The selection for vegetarians at the buffet is completely inadequate. Why beans with bacon 🤷🏽‍♀️ Vegetarians also pay full price for nothing. There's definitely room for improvement. Especially since the dietary trend is moving in this direction, and especially since Asia offers plenty of alternatives. This type of diet is also culturally widespread there. It's a shame it's not implemented here. Unfortunately, the food is far too greasy, and the flavor isn't exactly mind-blowing. It seems more like everything has been "Germanized" somehow. Why? It doesn't fit into either world. If anything, it's truly Asian. So, I don't need the buffet again.

We went to the Pavilion in the evening and tried the buffet. Both the food and drinks were really delicious and fresh. The service was fast, attentive, and very friendly, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The only small downside: When there are a lot of guests, it gets quite loud, which somewhat spoils the cozy atmosphere. Especially on weekends, you should definitely make a reservation in advance, as it's very popular and accordingly busy. Overall, though, it's absolutely recommended; we'd be happy to come back!

We ordered through TooGoodToGo and are extremely disappointed. Previously, you could always put together your own box, but today the boxes were prepared by the staff. We specifically mentioned that we don't eat a lot of meat and fish, and were assured that the boxes were vegetarian. Further questions were ignored; we were completely ignored until we left. When we got home, we discovered that the "vegetarian" contents consisted of croquettes, fish with sauce, bacon-wrapped beans, and various meats, all haphazardly thrown together and inedible for us.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. The buffet was more reminiscent of bad cafeteria food – greasy, barely seasoned, and simply not flavorful. When we left some of the food unfinished, a waitress informed us in an inappropriate tone that we might be charged for leftovers. Even though we explained that we simply didn't like the food, we were threatened with some kind of "penalty fee." This made the atmosphere very unpleasant. For over €30 per person, you expect not only better food, but also respectful treatment of guests. Instead of feeling welcome, you felt like you were constantly being watched to make sure you didn't leave anything on your plate. Hospitality looks different – ​​definitely not a second time for us.

It's recommended if you live nearby. They have a decent selection of different treats. It's best to come during the week and off-peak, as the prices are usually unbeatable!

For a slim 17.90 euros you can get the lunch buffet of surprises - including drinks, sweet temptations and a little trip to musical China, right between sweet and sour duck and fried fortune cookies. The buffet: a lovingly curated selection of “Chicken? Beef? Something with sauce”, vegetables in unexpected shapes and food stall deluxe. Sometimes the sauce tastes like curry, sometimes like lemon detergent - you never know. But that's exactly what makes it so attractive. A bit like a surprise bag, only warm. Soft drinks are available in quantities that even Diet Coke will become embarrassing at some point. If you want to count your calories, you can do so - but only if you have updated your calculator first. Instead: a seemingly endless selection of gummy bears, marshmallows and colorful cubes with questionable consistency. Childhood memories meet canteen. You ALWAYS find a place, which in the gastronomic world is now almost as rare as real chicken in a chicken dish. The music? Somewhere between an Asian wellness CD and a Chinese waiting room - pleasant, relaxing, slightly sleepy. And then: the silent highlight. The toilet. Rarely do you enjoy going to the toilet so much. Clean, quiet, tidy – almost a meditative end to the visit. I would almost say: you don't go there just for the buffet. At the checkout you then dutifully pay your 17.90 euros - probably the fairest entry fee into a small Asian parallel universe in which you are released back into reality full, slightly irritated, but also somehow satisfied. Conclusion: If you are hungry, have a sense of humor and have a bit of a sense of adventure, this is the place for you. The palate is challenged, the stomach is filled and the senses are stimulated. And all for the price of a medium-quality kebab plate with cola. Chapeau, pavilion.

We went to the pavilion for the lunch buffet, our first time in Erfurt. We really enjoy eating Asian food, whether it's Chinese, Thai or Vietnamese, so we have a certain amount of experience. We didn't like the food at Pavillon Erfurt at all, the sauces all had the same taste - no fresh spices, some of the food tasted like old fat, the quality of the meat was, well, everything was cheap. Service could be friendlier, the gentleman (obviously the owner) who you have to pay at the checkout doesn't have a friendly word to say, his facial expression is annoying. This is not how you receive or serve guests. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the Chinese Restaurant Pavillon.

We arrived at the lunch buffet at 1:45 p.m., supposedly it was supposed to last until 3 p.m. and be refilled warm until 2:30 p.m. Unfortunately everything was already cold, meat dried out, pasta not edible. We were recommended to come at 11:30 a.m. next time, then everything would still be warm, which for me was absolutely subterranean. At least we got a small discount, hence the two stars.

Food: absolutely average buffet food. The sauces are all below average. Even simple things like fried rice or fried noodles don't matter. A lack of taste is compensated for with a lot of spiciness and fat. Coconut milk almost nowhere to be mentioned. Service: You serve yourself at the buffet. However, there should be someone at the entrance to give you a quick introduction. Ambiance: The restaurant was nicely designed. But the entire floor stuck, which wasn't nice. Still 3* because not much more could be expected for €17.9 at lunchtime. Drinks included, a good price for anyone who just wants to fill up.

I’ve been to this place a few times before and always had a decent experience. So I decided to go again for my birthday this year and booked a table for two via Google. Got the confirmation, all good. Later, since we were running late, we called to inform them, only to be told, quite rudely, by the woman on the phone that there was “no booking” under my name. Before I could explain further, she repeatedly said “Ich kann nicht weiterhelfen” and tried to end the call. I offered my email address (used in the Google booking), tried to clarify — but was met with cold dismissal and zero effort to help. My friend, a fluent German speaker, stepped in to try and sort it out. The woman finally admitted there were free tables but still refused to reserve one, saying it was "short notice." Instead, we were told to just "try our luck and see if something's available when we get there." No acknowledgment of the system error. No apology. No flexibility. No customer care. We scrapped the plan and went to one of the best Indian restaurants in Erfurt instead, spent the same (actually a bit more), had a wonderful evening, and were surprised with dessert on the house after ordering it, simply because the staff cared. That’s how you treat customers. This restaurant lost not just business that day, but also two returning customers. I also saw a recent review mentioning a rude staff member here, if it’s the same person, this clearly wasn’t a one-time slip. If it’s someone else, then there are at least two people here who seriously need training in basic hospitality.

Was there at the all-you-can-eat. The food tasted like frozen food and the service spoke to you loudly. The price was way too high for this service.

We have already been to several dozen Asian buffet restaurants from Berlin to Vienna and this restaurant is unfortunately rather in the lower field. In particular, the price-performance ratio simply doesn't fit for €30.90 per person. Other buffet restaurants in Erfurt offer the same thing for €10 less and if you're not into all-you-can drink lemonade at Ikea restaurant level, it's not worth the extra charge. The buffet experience was rather a disappointing experience for us, especially since the freshly prepared grill was not worth its name. Mongolian BBQ is different. It was also very crowded and the buffet was only refilled very slowly. At least the cat robots were cute.

So, it has been confirmed once again that these all you can eat buffets are not for me. The food wasn't well seasoned for my taste, I didn't like the non-alcoholic drinks that were included, I felt like I was in a cheap all-inclusive hotel. There was no Mongolian buffet where you could hand over plates you created yourself to be fried. However, a grill station. The restaurant was busy, so a lot of people have bigger stomachs than me. The best part was the chocolate fountain. For me, “normal” Asian restaurants are probably the better choice. I pay less, it tastes better, and I still get full. I was there on Friday evening and paid €30.90.

Their behavior was rude, unprofessional, and we felt like they were trying to force the overpriced, unappealing buffet on us. We left. Not a recommendation!

We were there on a Friday. The online reservation was easy, and we booked a table for 7:45 p.m. We opted for the buffet. All dishes were refilled at that time. The food was good, the service was excellent, and empty plates and glasses were cleared promptly. I personally like the fact that you pay €5 for uneaten plates and €2 for unfinished glasses to prevent food waste. All in all, we had a lovely evening and will definitely be back.

We went to the restaurant for a buffet dinner at the weekend. The taste of the food is very weak/the right spices are missing. The meat was so soft that you didn't need teeth to chop it - it was cooked so dead that it didn't taste good at all. Other than the crispy chicken, I didn't like the meat at all. Too bad! For €30.50 you get a definitely better buffet where you are satisfied. Of course, we also had some leftovers left on the plate and my friend thought we should put all the leftovers together on one plate. The waiter didn't think it was that good and said "if he brings the plate to the kitchen like that, the boss will complain and he'll charge you extra!" Whether you have a quarter of a plate of leftover food left over on 4 plates or make a full plate out of 4 plates is actually completely irrelevant. And if it doesn't taste good, there's just something left over. The question wasn't asked whether there was something wrong with the food, but rather what was the point of the leftovers? That's not possible. We don't need this visit again. What a shame actually!

So I can't completely understand the consistently positive reviews. We were there at lunchtime during the week and I think the price is worth it, but paying more in the evening or on the weekend?... you can't eat and drink that much. In my opinion, the selection was quite small: 1x fried rice (with peas and kidney beans?), 1x fried noodles, various sauces, duck, chicken and limp fish. Vegetables included champions and beans as well as breaded cauliflower. There is certainly a small salad buffet, soups and a dessert buffet, but nothing that will blow your mind. The child ate chicken nuggets and fries 🫣 the banana in the batter was black inside, the chicken was partly gristly. The positive thing is that all non-alcoholic drinks are included, as well as coffee and the like. I also think the ambience is fine and the service staff were very nice and attentive.

Ein sehr großes China-Buffet Restaurant im Industriegebiet am Stadtrand. Großer Parkplatz vor dem Eingang. An Wochenenden besser reserieren, immer voll. Das Buffet ist sehr umfangreich und die Speisen sind alle lecker. Die Softdrinks und Kaffee sind im Buffetpreis enthalten zum selberzapfen. An Sonntagen und Feiertagen ist das Buffet deutlich teurer als in der Woche. Man kann aber auch a-la-Carte essen. Eine Empfehlung wenn man in Erfurt ist, der Besuch hat sich gelohnt.

A very large Chinese buffet restaurant in the industrial area on the outskirts of town. Large parking lot in front of the entrance. It's better to make a reservation on weekends, always full. The buffet is very extensive and the dishes are all delicious. The soft drinks and coffee are included in the buffet price and can be poured yourself. On Sundays and public holidays the buffet is significantly more expensive than during the week. But you can also eat a la carte. A recommendation if you are in Erfurt, the visit was worth it.

I'm extremely disappointed after all the positive reviews here online. The food wasn't good at all. I tried everything possible and everything tasted really weird. I don't have the greatest demands, but the sauces (no matter which ones and the fried noodles) were subterranean in taste. The spring rolls had zero vegetables in them and the baked cauliflower was just mushy. The chest was broken and very disgusting. This is the first restaurant where we as a family decided not to go again.

Good location right on the main road towards Weimar and Erfurt City. Parking lot right in front of the door, everything was quite spacious, you sit with enough distance. We were greeted very friendly and we were assigned a nice table. The selection and preparation of the dishes was very successful. We tested the lunch buffet and found it very tasty. The sanitary rooms were clean and had enough space for guests. We'd love to come back!

Top service, unbeatable price and great selection! I was at a Chinese restaurant at lunchtime with three people and we enjoyed an all-you-can-eat offer with a drinks flat rate for just 17.50 euros per person. The service was really first class - got a table straight away, no waiting times, and the process was extremely organized. The plates were cleared quickly and the staff were consistently friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and completely enough to fill everyone up. We were particularly impressed by the drinks flat rate: In addition to Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Diet Coke, water and apple spritzer, there are two large coffee machines where you can freshly prepare latte macchiato, espresso, coffee and more - all included. Unbeatable for this price! A great lunch special with top service and great value for money. We'll definitely be back!

The buffet is definitely very extensive, but I wouldn't say there is something for everyone. Vegetarians will find it difficult to get anything on their plate other than pasta, rice and baked cauliflower. Tofu is actually an everyday food, especially in Asia. On our first visit we got some when we asked, on the second visit we were ignored without any response. Even the beans have bacon on them. I don't want everything to be tailored to my needs, but I can definitely make a few compromises without anyone feeling disadvantaged. There may be just one alternative. Otherwise, we were probably there at a busy time, it was full, you were bumped into several times at the buffet, both by customers and waiters who simply elbowed you in the side to force their way.

All in all a great experience. Very quick and friendly service, excellent food which also tastes very good. The buffet offers a huge selection in all directions, including vegetarian! I would eat there again in a heartbeat and at any time.

Everything was great as always. Unfortunately, the reservation from 12 p.m. didn't arrive at reception until 1 p.m., even though it was clarified by phone. Unfortunately there are all kinds of cafes but no cocoa for children😭, my daughter didn't think it was that good. The food was always out of stock at the buffet but was returned quite quickly. Hardly anyone else offers All You Can Drink any competition at this price. The chicken wings weren't a hit this time, they were somehow overly seasoned and tasted strange. I've found the peanut sauce better elsewhere and it was very fatty (yes nuts are fatty but there's another way). The ice cream could only be removed with an ice cream spoon and that was true for all types. Then the glass bowls for the ice cream all looked dirty but were just very worn out. There are no latte macchiato spoons, only small spoons. I also thought it was a shame that there was no sushi for lunch. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is very loud and you are not really isolated in your group of tables as is possible in other Chinese restaurants. Children often need straws because they are only given out in cardboard. This not only changes the taste, but glass straws would be an alternative and even better for the environment. Personally, I don't have any alternatives for drying my hands in the toilet because it has been proven that hand dryers like hairdryers are a bacteria killer. Parking spaces are rather rare at lunchtime, especially when there are people who park at an angle like small children sleep in an XXL box spring bed at night. The staff was very friendly. So it sounds bad overall, but if you go out for a buffet meal and the rest was okay to good, I would recommend it. You can only get better with tips and criticism, but 4 out of 5 is something.

We were there for the first time yesterday, 6 adults and a child, and we were there just after half past five, just after it opened, that was a mistake! There were crowds of people at the buffet (concept (I didn't know that before): food and non-alcoholic drinks as well as hot drinks for €30 per person; in the end it was a great thing), although there was a huge selection of starters, main courses and desserts, sushi and soups, it was a huge crowd at first (but our son was hungry!), so it was better to come half an hour later, from then on it was relaxed. Food is replenished immediately, is hot, tasty and has something for every taste (veggie, etc.). The service is nice and quick and the atmosphere, despite the size, is very nice.

Absolute disappointment. The food is fried to death and everything tastes bitter like fat. Absolutely not recommended. The stomach pains start right away. Even the fruit at dessert appears to have been treated with some kind of preparation and tastes like it has been bathed in vinegar. The only thing that is tolerable are the drinks, although after this experience I wouldn't be surprised if they also tasted like fat and vinegar. With the disgusting taste and meat with all the cartilage and fat still attached, it is a disgrace that they charge €5 per uneaten plate. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

We've been there a few times and each time we've been a little disappointed. Once a waitress told us that we had to eat everything on the plate. Another time she said that we were only allowed to have the buffet, even though we wanted to order something from the menu. Last time I visited, the grill employee told me I wasn't allowed to take that many mussels (I only took four for eight people). The dishes are really delicious, but we were disappointed by the behavior of the staff. Maybe that's why we'll never go back.
