Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place. It's not vegetarian or allergy-friendly. For example, instead of a proper list of all allergens, there's only a list of various things that might be in the dishes. That's unacceptable. Essentially, it's useless for allergy sufferers. On top of that, the sushi was an absolute disgrace. There was old sushi lying around (you could taste it), and the sushi platters were empty and only replenished after we asked, and even then, only one platter was brought out instead of all of them. Disappointing for the price. The hygiene was also really poor (glasses still had droplets after washing, plates were dirty on the bottom). I also found the dessert selection inadequate. The taste was only mediocre. We left quickly and were glad we did. We won't be coming back.

It was my birthday and they didn't sing for me. Oh dear... But otherwise, I have no complaints about the food. The beer unfortunately costs extra, but the nuggets were great. Cheers!

A large all-you-can-eat buffet at reasonable prices. However, the meat quality is pretty abysmal. The beef is extremely tough, and much of it is overcooked. When it gets busy on weekends, the aisles are simply too small, and you end up pushing past the dishes in a crowd. The ice cream and chocolate fountain quickly start to look like a battlefield.

The atmosphere, the food, everything is great. If you are driving, there will not be enough space. But there is a hardware store nearby, which saves.

The restaurant offers a very varied buffet selection, both in the evenings, at lunch, and on weekends. Non-alcoholic beverages are also included in the buffet price, so you can chat over a cappuccino after dinner. There's plenty of seating and a small play area for children, although I would recommend creating a small outdoor area for them to run around, so they're not constantly going back and forth between the play area and the swivel chair at the reception. All in all, this is our favorite restaurant in Erfurt, where we enjoy regular visits.

We were already in Erfurt and ended up there looking for an Asian restaurant. The Pavilion is a hall-sized space, but thanks to the furnishings and decor, it doesn't feel uncomfortable. It was packed, but thanks to table service, you always find a seat. The service is very friendly, attentive, and efficient. There was a buffet. It was very plentiful, fresh, and varied – for both the main course and dessert. Soft drinks and tea were included; alcoholic drinks were available for an additional charge. We were there as a couple. The buffet price of €30 was unfortunately only worth it for one of us. Therefore, we wouldn't take the children to the buffet; we can't comment on the a la carte menu.

First time there. Hygiene at the buffet leaves something to be desired, especially with the ice cream and soft drinks.

The food and atmosphere were very good, and there was a large selection. What really bothered me, however, after several visits, was that I got a cold after each visit. Especially when it's very busy and lots of people are touching the ladles at the buffet, a bit of disinfectant would be more hygienic and appropriate. There's supposedly some disinfectant hanging by the door, but it's just water. I've also noticed that one of the waitresses gets a bit nervous whenever you haven't finished your meal after an hour (especially with children, it sometimes takes a while for everyone to get their plate). Therefore, two points deducted for service.

It's a bit like a mediocre cafeteria. The food is mostly bland in flavor and greasy. The Coke is diluted to the extreme (as long as there's still water, there's still Coke).

The food, or rather the buffet, was good. The environment was quite loud. A large room for all guests. Value for money, and the quality of the food was okay. For a €30 buffet meal, they could have at least offered beer and wine. So, a bit expensive and much too loud.

This was our second time there; the last time was a few years ago. The taste has gotten worse. No-name soft drinks, a very limited selection at the lunch buffet. The food was generally very tasteless. It was hard to tell whether you were eating chicken or duck.

Large selection. I wasn't sure if I could eat as much as I wanted from the buffet? There weren't many healthy drinks to choose from. Otherwise, though, it was tasty and nice. The German language was a bit difficult.

An all-you-can-eat buffet with a compelling selection. There's a specialty section with a variety of dishes. Crocodile, mussels, king prawns, Peking duck, etc. From dumplings and soups to main courses, there's a diverse selection. The kimchi is very good. The drinks, which are included in the price, are good. Beer costs extra. The food is good and we enjoy it. So far, we haven't had to leave anything behind. Despite the size of the restaurant, it's beautiful and doesn't feel like a hall. The staff is attentive and friendly.

Today was the second time we ate at the Pavilion. The first time was last year on a Saturday for the buffet. Even then, we found the whole atmosphere and the noise level simply unpleasant. Everything reminded us of a large company canteen; you can't really get any cozy food there. The buffet back then was quite extensive and tasty. Now the three of us went to the buffet again on Monday lunchtime. Not again!!! The food from the buffet was so tasteless. The soups were completely over-seasoned and spicy. The quality of the meat was appalling; everything tasted bland. You couldn't really tell whether you were eating chicken, duck, or fish because everything tasted equally bland. We were there at 12:15 p.m., actually the best time for dinner, and the buffet wasn't particularly hot either. Our trip was so sobering and disappointing that we won't eat there again.

There was no seafood, as is common in Chinese restaurants. I'm sorry, but the service was provided by a very rude woman.

The first time I was there 1.5 years ago in the evening, I really enjoyed it so much that I wanted to go back...now I'm back in Erfurt and unfortunately, I was there for lunch. I know from other Asian buffets that you have the same selection at lunch as in the evening, except for the grill buffet (which is cheaper, of course). And that's perfectly fine. I was very disappointed with what was offered, but even more so that it simply didn't taste good. We were there with the family, and we're normally trained to only return empty plates, but this time the plates were all half full. And I don't go to a restaurant to enjoy ice cream, canned fruit, and a chocolate fountain, because that was all we ended up eating. Dessert should just be a nice end to a GOOD meal. When we got home, we were just sick. We like to pay when we go out for a good meal...but the almost €100 was really a waste of money. In any case, we won't be seeing you again, which is a shame, because after our first visit, we were really looking forward to it. Maybe they should pay more attention to the selection and, above all, the quality of the food at lunchtime, and not just the price... The main thing is that there's something there... and it was a Saturday lunchtime (during the week, when people don't tend to eat out as much, I can understand that). It's better to pay a little more but go home satisfied.

As the evening approached, the waitress became more insistent, urging us to go to the cash register. Even though the restaurant was open until 10 p.m. By 9:30 p.m., there were no more drinks or coffee available, so we had to leave the restaurant at 9:30 p.m. We found that very sad.

This place gets more and more expensive and the food lost lots of quality. It's not enjoyable anymore. The atmosphere is still reminiscent of a large cafeteria. The food has become inedible, very salty, and you just don't feel good afterwards. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it anymore. Even if you watch the chocolate fountain at closing time, the food no longer looks appealing. I don't want to know what we're eating. The food is cheap and maybe not even so fresh...I really like it there before, a couple years ago, the deserts are ok...Unfortunately, this was my last visit there.

The food and atmosphere is ok, but the service attitude from the female waitress (perhaps the owner’s wife) is shockingly bad. Annoyed face for every customer, and even said sarcastically to us “you are staying here as if you are celebrating big” while we only stayed 1.5 hours. We were more than pleasantly surprised. Often, you find a lot of thawed food at buffets because, given the sheer volume (and the amount that might be thrown away), it's not worth it otherwise. But we've rarely eaten such good, freshly prepared food, even at the à la carte menu! The meat, in particular, was incredibly tasty, tender, and not at all greasy. Even the fried dishes weren't dripping with grease. The price per person (€27.90 for weekday evenings, a little more on weekends) was completely justified, given that you can choose what you want and, in particular, that non-alcoholic drinks are included in the price. Over half the food was empty, cold, and some of the heat lamps were broken. They weren't replenished. Since the buffet is supposed to be served until 10:00 p.m., we're very disappointed. The food was anything but good, unfortunately only lukewarm. The drinks were definitely too watery. The soups were definitely the best thing on today's buffet, the sauces were either too salty or burnt. The salads were fresh but not cut finely enough to be a real treat. The only ready meal worth recommending was the chicken liver, which was tasty and very well cooked, everything else was unfortunately much too salty. In summary: 90% of the food on offer was convenience products and not even these were served properly, some were reheated several times. Our only tip for everyone is: spend an extra 10 euros and go to a good Chinese restaurant and let them spoil you. Then you'll know what good food is all about, because we didn't get it here the second time either.

The desserts here are actually quite tasty. However, if you come in the first half of the day, when there is no sushi yet, the choice of dishes turns out to be very limited. Most of the products on offer are battered, and almost all of the batter is quite spicy. People who do not like spicy food will have a hard time finding a variety to their taste. I tried several times to ask the waiter to order an additional drink and ask him to light a candle, which quickly went out, but unfortunately, to no avail. The service did not leave the most pleasant impression on our last visit here. Overall, the atmosphere of the place is very pleasant and conveys the Chinese style well.

Update I thought, after 3 years, you'd come back and give the pavilion a chance. NO, absolutely not. For people who pay attention to a vegetarian or vegan diet, NO!!! Asian cuisine offers such a wide variety of that, and there's nothing here in that regard. All soups with meat and/or beef broth! Dumplings were exactly the same. There was one type of vegetable, probably meant to be the Asian version of Kaisergemüse, simply unimaginative. The taste was boring. To charge 30 euros for that, cheeky. I'd almost say brazen. They advertise it as a grill buffet. This grill buffet consists of six bowls of dry "grilled food" sitting under a heat lamp for ages. This is moderation over quality, "German" Asia instead of loving selection and variety. Why eat croquettes and fries at an Asian restaurant? I'd much rather go to the little Asian snack bar around the corner. Or you can go downtown and visit one of the many new fusion restaurants... Such a huge disappointment and such a decline in quality since it opened. You don't even need to make a reservation anymore, which is no wonder. The Pavilion used to be busy. Its heyday is long gone. The staff is scarce, the restrooms are dirty, and in front of it, there was a corner where the TV played an unpleasantly loud "children's program." What a waste of time and money. Simply a cafeteria-style mass processing!!! The ambiance is truly 5-star. BUT....The selection for vegetarians at the buffet is completely inadequate. Why beans with bacon 🤷🏽‍♀️ Vegetarians also pay full price for nothing. There's definitely room for improvement. Especially since the dietary trend is moving in this direction, and especially since Asia offers plenty of alternatives. This type of diet is also culturally widespread there. It's a shame it's not implemented here. Unfortunately, the food is far too greasy, and the flavor isn't exactly mind-blowing. It seems more like everything has been "Germanized" somehow. Why? It doesn't fit into either world. If anything, it's truly Asian. So, I don't need the buffet again.

We ordered through TooGoodToGo and are extremely disappointed. Previously, you could always put together your own box, but today the boxes were prepared by the staff. We specifically mentioned that we don't eat a lot of meat and fish, and were assured that the boxes were vegetarian. Further questions were ignored; we were completely ignored until we left. When we got home, we discovered that the "vegetarian" contents consisted of croquettes, fish with sauce, bacon-wrapped beans, and various meats, all haphazardly thrown together and inedible for us.

Naturally! China Restaurant Pavillon, Erfurt – culinary roulette at a fixed price Who says you can't have an adventure in Erfurt for less than 20 euros? Just go to the pavilion! For a slim 17.90 euros you can get the lunch buffet of surprises - including drinks, sweet temptations and a little trip to musical China, right between sweet and sour duck and fried fortune cookies. The buffet: a lovingly curated selection of “Chicken? Beef? Something with sauce”, vegetables in unexpected shapes and food stall deluxe. Sometimes the sauce tastes like curry, sometimes like lemon detergent - you never know. But that's exactly what makes it so attractive. A bit like a surprise bag, only warm. Soft drinks are available in quantities that even Diet Coke will become embarrassing at some point. If you want to count your calories, you can do so - but only if you have updated your calculator first. Instead: a seemingly endless selection of gummy bears, marshmallows and colorful cubes with questionable consistency. Childhood memories meet canteen. You ALWAYS find a place, which in the gastronomic world is now almost as rare as real chicken in a chicken dish. The music? Somewhere between an Asian wellness CD and a Chinese waiting room - pleasant, relaxing, slightly sleepy. And then: the silent highlight. The toilet. Rarely do you enjoy going to the toilet so much. Clean, quiet, tidy – almost a meditative end to the visit. I would almost say: you don't go there just for the buffet. At the checkout you then dutifully pay your 17.90 euros - probably the fairest entry fee into a small Asian parallel universe in which you are released back into reality full, slightly irritated, but also somehow satisfied. Conclusion: If you are hungry, have a sense of humor and have a bit of a sense of adventure, this is the place for you. The palate is challenged, the stomach is filled and the senses are stimulated. And all for the price of a medium-quality kebab plate with cola. Chapeau, pavilion.

We arrived at the lunch buffet at 1:45 p.m., supposedly it was supposed to last until 3 p.m. and be refilled warm until 2:30 p.m. Unfortunately everything was already cold, meat dried out, pasta not edible. We were recommended to come at 11:30 a.m. next time, then everything would still be warm, which for me was absolutely subterranean. At least we got a small discount, hence the two stars.

We went to the pavilion for the lunch buffet, our first time in Erfurt. We really enjoy eating Asian food, whether it's Chinese, Thai or Vietnamese, so we have a certain amount of experience. We didn't like the food at Pavillon Erfurt at all, the sauces all had the same taste - no fresh spices, some of the food tasted like old fat, the quality of the meat was, well, everything was cheap. Service could be friendlier, the gentleman (obviously the owner) who you have to pay at the checkout doesn't have a friendly word to say, his facial expression is annoying. This is not how you receive or serve guests. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the Chinese Restaurant Pavillon.

Food: absolutely average buffet food. The sauces are all below average. Even simple things like fried rice or fried noodles don't matter. A lack of taste is compensated for with a lot of spiciness and fat. Coconut milk almost nowhere to be mentioned. Service: You serve yourself at the buffet. However, there should be someone at the entrance to give you a quick introduction. Ambiance: The restaurant was nicely designed. But the entire floor stuck, which wasn't nice. Still 3* because not much more could be expected for €17.9 at lunchtime. Drinks included, a good price for anyone who just wants to fill up.

I’ve been to this place a few times before and always had a decent experience. So I decided to go again for my birthday this year and booked a table for two via Google. Got the confirmation, all good. Later, since we were running late, we called to inform them, only to be told, quite rudely, by the woman on the phone that there was “no booking” under my name. Before I could explain further, she repeatedly said “Ich kann nicht weiterhelfen” and tried to end the call. I offered my email address (used in the Google booking), tried to clarify — but was met with cold dismissal and zero effort to help. My friend, a fluent German speaker, stepped in to try and sort it out. The woman finally admitted there were free tables but still refused to reserve one, saying it was "short notice." Instead, we were told to just "try our luck and see if something's available when we get there." No acknowledgment of the system error. No apology. No flexibility. No customer care. We scrapped the plan and went to one of the best Indian restaurants in Erfurt instead, spent the same (actually a bit more), had a wonderful evening, and were surprised with dessert on the house after ordering it, simply because the staff cared. That’s how you treat customers. This restaurant lost not just business that day, but also two returning customers. I also saw a recent review mentioning a rude staff member here, if it’s the same person, this clearly wasn’t a one-time slip. If it’s someone else, then there are at least two people here who seriously need training in basic hospitality.

We have already been to several dozen Asian buffet restaurants from Berlin to Vienna and this restaurant is unfortunately rather in the lower field. In particular, the price-performance ratio simply doesn't fit for €30.90 per person. Other buffet restaurants in Erfurt offer the same thing for €10 less and if you're not into all-you-can drink lemonade at Ikea restaurant level, it's not worth the extra charge. The buffet experience was rather a disappointing experience for us, especially since the freshly prepared grill was not worth its name. Mongolian BBQ is different. It was also very crowded and the buffet was only refilled very slowly. At least the cat robots were cute.

So, it has been confirmed once again that these all you can eat buffets are not for me. The food wasn't well seasoned for my taste, I didn't like the non-alcoholic drinks that were included, I felt like I was in a cheap all-inclusive hotel. There was no Mongolian buffet where you could hand over plates you created yourself to be fried. However, a grill station. The restaurant was busy, so a lot of people have bigger stomachs than me. The best part was the chocolate fountain. For me, “normal” Asian restaurants are probably the better choice. I pay less, it tastes better, and I still get full. I was there on Friday evening and paid €30.90.
