A thoroughly great stay. The service was great and the food was excellent. Starting from the starter soup and salad to the main course was simply great. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately we will not be returning to this restaurant. Although the main course was excellent, the female waiter on Saturday, October 12th, 2024 was extremely rude and unfriendly. We have eaten here several times in the past but this time we are really disappointed. We didn't like the salad this time, and the guests at the neighboring tables also reported similar things to us. When we directed our criticism at the service, it was met with horror and resistance to criticism. We were then punished with ignorance. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were ignored and had to wait 10 minutes despite having a reservation. After being assigned our seat, we were not greeted. The waitress just asked: “Where did you come from now?” Have you finally chosen something to drink yet? I’m in a hurry.” That’s when my jaw dropped for the first time. The same game when eating: the cards were just thrown onto the table by the waitress as we passed. We didn't feel comfortable here and will definitely not come again.

So I've eaten in the restaurant a few times and it was always nice and tasty, but today I was visibly disappointed, the salad didn't taste good and I was greeted unfriendly or not at all by the service employee and the complaint about the salad was not addressed at all and after that we weren't asked if we wanted something to drink or anything else!

A restaurant with the flair of the Viking era. The ambience is stunning. The operator and staff are very friendly and competent. The dishes are adapted to the theme as are the prices. We recommend the theme evenings on Wednesdays with a corresponding buffet and appropriate live music. We were now able to attend the second event, a whiskey tasting, and have had another wonderful evening. The ambience, company, food and hospitality are simply great. The prices are adjusted to the event. We'd love to come back. Simply a great place.

Very cozy Viking restaurant. Rustic furnishings with cozy furs on the seating. The boss serves personally and is super friendly. The food is super delicious. Meat extremely tender, fish tender and well seasoned. The whole atmosphere is perfect and we would love to come back. It should also be mentioned that it is better to reserve in advance.

We found out about the location through internet research and were very impressed when we entered the restaurant. A very quaint and “very cozy” restaurant... important to us: dogs are welcome! The service is great and the kitchen was a dream. The steak is to the point, wonderfully tender and a taste experience par excellence. My better half ordered fish and was also thrilled. It's a shame that the next day was a rest day. Otherwise we would have returned. The next time we are in the region, we will definitely stop by again. Best regards!

Something completely different than the many other restaurants around you. We were there on Tuesday around 7:00 p.m. and it was pleasantly empty. So we were able to take a look at the extraordinary decoration and inspect the drinks and menu in a relaxed manner. Hmmm, Guinness on tap, but unfortunately not for me because we were there by car. This will also be the "normal" form of arrival here, because the Walhalla is located just outside the tourist centers of East Frisia. The food was really tasty, and it was on the table quite quickly after ordering. Meat tender, fish cooked to perfection. Fresh mushrooms and sauces, deliciously seasoned and sufficient in quantity. The service is nice, there is plenty of parking space, in short: everything is great. Yes, the prices are slightly higher than other "international restaurants". But given the rustic atmosphere and good quality of the food, we think it's appropriate.

An inconspicuous building from the outside. Then you come in and get blown away. Just class. We had the buffet and live Scottish music. It was incredibly tasty, the service was super friendly. Our conclusion: we now come here every year on our vacation. An unforgettable and delicious evening ❤️

Odin himself comes to eat regularly. We were there on an event Wednesday. There was a buffet and live music. For food: There were various meat variations as well as potato wedges and various vegetables. The service was also excellent. Drinks were brought quickly and people always looked and asked if anything else should be brought. A very great ambience in the style of a Viking hall. Conclusion: We will definitely be back!

Gods really are fed here. From the outside it doesn't seem like a hall built by Vikings, but from the inside it looks really nice. Like Ragnar Lohtbrok's main hall is absolutely beautiful. The waiter was very friendly and helpful and took his time with questions, very accommodating in my opinion. The food arrived quickly and looked really promising. Me and my husband haven't eaten so well in a long time. I can't say anything other than super delicious! We also arrived spontaneously because it was my birthday today and had simply said that we had wanted to try it out for a long time and we weren't disappointed. I also thought it was really sweet that the waiter gave me a heart lollipop when I told him that was mine Birthday just be nice☺. The prices are also reasonable (in my opinion). The sanitary facilities were also clean. All in all it was a great evening, everything was great and me and my husband were happy. We will definitely come back and maybe we will bring friends and acquaintances with us so that they can also enjoy dining like gods. Best regards

Went there again last night after a long time. The food was very tasty and the ambience was great as always. Even if it is a little more crowded, you can still have a good conversation and not be disturbed by the noise of others.

Great insider tip! Friendly service. Lots of choice of vegan / vegetarian dishes. The only drawback: the size of the dishes was a bit poor. But because of the large selection we found another dish and ordered it :)

Great ambience, friendly staff, great food and delicious beer. All around a successful mix. I can particularly recommend the fish soup and the minced meat balls. Card payment in the restaurant is possible, but unfortunately tips cannot be given this way. I'm a bit sorry for the service, unfortunately I try to get through the day without cash and usually don't have anything with me :( Card payment possible via EC and credit cards (PayPal Google Wallet).

I'm only mentioning a few flaws here because everything else was really OK. Almost died of thirst at our table. The drinks menu is a bit misleading (Odins with mead is a Grevensteiner with mead). Our service was very unfriendly and even rude. The room is very poorly ventilated or not ventilated at all.

Eat like the ancient Vikings. You feel like you've been transported back in time a bit. The service in beautiful clothes corresponding to the theme in a wood-dominated atmosphere with heavy, large tables and benches with furs on them. Somehow quite comfortable, but not for people with ties and collars. The food was delicious and plentiful. Tastes like great grandma's. Simple dishes with imaginative names such as thunderballs for meatballs. Anyone who goes to a restaurant like this also expects this ambience. There are probably theme evenings where there is live music, but I haven't attended those yet. The service is very friendly, accommodating and fond of children. All in all, a loving 4.7 stars from me.

Mega cool location. It's not just Vikings who feel at home here. Were here on vacation and discovered it by chance. We ate here on July 18, 2024. Dogs are allowed in, there are no outdoor spaces. Large parking lot for free. Service very friendly and competent. Water for our dog came without asking 👍🤗 We ordered Odin's Revenge on a spit (medallions with peat wedges, mushrooms and fiery sauce) and Olaf the ancestor (young bull steak with peat wedges and root vegetables), with a small salad. My dog ​​got tender grilled turkey strips. Everything was very tasty and the portion was really sufficient. Toilet was so clean and spacious. We'll come back the next time we vacation here 👍🙂

The food was visually very appealing and very tasteful. The quality speaks for itself. Delicious SOUP first, braised beef, tender as butter. The steaks are also very good and tender. The salad was fresh and delicious Now for the negative. The dark-haired waitress was extremely unfriendly and snippy. The other waitress, on the other hand, was very friendly and accommodating. Ordered steak medium, the first one was unfortunately completely cooked through, complained about, the second one was unfortunately raw. But I ate it anyway, after the first back and forth. I was the only one in the group who was still eating anyway because of the waiting time for the steak I complained about. The handling of the situation was also not satisfactory. The plate was taken to the kitchen and the same one was brought back without the steak, which was brought separately later. Then you make a new plate and apologize properly. It can happen at any time, for whatever reason. The portions are all very poor, from the soup to the salad to the main courses. Everything is not appropriate. It would also be nice if some music was played. The lamps are too bright, blinding and make it uncomfortable. Afterwards we went to Subway. Overall, it's a great store with room for improvement.

We have been to Walhalla several times now and always come back happy! The apple mead soup is awesome, but the other dishes are also really tasty. Last month we had dinner there with our wedding party and put together a great buffet in advance with the owner couple. Everyone was excited. The kids were able to move around in the restaurant, the ambience was perfect,... We will continue to come back again and again!

The food was great, we were there for the Scottish evening. The owners and staff are very warm and extremely friendly, we had the feeling of being part of a big family that evening. The loving ambience was designed with so much love and passion! The owners not only offer their guests something special in terms of cuisine, but there is also a lot to please the eye, especially with the great works of art on the walls. The buffet was served in an old sailing boat, which gave the whole evening another flair. A Scottish piper provided the musical accompaniment with his bagpipes. Which was really great, especially for my husband, who lived in Scotland for so long and already misses it here in Germany. The rooms are very accessible, especially for wheelchair users. We are already looking forward to the next time and can definitely go back.

We were there for the Scottish theme evening. Everything fit. Great ambience with great attention to detail, the food selection at the buffet is tailored to the theme and super tasty (haggis, neeps and tatties; homemade bacon, meatballs, scotch eggs, better than the original etc) The staff friendly and attentive. Before the meal, the boss introduced the entire staff of the evening by name, including the ladies who helped out in the kitchen. This is an appreciation that you almost never experience these days. Unfortunately. An excellent Piper provided the entertainment. I have lived in Scotland for over 20 years and have not missed anything in Valhalla. We will be back.

Today we wanted to take part in the buffet with 5 people. When the five of us were dissatisfied with sitting at a four-person table, in the path of the kitchen and right in front of the music, we were treated with annoyance and eye-rolling. At the end they suddenly said we were being rude and had better leave. So more service desert is not possible if you as a guest are not even allowed to say what you don't like. We weren't loud or offensive. Unfortunately, both the waitress and the owner were unable to respond to the customer's wishes. I can't judge the food. The buildings and outdoor areas are very unkempt and do not make a good impression. Of course it's all a rustic theme/ambience. But you should still come across as friendly and well-groomed. A pity. We won't be coming back and can't recommend it.

Very nice location in the middle of the Fehn area that you wouldn't expect at first. A hearty Viking atmosphere with cozy, rustic furnishings. Well-kept gastronomy and attentive staff left nothing to be desired. All of this at moderate prices is rare. The food from the buffet, with everything in it, was delicious. Unusual specialties such as flamed salmon and cabbage rolls or pea puree also remain fond memories. We'd love to come back. The stylish live music in authentic clothing still sounds in your ears... Update 6/15/24 Still good. The leftover two-person cat table is like a jump seat. Then it's better not at all. A full table with appropriate lighting would also fit there well and we would have much preferred it. Let's not do it again anytime soon.

Dry slices Rack of smoked pork, mushy potato wedges, savoy cabbage vegetables The day before.They had an event with live music the day before and buffet. They have the leftovers the next day for dear money sold. I've never put something like this on anyone's plate in 50 years (of cooking). This is despite cost pressure in the catering industry an absolute disgrace.

We have been to Walhalla several times since it opened in July 2021, even though we live over 400 km away, and we are equally thrilled every time. Located somewhat out of the way and rather inconspicuous from the outside, it immediately reveals its special charm when you enter the restaurant. The ambience in traditional Nordic Viking style is unique, as is the food. The slogan “Food like the gods” doesn’t promise too much. The menu offers a sufficient selection of meat and fish dishes, and vegetarians also get their money's worth. There is now also a children's menu and various variations of homemade bratwurst. All dishes with melodious Nordic names are freshly prepared, served in style and are extremely delicious. The service is very courteous and very fast, the employees and owners of the Walhalla, who are appropriate for the ambience, are all very friendly and always in a good mood. ❗It is advisable to reserve a table in advance, the restaurant is particularly busy on weekends. ℹ️ Once a week, usually on Wednesdays, themed event evenings (Scottish, Irish, Gallic, Celtic and Viking evenings) take place, where there is live music and a buffet from the Viking ship, matching the respective theme. Prior registration is absolutely necessary; the cost is currently 28 euros per person. We haven't been able to enjoy it yet, but according to the reports on Facebook it's definitely worth it. I really felt like I was in the Viking era

The atmosphere in this restaurant is incredibly beautiful. Especially if you like Nordic and medieval things. ALL the staff were sooo friendly and helpful. The boss and boss were really great. A totally familiar and friendly atmosphere. We felt very comfortable and at home. The food (buffet) was terrific. Everything simply tasted very good. We went through everything so we didn't miss anything and it was worth it. Unfortunately, we were full too quickly. 😂

A really good authentic restaurant, the first time I've been there and would love to come back again😘. The food 10/10 friendliness and service 10/10. And when the curfew was around 10 p.m. and the availability of taxis was only sparse. We were personally driven back to our holiday home by the owner of the restaurant. That's not a given for a restaurant, but it convinced us to the extreme. Mann calls it Service+ 15/10. We'd love to come here again next year. Mega cool location 😃😃😃
