Was here at the end of a bus tour as a dinner address on Tue July 23, 2024. A beautiful location. Everything neat, clean and tidy. And well, what then... The group consisted of almost 50 people. The service...no more than 2 people! The female employee was more than active, but was on her own in the service! So the time between an ordered drink and there it is.... Nevertheless, compliments to her. But also...she had a lot of tattoos and they were mainly visible through her 'summer' clothes. No point for me, but for several other 'seniors', let's just swallow it. It depends on how you look at it!! We live in 2024 after all!! What's more, she came across very much as if she was from somewhere else. Barely spoke German etc... But once again my compliments on how she did everything. Afterwards I learned that 4 employees were scheduled, but in the end 2 dropped out...!!! The very clever solution was to turn it into a 'walking buffet' after the soup in terrine had been served. Nothing wrong with it!! Everything hot and delicious!! My personal preference anyway. Dessert was served on the table...ice cream with whipped cream and warm cherries. Delicious!! In short...my compliments!! It is terrible that more and more catering establishments are experiencing these types of personnel problems. In my opinion, they have done themselves a disservice financially. First of all, by placing a bottle of chilled spring water on the table upon arrival and then replacing it when it was empty!! Costs paid for drinks afterwards!! So don't do that!! Wish them all the best. It won't always be easy these days. There are now several developments at play. Great food and friendly service

Excellent food, with good service. All of the food, from the starter soup to the dessert, is clearly far above the average of a typical country inn. The steaks were e.g. B. perfect. All dishes were fresh, smart and tastefully prepared, rich and not excessive in quantity. In terms of price, the dishes were at a reasonable level, completely fine. The simple building gives no indication of what is inside. Absolutely, unreservedly recommended!

Yes definitely. Food was very tasty.

We had dinner on Mother's Day. The food itself was good and tasty, but we didn't really understand how it was served. I had the pork schnitzel and it seemed pretty lost on the plate because there was nothing else on it (except sauce). Fried potatoes came extra in a bowl, but far too few compared to 5 people who had also ordered some. But everything tasted great. Unfortunately, the waiting time was also quite long even though it wasn't that busy. The tables are nice but quite impractical, they are built on great pallets and you can't sit on them for long because you can't stretch your legs, you always have to sit at an angle, which at some point really hurt and was uncomfortable for me. What will it be like for older people? In addition, they were sometimes a bit unstable. The ambience seems nice, but if you look closer you can see that almost everything is filled with plastic plants and this seems a bit cheap. The service was nice and attentive but all in all the price for the food is absolutely not justified, it tastes very good but unfortunately the rest is not true.

We were there and the food was really bad. Schnitzel was soggy and some of it wasn't cooked through. No apology from the staff, instead just excuses or the sentence “it has to be like that…. We won't go there again.

Buffet was super tasty and prices were ok too.

Yesterday we were there with the regulars for the schnitzel buffet. Absolutely ok for just 19.90 euros. Very tasty, rich, many schnitzel variations and plenty of side dishes. Vegans were also considered. Small negative impression: dessert was only added to a limited extent. Nice atmosphere, our waiter Paddy was a little highlight himself with his quick wit. What we personally didn't like, but of course it's an absolute matter of taste and therefore only counts subjectively: Draft beer selection was poor. In good establishments here, you tend to expect regional Jever on tap in a suitable, thin glass. That was also the reason why we switched to our competitor early on. Toilets clean Plenty of parking spaces and free of charge

Food was very tasty, we had the kale buffet. The service was very nice and quick. Had a very nice evening in a cozy atmosphere. Thank you for that. We would like to come again!

Wonderful atmosphere surrounded by delicious food, very friendly and attentive team. We say thank you very much for the great hours on Boxing Day with hot, delicious food. Something for everyone and more than enough. 17-person family dinner with great-grandma aged 90 and small children aged 1 year and over felt more than comfortable. Unglaublich leckeres Essen, habe sehr lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und der Service ist auch sehr gut. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir waren aufgrund der vielen positiven Rezessionen zum ersten Mal dort essen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die kleine aber feine Karte zeigt die Liebe zum kochen. Hier wird alles frisch zubereitet. Die Gerichte sind wunderbar aufeinander abgestimmt. Schon lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen. Auch das gesamte Ambiente ist gemütlich, der Service zuverkommend. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder !!

Waren mit der Familie dort essen. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Vorspeise, Hauptgang und Nachtisch! Kann man nur weiter empfehlen!

Aus Trier zu Besuch und auf Empfehlung dort essen gewesen. Gegessen wurde das Rumpsteak und das Schweine Filet. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet und darüber hinaus. Die Komponenten gut ausgewählt und abgeschmeckt. Der Service war ebenfalls ausgezeichnet und ist positiv im Kopf geblieben. Liebend gerne nochmal, wenn wir wieder in Holtrop sind 👍

Auf gut Glück da gewesen. Angenehm überrascht worden. Stilvolles Ambiente, sehr freundliche Bedienung und das Essen ausgesprochen gut. Auch von der Schnelligkeit dem Essen entsprechend. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir waren gestern 27.10. zum Steakabend im Holtroper Krug. Das Steak war sehr gut zubereitet worden, die Beilagen vom Buffet waren eine Katastrophe und nicht ansatzweise der ansonsten guten Qualität des Hauses würdig. Also wenn wieder Steakabend dann besser mit Beilagen frisch zubereitet auf dem Teller des Gastes.

Wir waren im Holtroper Krug auf eine Hochzeit eingeladen. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Bedienung sehr schnell und aufmerksam. Wir kommen gerne als Einzelgäste wieder.

Ich hatte eine wundervolle Erfahrung in diesem Restaurant. Die Gerichte waren super frisch und lecker zubereitet. Die Bedienung war äußerst freundlich und aufmerksam. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich, dass sie meine Wünsche bezüglich der Vorspeisen als Hauptgericht umgesetzt haben. Das zeigt echte Flexibilität in der Küche. Insgesamt eine großartige kulinarische Erfahrung!

Sehr zuvorkommender, kinderfreundlicher Service. Essen war gut, aber zu viel. Nachdem die Platten fast leer waren und alle satt waren, wurden diese nochmal aufgefüllt. Dadurch musste vermutlich viel weggeschmissen werden.

Hatten Buffett aufm Ostersonntag gebucht [ca. 24 Personen] Essen war gut. Hatten eine Torte für die Feier mitgebracht. Kaffeepauschale und hingestelle Wasserflaschen ca. 160€. (Beim mitgezahlten Frühstück war Kaffee mit drin, haben wir nicht genutzt, da wir erst Mittag kamen, aber okay.) Was mir nicht gefiel: Zusätzlich kam eine Kuchenpauschale hinzu i.H.v. von 140€, ohne dies vorher zu erwähnen - wir hatten ja pro Person schon fürs Buffett bezahlt + Getränke. Bei der Nachfrage kam die Aufklärung: Das war dür die Reiningung!? und evtl. Dekoration?! Fragt am besten vorher nach beim Buffett, nicht dass diese Positionen euch auch überraschen.

Nettes Personal mit zügiger Bedienung, es wurde an alles gedacht. Das Essen war sehr lecker und das Fleisch sehr zart!
