The architecture and the ambience are unique, very beautiful and worth seeing. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is not worth a visit to the restaurant.

The building speaks for itself! The excellent impression continues inside. Food and service was very good. The menu could have a few more dishes, but that's complaining at a high level. The journey is a bit unclear for strangers.

The best food in Bad Elster, we were here for a week and tried almost all the restaurants. Excellent card and this mega implemented. The waiter is very attentive and the restaurant with its history is worth seeing. Value for money, five more stars.

An absolutely recommended and very cozy restaurant!!!! At first glance, the lighting is breathtaking... The architectural style and the ambience are very tasteful. The menu is very special and the dishes were extremely well prepared and delicious!! An experience that was stunning in every way. A successful evening! We'd love to come back!!

Very nice atmosphere in the forest and still close to the town center (easily accessible on foot). Absolutely recommended for coffee and cake (e.g. delicious waffles and cakes).

Thank you for the lovely, sweet, cozy hours in the forest spring. We were there from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The King Albert cake was a dream. Service was very good and we were allowed to stay seated for a long time even though we had already paid.

We had a nice afternoon with great, really exceptionally good food in this traditional, beautiful restaurant. Thank you very much. Gladly again.

A cozy place to feel good. Very beautifully restored house! The menu isn't very big, but that's a really positive thing. The food itself came extremely quickly. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to what we expected for the price it cost. The meat was hard and extremely little. The other dishes were not particularly tasty in terms of taste. Unfortunately, despite the starter, we weren't full.

The forest spring in Bad Elster, cozy, invitingly beautiful. If you go to the concert at the Nature Theater, a visit to the forest spring beforehand is perfect. The menu is small, but there is something for almost everyone. Regarding the food: First of all, it tastes good, although you can tell that it is a bit mass-produced. Example: Xxl Wiener Schnitzel with lukewarm potato salad - cucumber salad and cranberries. I was a little disappointed. The potato salad was not lukewarm but cold, with a few pieces of cucumber and the schnitzel was lukewarm and I had the impression that it was not freshly made, but had been left for a long time and kept warm. It tasted good, but for €28.00 I expected more quality. But overall the food was good. The staff was very friendly and quick in service. To be on the safe side, you should book a table in advance. It is well attended. Despite minor criticism, thank you for the lovely evening. Gladly again.

The atmosphere is great, very idyllic. Unfortunately the staff is very unfriendly and the food is extremely expensive.

During my final treatment I received visitors who had often stayed in Bad Elster. Since I knew the forest spring from previous stays, I ordered a table. Bad Elster isn't that big, but I hit the jackpot. My guests parked in the large free parking lot at the entrance to the town and enjoyed a wonderful hiking trail to the Waldquelle restaurant. We received a very friendly welcome and found 2 tables reserved for us. We therefore had the choice of sitting in the garden or inside. We decided to go indoors. My guests were very surprised. Firstly, they didn't know the restaurant yet and secondly, they were very happy to find such a well-preserved space, a round restaurant in which the tables are placed around the kitchen and the counter in the middle. You only rarely find something like this anymore. The service was very friendly and the cakes and coffee were served very quickly. The service staff was very attentive and often asked if everything was OK. It was a successful stop. In the open area below the building there was a charcoal grill with several seating options. The trip was worth it.

Traditional restaurant in the forest directly at the Bad Elster Nature Theater. The beer garden in the upper area is equipped with parasols. Be sure to book in advance for theater events. In the lower restaurant area there is a snack bar with grilled food and drinks. You can sit in covered arbors. In combination with our visit to the theater it was a very pleasant stay.

Parking space opposite the parking garage, 10 minutes walk to the spa gardens. Pleasant walk, also through the forest.

Very good for families. Good food, burgers and schnitzels. There is also a children's menu (homemade chicken nuggets and noodles) and a great playground right by the beer garden.

We were there for dinner with 6 people on Saturday before a concert in the Nature Theater. At first we were very confident. The nice man who served us was very accommodating, personable and nice. Despite the busyness, our drinks came quite quickly. But that was it for the positive. When we waited a long time for our food to arrive, we were extremely disappointed. The pike perch was totally over-seasoned, the herb patties were just canned mushrooms. The schnitzel looked like it had been fried two days ago and had just been reheated. We also ordered the entrecot with a baked potato twice. That was the biggest impudence. For €33 we got a piece of meat for which the desired cooking level was not appropriate (one piece was completely raw!) and both pieces were inedible. There was so much bacon and so thick that it couldn't even be cut with a knife (even a pork rind would have been more tender and tasty). The baked potato came in aluminum foil with a dip, as it should, but when I opened the potato it quickly became clear that it was still raw. It was cold and hard in the middle, so it wasn't ready to eat. After “eating” we went down to the toilet, which is also a big point of criticism. These were also very dirty and smelled. Next to the toilet there was a door open that said "staff only" and you could look inside. I hope not with those meat cutters that were visible there, right next to the toilet!! our entre-cote has been cut 🤢 All in all, I can't recommend it in any way and it's a mystery to me how something like this can get such a good rating on the internet. Preferably 0 stars (but you have to give 1) and a case for the restaurant testers!!

Very good restaurant, relaxed atmosphere and super delicious food 👍🏻😍 Portions and price are very fair. At around 6:30 p.m. on the day of our visit, music was turned on, please keep it a little quieter then the ambience also gets 5 stars 😉 we will definitely be back 😁

I can't comment on the food or service at the restaurant. We attended an event at the Waldtheater and bought something to drink and eat from you at the snack bar. We asked whether the drinks and food could be taken into the Waldtheater, and the staff at the snack bar confirmed this. When we were at the entrance to the Waldtheater, the staff kindly asked us to throw away the food and drinks. An absolute impudence, in my opinion this is fraud. You definitely won't be able to welcome us as guests.

Thank you to the forest spring. The best Wiener Schnitzel outside of Vienna that I have ever eaten. With capers and anchovies. And it was plenty too. The warm potato salad goes well with it.

We arrived and were immediately warmly welcomed by a waitress. We were shown straight to our cozy table and given our menus. Pepper and salt were provided on the neat looking table. The food came after about 8-9 minutes and tasted very delicious. The price of €100 for a drink and a main course for four people each was more than ok. All in all more than satisfactory

First of all, there are 3 ways to get there by car: 1 forest theater parking lot about 300 meters walk 2 a small path not suitable for cars 3 at the large parking garage there is a barrier where you can ring the bell and tell the reason (walking difficulties) drive in front of the car. The inn is the most beautiful thing I have seen in the Vogtland so far, the food is great, the cake department is gigantic, the service is very good, the asparagus dishes are not cheap but very good, my roast pork with Bremen dumplings is beautifully presented on a blue plate.

We stopped by the forest spring as part of a long weekend. The forest spring in front is a beautiful building in a good location. Unfortunately, the quality of the food there is not recommended at all (lukewarm, meat fried dry, vegetables overcooked, ready-made sauce for the pasta and not a nice presentation on the plates). The service was rather unmotivated, only understood German poorly, advice was hardly possible and the complaints were not addressed.

I was completely impressed by the Waldquelle restaurant in Bad Elster and I can only warmly recommend it. Everything is just right here... from the cozy atmosphere to the friendly service to the excellent food. The ambience of the restaurant is very lovingly designed, with lots of wood and natural elements, which creates a pleasant feel-good atmosphere. The service is extremely attentive and courteous, you really feel like you are in good hands here. But the absolute highlight of the restaurant is definitely the food. The menu offers a wide range of dishes, all freshly prepared and of high quality. I've tried several dishes and was completely impressed every time. Particularly noteworthy are the seasonal specialties, which are always freshly and creatively prepared. The drinks menu also leaves nothing to be desired, with a large selection of fine wines, beers and non-alcoholic drinks. All in all, I can fully recommend the Waldquelle restaurant in Bad Elster. Everything is just right here - from the service to the ambience to the food. Definitely worth a visit!

The food was above average at very fair prices, the staff was very attentive, quick and friendly. The location and ambience are also very nice. The whole thing is completed by a selected wine list that has really been thought through. You have to note that the kitchen closes relatively early, but it is also a health resort. Definitely a clear recommendation!

Excellent cafe where you can also get snacks. In the middle of the forest and only accessible on foot. No parking problems. Is fully recommended.

This restaurant is beautiful and in a really quiet location. Approximately 5 minutes walk from the street. The quality of the food really matches the price. It was really tasty and the portions were okay for the price. The staff is very friendly and special requests for food are catered for. Children would like something extra. Really recommended.

I have never experienced such rude service anywhere. The lady with the long blonde hair completely destroyed the actually wonderful atmosphere. Before we could even order the food, we left because of this employee's behavior.

I was in rehab here for five weeks and often stopped by the beautiful Waldquell restaurant, usually after a long hike. The staff is really very nice and accommodating, requests are almost read from your lips. It's a really dog-friendly restaurant and the food and drinks are just great. Thank you very much for your hospitality, we will definitely be back.

Für den tollen Spielplatz hat man nicht mal ein Stück Zewa für die Rutschen übrig. Ohne Naturtheater und Waldspielsplatz aus Steuergeldern wäre das Ambiente nicht vorhanden.

Das warme Essen war gut und frisch zubereitet. Was man von den angeblich frischen zubereiten Waffeln nicht behaupten kann. Die waren aus der Packung. Schade.

Ein sehr schönes Lokal,mit freundlichem Personal. Das Essen war wie immer super! Die Bedienung fragte mehrmals nach Getränken und ob das Essen geschmeckt hat. Wir waren schon öfter hier und es ist immer wieder spitze.

Meine Lieblingsgaststätte , man ist immer herzlich willkommen. Ob warme Küche oder nur zu Kaffee und Kuchen dort lässt man sich verzaubern. Schönes Ambiente.

Albert-Torte und Kaffee am Nachmittag waren sehr gut, allerdings war die Bedienung unterirdisch und fast schon unverschämt. Beim Bestellen fühlte ich mich, als würde ich die Mitarbeiterinnen belästigen, und beim Bezahlen wurde es so richtig grenzwertig: Ich wollte mit Karte bezahlen und wurde daraufhin unfreundlich gefragt, ob ich kein Bargeld dabei hätte. Eine solche Frage finde ich unangemessen in einem Restaurant mit einem Schild „Bar- und Kartenzahlung“. Als ich sagte, ich möchte lieber mit Karte bezahlen, hieß es, das sei bei einer solchen Summe für das Restaurant unpraktisch. Als ich darauf bestand, wurde plötzlich darauf hingewiesen, dass Kartenzahlung erst ab 10 Euro möglich sei - auf dem Schild stand davon nichts. Es gab auch kein Bedauern für die Umstände oder Ähnliches, nur das Gefühl, dass die Servicekräfte mich loswerden wollten. Kurzum: Der schlimmste Service seit langer Zeit, deshalb keinen Stern für Service. Schade, dass in diesem schönen Restaurant mit recht anständigem Essen (hatte auch schon mal eine Kleinigkeit abends gegessen) der Service so grauenhaft ist. Eigentlich wollte ich während meiner Reha gerne gelegentlich zum Abendessen und mit einer Freundin zum Kuchenessen kommen. Da werde ich nun doch eher nach Alternativen suchen.

Sehr idyllisch gelegene Gaststätte mit historischem Flair. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Essen lecker. Toll ist die Lage im Wald direkt neben dem Naturtheater. Unbedingt reservieren, wenn man vor einem Konzert hier speisen möchte. Immer gern wieder. Man bekommt übrigens auch warme Speisen, wenn man 15 Uhr Mittagessen möchte. Perfekt für eine spontane Einkehr. Sehr schöner Spielplatz neben dem Lokal.

Das Ambiente ist hier wirklich toll, idyllisch gelegen und nebendran ist ein sehr schöner, großer Spielplatz. Wir waren hier mit einem Kleinkind. Leider ist auf der Karte (bis auf Pommes) gar nichts für Kinder dabei. Auf meine Frage, ob ich für unser Kind Kartoffeln mit etwas Lachs haben könnte, wurde mit Augenrollen und patzigen Gegenfragen reagiert. Das ist auch mein größter Kritikpunkt: die Bedienung war einfach unfreundlich. Mein Essen, ein Wiener Schnitzel (Kalb) für 25€, war total zäh. Das darf bei einem Kalbsschnitzel nicht sein. Ich hab dies der Bedienung auch mitgeteilt, aber außer einem "Aha, ok" kam nichts. Geht gar nicht, so ein Service ist unterirdisch! Ich hab kein neues Schnitzel erwartet, aber wenigstens eine Entschuldigung. Für diesen schlechten Service und die mangelnde Qualität des Essens, sind die Preise absolut ungerechtfertigt. Weiter zum Thema Preis: eine kleine Saftschorle (0,3l) kostet 4,40€! Für das Ambiente 2 Sterne, sonst in keinster Weise empfehlenswert. Schade, habe mich bei einem Restaurantbesuch schon lange nicht mehr so geärgert.

Das Entrecôte (auf der Rechnung Entricot geschrieben) mit Folienkartoffel und Salat kostet für 200 Gramm 28,90 Euro. Leider hat die Bedienung vergessen zu fragen, wie ich das Fleisch möchte und sie hat auch den Salat vergessen. Da wir sie erst beim Abräumen wiedergesehen haben, habe ich gefragt, was mit dem Salat ist. Ausser eine Entschuldigung ist ihr hierzu nichts eingefallen. Schade! Tolles Ambiente - der Rest für diesen Preis Naja! Antwort auf den untenstehenden Text: Ein kleiner Salat kostet in Ihrem Haus 6,90 Euro. Und auch jetzt kein Wort wie Sie den Schaden ersetzten wollen! Es kann doch nicht sein, das eine Bedienung nicht auf die Idee kommt, dann eventuell einen Kaffe oder anderes anzubieten und zumindestens den Salat von der Rechnung abzuziehen!

Wunderschönes Restaurant mit sehr gutem gradezu edlem Essen zu wirklich fairen Preisen. Der Service is super und die Umgebung wunderschön. Rundum toll und auch für einen romantischen Anlass sehr schön. Für uns gab es maishänchen geräucherten entesalat Fasan und desert.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Was überhaupt nicht lustig war ist, daß unser Kellner kaum Deutsch konnte und ich etwas Falsches bekommen hatte als bestellt und 2 mal hat etwas gefehlt, sodass sich alles verzögert hatte. An sich ist die ganze Anlage sehr idyllisch gelegen umringt von Wald, einem anliegenden schönen Spielplatz und dem Naturtheater.

Ein sehr altes und mit Liebe geführtes Restaurant in einem Wald. Das Essen ist sehr gut und das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Schweinebraten...dicke ,schwarze Pampe als Soße.Darunter ein Stück billiges Fleisch ohne Kruste versteckt...geht gar nicht.

Sehr gutes Essen, leider war die Bedienung unfreundlich und genervt weil wir mit Karte bezahlen wollten. Über Mimik und Gestik zeigte sie uns ihren Unmut darüber. Empfehlung: Schönes Ausflugslokal im Wald, zu Fuß gut erreichbar von Bad Elster aus! Wir haben draußen gegessen und die Atmosphäre genossen. Am Service gab es nichts zu bemängeln, wir wurden sehr freundlich bedient. Die Portionen sind üppig, man sollte Hunger mitbringen. Viele Portionen kann man aber auch als kleinere und kostengünstigere Seniorenportionen bestellen, was eine gute Idee ist. Die Preise sind moderat, das Essen ist 1-A! Insbesondere die Burger sind zu empfehlen! Kartenzahlung ist möglich, Tisch sollte man telefonisch reservieren. Jederzeit wieder!

Das Essen ist gut, aber die Kellner könnten freundlicher und engagierter sein. Die Preise sind etwas gehobener, aber dafür sind die Gerichte wenigstens frisch und lecker. Der Gang zur Toilette wird eher als Lager benutzt glaube ich, was nicht ansprechend war. Ebenfalls ist die Toilette selbst sehr dreckig gewesen! Ich hoffe, dass es in der Küche anders ist!

Sehr schönes Fleckchen im Wald, Bedienung freundlich, aber nicht entsprechend gekleidet, Steak zäh, Portion eher schmal, insgesamt überteuert, trotzdem nett und bekommt zweite Chance. Toilette für Ältere und eingeschränkt Gehfähige gefährlich zu erreichen.
