Forsthaus-Schänke in Bad Elster

Hello, the food was good so far. The service, well, could have been friendlier. This was my second time there. There weren't many customers at first, but when it came time to pay, the waitress snapped at the first customer, telling him to give them small change, as she didn't have any change. Unbelievable, this continued with other customers, including me. I asked if I could pay by card, and the answer was no. Cash is the only option, I was told. Not appropriate these days. 😡🤨

Please see for yourself. The food is great, the hospitality is superb. Grumpy people always have something to complain about!!!

Good service and delicious food

If you like unfriendly service and unwilling staff, this is the place for you. Among other things, you were yelled at by the lady because you were waiting for her in two different places at the counter (she wasn't there for a while and you didn't know where you were allowed to sit). The Easter menu couldn't be found on the menu, so my mother-in-law dared to look for it. This was met with incomprehension and impudence. Even the well-intentioned suggestion that the card was missing was met with the greatest displeasure. Finally, you dared to stand up from your seat and discreetly ask for payment for everyone. When they saw me, there was a gruff “Are you looking for something?” from the counter. You can't pay with an EC card here because "only cash is true." New guests considered sitting outside and commented so. But the lady pointed out in a corresponding tone that they weren't allowed to do that. It's also a long (extra) way out of there, which is increased by the fact that you feel like you bring out each glass individually (to a table of three) instead of transporting everything you need on a tray. Well, definitely not recommended, even if the location certainly has a certain potential.

The forester's lodge is very quaint and very clean. The service is very friendly and attentive. The food is all homemade and tastes delicious. Highly recommended.

Price performance is top, good home cooking, coffee and home-baked cakes are also available at lunch and afternoon. Waiting times are completely normal, the food is freshly cooked and that's just not possible, you should bring a little time with you. Nice and quiet location on the edge of Bad Elster.

The food is fresh (e.g. roulade with baked dumplings, goulash or pike perch), tastes A1. The salads are crisp and the drinks are well tempered. Very happy again.

Very unfriendly, wanted to order food at 1:45 p.m., warm food was advertised until 2:00 p.m. - statement: how am I supposed to do that now, I'm alone. The sound makes the music! If this had been communicated in a friendly manner, it wouldn't have been a problem at all, as already written, the kitchen was open until 2 p.m.

A bit hidden, but easy to reach. Beautifully located in the forest, you can enjoy nature with coffee and cake or other things. The house is cozy, there are many plants that are lovingly cared for and decorations to discover. The coffee tastes good, but I can't comment on the food.

We'd love to come back because everything was great.😋

Extremely unfriendly, sauce for fries costs extra, food was not tasty and no hygiene. I'll never eat/drink there again.

Rustic restaurant feeling. Admirable landlady who does everything as a one-woman operation. I felt comfortable. Had very tasty game goulash. Small menu, but not possible other than 1 person operation. It was a nice hiking break. Parking spaces in front of the door, cats in the house. My dog ​​was fine with it.

We were there for coffee and cake. Very cozy and very tasty. Definitely worth a visit. By car or on foot through the forest, no problem. Large parking lot.

Sehr nette kleine Gaststätte. Sie ist leicht zufinden. Sie liegt ca 15min zu Fuß vom Park entfernt. Das Essen schmeckt. Ich kann die Schänke nur empfehlen.

Klein und gemütlich! Das Essen war gut und ausreichend. Leider hat die Servicekraft völlig unnötig Hektik verbreitet. Vielleicht organisiert man für die Zukunft eine zusätzliche Servicekraft,um auch alle Gäste bewirten zu können und diese nicht weg geschickt werden müssen,obwohl ausreichend Platz vorhanden war.... Deswegen leider nur 4 Sterne....

Sehr leckeres Essen, freundliche Bedienung. Der Außenbereich ist sehr klein, was ich bei "Forsthaus" jetzt nicht erwartet hätte. Ich hatte Glück, aber es lohnt sich, zu reservieren.

Bedienung wahr freundlich. Alles wahr sauber und es ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Essen ist gut vogtländisch, hat noch ein kleines bisschen Luft nach oben. Aber ansonsten eigentlich ganz gut.

Gutes Preis /Leistungsverhältnis, nette Bedienung die allein aber angemessen schnell bedient hat.

Das Essen ist sehr empfehlenswert und schmeckt sehr lecker...Aber das war es dann auch schon mit dem Positiven. Die Bedienung ist weder kompetent noch Kritikfähig und wirkt durchgehend gestresst. Dadurch werden die Wünsche sowie andere Bedürfnisse eines Gastes dezent ignoriert. Kleiner Tipp noch: Wiederholt so oft wie möglich das Essen. Es könnte nämlich sein, dass der Weg der Bedienung in die Küche zurück das Kurzzeitgedächtnis überlastet. Manche Sachen sind einfach einmalig.

Gemütlich und freundliche Bedienung

Auch wenn es von außen eher unscheinbar aussieht, dass Essen überzeugt auf ganzer Linie. Sehr gute Hausmannskost, sehr frisch zubereitet (von der Chefin) hübsch angerichtet ohne Schnickschnack. Auf Kaffee und Kuchen zum Abschluss sollte man keinesfalls verzichten! Es wird täglich frisch gebacken. Auch der Service war sehr freundlich und das Ambiente gemütlich und sauber. (Kein unangenehmer Küchengeruch)
