Waldrestaurant Schiesshaus in Nürnberg

The food was delicious and the service was friendly. We had shoulder of pork. The meat was tender and practically fell off the bone. The crust was crispy, but without any fear of losing your teeth – just as it should be! The service staff was very friendly, accommodating, and on the ball. I'd love to come back!

Beautiful location - especially for celebrations

Good food, friendly and attentive service

There were eight of us, including a dog. All nine of us were very satisfied. The dog was given water first. All the food we ordered arrived promptly and was delicious. We'd be happy to return. The only thing that could be improved is the wine spritzer.

We were invited to a wedding and spent the entire day there. The ambiance and garden are truly stunning—perfect for a celebration. The staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout the day, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The buffet was good and varied. Since it was served by a single server, there were occasional waits. Perhaps a self-service buffet would be a good idea, as the space would be large enough for that. Overall, though, it was a lovely setting with good food and great service.

The service was extremely unfriendly. They yelled at us a lot, asking why we were sitting further back, and then simply refused to serve us. Very disappointing!

A truly beautiful location in the forest with a beer garden, shooting range, and super delicious food! I recently DJed there at a wedding, and I highly recommend it for that occasion as well! 🥳 The service, especially for me as a DJ, left a lot to be desired. Despite asking for drinks every now and then, I wasn't served once. It's a shame, as I couldn't really leave my seat and therefore always had to send someone over. But otherwise, everything was very, very good! 🤘🏻😎

We were with a wedding party at the Schießhaus forest restaurant and were absolutely thrilled. The historic building is not only architecturally appealing, but also lends a wonderful ambiance to the event. The service was warm, attentive, and professional from the very beginning – we felt in excellent hands. The food was outstanding, top-quality, and a true highlight in terms of taste. A thoroughly enjoyable evening – highly recommended!

The staff is very friendly. You never have to wait long for your order and you're served promptly. The food is high-quality, fresh, and delicious. The prices are perfectly reasonable and justifiable. We celebrated our wedding there on June 28, 2025, and were extremely satisfied. The personal advice and consideration of our wishes were the foundation for our successful wedding day. The lunch buffet was extremely varied and offered something for all guests. The service was not only friendly but also prompt and very keen to fulfill our guests' wishes. We highly recommend the Schiesshaus for celebrations of all kinds, and for regular restaurant visits anyway.

The service was unfriendly, especially from a young blonde lady. But it could also have been due to the heat.

Only visited the Biergarten, staff was very friendly and helpful. Service is very good and very fast, food was excellent. Do make sure to reserve a table, especially on weekends.

Staff and service were very attentive and polite. Everything was top-notch! I had a mixed salad with chicken breast strips and was very disappointed! Just some leaf lettuce, most of which was iceberg lettuce, the chicken strips, and two small slices of baguette – no cucumbers, carrots, or anything else… I would have expected a bit more for just under €15. A real shame :(

I was here for lunch and for a wedding. The service was excellent and fast. The dumplings were hard inside, like warmed-up instant dumplings, but the shoulder of pork was fantastic. I haven't had anything this good in a long time. The dessert was good too. Everything at the wedding was perfect, both the food and the service.

We were invited as guests to a wedding. Right in the middle of the forest, in a beautiful setting with shade! Beautiful buildings with plenty of space. We checked the memory card. They had practically everything Hades could want at reasonable prices. A family business with a friendly owner and very nice staff!

However, prices have continued to rise significantly. A Schäuferla (a kind of pork shoulder) at just under €20 is quite substantial. The starter salad, at €8.90, is also considered above average, given the manageable amount. Conclusion: Still a very good address for good, home-style cooking with a very nice beer garden on the outskirts of Nuremberg. Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience with the boss's father. He was an absolutely grumpy, bad-tempered, unfriendly man who clearly doesn't know how to treat guests. It's a shame, because otherwise it would be very nice there. But as a guest, you don't have to put up with such rude behavior from a bad-tempered older man.

The place is for celebrations, for young people there is a playground, for old people there is the opportunity to go for a walk, for everyone there is mini golf, delicious food, great service and a wonderful ambience without parking worries, conveniently located......try it out and you will be amazed.

I'm not a fan of currywurst from the deep fryer, as it's not particularly healthy or tasty. The fries were extremely thin and crispy. Hard to get on the fork. Only the sauce was tasty. For €13.90, not what I expected.

On the occasion of our wedding, we decided to celebrate our wedding here. The Waldrestaurant Schießhaus offers enough space to celebrate, both in the restaurant and outside with a very nice beer garden area. If you need help decorating, this is also available. The large meadow area around the restaurant can also be used for celebrating, as was the case with us. The food, which was discussed in advance, was first class. There wasn't a single guest who didn't praise the food! Even though everyday business was in full swing, the service was polite and available at all times to take and implement orders. Dear Chris, we would like to thank you and your great team once again for doing everything you can to make our most beautiful day a wonderful memory. Dass das nette Restaurant "etwas" in die Jahre gekommen ist und dringend einer Renovierung bedürfte steht ausser Frage. ABER dass es hier noch eine Waldgaststätte gibt, wie es früher üblich war, ist einfach schön. Man sitzt ganz gemütlich unter Bäumen, hat eine sehr grosse Auswahl an Getränken und die Speisekarte hat von Currywurst, über "Obatzter" bis Braten für jeden etwas. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. Für uns ist dieses Lokal ein wirklich toller Biergarten. In den Innenräumen würden wir uns, nicht wohlfühlen.

We hadn't made a reservation and were rudely informed of the need. After the garden was half empty, we were lucky enough to get a place. Currywurst was tasty, but not that cheap.

Nice location in the forest, but everything is getting old... the waitress is friendly but a bit assertive. Food just average. Unfortunately there is hardly anything for vegetarians. It was simply too expensive for that.

We were guests at a family celebration with around 50 people. Basically, everything in the forest shooting house is a bit “worn” and has been for many years. The facade is washed out, weeds are growing through the cracks, the soap dispensers are stuck in the toilets. The food is definitely average. There is probably a lot of convenience (salad sauce, gravy, chocolate mousse). Unfortunately there are too few staff here either. One employee for food and one employee for drinks leads to longer waiting times. If you want to get the drinks yourself from the bar, you will be informed in a Franconian “polite” manner that the service will be there soon. All in all, you didn't miss anything here.

Very attentive and friendly service, delicious food and wonderful ambience❗️However, there was a setback (hence only 4 stars): For €13.50 you can get a VERY tasty schnitzel, but for the same €13.50 you can get a portion of Obazder❓️The portion was large, but the price is disproportionate. Even in the (not cheap) Erlanger beer garden, the Obazder only costs €8.80... But we'd be happy to come back, despite this little irritation.

We had asked whether it would be possible to order a selection of 4 dishes for a total of 21 people three days later. We found the way we were treated by the owner to be subterranean. We had the impression that we were a nuisance to him. We had agreed to bring a list by 5 p.m. so we could pick up the order the next day. We found the behavior to be extremely unfriendly. No interest in serving us at all. We will NEVER set foot in this restaurant with our customers again, let alone place an order. All we can do is shake our heads in frustration. Anyone interested in being disappointed can probably have the same experience!

I was there for a wedding this weekend. The inn is wonderfully secluded in the middle of the forest. The food was very good, the staff was very friendly and on the ball. The prices are absolutely right as I could see on the menu in front of the door. There is also a lot for children to discover and you can also go for a nice walk. Parking spaces are directly at the inn.

The lamb's lettuce was sensational! For the main course I had the pork fillet tips in pepper cream with spaetzle. They were ok, but I wouldn't eat them again. The beer garden is nice, there is a playground and a large lawn, but everything is in need of renovation.

Friendly service, nice atmosphere, the food comes quickly - but unfortunately it's terrible. Meatballs inedible (cartilaginous white meat, fishy), potato salad sour and almost certainly bought ready-made - just like the schnitzels: all 4 of the same size and flat. Everything had a strong fishy taste. Far too expensive for that. Positive: Beautifully located in the countryside with a playground.

We celebrated confirmation in the Schiesshaus with 30 guests. The location with a renovated interior, benches outside as well as a playground for the little ones and mini golf for young people is unbeatable when the weather is nice. The food and service were good. And the vegetarians were also impressed.

After a long time we were here again today. We liked it very much! I would particularly like to highlight the fresh, crunchy, apparently homemade salads with the great dressing! Very friendly service and a beautiful beer garden in the middle of the countryside. We'd love to come back!

We celebrated my birthday almost a week ago in the Waldgaststätte Schießhaus in Nuremberg Erlenstegen and were very satisfied. The great advice in advance from Mr. Baumann was great. The day itself was very nice, everything was as discussed and special requests were no problem. The food tasted great and was well seasoned all around (at this point, kudos to the kitchen again, I've rarely had such a delicious potato salad). The waitress assigned to us was more than attentive. We didn't miss anything! Thank you for this beautiful day, which made my birthday perfect. We are happy to recommend others and are happy to come back again and again.

We have celebrated large and small family celebrations there several times. Our church wedding yesterday. And once again everything was perfect! Service, ambience, food, flexibility everything was just great! It certainly wasn't the last celebration!
