A very upscale hotel, quiet, large rooms, great service. The reception is extremely competent. The breakfast was amazing. The restaurant is simply elegant and has a very, very good quality. The service there is perfect. You feel very comfortable in this hotel!!

Great hotel for a transit trip to explore the area. Dog friendly, even at breakfast. You can walk straight into the forest right next to the hotel. Good sauna & steam bath available. Sauna is spacious, massage chair is highly recommended! The food is also excellent, the burgers are bizarrely large Breakfast good Staff very friendly.

Great room, bathroom is a bit dated. Very clean. Room adjacent to the parking lot sometimes caused some noise pollution. Excellent breakfast, but on Sunday the croissants were already gone at 9.30 am. Also no more boiled eggs, but they were replenished upon request. A very small menu for dinner, so we dined elsewhere. Also no lunch menu. Near an entrance to the Panorama cycle route. And also plenty of walking opportunities. We had to ask for walking and cycling routes.

There is a deduction for the very warm room (despite it being 7° outside) but luckily there is a fan in the room ;-). For absolutely bad WiFi (a speed test is included) and for a breakfast price of a whopping €21! I also liked the connection between the bathroom and the hotel room (you have to be very careful with a 1.90m person). Otherwise the rooms are clean.

Very tastefully and stylishly decorated hotel, a very good addition to Fletcher. Good food, friendly staff and a nice breakfast in the garden in the morning sun. You have to pay extra for the sauna, €12 per person, so don't go before or after dinner, as a result of which you are the only one even though it is great. The village is not much, but the area is great for walking or cycling

We had a maisonette, everything was very neat. It was extremely hot in the room as well as in the restaurant and lobby! Ate in the restaurant, it was very good. Friendly staff, with one exception: the guy who was probably in charge of the rest there was very impersonal. The area is very suitable for walks or other activities.

Fletcher Heiligenhaus room 26 - [ ] Reception fine - [ ] Restaurant fine, although the price/quality ratio is not right (too expensive for what you get). Staff can still learn a lot, but is friendly. The chef of the restaurant earns his salary by doing nothing. - [ ] There are apparently new chairs in the restaurant, they should have felt pads under them. You can hear the chairs throughout the hotel, our room was above the restaurant and it is very noisy. - [ ] Room was spacious and neat. Bed is very soft and all the pillows that were there were worthless. So a pain in the neck because of this. - [ ] As soon as you enter the room there is no light at the door. Not safe! - [ ] Climate in the room is a disaster. It is much too warm and you can't adjust anything. Opening the windows all night didn't help either. - [ ] Bathroom is large, but very outdated. The joints between the tiles on the floor are missing (not very hygienic). The stopper of the sink does not work. The shower cabin is 10 cm higher than the floor, so a lot of water nuisance. The cabin itself is too small, you can't really turn around and a little extra handle doesn't help. - [ ] Tissues and hygiene bags were gone on arrival, were not replenished after cleaning, but the friendly man at the reception solved it. - [ ] Final conclusion: nicely located, nice reception and large room, but there are quite a few points for improvement. 5.5/10

We spent a few nice days here. Unfortunately the beer garden was still closed as it was 20 degrees. But luckily we were able to just sit there. There was just no service there. By German standards, the prices of food and drinks are too high. Staff is super friendly, rooms are fine. Everything is spotless. Environment is beautiful. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Great hotel with neat tidy room. Unfortunately they don't have a real lunch menu for a small "bite", the menu they have is very limited. The breakfast is excellent.

Hotel is good, rooms also neat, bathroom with bath, 1 disadvantage if you have difficulty walking, you have to shower in the bath. Very friendly ladies behind the reception. Ate in the hotel, the Fletcher burger was very tasty. Male waiter was less friendly. There were several couples spread out over a kind of conservatory. The waiter visited every table but skipped us every time. Finally left.

A really nice and, above all, clean room at an unbeatable price. Parking is OK. A visit to the hotel bar is also worthwhile.

Nice hotel on the edge of the forest. The bed only has 1 mattress of 160*200 and is very wobbly on wheels. And due to interference, no channels on TV. As an alternative, Chromecast could be offered, but that is not available. Wifi is also just 2 bars.

Nice hotel for a weekend away, we had a 3-course dinner and walking/cycling routes with our package, but we had to ask about the latter first. Delicious food! Clean, very spacious room. Breakfast buffet fresh, organic regional products and mega choice. Staff very friendly. Hotel is located at the end of Panorama Radweg, most sights are a bit of a bike ride away. At night our e-bikes were allowed in the locked garage of the hotel.

Perfect hotel in a residential area. You have to get in the car for shops or restaurants, but we came for the hotel and it was fantastic. The hotel restaurant was perfect and very atmospheric. We were amazed at the hotel. Everything was as beautiful or even more beautiful than expected. Luxurious spacious room with good beds, desk, sitting area for 2, TV and sofa and beautiful large bathroom with double sink. Brushing your teeth comfortably next to each other :).

We were there last week and we are very happy and satisfied with it.. room/bathroom is very clean, no black spots or anything, just like in the other hotels. Location is also good, close to Wuppertal, Essen.. we will definitely come back to this hotel.

Quiet location, room clean and good size thanks to the extra door to the small hallway you didn't hear anything from other guests. Unfortunately the TV didn't work for the whole 3 days and they kept saying there were technical problems "today" and it was our turn to fix it... and it should work again now. I would have liked to have been more honest about the fact that there have probably been problems for a long time. The staff was also visibly annoyed by the questions. Every evening the room card was also logged out, which was a bit annoying. Breakfast was good but not exceptional either. The restaurant in the hotel was practical, where we could even dine spontaneously without a reservation. The food there was okay in terms of taste but only lukewarm, it had a bit of canteen food, I would have expected a little more from the restaurant. So there's still room for improvement in all areas for us, but it's definitely okay for a few days.

Unfortunately, simply terrible! My overnight stay in transit at Fletchers Waldhotel Heiligenhaus in January 2025 was extremely unpleasant and even terrible in several respects. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel and have rarely slept so badly. It started when the really rigid and incredibly unfriendly lady at reception gave me a room half the size of the one I booked with Booking.com! A 10sqm monastery cell with a small window. When I had discovered this and was back at the reception, the lady repeated, horrified: "What?! At that price?!" in the direction of her colleague because the price from Bookin.com obviously seemed too cheap to her. No apologies for the mix-up and my dragging back and forth. On the contrary, she scolded me for using the toilet after my long journey. Very reluctantly I finally got another room. I was completely irritated by this behavior. I have never experienced such unprofessional, rude behavior towards guests and a downgrade of the room category by the receptionist! The room I got was twice as big, but most of the amenities listed in the room description were missing or broken. The worst thing, however, was that the room was completely overheated, to around 26°C, and despite completely turning off the heating and extensive cross-ventilation, this couldn't be remedied. It wasn't because the ancient minibar, which I urgently needed to keep something cool, wasn't cold in the slightest after two hours, but it did heat up the room significantly. I had to throw away my things. The room remained overheated and since it was storming and raining heavily outside, I couldn't sleep with the window wide open. So I had to get up every few hours to ventilate the room again because the room kept heating up. Really extremely unpleasant. All in all, the hotel and the rooms are very old. The bed was old and soft. The bathroom was from the 1990s and made of hard plastic, the temperature in the shower was difficult to adjust and fluctuated greatly. The old hairdryer just wheezed. The TV had a streaming function, but was not connected to the Internet. There was a capsule coffee machine, like in many hotels these days, as well as two cheap disposable paper cups, stirring sticks and a few bags of black tea. Everything was more reminiscent of a gas station than a hotel. There was no accessible socket for the kettle - there were only two unconveniently located free sockets in the room anyway. The other equipment specified (e.g. bathrobe) was completely missing. Unfortunately, I had to go to the reception again to ask something and this time the lady became even more rude. When I finally asked her about her behavior towards me, she responded with biting irony and sarcasm. I just turned around and left. The hotel really has a serious problem with this employee. I didn't want to try the restaurant in this atmosphere at all. Luckily I had booked the overnight stay without breakfast and was able to simply leave after a terrible sleepless night in the overheated room. The only positive thing about this stay was the friendly young man at the reception when checking out the next morning. After I briefly and honestly answered the usual question about my satisfaction, he responded in an absolutely professional manner. I feel truly sorry for these dedicated employees. It's a shame about the hotel, because it's beautifully located on the edge of the forest. But due to the employee at the reception, the obviously urgent need for repairs and modernization and the poor overall impression - all of which, by the way, does not meet German or Dutch standards - I can unfortunately absolutely NOT recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the hotel during the Christmas period 2024. We had a room in the old section/first floor. The room was clean and included all you need for a short stay (not luxury). Being on the 1st floor the roof was not even which made the room a bit depressive. I would recommend this for a tall person (I hit my head a number of times). The bathroom was new, clean and practical with able space to put your things. The floor of the shower cabin was very slippery. We had the Christmas arrangement which included dinners. The food was ok. The chef has tried to create a culinary experience with special dishes. I would have preferred the traditional Christmas dinner. A lot of the items were not to my taste and my requests were not really heard. The staff at the hotel was very friendly, helpful and polite. At the check out I realized afterwards that i was charged an extra drink that i never had. (I have heard other guests complaining about their bill and I should have looked at mine!). This is my second time to a Fletcher hotel and i am sure it will be the last!

Nice spacious rooms, wonderfully quiet and a good breakfast. What was disappointing was the fact that we could not take a shower as there was no hot water. We also wanted to go to the sauna, but if you can't take a proper shower afterwards and still want to go out afterwards, that's not nice, so what we were looking forward to didn't happen. The woman at the reception responded in a rather laconic and irritated manner. No compensation was offered either. Too bad... a missed opportunity and not very customer-oriented, even if it was a drink for the inconvenience. This was a disappointment on what could have been 5 stars and we actually thought this was unacceptable, you should be able to shower properly. It was room 50.

My stay at Fletcher Waldhotel Nordrhein-Westfalen was absolutely perfect! From the moment I walked in, I immediately felt welcome. The staff is incredibly friendly, professional and attentive, and ensures that you lack nothing. The service is truly of top quality. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and equipped with all amenities. The bed was wonderful and I enjoyed a great night's sleep. The interior exudes a warm and modern atmosphere, which immediately gave a feeling of relaxation. The restaurant was also fantastic! The breakfast was very extensive with fresh products and delicious coffee. The dinner was of culinary excellence - compliments to the chef! The location of the hotel is truly beautiful, surrounded by the peace and nature of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is an ideal place to relax or to enjoy the many walking and cycling routes in the area. The atmosphere around the hotel is calm and soothing, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In short, Fletcher Waldhotel Nordrhein-Westfalen exceeded my expectations. This hotel is highly recommended and I will definitely return here. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Just opened, still have a lot to learn, I don't have a good word to say about the restaurant. The organization is sloppy all around, the bills are incorrect, and it is an expensive place. The breakfast was also very good.

A nice hotel in a beautiful area. We had a package for 2 nights with breakfast and 1 main course. We had a really delicious meal (wienerschnitzel and steak). And drank a delicious wine with it. The breakfast was also really good. In short, highly recommended

I can only write a review for the restaurant because we celebrated a 90th birthday here. We sat in the beautiful winter garden and the atmosphere was very pleasant. There was a champagne reception in the beautiful garden. The food was very good, the individual courses were served exactly to the minute as agreed. Overall, the service was very quick and attentive. The Chinese employee deserves special mention, as she was extremely friendly, very hard-working and professional. Overall, it was a successful evening in beautiful surroundings.

Were there for your wedding and were married in a civil ceremony. Food was very good. Drinks took a while. The registrar did a great job. Nice environment. On-site parking. All friendly. I can only recommend it. Get married in paradise

The hotel has just been handed over to the new owner and not everything is in place yet. But everything was resolved with kindness and commitment for the benefit of the guest. For example, WiFi wasn't working yet but work was being done on it. Breakfast was excellent in terms of selection and quality. The automatic locking cylinders on the room doors had battery problems - but they took care of it very nicely. Hospitality was lived and the rest will surely fall into place.

Overall, a decent hotel, although there are reductions in amenities and, due to the change in ownership (now Fletcher Hotels), also in service. The Waldhotel is in a very quiet location, although somewhat unusually, right on the edge of a residential area. Nevertheless, it is very relaxing to hike in nature here in the Ruhr area. The fitness studio is included, but the equipment dates back to the 20th century and is therefore only suitable for intensive training to a limited extent. You have to have it unlocked at reception first. We didn't go to the wellness area, but it would have cost €12 per day per person and didn't look very modern either. The room was missing the usual information about the hotel, such as the prices of the minibar, the hotel's offers and, most importantly, that room cleaning only takes place upon request. This was explained by the change of ownership. Unfortunately, this explanation was only given upon request, so our room was not cleaned. The hotel did not offer any accommodation. Rather, it was pointed out that you could have asked about this at reception. The hotel restaurant has a beautiful outdoor area, with a very limited selection of dishes. The service also didn't seem very experienced. The food itself was ok and the prices weren't cheap but not too expensive either. For salad, we would recommend ordering the vinaigrette separately, otherwise the salad will drown. The restaurant can be an alternative for the guest. However, you don't have to eat here several times in a row. Conclusion: Once the ownership change is fully completed and the hotel has been modernized a bit, it could be quite nice. In the meantime, however, guests could be accommodated for their inconvenience.

At the “Waldhotel zu Heiligenhaus” romantic weddings are simply a “must have”. The path of the future married couples leads over the large garden stairs to the beautiful pavilion. With large, old trees and modern interior design, a wedding ceremony like in the film is possible here. The pavilion itself offers space for around 25 guests. If there are a little more, there is still enough space on the round seats. Pure romance emerges here from the first moment.

Chic hotel! Compliments to my colleagues on how the house was modernized into the next generation with great attention to detail without losing its charm! Location super quiet and slept very well!

A bit old fashioned (but spacious) rooms however, it is super clean and quiet. You can sleep here like a baby. They also have very nice mid size pillows not like other hotels with the giant ones. Very cossy after all. Nice view from the window to the forest. Also lots of nature around. Friendly staff. They speak English very well. Very good breakfast. Absolute bargain!

We were there for brunch and it was quite good, nothing more but nothing less. The breakfast part was a bit lean and there was a problem with refilling, but the lunch part was really good, but here too the selection could have been a little more extensive. If you want to rate value for money, 3.5 rather than 4 stars. There were enough parking spaces and it was easy to find directions. Nice gimmick, they hid eggs and chocolate for the children in the spacious garden for Easter.

Very nice and well-maintained hotel. Very, very good cuisine 🙂

The first impression is great. The reception hall is large, bright and elegantly decorated. The counter is staffed by friendly staff, check-in was quick and uncomplicated, and we were even given a card for the in-house restaurant. The rather high prices suggested high quality standards. Well, and then came the room. You can easily get by with it for a few days, but the quality is far behind the lobby. There is a massive investment backlog here. The carpet between the meeting rooms and the rooms looks very out of date. The room was either rarely rented/used or poorly cleaned. The shower drain was musty, there were silverfish in the bathroom, the bathroom fittings were wobbly, the water temperature was inconsistent, there were no USB sockets on the bed, the furniture itself seemed rather old and also had flaws, the TV was definitely old, small, poor picture quality, the room does not have a comprehensive power switch. As an environmentally conscious guest, I hung up my towels to continue using them. The cleaning staff made the bed and took away the towels that had been hung up without leaving any new ones. As a guest, I can't do anything about it. The breakfast was really tasty. With fresh coffee and a wide selection of teas, rolls, croissants, bacon, sausages and eggs, yoghurts, cold cuts, sweets and fruit. However, it is quite thin for vegetarians. There are many different types of sausage, but no vegetarian alternatives. So only three types of cheese remain. There is actually nothing for vegans apart from jam and fruit.

The Waldhotel Heiligenhaus is an absolutely recommended hotel. Whether for overnight stays or conferences, for celebrations and events or just for a nice evening in the "Blattwerk" restaurant - I have never had a negative experience here. Quite the opposite: My personal expectations at the Waldhotel were often exceeded. The rooms are tidy and clean, the breakfast is very varied and the dishes I chose in the restaurant were always perfect. Apart from that, the staff there is very friendly and will do everything possible to make your stay there a great experience. I would happily recommend the Waldhotel Heiligenhaus based on my experiences there. I look forward to my next visit there.

A really nice hotel. The location is quiet and beautiful, the staff are incredibly friendly and the hotel itself is very modern and stylishly furnished. I got one of the smaller rooms with a sloping ceiling and even that is perfect. You have everything you need, it is clean, nicely furnished and despite the difficult cut, every square meter was used perfectly. Clear recommendation, whether for business or vacation!

Were only there for a workshop. You can do this wonderfully in the pavilion.

Wir waren mit 8 Personen zum Weihnachtsbuffet im Restaurant dort. Es war sehr gemütlich. Die angebotenen Speisen waren von bester Qualität. Die Auswahl und Zusammenstellung sehr gut ausgewählt. Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Schönes Hotel in Verkehrsberuhigte Lage, Kleine Speisekarte aber sehr lecker. Super Service. Zimmer groß genug. Sauber und gemütlich.
