The food in Wagner's Restaurant was the best I've eaten so far, but 5 stars. The operation and service was top notch for 5 stars. I am absolutely not a wine drinker and was persuaded to at least try it once, it was a good decision, the wine was perfect for that too 5 stars. The ambience is historical and you don't see it every day and that's why I give it 5 stars. Thank you for the lovely evening with you. 🙂🙏

Wir waren abends 19:00 Uhr zum Essen. Reservierung hat geklappt und der Zweiertisch war schön eingedeckt. Das Ambiente in der ersten Etage war schön und farblich gut abgestimmt. Die Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte haben sehr gut geschmeckt, die Weinempfehlung harmonierte ausgezeichnet dazu. Der Service war sehr gut und das Personal sehr freundlich. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen, wir kommen sicher wieder.

Wow, we had a quick stop in Leipzig, and this restaurant made it unforgettable. The food was amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We chose this restaurant based on the online reviews. Small but nice! Only a few tables and it was good to have reservations. Very friendly service and the ambience was very appealing. The only thing that was disappointing for us was that both the saddle of venison and the duck breast were well done. Both no longer have a trace of red color, so a star deduction. But it worked and still tasted very good. The soups as starters were excellent and overall one can only say, Absolutely recommended!

A restaurant named after Richard Wagner. They will choose the recommended wine to match your meal. All the food is excellent and the wine taste is good. In summer, we also recommend seating on the terrace under the grape trees.

We went there for dinner for the second time yesterday and were again completely thrilled by the service and of course the excellent food. Every course is a culinary delight and also beautifully presented. Unbelievable when you consider that only one chef prepares this. The wine recommendation was also excellent and went perfectly with the food. We would love to come back. Big praise to both service + chef :)

It was a completely successful evening. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, she even discreetly handed me a tissue. And their wine selection hit the mark. It is the wine list. The dishes are exceptionally created and taste simply fabulous. We even managed to get a table in the afternoon on a Friday. Even though the restaurant isn't really big. The decor was stylish and pleasant. We only had problems because we were of course standing in front of the café. But to the left of the café you go through a small courtyard path into the restaurant. We will definitely come back when we are in Leipzig again.

Dieser Besuch war eine kulinarische Überraschung. Etwas versteckt, durch einen Torbogen findet man in einem alten Fachwerkhaus dieses Restaurant. Obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten, wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen und man hat uns im Obergeschoss einen Tisch angeboten. Die Speisekarte war gut sortiert, und die Auswahl versprach eine gute Küche. Eine Weinkarte gab es nicht, aber genau war gut so, denn die Empfehlung zu den ausgesuchten Gerichten durch die Chefin persönlich könnte nicht besser sein. Jedes Gericht (von Vorspeise bis Dessert) war ein Genuss. Das Team lieferte dazu den perfekten Service, und seine charmante Freundlichkeit gab es obendrein. Wenn wir wieder in Leipzig sind, kommen wir bestimmt wieder. Ein absolutes Muss. Danke an die Küche und den Service.

We come from Frankfurt am Main and made reservations based on a recommendation. The atmosphere is cute. The food was excellent. Big praise to the chef and the great service. The service was world class...the wine was delicious with the food! There is no wine list here, but rather the dish is selected first and then you get wine advice, exceptional. There were no unpleasant surprises when paying either. We would be happy to come back and recommend the restaurant.

This was our second time at Wagners as part of our vacation. We again had an excellent meal in the outdoor area of ​​the restaurant (green courtyard) (beef fillet with green asparagus, strawberry ragout and salad). Regarding the drinks, we followed the white wine recommendation and were very satisfied with it. Overall, we received very friendly and competent advice and service and can recommend Wagners without reservation.

I would give even more stars. The boss is incredibly approachable, cheerful and unpretentious, the wines always go perfectly, and the atmosphere is more than just cozy. You're always in a good mood, the minute you're there. The food is relatively expensive, unfortunately, and I sometimes have the feeling that the chef "wants" more than is necessary. Very nicely prepared dishes, but often less is more - sometimes the choice of ingredients is more show than substance. Still my favorite place in Leipzig, I drink more than I eat there ;-) But it's just TOO nice there...

Definitely an insider tip in Leipzig. Wagner's restaurant and winery was the culinary highlight of our Leipzig trip for us. Charming service, excellent cuisine, very good wine recommendations, a cozy courtyard and very moderate prices for the service (from a Munich perspective). Tip: Be sure to reserve early and, if the weather is good, choose one of the seats in the inner courtyard.

After a beautiful, very warm and sunny day in Leipzig, including the zoo, we stopped at this great restaurant in a beautiful backyard on the way back to the hotel. The reception by the waitress was very friendly. We really enjoyed the shady spot under the vines. The menu is rather small and clear but there should be something for every taste. The dishes stand out from most other restaurants not only because of the description but also because of the beautifully decorated plates and the great taste. The food was served by the chef who was very happy about the honest praise. All in all, the price was more than fair for the performance and service. It was a cozy evening in a great atmosphere without being overly aloof. We'll definitely come back when we're in town.

I went there for a drink and found it very nice under the roof made of grape leaves - everything inside was stylish and looked chic. The service was friendly and attentive. The blonde waitress is very unfriendly, she didn't want to sell us alcoholic drinks with the excuse that it was very late. I think they judge you by the color of your skin.

Unerwartete höchste Qualität und bester Service trotz widriger Umstände (Gewitter), wir kommen sehr sehr gerne wieder!

Bei sehr somerlichen Temperaturen am 29.6.haben wir im Aussenbereich, unter Weinranken einen angenehmen Abend verbracht. Unsere Vorspeisen - Carpaccio und Gurken-Lachsröllchen waren sehr gut und preiswert. An den Hauptgängen - Barramundifilet und Leipziger Allerleit kann der Koch noch etwas tüfteln, am Nebentisch wurden Hauptgänge serviert die eher rustikal und sehr bodenständig aussahen. Eine Weinkarte gibt es nicht, dafür empfiehlt die Inhaberin passende Weine zu den gewählten Speisen, die man vorab probieren kann. Es ist ratsam, nach den Weinpreisen zu fragen, uns wurde für die 0,75 L. Flasche ein Preis um 21 € genannt, auf der Rechnung standen dann € 32.-, die auf Nachfrage allerdings korrigiert wurde.

Rustige locatie maar keken uit op afval wat maar gedeeltelijk was weggewerkt achter een slordig schot. Hadden elk verschillend gerecht, gerecht met groene asperges waren de asperges zeer nat en slap. Wijn was drinken wat de bazin besliste, zonder de prijs te kennen vooraf. En wijn kwam pas nadat het hoofdgerecht op was en nadat we er zelf om gevraagd hadden. Vervolgens werd er niet aan de overige 2 tafelgenoten gevraagd of zij ook een glas wijn wilden en hebben we ook daar zelf om moeten vragen.

Actually the perfect restaurant for our taste. The food is as special as it is delicious. The location is as central as it is quiet, almost in a different microcosm - a real short vacation. And for wine lovers like us, it's a little paradise anyway. Thanks for a great evening!

This site never disappoints! Without a doubt the best coffee and the best cake in all of Leipzig! The tiramisu is a whole other level ❤️ And there is some pretty tasty typical Polish food! The service is always attentive and fast! It's nice to visit such places!

We were guests there yesterday. The restaurant is very narrow and yet cozy. The food was simply perfect from the starter to the dessert. All four plates were eaten sparkling clean. We were visitng the Leipziger Buchmesse and stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. First night we went it, we were looking for a good winebar--and boy, did we find one!!! We were immediatelly mesmerized by the atmosphere, the kind, knowledgable and hospitable staff, so we decided to book a table for dinner 2 nights later. Every dish that was brought to us was such high quality we were speechless. It was like poetry on a plate it. And the service (we were served by one of the owners) was impeccable! We would definitely come back if we are in Leipzig again.

Die wenigen Tische sind sehr dicht beieinander, aber man hat dennoch ein wenig Privatsphäre. Netter Service und endlich mal eine Gastlichkeit in der man langsam und in Ruhe speisen und genießen kann. Nicht immer husch husch, der nächste könnte ja kommen. Gut das wir vorbestellt hatten. Der empfohlene Wein war passend und sehr lecker.

After a long time we were guests again in Wagner's restaurant. The ambience, reception, service, food and wine were, as always, excellent. I happened to read a pretty bad review. Who would drive 450 km to Leipzig to eat in 30 minutes without a reservation? The gentleman should probably go eat at the yellow M, he'll be out again after half an hour. In any case, we have already reserved a table for next time and are looking forward to Chris and her great chef, the delicious wines and the great food. Keep it up!

Wir hatten Glück am Samstagabend noch spontan einen Platz zu bekommen. Einige Ideen der Küche sind etwas experimentell (Romanesco mit Litschi), aber in jedem Fall war das Fleisch (wir hatten Rinderfilet und Ochsenbäckchen) exzellent auf den Punkt gegart.

For the second time in three years, I'm passing through from Münster, 450 km away, to finally eat here. This time too, I wasn't turned away particularly friendly and didn't get a seat, even though I was alone and the restaurant was apparently far from full at 5:20 p.m. There were quite a few empty seats at the counter alone. The question as to whether they could do me a favor with a drink instead (a glass of wine?!?) or whether I might want to make a reservation for another time didn't even come up. It wasn't asked that I only had about 30 minutes to eat a dish anyway. Assuming a certain speed of service, I would have been out again at 6 p.m. They probably assumed I was blocking a table for the entire evening. As an attentive service, I ask something like that. But none of that seems to matter, I don't seem interesting as a guest here. I also can't feel the "huge joy" about my visit described on the board; I was greeted rather reservedly. “Reserved” is also the right word in this case. No expression of regret that they couldn't offer me a place. Even the slightly curt question “What can I do for you?” Frankly, it's pretty stupid, if you'll pardon the expression. I'm definitely not coming for a haircut. In short: As an individual, I probably just don't promise enough sales. I think in the end it's all about the money. It's a shame, as a trained winemaker I would have loved to finally eat here, but I don't think that will happen again in this lifetime. Unfortunately, the owner's arrogance is written all over her face. I'm sorry, Ms. Kollin, but this can be done much better, and you only seem to dose hospitality as needed, if at all.

Unser Besuch war ein Zufallstreffer für ein geschäftliches Abendessen. Die Speisekarte bietet hochwertige Küche, die auf Teller und im Gaumen nicht enttäuschte. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und persönlich. Auf Sonderwünsche meiner Gäste wurde unkompliziert eingegangen. Das Ambiente ist sehr familiär und angenehm. Wir haben uns extrem wohlgefühlt und kommen bald wieder.

Ein sehr individuelles Erlebnis und DIE Chance, einmal Saale-Unstrut Weine kennenzulernen.

Das Essen ist hervorragend und die wandelnde Weinkarte ist ebenfalls eine tolle Erfahrung! Nachdem meine Eltern einen italienischen Weinhandel hatten, waren alle in der Gruppe gespannt, wie ich auf diese „Bevormundung“ reagiere. Es ist einfach schön, einmal Verantwortung abgeben zu können;-) Auch wenn ich mit dem Plan A (Cabernet Sauvignon) nicht überlistet werden konnte. Wir alle haben uns selten in einem Restaurant so wohl gefühlt. „Hier bin ich Mensch, hier darf ich sein.“ Nur zu empfehlen!

Als Ortsfremde haben wir beschlossen dieses Lokal zu besuchen. Zunächst waren wir überrascht von der „Größe des Lokals“ und der besonderen Speisekarte. Bei der Auswahl der Gerichte half uns der frische freundliche Service mit seiner Empfehlung. Was soll ich sagen, wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sowohl die Qualität als auch die Darbietung der Gerichte waren von geschmacklicher Vielfalt, außergewöhnlichen Variationen und sehr liebevollen Details. Es wurde sich Zeit für uns genommen und man hatte die Gelegenheit einmal Weine zu probieren, die nicht aus Baden stammen. Alles in allem können wir das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen und werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Ein herzliches Dankeschön, dass wir so einen schönen Abend erleben durften.

Wir haben das Restaurant eher zufällig entdeckt, denn es versteckt sich in einem Hinterhaus. Der Eingang ist ein Tor neben dem Cafe Wagner, aber die haben nichts miteinander zu tun. Schon als wir es entdeckten waren wir begeistert, denn man kann im Sommer schön draußen sitzen. Aber auch innen macht das Restaurant was her. Es ist das schmalste Restaurant der Stadt und hat dadurch nicht viel Kapazität. Also vorbestellen ist Pflicht sonst wird es nichts mit einem lecker Essen. Originell fanden wir es, dass die Chefin die Weinkarte war 😀 Es gibt hier Weine von weniger bekannten Winzern, aber das heißt nicht, dass der Wein nicht schmeckt. Im Gegenteil der Wein war super. Die Empfehlung der Chefin kam gut an. Und dann das Essen, einfach himmlisch. Hier auch teilweise ungewöhnliche Kreationen, aber total lecker. Alles in allem war es ein sehr schöner Abend - vielen Dank.

Das es keine Weinkarte gab war kein Problem, denn so konnte man sich auf die Empfehlung einlassen. Es gab mehrere Weine zum probieren, ein israelischer ist es dann gewesen. Es wurde ein sehr kurzweiliger, unterhaltsamer Aufenthalt.

…….zu später Stunde gefunden und es hat alles gepasst. Hausgemachte leckere Zubereitung der Speisen und lebendige Weinkarte durch die originelle Chefin. Gern wieder!
