Ich würde noch mehr Sterne vergeben. Die Chefin ist unglaublich zugewandt, fröhlich und unprätentiös, die Weine passen immer perfekt, das Ambiente ist mehr als nur gemütlich. Man hat immer gute Laune, kaum ist man dort. Das Essen ist relativ hochpreisig, leider, und ich habe manchmal das Gefühl, der Koch "will" mehr als nötig ist. Sehr schön hergerichtete Speisen, bei denen aber oft weniger mehr wäre - manchmal ist die Zutatenauswahl mehr Show als Substanz. Trotzdem mein Lieblingslokal in Leipzig, ich trinke halt mehr als dass ich esse dort ;-) Aber es ist einfach ZU nett da....

Tolles Ambiente im Hinterhof mit Lichtern und kleinen Emporen zum Sitzen. Haben nicht gegessen, daher dafür keine Bewertung. Die empfohlenen Weine waren jedoch perfekt gewählt und dazu gab es sehr nette Gespräche mit der aufmerksamen Mitarbeiterin.

Zufällig in einem Hinterhof gefundenes Restaurant. Haben hier zwar nur einen Wein getrunken, aber das Ambiente, die Herzlickeit und die Weinauswahl waren grandios. Beim nächsten Besuch auf alle Fälle auf der To-Do-Liste.

Ein hervorragendes Restaurant. Wir hatten einen Tisch für 16 Personen, und das Essen, der Wein und der Service waren allesamt vorbildlich.

Wir fanden diesen kleinen aber sehr feinen Hinterhof mit einem so gemütlichem Ambiente. Es war so schön, das wir 3 Abende in folge dort waren. Spricht glaube ich schon für sich.Wir haben dort nicht gegessen, aber die Speisekarte ist sehr vielversprechend.Der Wein ist sehr gut. Service sehr locker,aufmerksam und nimmt sich auch Zeit für ein kleines Gespräch zwischendurch. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Hier wird Charme versprüht und mit Lust und Laune gearbeitet. Gerne werden mit Gästen Späße gemacht und auch am Tresen gelacht. Auf die Wünsche vom Gast wird sofort reagiert und agiert (beispiel: keine Tomaten im Salat, oder keine Blaubeeren im Gemüse oder die Umstellung auf Vegan) DOCH hier ist auch die Mitarbeit vom Gast gewünscht! Wer seinen Wunsch nicht äußert, ist selber Schuld. Großartig ist, das man bei allen Gerichten seine Beilagen SELBST wählen kann (ohne Preisaufschlag). Auch kann man sich das Essen einpacken lassen, was man nicht schaffen konnte (AUCH ohne Preisaufschlag). Danke an das Team, das immer loyal zu den Gästen ist ohne an allem Geld verdienen zu wollen. A restaurant where the owner authentically embodies her concept. Excellent cuisine, a sophisticated yet cozy atmosphere, and simply wonderful service and advice. Wines are offered by the glass and can be tasted beforehand, ensuring everyone at the table finds the perfect pairing. The same excellent advice extends to the food choices. A small restaurant that is truly one of a kind. Highly recommended!

The food and service were absolutely outstanding; I haven't eaten so well in a very long time. The waitress was always there when needed and proactively asked if we had any further requests, etc. Very professional and very friendly. The restaurant's ambiance could be improved; perhaps a cozier, especially dimmer, lighting upstairs would be good, along with some suitable decorations on the walls, etc. Then it wouldn't feel so bright and a bit cold. Otherwise, everything was truly top-notch.

The restaurant is somewhat hidden in the courtyard next to the café of the same name on Richard Wagner Platz, diagonally opposite the "Blechbüchse" (Brühl). It's not large, which we found very pleasant and cozy, and the layout is interesting. However, not all the tables were occupied at the time. Nevertheless, it's advisable to make a reservation beforehand. The waiter was very friendly, and his relaxed manner made us feel comfortable right away. Since we aren't big wine drinkers, let alone connoisseurs, we unfortunately couldn't take advantage of his expertise in that area. In our opinion, the food was excellent. The menu isn't extensive, but they clearly place a strong emphasis on the quality of the dishes, which is more important to us. All in all, a lovely evening there. We highly recommend this restaurant!

We had traditional dishes like calf's liver and braised ox cheeks. We started with either potato soup or salsify soup. Everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent, including a great wine recommendation. Highly recommended!

After reading the really great website beforehand, you'd think, "Wow!!! This is the right place for the farewell dinner of our three-day visit to Leipzig." But we had the worst dinner of our three days there. Carelessly slapped onto the plates, smeared edges, fried potatoes swimming in the sauce. My veal liver was cut so unevenly and accordingly sometimes rare, sometimes cooked well. The red apple and onion compote was carelessly hidden under a piece of liver. The ox cheeks were tender but equally poorly presented. This was home-style cooking presented very poorly! And the boss's serving technique could be greatly improved. She carried and served two bowls of ice cream pressed together with her thumb and forefinger. So, her fingers were inside the bowl!

Really good wine, food and service!

This time, our dinner took us to the hospitable "Wagners." In addition to all the wonderful amenities, the service is impeccable. The absolute highlight for me was the tasting of our wine selection, which was served at our table. I've experienced this in a few superb restaurants… Wagners is definitely one of them.

I was there today. The starter was really good bread with poached eggs. Not exceptional, but really good. The main course was Leipziger Allerlei (a kind of mixed dish). It was quite rustic in presentation. The flavor was rather mild, but it was really tasty. With two or three crayfish, I had the feeling they tasted quite fishy. My feeling was right. I'm sitting in my hotel room with an upset stomach, and I won't see much of Leipzig today other than the plastered bathroom walls.

Das Essen und vor allem der Wein waren Klasse. Leider waren die Räumlichkeiten alles andere als gemütlich. Die Tische standen so eng, dass es sich der Gast vom Nebentisch nicht nehmen lies, sich an unserem Gespräch zu beteiligen. Die Toiletten befinden sich ganz oben im Restaurant zu denen eine schmale steile enge Treppe führte. Eine Herausforderung der besonderen Art, vor allem wenn man schon ein Gläschen Wein getrunken hat.Überhaupt nicht barrierefreien mit älteren mobilitätseingeschränkten Menschen nicht empfehlenswert.Schade.

We particularly enjoyed the fruity vegetable notes in the creative dishes. New flavor combinations were beautifully presented on our plates. The white wine recommendation was spot on. The price for the filling portions is reasonable, not expensive. We sat on a warm Thursday summer evening in the cozy outdoor dining area, which was overgrown with lush vines.

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner in the particularly beautiful ambiance of the "Wagner." Chris is a fantastic hostess, warm, attentive, and cheerful, and has excellent wine knowledge. ("I am the wine list." - The wine she recommended paired perfectly with our meals.) The dishes, with their extraordinary composition, are a culinary highlight, a feast for the palate. Thanks to Chris and her team - we'll be happy to return. We definitely recommend them!

Service was good, the lady was friendly, I ordered an espresso and first got a normal coffee, but on the second attempt I got an espresso which unfortunately had a very weak taste.

A very beautiful courtyard covered in vines. The owner is also very friendly, attentive, and personable, who knows a lot about wine and always has good recommendations. Great ambiance, excellent service, delicious food...in the summer, you should definitely check out the Frauenzimmertheater summer performance. Beforehand, you can enjoy a lovely meal and drink in the courtyard until 8 p.m. Highly recommended.

Actually, I can repeat my review from a few minutes ago exactly the same way: Yesterday we went there for dinner for the third time and were once again completely impressed by the service and of course the excellent food. Every course is a culinary delight and also beautifully presented. Unbelievable when you consider that only one chef prepares this. The wine recommendation was also excellent and went perfectly with the food. We'll be back soon. Big praise to both service + chef :)

Sensationell. Wie jedes Jahr war wieder die Kreationen der Küche und die Herzlichkeit des Personals umwerfend. Vor allem das Filet mit Preisselbeerbutter, der Spargel mit Erdbeeren waren ein Highlight. Wir kommen wieder - nächstes Jahr. Und freuen uns schon auf das Wiedersehen.

Look, just go there and do as you're told. That's how thoroughly the owner knows wine, service, and the magic of late nights and chats with strangers. I can't speak to the food, but the wine is serious, like, wine-nerd excellence serious, like, re-think your budget and how you use your spare time kind of level. Is it too small? Yes. Do you have to go down the bar sideways? Probably. But these are appropriate acts of devotion in that context, so just sidle along and take a seat.

Quite by accident, I came across this place during a Sunday family walk. As Mark Chadbourn wrote: ...coincidences cannot be ignored. Exactly, and in this case I was charmed by the menu card encouraging people to taste popular, classic, traditional dishes with Polish flavors. You can write a lot, but in this case you have to try... from the very beginning, the service was at the highest level, the quality of serving and, most importantly, the taste at the highest level. I cannot ignore the atmosphere created by the owner by sharing her valuable time in high-level conversations. I highly recommend it and we will definitely come back here 👌⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We went here for dinner for the first time. They have a very nice website with an attractive menu. That made us curious. Unfortunately we are a bit disappointed. The image of Leipziger Allerlei was tempting. Unfortunately the plate didn't look so inviting.

Wir sind ehr zufällig beim Wagners vorbeigekommen und da die Küche durchgehend geöffnet ist, sind wir am späten Nachmittag dort eingekehrt. Das "schmalste Restaurant Leipzigs" ist geschackvoll eingerichtet, freundliche und aufmerksame Gastgeberin, gute Weinempfehlung. Man fühlt sich wohl. Was die Speisen angeht ist es ok, aber nicht mehr.

We had a cozy meal today for Women's Day 2025 and received very nice and friendly advice... we were offered and served a very tasty meal and, after advice and recommendation and according to our ideas, delicious wine... Our ideas... Ahhh, I have an idea... it was just great and exactly what we had imagined... all in all... an all-round great and successful, delicious evening... we would be happy to come back... and the best.... Small but with a bang! Even though Wagners only has a few tables, it is rightly an institution in the Leipzig gastronomic landscape. Everything has style without appearing artificial or stiff. The service is on point and very attentive. Although you sit a little closer together here, we didn't find that annoying. The food was once again a blast and felt good on the tongue! Die Reservierung bei Wagners Restaurant & Weinwirtschaft war problemlos möglich, obwohl wir uns erst kurz vor unserem Wunschtermin telefonisch gemeldet hatten. Wir, meine Frau und ich und unsere österreichische Freundin, wurden sehr höflich und zuvorkommend empfangen, bekamen einen schönen Tisch und wurden umgehend bedient. Die Atmosphäre in diesem Restaurant ist sehr ansprechend. Es ist eine Kombination aus gepflegtem Ambiente und gemütlicher Ausstattung. Die Küche erwies sich als sehr leistungsfähig, das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Aufgrund der Tatsache, dass das Restaurant bis auf den letzten Platz belegt war, hatte das Personal herausfordernde Aufgaben. Sicherlich dadurch bedingt kam es zu einer kleinen Verwechslung bei unserer Bestellung, die angemessen schnell korrigiert wurde und für die man sich mit einem Glas Rotwein entschuldigte. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Abend.

The restaurant extends over several floors in the back building in small rooms. A visit is very worthwhile. There is excellent cuisine. The wine list is unusual - there is no paper menu but wines are recommended with the meal. You can trust the expert's recommendations and experience wines that you didn't know and therefore wouldn't have chosen. That's part of the experience of eating here.

The food in Wagner's Restaurant was the best I've eaten so far, but 5 stars. The operation and service was top notch for 5 stars. I am absolutely not a wine drinker and was persuaded to at least try it once, it was a good decision, the wine was perfect for that 5 stars. The ambience is historical and you don't see it every day and that's why I give it 5 stars. Thank you for the lovely evening with you. 🙂🙏

The great team were happy to fulfill additional requests, which was a real achievement considering the restaurant was fully booked. Wir waren abends 19:00 Uhr zum Essen. Reservierung hat geklappt und der Zweiertisch war schön eingedeckt. Das Ambiente in der ersten Etage war schön und farblich gut abgestimmt. Die Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte haben sehr gut geschmeckt, die Weinempfehlung harmonierte ausgezeichnet dazu. Der Service war sehr gut und das Personal sehr freundlich. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen, wir kommen sicher wieder.
