⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Wir waren inzwischen mehrfach in diesem Restaurant und insgesamt immer gerne hier. Besonders der schöne Biergarten im Grünen ist für die Lage eine echte Überraschung und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Familien mit Kindern kommen ebenfalls auf ihre Kosten – das Piratenschiff mit Rutsche ist eine tolle Idee. Der Service war bei unseren Besuchen stets freundlich und aufmerksam, allerdings hätten die Abläufe an manchen Tagen etwas besser organisiert sein können. Teilweise mussten wir recht lange auf Getränke und Essen warten, was gerade mit einem hungrigen Kind etwas unangenehm war. Das Essen war insgesamt gut, wenn auch nicht durchgehend auf dem gleichen Niveau. Das Schnitzel hat überzeugt, ebenso die Roulade, die Hefeknödel und die Pancakes mit Zitrone. Auch die Ananas mit Minze war eine gelungene und kreative Kombination. Kleinere Abzüge gibt es für die Rosmarinkartoffeln, denen Röstaromen fehlten, das etwas zu scharfe und leicht verkochte Rindergulasch sowie den Lammrücken und die Bohnen, die etwas zarter bzw. bissfester hätten sein können. Die Käsespätzle waren uns etwas zu mild gewürzt und hatten eine ungewohnte Konsistenz. Der Apfelstrudel war geschmacklich gut, wirkte jedoch etwas zu stark aufgewärmt. Insgesamt überwiegen die positiven Eindrücke. Mit etwas mehr Konstanz in Küche und Service wäre das Restaurant für uns nahezu perfekt. Wir kommen dennoch gerne wieder.

Gutes Essen, nette Bedienung. Das Ambiente passt nicht ganz zum guten Essen :-) wir kommen trotzdem sehr gern hier hin.

Toller Biergarten. Ein echt schöner Innenhof, in dem man gemütlich und gemeinsam ein schönes Feierabend Bier 🍻 genießen kann.

01.05.2026 An einem warmen Abend im Garten wurden wir nett, aber nicht sehr effektiv bedient, mein Schnitzel war gut, die Rosmarin Röstkatoffeln kamen mit Petersilie und ohne Röstaromen, ansonsten waren wir zufrieden. Man sitzt hier im Grünen, was für die Gegend überraschend ist, die Kellner sind sehr aufmerksam und für Kinder gibt es ein Piratenschiff mit Rutsche. Das Rindergulasch war etwas zu scharf und ein bisschen verkocht, die Hefe Knödel waren sehr gut. Bei den pulled Pork Burger hätte ich mir etwas mehr cole slaw statt der zusätzlichen Ofenkartoffel gewünscht, die Pan cakes mit Zitrone waren super, die Ananas mit Minze eine gute Idee. Pils gut gezapft an den Gast zu bringen, da gibt es noch Luft nach oben. Zweiter Besuch im März: Auf die Kellner und das Essen mussten wir Recht lang warten, was mit einem hungrigen Kind nicht so witzig ist. Der Lammrücken hätte etwas zarter sein können, die Bohnen waren zu weich, aber geschmeckt hat es. Die Roulade war sehr gut, die Käsespätzle waren salzlos, schmeckten nach Muskat und hatten eine eigenartige Konsistenz. Der Apfelstrudel war aufgewärmt, hatte eine harte, leicht abgebrannte Kruste, geschmacklich aber gut.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker und es ist nicht so teuer also einen immer einen Besuch wert

I've memorized both the food and the prices from the many years that Waldfrieden was my beloved, extended living room. Now the operator and price calculator seem to have changed. In the end, the less painful price was the criterion for choosing a dish, not the taste. There were several of us, and our satisfaction with the dishes varied. The pumpkin gnocchi were lukewarm, lacking in flavor, and not filling, while the cheese spaetzle was the opposite. It's a shame that the pricing calculations make a future low-threshold visit impossible. It's simply a restaurant that one could visit for "occasions," no longer a neighborhood thing.

It hasn't been the same since the change of ownership... Excessive prices... Small portions... Long wait times despite a very limited menu... Nothing special... Typical run-of-the-mill service without any passion, and that during the week. It's a shame. We've been customers for years, but after two recent visits, that's changed.

Legendary restaurant in the true heart of Leipzig. Classic home cooking mixed with vegan delicacies and an excellent beer selection. Very child-friendly and highly recommended! Be sure to stop by!

Cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff. Selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes is good. The prices for the starter and dessert as well as the pasta dishes are okay. I found the Wiener Schnitzel to be overpriced considering the portion size. Otherwise, the total price to be paid is okay (six people approx. €270).

Friendly welcome and the first round of drinks came quickly. We had to wait a bit for the second round. The starter arrived late but was very tasty. We then had to wait almost 2 hours for the main course 😠 the food was cold!! We let it go back and got a new, half-cold plate back 30 minutes later. The waiters were friendly, but not exactly quick. Well, unfortunately not recommended.

We were thrilled. The service staff were consistently friendly, a bit funny and just really great! The food was really tasty and the portions were the right value for money. The ambience fits the area very nicely. From the outside from the street, the restaurant is very inconspicuous, but inside you are immediately impressed. We didn't go to the courtyard, but we'll do it when we're there in the summer. Overall, a big recommendation. We would love to come back!

We had to wait half an hour before we could order, but there was a very friendly and sincere apology as it was really busy. Accepted. We were rewarded with a fantastic meal, baked beetroot with sheep's cheese and pan bread was our extremely tasty starter and the Zurich Geschnetzeltes with chanterelles and the chanterelle risotto (both August specials) also tasted excellent. In terms of price, you absolutely can't complain these days for this quality, the ambience and the friendliness of the service. We'll be back!

My absolute favorite restaurant in Connewitz! Fine cuisine, well-trained and friendly service! Great atmosphere, especially in summer, in the beer garden in the back yard. Perfect for closed events of all kinds! Prices are realistic and anything but too high for the quality of the food!

Since it was very full in the garden area, we were offered a table for 6 people with the option if there was a table for 2 people available that we could move. Since it was getting later and later, we ordered our dinner with drinks and started eating it. In the middle of the meal, another employee told us that we had to finish eating and drinking within a quarter of an hour because the table was reserved for 6 people. The female waiter hadn't told us this beforehand. Otherwise we would have left beforehand. Something like this has never happened to us before: we had to gulp down our food and our drink (we wanted to order a second drink) because the 6 people were already standing behind us. We will never enter this "restaurant" again, even though we are in Leipzig and the area more often. So, as written, this house is not recommended.

I recently landed there spontaneously with friends on a Friday evening. Despite the store being full, the waiter made it possible for us to stay. The food and drink were excellent, but above all the friendly waiter with his humorous manner will be remembered positively.

An idyllic restaurant with Polish operators. A schnitzel that you rarely get. All side dishes are handmade and well seasoned. The schnitzel was big and juicy. The fries perfect. The whole thing garnished with fresh chanterelles. And all at peace prices. And the Polish way of life is good for us Germans. A nice little restaurant, located on a main street, which makes the parking situation difficult but doesn't detract from the ambience. There is a small children's area in the yard which is definitely a plus. I'm relatively happy with the pulled pork burger, only the meat was a bit dry. (Happened) The child had ordered pancakes and received three mini pancakes (for €6). The non-vegetarian goulash was delicious and well-crafted. The vegetarian goulash was okay. The service was friendly. We waited about 20 minutes for the first drinks and sat with empty glasses for (at least) 20 minutes after eating. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to order dessert. We had to go to the counter to pay. After paying, the waitress showed no understanding for small tips and was inaccessible to our criticism. We like to give second chances. After we were given such an unfriendly farewell; we have to think about this again.

Friendly waiters and delicious food, very good meat dishes and also a reasonable selection of vegetarian alternatives. Unfortunately we had to wait a little longer for the main courses. The prices are also completely ok.

Very cute, only the gravel or stones are dangerous and terribly uncomfortable. A simple concrete ceiling might be a step in the right direction. Especially older people, and there were many of them, had work to do, even if no one fell, many of them collapsed and had visible problems with their balance. And the chairs also seemed unergonomic because you were constantly slumping over. Food was good, but 32 euros for schnitzel and potatoes and asparagus are very, very expensive, even for Leipzig. There would also be room for improvement. 25 would be ok too. And bssl love on the plate when serving costs nothing, neither time nor money. :) Service was great, toilet ok, service very nice. We still felt comfortable. And it's not a bad criticism.
