We were thrilled. The service staff were consistently friendly, a bit funny and just really great! The food was really tasty and the portions were the right value for money. The ambience fits the area very nicely. From the outside from the street, the restaurant is very inconspicuous, but inside you are immediately impressed. We didn't go to the courtyard, but we'll do it when we're there in the summer. Overall, a big recommendation. We would love to come back!

I was really excited about the goulash to take away today! I also think young potatoes with skin on are really good! So you definitely picked me up today! Super cute beer garden is in the back yard and it's kind of cozy inside too! I felt very comfortable! The service I got to know today was super friendly! You sit in the countryside, which is surprising for the area, the waiters are very attentive and there is a pirate ship with a slide for children. The beef goulash was a bit too spicy and a bit overcooked, the yeast dumplings were very good. For the pulled pork burgers I would have liked a little more cole slaw instead of the additional baked potato, the pancakes with lemon were great, the pineapple with mint was a good idea. There is still room for improvement when it comes to bringing Pils to guests in a well-tapped form.

We had to wait half an hour before we could order, but there was a very friendly and sincere apology as it was really busy. Accepted. We were rewarded with a fantastic meal, baked beetroot with sheep's cheese and pan bread was our extremely tasty starter and the Zurich Geschnetzeltes with chanterelles and the chanterelle risotto (both August specials) also tasted excellent. In terms of price, you absolutely can't complain these days for this quality, the ambience and the friendliness of the service. We'll be back!

My absolute favorite restaurant in Connewitz! Fine cuisine, well-trained and friendly service! Great atmosphere, especially in summer, in the beer garden in the back yard. Perfect for closed events of all kinds! Prices are realistic and anything but too high for the quality of the food!

Since it was very full in the garden area, we were offered a table for 6 people with the option if there was a table for 2 people available that we could move. Since it was getting later and later, we ordered our dinner with drinks and started eating it. In the middle of the meal, another employee told us that we had to finish eating and drinking within a quarter of an hour because the table was reserved for 6 people. The female waiter hadn't told us this beforehand. Otherwise we would have left beforehand. Something like this has never happened to us before: we had to gulp down our food and our drink (we wanted to order a second drink) because the 6 people were already standing behind us. We will never enter this "restaurant" again, even though we are in Leipzig and the area more often. So, as written, this house is not recommended.

A wonderful little oasis, very lovingly designed and the food is very tasty - and a must with children thanks to the pirate ship! ;)

I recently landed there spontaneously with friends on a Friday evening. Despite the store being full, the waiter made it possible for us to stay. The food and drink were excellent, but above all the friendly waiter with his humorous manner will be remembered positively.

An idyllic restaurant with Polish operators. A schnitzel that you rarely get. All side dishes are handmade and well seasoned. The schnitzel was big and juicy. The fries perfect. The whole thing garnished with fresh chanterelles. And all at peace prices. And the Polish way of life is good for us Germans. Tyskie beer tastes good and means in German - on the way from you to you

The waiter is a little mimosa and doesn't want to serve you because his little ego seems to be hurt.

Nice courtyard to eat. Waited more than 1h30 for a schnitzel. There were problems in the kitchen. It would have been fair to tell you that upon arrival.

The five of us had a very good meal in the beer garden in the inner courtyard. Can really recommend, nothing to complain about. I was very positively surprised in Connewitz. 🍀👍🏻

Very good German cuisine!!!I like to eat Trout Müllerin style here. The fish is fried very tasty and the annoying fish bones are already out!Child-friendly restaurant!!

A nice little restaurant, located on a main street, which makes the parking situation difficult but doesn't detract from the ambience. There is a small children's area in the yard which is definitely a plus. I'm relatively happy with the pulled pork burger, only the meat was a bit dry. (Happened) The child had ordered pancakes and received three mini pancakes (for €6). The non-vegetarian goulash was delicious and well-crafted. The vegetarian goulash was okay. The service was friendly. We waited about 20 minutes for the first drinks and sat with empty glasses for (at least) 20 minutes after eating. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to order dessert. We had to go to the counter to pay. After paying, the waitress showed no understanding for small tips and was inaccessible to our criticism. We like to give second chances. After we were given such an unfriendly farewell; we have to think about this again.

A restaurant with constantly changing dishes and seasonal offers. Cozy atmosphere, especially in summer it's nice to sit in the beer garden in the back yard. Friendly waiters and delicious food, very good meat dishes and also a reasonable selection of vegetarian alternatives. Unfortunately we had to wait a little longer for the main courses. The prices are also completely ok.

Very cute, only the gravel or stones are dangerous and terribly uncomfortable. A simple concrete ceiling might be a step in the right direction. Especially older people, and there were many of them, had work to do, even if no one fell, many of them collapsed and had visible problems with their balance. And the chairs also seemed unergonomic because you were constantly slumping over. Food was good, but 32 euros for schnitzel and potatoes and asparagus are very, very expensive, even for Leipzig. There would also be room for improvement. 25 would be ok too. And bssl love on the plate when serving costs nothing, neither time nor money. :) Service was great, toilet ok, service very nice. We still felt comfortable. And it's not a bad criticism.

It was really full and we had no reservation but in the end staff found a table for us. Drinks and food - mediocre, not bad. What I didn't like - the menu was not for my taste and I couldn't order out of the menu

Very great restaurant, not a restaurant at all, and nice, courteous service. Authentic ambience, matching the peace of the forest. Fine dining is coming back, even though we unfortunately don't live nearby.

Were there late on Sunday lunchtime. About half of the tables inside were occupied. We were served/advised quickly but not intrusively and the food didn't take too long to arrive. After a bit of fun with the very nice service and the best boiled beef ever (juicy & tender), we had a homemade apple strudel. The prices are justified for such food/service/quality. We'll definitely come by again. Thank you for the beautiful moment.

We were greeted very friendly. The cellars were incredibly nice and helpful even though it was really packed. The spiced meat was super delicious. The turkey liver with mashed potatoes and sauce with apple rings was to die for. It came out hot and delicious. If we are in Leipzig again, we will 100% come back.

I find it quite expensive here. The noodles were too salty.

Very disappointing what has become of the once rustic pub after the change of ownership. What was an alternative trendy pub as an insider tip has become a mainstream restaurant... this is reflected not only in the atmosphere, but also in the price, which unfortunately isn't even justified. The pan bread was burnt and unfortunately not airy but just flat and hard. In my opinion, the seasoned meat was not with duck as it is normally served with chicken... (maybe Christmas leftovers?) The food was extremely salty!! Mouse au Chocolate was very solid, so unfortunately it had nothing to do with Mouse. However, for the small amount 7€ is very excessive. The waiter was personable. It's a shame...really very disappointing.

Went there based on the reviews online. There was a lot of graffiti in the area, which didn't seem too trustworthy. We were the only guests in the restaurant, which also worried me a bit. But in the end it was very nice in the restaurant and the food was plentiful and very good. I really liked it here. One star deducted from the ambience because of the scribbles in the toilets. Otherwise I can only recommend the restaurant.

Sehr nettes Lokal mit herzhafter Küche

Super nettes und umsichtiges Personal! Angenehmes Ambiente innen und außen! Leider ist uns das Essen nicht mehr angenehm! Alle Speisen sind viel zu fettig sowie teilweise auch zu salzig. Wenn man nach 10 bis 15 Minuten das Essen bekommt ist das einerseits ja schön, zeigt aber was in der Küche passiert = Kochen dauert länger.

Einfach toll, meine Frau war total begeistert! Es ist zwar nicht greade günstig, dafür war alles frisch zubereitet und lecker!!!

War zum ersten Mal dort aber sicher nicht zum letzten Mal. Sehr angenehmes Restaurant mit sehr netten und höflichen Servicekräften. Das Essen ein Traum und jeden Cent wert. Kompliment auf diesem Wege auch noch einmal an die Küche.

Coole Location. Von Außen extrem unscheinbar. War ein Zufallstreffer. Kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Heute mal wieder etwas neues auszuprobiert. Und ich kann sagen das wir es nicht bereut haben. Sehr nette Bedienung und gemütliches Ambiente. Und die Auswahl der Speisen: Nicht zu groß, nicht zu klein, gute Mischung Vegetarisch/Fleisch. Wir wählten zwei vegetarische Vorspeisen und zwei vegetarische Hauptspeisen. Alles sehr schmackhaft, außer das mein Nussbraten doch etwas zu salzig war. Ich hoffe es wurde der Küche gemeldet und sie ändert dies. Und weiterer Pluspunkt: regionale Getränke. Kastenbier und Rhababerlikör aus Connewitz. Köstlich! Wir kommen auf jedenfall wieder.

Meine Empfehlung: zuerst ein kleines Ur-Krostitzer bestellen und danach das Kasten-Bräu! Sehr gutes Bier 🍻

Mir hat es sehr gut gefallen.Alle sind sehr nett aufgestellt Es gibt nichts was man kritisieren könnte. Bin auf alle Fälle einmal in der Woche dort zu Gast. Und da geht man doch gern hin.

Leckeres Essen, abwechslungsreiche, saisonale Karte. Ein paar Basics würden der Karte nicht Schaden (Schnitzel!!!). Preise sind recht sportlich, da hat die Qualität nicht immer mitgehalten.

De bediening is heel vriendelijk en de veganistische goulash was zeer lekker. De cocktails waren iets minder.

Ruhige Lokalität in Leipzig-Connewitz. Sehr freundliches Personal. Essensangebot übersichtlich. Jedoch geschmacklich sehr gut. Mittlere Preislage. Freisitz/Biergarten im Hinterhof. Begrenztes Platzangebot. Ruhig unter Bäumen gelegen und empfehlenswert.

Der Service und das Essen waren super. Der Preis war angemessen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können die Gaststätte sehr empfehlen.

Nette Atmosphäre und Bedienung. Sehr leckeres Essen aus frischen Zutaten mit guten Gewürzen. Wir kommen definitiv wieder. Und wir haben Essen zu einer Unzeit bekommen.

Auch wenn ich hier den Alleinunterhalter spiele..... Seit dem Lockdown das erste Mal wieder in einer Gaststätte gewesen. Fazit: Weder das Bedienpersonal noch der Koch haben etwas verlernt. Während der Schließzeit wurde auf dem Hof "klar Schiff" gemacht. Das Essen ist so gut wie vorher, ordentliche Portionen (das Wiener Schnitzel hat gerade so auf den großen Teller gepasst), schmecken tut es auch wie bei Muttern. Die Preise haben etwas angezogen, aber das ist eben so. Absolut kein Grund, das Waldfrieden nicht weiterhin wärmstens zu empfehlen.
