A lovely pub in the heart of Dresden, located by the Grosser Garten. I'm a regular here not only for our local sports club's home games, but we also meet up outside of football events in the guard room. They serve authentic Eastern European classics and cold beer! Highly recommended!

We went out to eat as a family over the weekend. The weather was lovely, so we were able to sit outside in the sunshine. Despite being in the middle of the city, it was very green and quiet. The restaurant is located right next to the large garden. The children had a wonderful time playing on the playground, which helped pass the time. The staff was very friendly. The food was fresh and beautifully presented. We felt very comfortable and would gladly come back. Thank you very much 😊

The service outside was very poor and unprepared, especially on a public holiday. No vegetarian options, such as fries or salad. And there was no cutlery! Everything was a bit unprofessional today.

After a disappointing visit to a nearby beer garden, we stopped by this restaurant for a drink and were very pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and helpful, the drinks were very good and reasonably priced. There's a small playground for children, and the seating is pleasant. We would go back. We can't comment on the food.

Small beer garden, staff of varying levels of friendliness – the lady behind the counter was a bit gruff – but maybe that's her style? The gentleman at the door, on the other hand, was very friendly and accommodating. The food is good, but not worth the rather steep price. The small tarte flambée, the size of a slice of bread, for €13.90 is quite a tad bit overpriced. Otherwise, a nice place where you can easily spend a few hours.

Very unfriendly service. I stood at the entrance waiting, the waiter (a man) clearly saw me, turned around, and simply walked away. No greeting, no menu, and no offer to seat me. I felt completely ignored. The waitress was a bit friendlier, though.

Unfortunatelly stuff doesn't know english however lady behind the counter seemed nice and try her best to understan my attempt in use this barbaric language. Food is very far from what you may call decent German street food. Curry wurst was kind of tomato stew with chopped sausages slightly sprinkled with curry seasonings. Not recommend.

The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. Our four-legged friends are always well looked after, too. The food was excellent, and the chef personally introduced himself. Highly recommended.

It's a great place to have a beer, two, or three before and after the game. The staff are great, and it's a joy to be among the fans.

Nice little location in a large garden, friendly service.

A few days ago, we were invited to this restaurant for an 80th birthday celebration. Our hostess had personally reserved a table for seven people for the occasion. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table devoid of any decorations. Two cutlery containers, more suited to a garden restaurant, and two small vases of dried grasses adorned the table, along with two unlit tea lights. The welcome champagne we ordered was intended to be appropriate for the occasion. The waitress seemed overwhelmed, and this continued throughout the evening. Without going into further detail, the service was inadequate for this restaurant and the price range. The dishes we ordered were very appealing and tasted very good.

Terrible service, the waitress took our food order and disappeared, after 25 minutes we asked another waiter when the food would be, he said that our order was not there… So be careful and choose another place for lunch.

This was my first time at this restaurant. Everything was perfect. The only flaw is the bathroom facilities. They're completely unsuitable for disabled guests. It's a shame, so I won't be able to visit again.

The guard room is located across from the Dynamo Stadium. Definitely recommended on non-match days. However, the restroom cleaning during opening hours needs to be improved. This has been a source of criticism.

First of all, I would like to thank the entire team very much. No matter how crowded it is (during Dynamo Dresden match days), no matter what concerns we have, we are always treated patiently and kindly. It's like coming home every time, the atmosphere is so warm. The historical ambience was lovingly staged. The food is very tasty. I can only warmly recommend the guard room. We always really enjoy being here.

Side snack not recommended. Waiting time for food was very long. Not very hygienic, people keep touching food with their hands after long breaks. Soljanka very watery no content. You have to be careful where you sit, if that happens you'll get an unpleasant reprimand.

We stopped by on a spontaneous visit after we went swimming. Great atmosphere and super friendly service staff. Highly recommended. We'll be back!

Eine tolle Location ist die Wachstube in Dresden. Bei unserem Besuch aus dem Badischen in Sachsen haben wir im Vorfeld bereits reserviert und daher einen der wenigen Tische in dem kleinen gemütlichen Restaurant bekommen. Service: Die Dame im Service war auf sehr authentische Art freundlich. Die Bestellung wurde zeitnah aufgenommen und auch die Gerichte waren recht zügig am Platz. - 4/5 Essen: Die Aufgabe die ich mir für diesen Abend gestellt hatte war keine leichte. Zartes Schweinerückensteak überbacken mit Würzfleisch und Käse, dazu Erbsen und Pommes Frites. Ich wollte unbedingt die lokale Spezialität Würzfleisch probieren. Insgesamt ist dieses Gericht aber einfach wahnsinnig mächtig. Entsprechend habe ich in diesem Teller auch meinen Meister gefunden. Schön fand ich, dass ordentlich Erbsen angerichtet wurden, da ich diese gerne esse. Insgesamt war das Essen sehr lecker, aber der Käse hat mir den Knock Out verpasst. Geschmacklich war ich aber glücklich einmal das Würzfleisch probiert zu haben, was mein Highlight an diesem Gericht war. - 4/5 Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis: Für 21,90€ bekommt man wie bereits erwähnt eine ordentliche Portion von der man als normal sterblicher Gast satt werden muss. Ich war entsprechend auch zufrieden und halte den Preis für angemessen. - 4/5 Fazit: Schon alleine aufgrund der Location würde ich jedem einmal empfehlen in der Wachstube zu essen. Die Qualität und Menge des Essens war sehr gut. Wer gerne deftig isst wird hier sicher fündig. - 4/5

Bratwurst extremely tasty, very friendly staff, lots of seating

A great location is the Wachstube in Dresden. During our visit from Baden in Saxony, we made reservations in advance and therefore got one of the few tables in the small, cozy restaurant. Service: The lady in service was friendly in a very authentic way. The order was taken promptly and the dishes were delivered quite quickly. - 4/5 Eat: The task I had set myself for this evening was not an easy one. Tender pork loin steak gratinated with seasoned meat and cheese, served with peas and French fries. I really wanted to try the local specialty, spiced meat. Overall, this dish is just incredibly powerful. Accordingly, I have found my master in this plate. I thought it was nice that peas were neatly served, as I like to eat them. Overall, the food was very tasty, but the cheese was the knockout for me. In terms of taste, I was happy to have tried the spiced meat once, which was my highlight of this dish. - 4/5 Value for money: As already mentioned, for €21.90 you get a decent portion that you, as a normal mortal guest, have to fill up with. I was accordingly satisfied and think the price is reasonable. - 4/5 Conclusion: Because of the location alone, I would recommend everyone to eat in the guard room. The quality and quantity of the food was very good. Anyone who likes to eat hearty food will definitely find what they are looking for here. - 4/5

Price/performance doesn't fit here at all. Rustic pasta gratinated with cheese for €20: Spaghetti, sausage in (probably) ready-made sauce, cheese on top (possibly from a package for €1), ideally grated yourself...not gratinated, rather sprinkled on top and warmed briefly... The taste was mediocre and the presentation was poor. Pumpkin soup watery and lukewarm, mushroom soup more than hot. For a quick lunch, €60 is steep! Currently 10/2024 no recommendation.

We had bottle of still water for 9 Euros... I found this unacceptable price for water. Feels like they steal your money.

We ate here as a group for the first time today and were more than satisfied. We had a young waiter who made a great effort, despite the very grumpy customers at the next table. The food was super tasty, we had four different dishes, all of which tasted very delicious. The ambience convinced us and we would come back any time :)

We are canadians visiting family in dresden The two ladies in the restaurant were very rude to us because we didn't speak the German language, we were ordering a beer and some ice cream for the kids, and we struggled with the language barrier. Extremely unfriendly ladies, and they kept mumbling the whole time. What a horrible hospitality.

My 80th birthday party was a successful evening Guardroom in the Great Garden. It was beautifully decorated. My guests and I would like to thank the extremely competent, Attentive, friendly and fast service, fulfilling our wishes, thank you very much to the waitress (name not known) and her employees. We thank the chef for the delicious, tasty food. Also for this, I thought it was great that he called me about the gluten-free meal. Even in advance, the agreement with Ms. S. Tappert completely convinced me to celebrate in the guard room. A big thank you from K. Kö to everyone who contributed to the success of my birthday.

The fries were brown, hard and too salty. The bratwurst had been on the grill for over 2 hours. The employees are overwhelmed. Once and never again.

Delicious Adequate portion and we were full. The price is okay too! There is something for the children to play with.

It's a pleasure, the unfriendliness of the over 50 waiter reflects on his face, what do you want to eat with a tone? I think the gentleman should be able to calm down, never again, as we used to enjoy being there, but now we prefer other places! The food is inferior, the staff is rude and the shop should be closed

I was immediately reprimanded not to sit at the table. The table was not reserved or marked in any way. You couldn't greet a guest more unfriendly. A pity. I will not be coming back and therefore cannot recommend this restaurant.

Perfectly organized again, we have already celebrated the school launch, my birthday and now my son's youth dedication with you. Everything was perfect, even though we had reserved seats inside, a nice table was prepared for us on the terrace upon request, thank you very much for that. We'll definitely be back☺️

Nice place, good house lemonade for children (lavender and rose tastes!), and an impressive spargelmenu!

Unfortunately, despite the very low number of visitors, we were not served even after a long wait. The staff saw us but didn't do anything...it was supposed to be a nice end to a walk...it's a shame but that was the last time here.

Great ambience in an old building. We once ordered tarte flambee and schnitzel with mushrooms and fries. The prices for food and drinks are okay for the city center of Dresden. The tarte flambee was very good. Rahm mushrooms should be delivered in the champions of the schnitzel, but the sauce was very watery and not creamy. Our service (a young man) did not exactly gave birth to friendliness. There is definitely room for improvement.

I got to know this restaurant across the street as the “Torwirtschaft”. Since this year it is the guard room on the left side of the entrance. The food and drink here are always excellent! Praise to the kitchen! Simple dishes that are well-known in the East are made even more special by their preparation here. Service is also great! Down to earth and very accommodating. I'd love to be a guest there. Unfortunately, I often only make it here once a year. If a trip takes place via Dresden, the guard room is a must for me. And then it's a shame when you see the restaurant chains in the city center full at Christmas time. You can stop here!

The food was really delicious, you can't complain about that. Only the service is very questionable, hardly a smile, both waitresses seemed very annoyed. And perhaps you should think about suitable work clothing. Because you shouldn't serve in such a "lotter" sweater.

Vor jeder großen Veranstalung wird hier feinst geschlemmt. Lecker Essen zum guten Preis mit nettem Personal.

Ob geplanter Tagesausflug oder spontaner Spaziergang, in der Wachstube fühlt man sich wohl und durch die super schöne Lage am großen Garten ist das Lokal schnell erreichbar. Der Service war super. Das Personal ist freundlich. Das Essen ist lecker und frisch. Es ist sowohl für einen Familienausflug als auch für Dinner zu zweit geeignet. Durch den Spielplatz, wird es den Kindern auch nicht langweilig. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Hier eine kleine Kaffeepause gemacht und ein leckeres Stück Kuchen dazu. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung.

Waren nach einem Minigolfnachmittag (Anlage gleich daneben) zu acht spontan eingekehrt. Sehr aufmerksames Personal, schnelle Bedienung. Große Auswahl an kleinen und großen Gerichten, Seniorportion und Bestellung aus der Kinderkarte möglich. ALLE Essen waren super lecker (Szegediner Gulasch mit knödeln, Backfisch mit Bratkartoffeln, Nudeln mit scharfem Hühnchen, kleiner Flammkuchen, schnitzel mit Champions und pommes, Fischstäbchen und Süßkartoffelpommes)...wir kommen wieder

Zum Ende eines ausgedehnten Ausflugs in den großen Garten haben wir und hier für einen Snack niedergelassen. Der Service war sehr freundlich und kompetent. Die Tische waren sauber und nett hergerichtet. Das Essen kam flott und war sowohl ein Augen- als auch Gaumenschmaus. Biertrinker müssen mal ein "Büble" probieren, das ist ein herrlich süffiges Bierchen! Hier kommen wir gerne wieder hin.

Vielleicht hatten wir Pech, aber wir können uns den guten Bewertungen überhaupt nicht anschließen. Die sehr hohen Preise können wir uns nur mit der bekannten Lage im Grünen erklären. Nach langem Warten bekamen wir unser völlig übersalzenes Würzfleisch in geschmackloser Qualität einer Großküche grußlos hingestellt. Dazu eine übersüßte Waldbeerlimonade mit zu viel fertigen Sirup. Beides war lieblos angerichtet. Wir kommen definitiv nicht wieder und sind froh nicht noch mehr bestellt zu haben. Die Rechnung stimmte am Ende auch nicht ganz.

Da wir kurzfristig für den Ausfall eines geplanten Events in der Sächsischen Schweiz eine "Ersatzvariante" suchten, wurde uns hier für 25 Leute schnellstmöglich geholfen. Obwohl Speisen und Getränke seinen Preis haben, möchten wir hiermit nochmal ❤️- lichen Dank sagen. Essen, Service und Location vom Feinsten.

Also das Essen ist wirklich sehr lecker. Normalerweise bin ich bei Bratkartoffeln immer etwas skeptisch. Aber diese waren Mal keine Enttäuschung, eher in Gegenteil. Der Teller ist voll (Gericht: Backfisch mit Bratkartoffeln) mit saftigem Fisch, frischem Salat und einer frischen Remoulade im Schälchen. Auch der Flammkuchen (mit scharfen Hähnchen ist sehr sehr lecker und nicht zu deftig. Alles in allem seinen Preis wert. Beim Personal gibt's auch nichts zu meckern. Als gefragt wurde, ob der Schinken bei den Bratkartoffeln weggelassen werden könnte, wurde dies ohne Murren umgesetzt. Wir können nicht meckern und sind satt und zufrieden.

Wir waren heute spontan Inder Wachstube und sind leider sehr enttäuscht. Beginnender bei dem schlecht gelaunten Kellner der direkt zu Beginn schon genervt, von unserem Wunsch im Schatten zu sitzen, war. Seine Laune zog sich dann durch den ganzen Besuch. Die Bierdeckel wurden lustlos auf einen Haufen auf den Tisch geschmissen. Die verschiedenen Sorten der Hausgemachten Limonade wurde lustlos und unverständlich runtergerasselt und auf Nachfrage dies bitte zu wiederholen wurde es in einem genervten und stark überheblichen Ton wiederholt. Bei der Essenbestellung hatte es ihm offensichtlich nicht gepasst dass wir nur 2 Gerichte bestellt haben zu 4. Das servierte Essen war dennoch sehr lecker, aber die Preise meiner Meinung nach trotzdem fraglich. Kinderpasta für 8,10€ ist mehr als übertrieben. Als wir dann aufgrund des unfreundlichen Service ohne Trinkgeld gezahlt haben, ist der werte Herr wortlos gegangen. Kein Tschüss, kein nichts. Sehr schade für das doch sehr hübsch gelegene Restaurant.

Wir waren heute mit 10 Personen, vorbestellt, zum Mittagessen. Es lief alles wunderbar, Bedienung sehr nett, Essen ganz lecker, alle verschiedenen Speisen, wurden zeitgleich serviert. Die nette Kellnerin hat sich stets um unser Wohl gekümmert...einfach super....kann man nur empfehlen

Langsame, unaufmerksame und unhöfliche Bedienung. Lauwarme Kaffee, güte Himbeerbrause. Die Gäste mussten lange warten, um ein Platz zu bekommen.
