The food was bad. Dry schnitzel with greasy, reheated fried potatoes and sausage salad with stale sausage!

Type. Brewery on the edge of Ettlingen's old town. Reservations are highly recommended if it rains. Even during the week. Friendly and quick service. Very fast. Food like drinks. The knuckle, as can be read in other reviews; It was too hard as a crust and couldn't be cut. It couldn't even be crushed in the mouth. That doesn't negate the price/performance either. Little meat on it. Disappointment. The half chicken top. Cheese spaetzle also delicious. The light beer was too bitter for me. A matter of taste. In general it was too loud for us in the large hall. Better enjoyed on the terrace. Price performance really top. Drinks like food. Unfortunately the quantity of the knuckle is too cheap. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars. 64 euros for 3 people including a pretzel starter and large drinks. Thanks - keep it up and read the Haxen reviews. -)

Were here on Good Friday. Was relatively little attended. It was probably due to the bad weather, which didn't bother us as the food and drinks were served quicker. We had lunch at Vogelbräu Ettlingen on February 24th. We were served quickly and friendly. The food was ok, but unfortunately the cheese spaetzle was lukewarm and the schnitzel was probably frozen. Since the bill was still within the limit at €29, it is still acceptable. I actually wanted to celebrate my birthday there with the family, but since we weren't that convinced about the price-performance ratio, we'll look elsewhere.

The beer (especially the Pils for me) is super tasty, wonderfully hoppy. Plus half a Güggeli - man, what more could you want?

There wasn't, which is completely legitimate, but for €110 a liter I wanted advice. Answer: “Just read the brochure.” The brochure is not handed over, but simply slapped on the table. No advice, no one who knows their own products. Please refer to the brochure upon request. Wouldn't have bought anything if the whiskey hadn't been a promised gift. The treatment was a disgrace and you can tell that the focus here is not on the quality, but on the quantity of the treatment. It should also be mentioned that I didn't go at peak times, but on a weekday at 10:45 a.m. So it wasn't because the store was completely full. My experience so far - poor.

The two of us went to Vogelbräu today. The mishap started as soon as the order was placed. We wanted to order a knuckle and a cabbage with boiled food from the daily menu. When it came to the cabbage, the service person first wanted to know the price from us. But well, maybe it's a new employee. The cabbage was served quite quickly, but the knuckle was missing. When we asked, we were told that the food wasn't in the elevator yet and that there was chaos in the kitchen. Well, maybe the kitchen crew is new too. After waiting for well over an hour, we wanted to cancel the pork knuckle and asked for the bill. Presto, the service person was gone and said that she would have to cancel it in the kitchen. After another 10 minutes she came and added up our order, including the knuckle, for the bill. When we told her that we hadn't received the knuckle, she asked in astonishment: oh, it wasn't served? No apology, nothing. Of course, errors can always occur, but then the service should try to make up for it somehow. Perhaps the staff should be trained again on this.

I expected a lot from the supposedly “home-brewed” beer – but what we got was stale and tasted like stale water. A bitter failure! And the ambience? Anything but comfortable. It was incredibly loud, chaotic and stuffy. You had the feeling of sitting in a train station and not in a brewery. After this experience, I can only advise everyone not to waste their time and money here. Conclusion: A visit to Vogelbräu Ettlingen is a waste of money and a complete waste of time. Absolutely not recommended!

Wir kommen aus dem Rheinland und wissen daher gute Brauhäuser zu schätzen ; vor diesem Hintergrund war unser Besuch ein sehr positives Erlebnis! Die sehr nette Servicekraft war freundlich und informativ. Die Speisen wurden direkt und schnell aus der Küche persönlich gebracht. Das Ambiente locker und lässig. Das Bier auch etwas für Kölsche ... JA, wir kommen gern wieder!

So I asked where I could sit down with my colleagues. The waitress, named Natalja, replied rudely with “So? “Just sit there.” When she came to our table, the story continued: with a maximally dissatisfied face and short answers, she took our order and showed her dislike. If service in this style is normal for you, you will enjoy spending time there. However, if you respect yourself, you should choose another place or ask another waitress because the others were just amazing!

I have known and visited Vogel in Ettlingen for over 20 years. I've been away for a long time and now that my partner and I have just arrived back home, I wanted to visit the beer garden. That's the plan... We found a free seat outside, the table was so sticky that we got up and went to the next one. Here too the surfaces stuck; Overall, it didn't seem particularly inviting. There should be grilled chicken with fries. The food came very quickly and was carelessly prepared. The grilled chicken was dry, the fries were okay - but unfortunately nothing more. Overall the visit was a total disappointment. We finished eating outside quite quickly (as did other visitors), as whole swarms of blowflies came to the table with the food. It was more than just uncomfortable. When I think of visits from 10 years ago, I remember friendly, attentive and tough staff - real SERVICE staff with a personal touch. When I think of the food at Vogel in the past, it was never star cuisine, but it was exactly what Vogelbräu stands for and promotes: down-to-earth, good food. The price and performance were also right. Today that is no longer the case. Maybe we'll try it again in the winter; Currently there is no reason to come back again.

The waitress noticed it right away... and here's a big compliment... she straight up admitted that it was a Fritööösenschnitzel... did the Vogelbräu really need it???? It's a shame actually... That's it... PS: The waterless pee basin in the toilet is ok... but it shouldn't smell like urine...

Basically, breweries are similar, large rooms with high ceilings, two powerful copper brewing kettles exclusively placed on one side, often a gallery and, in the summer, a cozy beer garden. In addition, a tightly managed service and a kitchen that is geared towards quick turnaround. Sometimes there is a plastic tree in the middle. The Vogel Hausbräu is no different. It's a solid shop, the naturally cloudy beer is drinkable, the prices are very moderate, but at the expense of the quality of the goods purchased. For example, the beer biters don't work at all, they're far too greasy and have no taste. When purchasing, more attention should be paid to quality and probably also sustainability. The schnitzel comes far too quickly to be fresh out of the pan, the breading is far too dark, the taste makes up for the lemon, the brown sauce is supposed to be a beer sauce but is far too instant for me, the fries are perfectly fine . The service is very friendly and open to private, fun chat. But only until the clock strikes midnight, then warnings come very quickly to drink up and leave quickly. At five past twelve the manager comes along, accompanied by other tall men, probably from the kitchen, who tell you in an extremely unfriendly manner in which direction the exit is. That's pretty uncool when you know it will take at least half an hour to really clean everything up. Allowing yourself to drink in peace is part of good manners and the customs of a reputable restaurant. Conclusion: the treatment of guests and the food should be improved. The schnitzel is much better not far from the castle, so I would be happy to spend a euro more.

Four of us were there yesterday and were looking forward to a good beer at Vogelbräu after the castle festival. We ordered three yeast and a summer beer. Unfortunately yesterday's yeast beer tasted really smoky, like a mixture of yeast and smoky whiskey. I couldn't drink my beer and luckily my husband let me have his summer beer and we swapped. When we mentioned the strange taste at the front of the counter and later at the service, the only response we got was that no one had complained about it yet and that it tasted completely normal, even though all three of us looked at each other after the first sip and said so that it tastes totally smoky... Unfortunately, the table was also totally sticky and had some sauce stains.
