A wonderful wedding day with outstanding service! We celebrated my parents' wedding anniversary here, and it was a truly lovely afternoon. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was incredibly pleasant. A huge thank you to the staff, especially Ary: so attentive, child-friendly, and always with a smile – you immediately feel welcome! What was particularly great was that hospitality is truly valued here. They offered complimentary Limoncello, and a Cremino was always served with the espresso. We will definitely be back. We were there for a Christmas party, and I have to say it wasn't exactly a highlight. The service was pleasant, friendly, and very attentive. The food wasn't as amazing as we'd hoped. There was an appetizer plate for those with meat, and the vegetarian option was tomato and mozzarella – I expected more. They also offer vegetarian antipasti. The main course was entrecote with four potato wedges, which were supposed to be with rosemary (but were nowhere to be found), and a bit of peppercorn sauce. Unfortunately, there was no garnish or any vegetables – a real shame, very unimaginative. The vegetarian option was ravioli with ricotta, which were very good. Dessert was a chocolate cake, unfortunately underbaked. It was supposed to have a molten center, but it could have been done better. For some, the center had completely melted. Perhaps I'll come again privately and be pleasantly surprised. But I wouldn't hold another Christmas party there.

They have the best homemade pizzas and pastas for us. The pizza is so good that it almost hurts to leave the crust. I can't praise the ravioli enough – they're a highlight every time! The salad is also fresh and crisp, with a dressing that's simply amazing. The restaurant is incredibly child-friendly, the staff is warm and attentive, and they truly cater to every need. It's also in a great central location with plenty of parking, which makes visiting even more convenient. And let's not forget the excellent value for money. It's quite popular, so we always make a reservation to guarantee a table. A place where you immediately feel at home – and our absolute favorite restaurant! ❤️

I was truly surprised at the quality of this whole establishment! I ordered Spaghetti with Seafood with some Bruschetta as an Antipasto. The tomatoes on the Bruschetta were absolutely delicious, fresh and intense in their taste. They were very generous with the seafood (and the variety in seafood was amazing), really making the main meal taste like authentic Italian cuisine. The sauce for the pasta was delicious and the portion was quite big. All in all, it was an amazing dining experience, so I really recommend this restaurant with full confidence!

As an Italian, I can say that this is the only restaurant that makes me feel truly at home. The food is excellent, the staff is incredibly kind. Everything was absolutely amazing. The pizza was delicious and the dough was divine. The only thing I didn't like was that one waiter, who was probably new, cleared the plates even though someone at the table was still eating. The other waiters were very friendly and very nice and always asked if everything was okay. But otherwise, everything was great.

I'm from the area, but I had no idea we had such an excellent Italian restaurant here. Excellent cuisine with people who know their craft and practice it with passion. The food was simply stunning. The ambiance was lovely, and the service was incredibly friendly and professional. For me, it was a perfect evening. Perfect, too, because I had the most charming companion you could imagine.

Had to wait over 1 hour for our food even though the restaurant was half empty

Twice warmly welcomed – twice turned away from the kitchen My wife and I actually wanted to make Villa Martino in Waldshut our regular restaurant. Unfortunately, two experiences prevented us from doing so. Visit 1 (Carnival in February, shortly after noon): We received a very warm welcome in the entrance area; the dining room was busy. When we asked for a table, the receptionist explained (roughly): The chef said he would leave if he had to cook another dish – so they'd only serve pizza, not the regular menu. This, right after opening, surprised us; we left the restaurant empty-handed. Visit 2 (August 28, 2025, early afternoon): Again today, we received a friendly welcome. At the same time, we were informed that the kitchen was already closed ("since a quarter to two"). The notice stated that it was open until 2:30 p.m.; we arrived around 2:47 p.m. While staff were still working in the kitchen and there were plenty of free seats, no more food was being served. I understand kitchen hours, team boundaries, and full service. What I lack, however, is clear, guest-oriented communication and a minimum of leniency: A clearly marked "last order time," a small emergency menu (e.g., 2-3 dishes), or at least the offer of a simple pasta dish would have defused both situations. The tone was always friendly—but the decision still seemed less than guest-oriented. Conclusion: The ambiance and welcome were positive, but we were turned away twice in a row—once immediately after opening with the announcement "pizza at most," and once shortly after the advertised lunch time with no alternative option. That's disappointing and sticks with us. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback: Please clearly communicate the order deadline and offer a reduced menu when occupancy is high. Then we'll gladly give Villa Martino another chance.

Lantern Night August 17, 2025 I called for two weeks in vain to reserve a table for Lantern Night 2025. Their website didn't accept reservations for that day, so I asked to contact them by phone or email, but neither method worked. I then tried calling Säckingen, where they apologized and promised us a table. The day arrived, and no table had been reserved for us. After a long discussion, we finally got one. The food was very good, but we had to place our order in English because the waiter didn't speak or understand German.

Very, very tasty! We eat here often and it's always been very good. The staff is very friendly and you feel very comfortable. I love eating here and keep coming back.

There were eight of us, and we received very good and friendly service. Everyone was thrilled with the delicious food. The star pizza was fantastic. I've never eaten such a good pizza in my life. Very tasty and highly recommended. Prices are reasonable. In fact, they're relatively low.

We discovered this restaurant through a family celebration. We weren't familiar with it beforehand, but based on our impressions, we can only recommend it. We've rarely tasted such good and delicious Italian cuisine. The cold seafood platter, "Degustazione di Mare," is especially delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the ambience couldn't quite keep up: the room seemed rather cold and uncomfortable to us. The furnishings are certainly a matter of taste - a mix of modern style with old-fashioned elements, which didn't seem entirely harmonious to us. When we arrived we didn't feel particularly warmly welcomed, which was a shame - first impressions often count for a lot. Nevertheless, we would like to positively emphasize that our waiter was very friendly and attentive and served us well. Overall: food great, atmosphere could be improved

The pizza is simply delicious – exactly as it should be! The dough is super fluffy and easy to digest. The ingredients are fresh and the prices are fair, especially by Swiss standards. It's worth making a reservation on the weekend, but I can't judge it during the week. If there is an event going on in the back of the hall, the service sometimes takes a little longer, but overall everything is okay. The tiramisu is a real highlight - served in an original way in a mocha. The espresso is also very fine and typically Italian. We'll be happy to come back - you can now also reserve online, which we think is great!
