Vietnam Deli in Bonn

I've been there twice, and both times it was delicious. They have a selection of vegan dishes, the service is really friendly, and the restaurant is nicely decorated. :) However, they only accept cash payments. I think you might want to make a reservation after 7 p.m.

Very tasty food, which also impresses with its large vegan selection. Unfortunately, there were quite a few flies in the dining room; something needs to be done about that. But we'll be happy to come back.

We've always just ordered food and never eaten there. The food we've received has ALWAYS been a huge delight. Without exception, everything about it was cooked to perfection, whether it was vegetables or meat. We experience every time we go to Vietnam Deli how happy good food can make us. The kitchen knows what it's doing!

The food was ok, just a little bland. Bier was a bit flat, trust me I drink bitburg bier all the time and first taste I knew that was not it. Lady had a little attitude because we wanted to hang on to the menu after ordering. We decided nothing else at that point.

The vegan options are all incredibly delicious. My favorites are definitely the vegan curry with tofu and the vegan pho. The new way the food is delivered is also ideal. The vegetables are crisp and fresh, as they now come as a separate side dish. Always impressed :)

The three of us enjoyed a variety of inexpensive dishes and appetizers. Unfortunately, the duck dish was overcooked. But the rest was excellent.

Disappointment all around – never again! We were really looking forward to a delicious Vietnamese dinner and ordered summer rolls and two bun salads. The summer rolls were halfway decent – fresh, but nothing special in terms of taste. But what awaited us in the salads was simply a disgrace. The sad photo speaks volumes: The so-called "bun salads" were carelessly thrown into cheap plastic boxes – no effort, no care. The taste? More like hospital-grade bland food than Vietnamese cuisine. Instead of fresh, varied vegetables, there was almost exclusively iceberg lettuce with a few carrot strips – is that supposed to be authentic and appetizing? We paid a total of 50 euros, plus a 10 euro delivery fee, for this culinary fiasco. For that, I expect at least the minimum level of quality – but this was a complete failure. A bottomless impertinence that we definitely don't want to experience again. From us, our answer is: Never again. PS: To be fair, I have to add that we've eaten at the restaurant twice before and were quite satisfied. Unfortunately, the food delivered tonight was absolutely terrible.

What was particularly positive was the cleanliness of the entire restaurant; everything from the tables to the restrooms was very tidy. Overall, a truly harmonious experience. We ate at Vietnam Deli having decided to give it a try after we saw the review ratings. Contrary to the experiences others may have had in the past, the wait-staff were friendly, attentive and helpful; the atmosphere did not leave much to be desired, if you (reasonably) expected rustic and leisurely East-Asian-style charm. The food, however, was a different story. My partner had the Vegetable Wonton Soup from the starter menu, followed by a Pad Thai with Tuna. She specifically asked for the latter to be spicy, and had a lengthy conversation with the waitress to assure her that she was indeed highly accustomed to spicy food in general, and Asian and South Asian cuisine's levels of 'heat' specifically. Both dishes arrived bland and non-distinct in their flavour-profiles. The Classic Pho I ordered was 'so-so', not particularly distinctive, and in terms of my previous experiences with this dish and cooking style quite ordinary. We had eaten at a Vietnamese in 'Suedstadt' the day before, and the difference was like night and day.

The food and drinks are all delicious. You can try the dish I ordered—number 55S—and the Black Berry Tea!

Veggie Wonton Soup was very nice, and the Udon with Atlantic Shrimps was also very nice. The portions were truly royal, the staff was friendly, and the prices were fair. Also i personally loved the interior. Very nice decorations and the music was played at a very nice low level.

I just wanted to order food, but the guy on the phone doesn't speak German! He kept saying, "Sorry, I don't understand." When I said I'd have to order somewhere else, he said, "Yeah, okay. Bye." That's a good way to waste time when you're hungry. It's a shame. Luckily, there are other restaurants in Bonn.

The food was really good, and the price-performance ratio was really good. Everything was clean, everything was top-notch. The only thing is, the service could have been a bit faster.

Absolutely outrageous – that's no way to treat customers! I placed my order (26H) by phone today at 12:19 p.m. and arrived at the store on time to pick it up at 12:40 p.m. But what did they tell me? "There is no order." I could hardly believe it. I even showed the waiter my call history, and the best part: It was the exact same man on the phone who just ignored me! No apology, no attempt to make amends – just disinterest and incompetence. I came all the way from Alfter to eat here because the food used to be so good. But this incident was simply disrespectful, disappointing, and incredibly annoying. How can you treat someone like that?! A restaurant thrives on service – and if that's what it looks like, then good night. Maybe they should seriously consider hiring staff who understand German and also take responsibility. I'll definitely never come back – it was a huge disappointment.

Just take a look at the atmosphere and the customers here—why not treat yourself to a visit and enjoy the ambiance? The service is exceptionally friendly, and both the food and drinks are of excellent quality. I would recommend coming before 6 p.m., as it gets very busy later, and you may have to wait a bit—but it's definitely worth it.

The atmosphere is wonderful and the service excellent—they even offer little treats for kids. If you're in Bonn, you should visit this place at least once. There's a 30% discount on weekday mornings, and the dishes are served without waiting—really, really fast. I'm sure I'll be back in the future.

Awesome food!! A bit expensive but otherwise great

First of all. The food is extremely tasty. Rarely eaten so well. It is also visually beautifully presented and always looks great. You can see that it is prepared with passion. No restaurant that I know comes close. The staff is super friendly. We were there with our son (1 year old) and they often joked with him and simply put a few sliced ​​orange pieces there. Afterwards he got a cucumber. That was so sweet 😍 our little one was pretty happy about it ☺️ We'll go there again at any time.😃 The price-performance ratio can't be beat. We feel very comfortable and very welcome with you ☺️ We'd love to come back ☺️

Overall, the restaurant is very good and really recommended. Food and drinks were great. Unfortunately, it was a bit cold and the service left a lot to be desired. Very rarely does anyone come to the table to ask if everything is OK or to accept further requests for drinks. We went to the counter to pay because no one came for ages (the restaurant was about 50% full). We were then presented with the bill from another table, which fortunately we noticed and complained about (otherwise it would have been €20 more expensive and it simply wasn't our bill). The employee sincerely apologized, but an uneasy feeling still remains. As I said, the food and drinks impressed us (everything came to the table quickly), but the restaurant definitely still needs to work on the service.

I ate Pho Bo there. The portion was okay but the meat in the soup was quite dry. As a side dish I only got a quarter of lime and a few chili pieces, no bean sprouts as usual. The curry portion was also quite small but tasty. The price is okay too. However, the pho was disappointing (a bit bland) and that's coming from someone who likes to eat pho and make it themselves. Oh and the little water is really SMALL

I ordered a main course and a vegetarian soup to be delivered. When the delivery arrived and I wanted to unpack the food in peace at home, I saw that the soup had leaked. I called the restaurant and told them what happened. According to the employee, it was the supplier's fault and I should complain. But the way it was all packed up, I don't think you can say it in such general terms. The lid was still on and there was a hole visible on the side. Well in the end I was just unlucky, there was nothing that could be done. I definitely won't order from there again and won't recommend it because I've never had such bad customer service, even though I was very friendly. I am very disappointed with this.

The only thing that was okay about this restaurant was the food. We came in and had to wait until someone assigned us a table. The restaurant was completely empty except for one table. So it wasn't that. Drinks took forever. They were the only ones we got. After the meal, no waiter was seen. A starter was forgotten. Plates weren't cleared away. No questions were asked about dessert or other drink requests. We were seated in the back of the restaurant and shared the relatively large room with the children playing in the restaurant. They played catch and hide-and-seek in the restaurant with several children. That was very loud and stressful. The food was okay but not so good that you would go there again given the service.

Fried chicken ok. The other one (just cooked, looks white) tastes exactly the same as if you cooked it today, without oil, without spices and then didn't put it in the fridge and warmed it up in the microwave 24 hours later. Service says we have no cutlery, so no fork or spoon, just chopsticks. Ambiance is depressing and stinks

Oh well. So I'm not coming back.

Super delicious food - also vegan

Two of us had dinner there at the weekend. The menu is very extensive. There is always a basic dish that can be supplemented with various ingredients such as chicken, beef, duck or shrimp. We enjoyed it. The staff was very polite and always eager to please the guest. The homemade lemonades are also very good. We'll definitely be back, thank you.

Very good restaurant that serves extremely tasty and classic Vietnamese food. The edamame as a starter are recommended because they are not only salted but also lightly marinated in oil. There are many vegetarian dishes. The mango curry with tofu and seitan strips is highly recommended. The rice comes in a separate bowl, as does a small salad. Good restaurant and highly recommended. Attention, no card payment possible.

The food tastes very good, it's just a shame that my first order gave me a warm cola and no napkins! This time I picked it up the second time, one menu was OK, the other was in the wrong place. I actually meant breaded and not fried... I also had an important question on the phone, which I expressed as clearly as I could, but I still wasn't understood and repeated it several times. Too bad

You can't choose your own seat:-(! It's way too expensive in an Asian restaurant, they didn't have white rice and no bean sprouts, that's ridiculous!! For almost €70, it's way too expensive and the portions are way too small :-( more for children but not for a hungry man. The worst thing was the food, for example, soup, a huge bowl, but only 1/2 of a soup ladle and only luke warm. I can't say who gave a good rating understand:- (( We were there on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 at 8:30 p.m. I can only advise against it!!

Unfortunately that was nothing... The starters were delicious, the sauces had the consistency of a very liquid soup. For the main course, the duck was so dry and overcooked... We've never had that before. When asked, they said it was fried. Does that mean fried means far dry? You can see that it is quite dark on the outside and has had no contact with the grill, etc. on the inside. The menu also advertises healthy black rice. This has absolutely nothing to do with black rice. Furthermore, the calibration mark is missing on the water glass... The seat of the toilet should be tightened. Also strange that the floor of the dining room is their cold storage room for salad? It's definitely not what it's supposed to be. We thought that the salad would be put away during our almost 1.5 hour time...

Went here for the first time by chance in December, and today was our fifth visit... The food was more than tasty, good selection, fresh ingredients. The young service team is always friendly, polite and sometimes has a wink. The restaurant is really comfortably furnished. Happy again at any time, absolutely worth a visit...

Unfortunately, our visit was not entirely satisfactory. Service seemed disorganized and wait times were unusually long - for both drinks and food. Some orders arrived late or incorrectly, and inquiries were not always answered professionally. Although the quality of the food was fine, the overall experience was marred by the long wait times and lack of attentive service.

We were really disappointed with our experience. Initially, I gave one star but have decided to increase it to two. The issues started right at the entrance with an unfriendly welcome. After finally being led to our table, we waited 10 minutes just to receive the menus and another 10 minutes before we could place our drink order. However, our drinks didn’t arrive until at least 20 minutes later. When the cocktails—priced at around €8 each—finally arrived, we noticed they contained only about 200 ml. We measured the amount in a water glass and brought it up with the staff. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the waiter argued with us, insisting it was the same amount as in a large cola glass. After some back and forth, they eventually gave us a bit more. By 9:15 PM—an hour after our arrival—only the sushi had arrived, while the other appetizers were still missing. When we pointed this out, the waiter reacted inappropriately by making a joke—he placed the food in front of one of our guests, then acted as if he was about to take it away again. Given the already frustrating delays, this felt unnecessary and unprofessional. After yet another 20 minutes, our appetizers finally arrived, but only after being delivered to the wrong table first. A particularly concerning issue was that the edamame, labeled as vegan, were served with butter. When we asked about this, the waiter said he would check but never came back with an answer. The main courses took just as long. When they finally arrived, one was incorrect. By the time my dish came, my companions had already been eating for 10 minutes. The overall waiting time for our food was simply unacceptable. To make things worse, the service was disorganized and dismissive of customer concerns. Guests who had arrived before us were served even later than we were. While the food itself wasn’t bad, the extreme waiting times, poor service, and unprofessional handling of complaints completely overshadowed the experience. We had high expectations based on the good reviews, but we left feeling very disappointed. And at the end of our meal, no one even bothered to ask if everything was okay—something that should be standard practice in any restaurant. The four of us all work in the hospitality industry ourselves, so we understand that things don’t always go perfectly. We know what it’s like to be in this job and usually have a lot of patience. But this experience was simply not acceptable, and there’s no excuse for service this poor.

Positive - Children's menu with sweet potato fries - Prices at lunchtime are decent (30% discount) - Service nice and friendly. - Quiet ambience & lots of space. - Fresh ingredients - diverse menu Negative - relatively small portions - Despite the diverse menu, it's unclear what exactly the dish is. We were there and chose several dishes. It was a bit difficult to figure out exactly what the names of the dishes meant. Even with a Google search. I found the portions to be a bit small

2 Speisen zum Mitnehmen- a 15,90€. In einem Essen gab es ganze 2 Stückchen Hähnchenfleisch. Das Fleisch des zweiten Gerichts war schlicht pup-trocken. Ein kleines Bier, während der Wartezeit, Fehlanzeige. Nur Riesenbier. Kartenzahlung- Fehlanzeige Sprachliche Verständigung-Fehlanzeige. Offensichtlich hat es einen Inhaberwecheel gegeben. Ich habe diese Lokal aus meiner Liste gestrichen.

Had to go to the opera and the staff rushed to get there. It was also very tasty and the portions were decent.

Two tiny spring rolls for 6 euros are borderline, but 7 euros for a bottle of tap water is outrageous. Not here anymore.......

We only ordered food when I was sick, and guys, that's MEGA. Sushi were super tasty and large, even though we were already full, we ate them all the way to the end. Simply 10/10. And as far as Vietnamese cuisine goes... I'm full again, but incredibly happy with my order. Super tasty, keep it up!

The food here was absolutely amazing. Everything was served nicely and the food was out in no time at all. The staff was friendly and gave us some good reccommendations, which I found very mindful. The atmosphere is also fitting, it all felt pretty authentic. The choice of music was just ever so slightly off-putting. Aside from that, 5/5 I reccommend!
