⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very delicious Vietnamese food – fresh, served hot, and in generous portions. You can sit outside in the pedestrian zone and enjoy your meal when the weather's nice. The service was friendly, fast, and attentive. Everything was clean, including the restrooms. Absolutely top-notch value for money. Definitely a clear recommendation – I'd be happy to come back!

It was nice to sit outside. It gets quite busy in the evening.

We went there for dinner; my better half had been recommending it to me for a while. When we ordered, the starter came before the drinks, which was a bit surprising. Then the main course came, and we were extremely disappointed. Both dishes were warm at best, not even remotely hot, the meat was tough, and the food was bland. The price was reasonable, though. Unfortunately, we realized later at home that it wasn't good. We won't be coming back; there are better alternatives in Bonn.

The quality of the food was poor. Some of the vegetables were damaged.

Everything was very tasty...but the food in Vietnam was different. It may vary regionally. I'd be happy to eat there again.

There were three of us, and it was very busy during the day, so I thought it made sense to make a reservation shortly beforehand. Our food still came very quickly, and the portions were very generous. We enjoyed it. The restrooms could have been a bit cleaner, though, and we were overlooked a few times. Still, it's highly recommended; we'd be happy to come back.

A chic little restaurant, easy to reach, plenty of space, and a wonderful atmosphere. I value great food, and you can really enjoy it here; you're never disappointed. The Pho soup is very tasty. I definitely recommend it.

Came here for lunch and were not disappointed. The service was friendly, not the fastest but honestly we were not in a hurry so nobody minded at all! The food was good, a bit bland but they had some Chili sauce to spice it up. The mango salad was quite bland and the papaya salad not spicy at all but I guess you can’t expect that in a small German city 😅😄 We had a very pleasant time there! It’s a decent Asian/Vietnamese westernised restaurant.

The chicken meat is very very low quality.

Mixed plate. Worth every cent. Service is fast and friendly. I'd go back anytime. 😅The only thing is that the restrooms in the basement are difficult to reach for people with walking disabilities.

The tables on the street are close together, there were two young men sitting next to her who spoke for an hour so that I had to stuff napkins into my ears to escape the pain. The portion of pho is large, but it vaguely resembles the photo. The meat is tasteless, the broth is not very good. They didn't give me lime or mint either. Pho is 13.90

I ordered the Pho Xao (vegetarian) – it was okay, a bit on the bland side for my taste, but not bad at all. 🍜🥬 The Mango Mint Lemonade was the real star of the meal – super refreshing and full of flavor! 🍹🥭🌿 I’d definitely come back just for that. Finished off with Banh Ran for dessert and it was delicious – warm, perfectly cooked, and a great way to end the meal. 🍩🔥😋 Would recommend for a casual meal with a few standout items! 💫

Went there for dinner yesterday on a whim. The creamy coconut curry was completely watery and unseasoned...it was basically broccoli soup. The rice noodles with shrimp were a disgrace. Just warm noodles in cheap coconut milk with nothing...the only thing that tasted good was the fried appetizer 🤷‍♂️

Fresh, delicious food that arrived very quickly. However, it definitely should have been hotter; it was lukewarm at best. The table next to us also noted this.

Great Vietnamese restaurant in Bonn! Cay Tre is easy to reach by public transport and there are several parking garages nearby - so it's also easy to get by car. The staff is very friendly and attentive, you immediately feel welcome. The menu offers a great selection - there is something for every taste. The food was consistently delicious, freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Particularly noteworthy is the price-performance ratio – great! We'll definitely be back. A reservation is recommended as the restaurant is busy - and rightly so!

We (couple of 2 people) had reserved in advance because we knew from previous visits that Saturdays are always busy. When we arrived for our reserved time, we were informed that we could only sit outside. A reservation for the indoor area would not be possible. If we don't want this we should leave again. Dear ladies and gentlemen from the service team: This is not true. We have made reservations in your restaurant several times and have always been seated inside. We question the idea of ​​enjoying a warm meal at 7 p.m. at 6°C. We then left without eating and will certainly not come back, also because of your rude request: "If you don't want this, then just go somewhere else". That's not how you treat guests.

First of all, the food was good and I would come back. Unfortunately we waited a very long time. I had to watch as the food from the kitchen waited several minutes to be brought to the tables. Sometimes it went back because no one knew which table it was supposed to be at. The kitchen is not the weak point here, but rather the lack of coordination in the service. I hope it was just a blip today, because the people were very nice, especially the waitress. In my opinion, she had the insight. I hope for the best and keep my fingers crossed

The best Vietnamese in Bonn! The staff is so incredibly nice, you feel super comfortable and welcome. The menu is really huge, the dishes are large and the price-performance ratio is really great. I always like to come back! 😊

I came across this restaurant by chance and I am completely amazed. I love Vietnamese food and it is particularly good here. The food is fresh and there are many vegetarian and vegan options. The service was quick and friendly. Overall, highly recommended.

I've been eating there regularly for a year. It's really very very good. Unfortunately, the food never arrives warm to the guest. Therefore points deducted. Better organization with the kitchen and the distribution of food would be desirable.

Overpriced, untasty food. What annoyed us was that they use authentic name for very germanized-served dishes. I was so happy to see "Kho tộ" and what came out was stir-fry beef with so many different vegetables swimming in liquid juice. My boyfriend is a German but he could recognize right away that his Bun bo la lot was served in a wrong way (everything mixed together in a big plate, meanwhile they should be served separately), and the meat was tasteless /badly-seasoned. We don't have problems with germanized food, but if you can't serve the food in an authentic way, stop putting the wrong name in the menu so people can make decisions according to their personal preferences. The waiter was super unfriendly and didn't call the dishes properly (we were there at around 20:30 on 27/02/2025). We already had our favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Bonn and still wanted to try out this new one. But from this experience we will just never come here again.

Overall, the restaurant is recommended - there are better and worse Vietnamese restaurants in Bonn. Unfortunately, the summer rolls on the appetizer plate stuck together so badly that they had to be cut apart so that they wouldn't open when separated. But the main courses were excellent.

Honestly: a complete disappointment. The food was simply bad, for example I ordered a "creamy" coconut curry, what came was a watery, inedible mush. My wife also had an inedible dish. We were surprised that the food arrived after what felt like 2 minutes, which is never a good sign. When I brought up the bad food when paying, there was no apology or effort of any kind to salvage the situation. So after what felt like 15 minutes we were back outside, the food remained. Too bad!

I ordered from you yesterday via uber eats and didn't think the food was good for the prices quoted. Very bland. The noodles were in a tasteless curry mash with a few vegetables and meat. But what shocks me the most is that the price quoted for the noodles at uber eats is about twice as much as what you get in your restaurant! (see photo) Is it still okay? I can understand that you have to compensate for the fees (although as a customer you already pay extra via uber eats €4 delivery + €2 service), but please not to this extent. It would be nice if you please take a look at it again and adjust your pricing because it really makes you feel very shitty. For 10€ like in your restaurant you can ignore the boring taste because the portion size was right, but charging 20€ for delivery is simply extortionate. Too bad

All in all, it's really great and tasty. Ambiance was very cozy. Unfortunately there are no chairs inside (downstairs) but benches. So if you have back problems you should take a seat against the wall. The food was delicious. Very diverse. The papaya salad wasn't quite to our taste. The “Tom Chien” was very tasty. Just like the noodle dish “Mien Xao” and the rice dish “Teriyaki Salmon”. However, a bit too many onions for my taste. The staff was very friendly and what you don't eat you can take home with you

This Vietnamese restaurant, which is extremely cozy, offers a huge number of vegetarian dishes. I ordered spicy (wok-cooked) vegetables with tofu, COM SA OT, which tasted really delicate. This dish consists of Broccoli, mushrooms. Carrots, zucchini, lemongrass, chili, onions, bean sprouts and coriander. The broccoli was still really crunchy. However, the rice side dish was quite poor - in complete contrast to the really large portion of COM SA OT. For drinks I had a large pineapple spritzer and a delicious jasmine tea. The service was friendly, courteous and quick. This Vietnamese restaurant on charming Friedrichstrasse is definitely worth a visit.

I come here regularly - highly recommended. I can highly recommend the summer rolls, the pho soups, the curry with rice and the glass noodles with lukewarm coconut sauce. Both the tofu is very tasty, as is the beef + beef broth

Unfortunately we found the food very bland. We had 4 pasta dishes and all of them were way too dry and honestly didn't taste like anything. However, the wine selection is good. ;) Unfortunately the only positive thing.

Food wasn’t authentic and good at all. Flavours of very different dishes were the same … some curry mixture that doesn’t resemble Vietnamese cuisine. The spring rolls weren’t filled rich and the cocktails didn’t contain alcohol.

If you're very hungry, you'll definitely get full here. There are large portions that are also pleasing to the eye. In terms of taste, however, I find it to be rather mixed. However, the homemade lemonades are very tasty.

Were in Bonn today and decided on the Cay Tre restaurant because we liked the daily menu. A wise decision, nice, friendly service staff and very tasty, well-prepared food and drinks and at unusually low prices. I can really recommend the restaurant. We will definitely be happy to come back.

Delicious food, but my soy intolerance was simply ignored, which is not possible. On the allergen menu it said that there was no soy in it and I asked again if it was soy-free, which I was told was yes. In the end I got something with tofu and when I explained that unfortunately I couldn't eat it for health reasons, the tofu was apparently just taken away in the kitchen and the same thing was given to me again instead of preparing the food again. Unfortunately, I'm now sitting at home with severe stomach cramps and diarrhea.

Simply amazing! I was for vacation in Vietnam and i loved so much the food! I chose cay tre and bring me all the great memories, felt like i was in Vietnam. Food was soooo delicious and portions so big!!! Even though i loved it, i could not finish. Noodles and meat dish is for 2 people. I totally recommend the place

So the food was really tasty! It was super quick, we didn't wait long. The waitress looked after us very kindly and took great care of us. What wasn't so good: The "young" boss, who at the beginning walked around the restaurant totally annoyed and "mumbled" at us because we had a reservation and didn't explicitly reserve for outside...

Family friendliness, especially for small children, could still be worked on. There was a high chair, but the buckle for the straps was broken so my child could not be secured. There was no other high chair. In the end we didn't eat there.

We were surprised by the fast and friendly service. The food came promptly and was fresh and hot. In our opinion, it wasn't seasoned enough or lacked the "pepp" or "wow" taste. Still, everything we had was delicious and we would come back. When it comes to ambience, Friedrichstrasse has its own special flair.

Allergy sufferers beware: Even if it's not on the menu, there are peanuts in practically everything! The menu says: 2 summer rolls for 5€ but you only get ONE, which is cut into 2 parts, previously there were really 2 rolls. Bitter. The place used to be much better, but unfortunately the prices are rising and the portions are getting smaller. Very unfortunate. It's a real shame, I have previously recommended the store without reservation, but definitely not anymore.

Good restaurant with outdoor dining

A discovery, by chance, eaten there once, and of course eaten there again a week later, becomes a regular restaurant in Bonn.

Unfortunately very poor service and not customer oriented! We wanted to have something to eat for two on a Wednesday afternoon. The terrace was hardly occupied, there were around 10 tables free. However, the only free tables for two were right next to tables where people smoked. Since I'm pregnant, we asked the waiter if we could sit at a table for 4 a little further away (and also told her that I was pregnant!). The table could have easily been pulled apart within 2 seconds as it was just two small tables pushed together. But after she asked the other waiter, this wasn't possible and he just shook his head and laughed. We then left because, as a pregnant woman, I don't sit down at a distance of just 40 cm from the smoking table next door. This is how you scare away guests!

Extremely unfriendly staff. When politely asked whether the food for the fifth person at the table had perhaps been forgotten, the impudent answer came: “Don’t stress!” When asked about it when leaving the restaurant, they said it wasn't his problem, but that of the kitchen. Disappointing. Lots of vegetables, but already pre-cooked when they go into the wok. At around 9:20 p.m. chairs are stacked and the bill comes automatically, even if you are still eating. Service correct, but not particularly friendly. A pity.

It was my first contact with Vietnamese food. It was delicious and my concerns about whether I would like it were unfounded. Many flavors combined and balanced. It takes a while to get through the menu, but the dishes are well explained. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. We'll definitely come back and keep trying... 👍

Nothing special....just your average Vietnamese food....it is delicious, in the city center and offers the variety of food you know from other Vietnamese restaurants. Is good to stop and grab a bite if u feel like a little bit of a healthier food.

Update 5/13/24 Unfortunately very negative feedback today The man in the serving team was very unfriendly. At the end we were indirectly asked to leave. Probably because we ordered three drinks in a row. Too bad so not good. Even the waitress at our table was embarrassed. eat good Very tasty right in the city center Unfortunately, the guests at the next table were shouted at by the waitress when they closed the door because it was cold. That's a no-go.
