I can't understand the good reviews, as if people have never really eaten Italian before?! The floor wasn't really clean, and hygiene is very important in restaurants. On the way to the toilets, I took a look at the kitchen, everything was greasy and unclean. The food was a disaster!! Portions are extremely small! The food came 5 minutes after ordering. Lukewarm. So it wasn't fresh either. When I asked the waitress when paying that the portions were very small and definitely from the microwave (frozen), she said, okay, I'll let you know. So she didn't say that the sweetness was fresh and not from the microwave!!! For the money you can go to a real Italian restaurant and not some junk!

1. No Italians but big Italy flags 2. I've never had such a bad espresso in my life.. 3. We don't even need to talk about food. I have to add that even more was cashed in. And I charge €3.40 for an espresso, I pay the same in the elegant Alex at the harbor with a beautiful view of the Elbe. So wow 1 star is still too much

Don't let the reviews fool you!!!! Food came after 5 minutes! Lukewarm and tasted like a microwave!!!! A children's portion would have been more filling!!!! Never again !!!

We spent two days in Hamburg and ate at Vesuvio on both days. The pizza, pasta and steak were all excellent. The service was A1, very warm, competent and quick. We would be happy to come back on our next visit to Hamburg.

The restaurant impresses with its stylish ambience, friendly service and excellent cuisine. I was particularly impressed by the fresh ingredients and the creative selection of dishes - my steak was perfectly prepared. The dessert menu is also a highlight. Had the Chicken schnitzel at lunch and the first stomach growl happened 15 mins into the train journey to the airport. It's now 4 hours later and the meal has fully vacated my body at Hamburg airport toilets. Would not recommend.

We were in Hamburg for two days and had dinner in this restaurant on both evenings. In the street it is immediately noticeable because of the lighting that shines on the house, in the colors of the Italian flag. We were served very nicely by Bella. We would recommend it to anyone who is in Hamburg near the main train station. Great service and great food!

The food - 8 people was excellent Unfortunately, the service was subpar: major linguistic misunderstandings both when eating and when ordering drinks! It took 65 minutes for the food to finally arrive and no food was served: it came 20 minutes later. Conclusion: the food tastes very good, if you have a lot of time and understanding...

Three of us came without a reservation. The staff was very friendly and we were served quickly. Price performance was completely fine, food was very good and plentiful. The only drawback: it wasn't really clean; the floor was pretty dirty and old napkins were lying around.

The food was quite good, we enjoyed it, but the service was, in a word, tragic. They brought food that belonged to another table, then didn't bring one meal at all. So we subsequently canceled one meal because we didn't want it anymore. Numbers are also foreign to them. Instead of 5 glasses, they brought 4.

All 5 stars from me. Living proof that service is also possible in Germany. Warm, attentive and delicious food, you can feel the effort and skill. Nice view of the main train station. The only ugly thing are the old HVV diesel buses - which fortunately you can neither hear nor smell.

Food was too spicy, garlic sauce was initially a dill tip, after further inquiries crushed garlic with oil was added. So no aioli either. Overall, the impression was that the staff was a bit overwhelmed

War am selben Tag sowohl mittags als auch abends hier (ja ich weiss...) Essen abends sogar besser als mittags. Zu beiden Zeiten sehr junges, bemühtes (nicht negativ gemeint!!!) Und absolut zugewandt wirkendes Personal. Habe nach ewiger Zeit ein echtes Lächeln gesehen. Tausend Dank für den krönenden Abschluss meines Hamburg-Trips

Very nice service team kept asking if everything was okay and OK, food came to the table quite quickly after ordering. Food tastes very good, normal portions, price-performance ratio, optimal, would recommend the restaurant again and again.

Pizza with inferior toppings, even the frozen pizza from the discounter that you can bake yourself tastes better. Service not particularly friendly.

Vi var så heldige at få et bord her nytårs aften. Vi havde ikke booket bord, men vi var heldige at vi dagen før havde snakket med dem og de ville sikre vi havde en plads. Der er en rigtig god atmosfære i restauranten. Vi fik hurtig betjening og maden var virkelig god. Trods den var fuld af mennesker, så man hele tiden mad komme løbende til de spisende gæster. Det er klart et sted værd et spise.

Wir hatten eine Grillblatte gegessen, war nichts besonderes, das Rindersteak war zäh.

Abreisebedingt einfach was Schnelles vor Abreise am Bahnhof gesucht. Vorab: Die negativen Rezessionen sind nicht nachvollziehbar. Das Restaurant ist sauber, der Außenbereich gepflegt. Das Personal sehr flott und freundlich. Sonderwünsche werden auch bei dem reichhaltigen Angebot gerne berücksichtigt. Die Zutaten sind frisch und in guter Qualität, keine Frage. Die Küche versteht ihr Handwerk sehr gut, alle Speisen (bei uns Antipasti, Pizza und Saltimbocca) geschmacklich topp. Die Pizza darf sich wirklich Pizza nennen. Der Teig ist fantastisch ausgebacken, die Sauce gut gewürzt und der Belag echt spitze. Spricht für einen guten Pizzaiolo mit Geschick für seinen Ofen. Auch die Kritik an den Toiletten sind nicht gerechtfertigt. Neu saniert, ansprechendes Design und keinerlei Geruch, wie oft bemängelt. Die Freundlichkeit des Personal sei auch nochmal erwähnt. Zu unserem Besuch kam eine Reisegruppe mit +20 Personen ins Restaurant. Das Personal hat natürlich rotiert, war am Tisch jedoch immer freundlich und wirkte nicht gehetzt. Beim nächsten Hamburg-Besuch auf jeden Fall wieder, keine Frage. Und die negativen Rezessionen sowie das Klischee "Bahnhofsnähe" dürfen gerne ignoriert werden. Es lohnt sich definitiv ein Besuch!

Ich sag es so wie es ist hab noch nie so eine Pizza gegessen die war unglaublich der Teig was 10/10 der Belag genau so. Ich war letzten Freitag dort und als ich mit meinem Kollegen an dem Tag da war meinten wir direkt nächste Woche wieder und wir gehen Freitag wieder dahin und ich freu mich sehr und noch was die Mitarbeiter auch 10/10 so nett und freundlich haben die mit mir geredet auf so einer freundschaflichen Ebene auch mal paar Witze gemacht und so wirklich super.

Italienisches Restaurant mit guter Auswahl. Sehr gute Küche und top zubereitet. Kann man nur empfehlen.

Gute italienische Küche gleich beim Hauptbahnhof. Gutes Essen, freundliche Bedienung, faire Preise und Portionen zum satt werden.

Haben 1h auf das Essen gewartet und die Pizzen waren kalt. Der Kellner war überfordert und wir haben die falsche Pizza bekommen.

Waren gestern Mittag dort. Sehr freundliches Personal und sehr gutes Essen.

Der Italiener macht doch tatsächlich bessere Schnitzel als der deutsche Nebenan und das auch spät abends.

Decent food. Not great, not bad. Nothing special about the place or food. Just went there because we were very hungry and there were empty tables. So won't recommend to "plan" having food there. Instead, if you are nearby and want a quick bite, you won't be disappointed.

Direkt am Hauptbahnhof HH gelegen,toller Laden die Kellner sind mega flink das italienische Essen schmeckt bombastisch!!

War mit meiner Tochter dort essen. Die Bedienung ist sehr, sehr, freundlich. Da ich keine Tomaten mochte, hat mir die Bedienung sofort Brötchen mit Kräuterbutter gebracht. Die Lasagne und die Pizza waren sehr schnell da und alles war frisch zubereitet. Es hat super geschmeckt. Wenn wir das nächste mal in Hamburg sind, werden wir aufjedenfall wieder zum essen kommen.

Das ist ein Haus für den schnell gestillten großen Hunger. Eine Pizzeria direkt am Hauptbahnhof kann kein Sternerestaurant sein. Hier geht es um Quantität für viele Gäste. Entsprechend schnell kam unsere Frutti di mare (36 cm, 14,80 Euro), war aber ordentlich. Der Kellner war freundlich. Auf die Hygieneregeln wurde von einzelnen Gästen nicht geachtet.

Tuve una pizza deliciosa. Un poco caro, quizás, pero bueno. El servicio fue excelente y sin duda volveré a visitarlo.

Gran sorpresa tuvimos con mi esposa con este restaurant de comida italiana -situado casi al lado de la estación de trenes y de nuestro hotel-, pues la verdad es que fue mucho más de lo que esperábamos. Primero que todo, el interior estaba muy bien decorado, el servicio fue ameno y rápido, y los platos muy bien preparados. Mi esposa se sirvió un calzone, una especie de empanada gigante, y yo me serví penne con pomodoro, salsa de tomate natural. El postre fue un delicioso helado de crema. A pesar de que llegamos tarde a cenar, en el restaurant en ningún momento nos apuraron para que comiéramos rápido y el personal pudiera irse. Este local fue uno de los puntos altos de nuestra estadía en Hamburgo, el cual recomiendo a ojos cerrados.

Wij zijn 15 februari 2020 hier wezen eten en het was goed. Verwacht geen 2 of 3 sterren maaltijd, maar waar voor je geld. Het was gezellig druk en wij hebben geen negatieve ervaring met het eten-bediening-hygiëne gehad. Wat ons betreft een goed restaurant.

I have read quite a few negative reports about this restaurant but I must say that for us it was exceptional. The food was excellent, the service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was clean and tidy. We actually ate there twice and wanted to go back again on our last day but unfortunately time wasnt on our side. The Pizza with Salmon and Mozzarella which I ate on our first visit was the best I have ever eaten. On the secong visit I ate Noodles Vesuvio, which was a pasta dish with turkey pieces and a creamy orange sauce. It was excellent. The food my wife ate was also very very good. The portions were quite bis so you most definitely do not leave there still hungry.

I was served a calzone pizza with raw mushrooms bit I thought oh well perhaps in Hamburg it’s different. Omg how rude was the waiter !! When we went to leave a tip he said “ 15% or don’t bother!!” Believe me the food isn’t worth a 15% tip!!

Unfriendly waiters. Normal value for price. In general, the unkind and unfriend service made the experience very disappointing :(

Weizen bestellt, Duckstein erhalten. Austausch erfolgte immerhin ohne Murren. Eine Entschuldigung wäre sicher zu viel verlangt gewesen. Pizza steht in 2 Größen auf der Karte. Warum der bräsige Kellner nicht nach dem Größenwunsch fragt, weiß er wohl nur selbst. Pizza Quattro Stagione normalerweise so belegt, dass man die 4 Abteilungen genau sieht. Hier aber: alle Beläge gleichmäßig auf dem Boden verteilt, nach dem Motto, "im Magen kommt sowieso alles zusammen". Boden ist schön dünn, schmeckt aber irgendwie eigenartig. Ich kam nicht genau auf den Geschmack, aber irgendwie schmeckte die ganze Pizza nach Geschmacksverstärker bzw. Maggi. Champignon waren frisch und stellten wohl die hochwertigste Zutat dar. Käse und Schinken ohne Eigengeschmack. Artischocken aus der Lake, in Öl eingelegt wären sie schmackhafter gewesen. Salami OK. Alles in allem spielt das Vesuvio die Lagekarte aus. Die ist gut, beim Rest muss man deutliche Abstriche hinnehmen.

Zentrale Lage, Essen wurde schnell gebracht (Salat und Pizzabrot). Der Salat war allerdings für knapp 10€ mit fertigem Dressing aus der Flasche zubereitet. Das fand ich schade. Wir hätten doch eine Pizza bestellen sollen (am Nachbartisch sahen die super aus). Das Pizzabrot war in Ordnung.

Die Speisekarte schien OK, wenn man aber nur fast 'abwesend' bedient wird, vom Koch- Chef beschimpft wird und dann vor den Toiletten von dem GESTANK erschlagen wird, egal wie das Essen ist, ist der Spaß schon längst vorbei. Also NIE WIEDER.

Vi var 3 personer - hvor jeg havde besluttet at vi skulle spise på Block House, den var lukket - "lørdag aften" - vi "faldt" for Restuarant Vesuvio - alt var "næsten" ok - men, ved betalingen hvor vi gav drikkepenge efter "store" opfordringer blev det modtaget med et "Mamma Mia" i negativ retning (i min verden er det skuffelse). Nabobordet som også var Danskere tror jeg ikke kommer igen - vi gør det ikke - Heldigvis fandt vi på denne weekendtur andre restauranter som havde lært - SERVICE- og tak for "drikkepenge" uanset hvor stort beløbet er.

Das Ristorante befindet sich gleich gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof. Die Zutaten auf der Pizza waren nicht besonders gut.

Die Minestrone war klasse, der Pizzateig war der Beste den ich seit Jahren probiert habe. Leider hatte ich die Pizza...

I had travelled from Dortmund to Hamburg by train and had some time for lunch before heading to the airport for my flight home. When I came out of the railway station I saw Vesuvio and thought a little pasta and salad would be perfect....
