Vedang - plant burger (P-Berg) in Berlin

I'm leaving my original review down below, for clarity. I ate there while they were still 100% vegan, which I loved. Also, as you can read down below, I was super happy and still believe the food was on point. However, sadly, since then they have introduced cow beef (yep, they're not not fully vegan anymore), which I personally find to be a) the wrong move, b) bad for the environment and every individual slaughtered, and c) confusing to customers that let themselves be fooled by reviews from vegans like me who simply did not notice that they changed their menu since their review. So, this is simply to clarify that. Still, great food options and delicious vegan food, but sadly it's not all vegan, and that's why, personally, I'll likely not go there again. Original review (items referred to were 100% vegan): Awesome place! Really fast preparation, and both the nuggets as well as the cheesy fries with bacon were stunning! We should’ve gone for more 😅 100% recommend going!!

I strongly advise against eating burgers here! I recently ate a vegan burger and fries here and got extreme food poisoning a few hours later. I had stomach pains and kept vomiting. I wonder what is going on in this kitchen that I had to experience such terrible symptoms of poisoning. For me it borders on bodily harm. Never again Vedang!!!

Vedang used to be really good place for Vegan burgers but now they suddenly sell meat too? When ordering from Wolt I assumed everything was vegan until I took another look and saw that they added cow meat to their menu which is not cool as they started off as a all vegan restaurant. Also something happened to the quality as I feel the burgers got smaller and our Beyond Smash burgers has no onions, tomatoes or pickles in them. Just two beyond meat patties, vegan cheese, some kind of mayo and pickle relish sauce? I used to love their bacon chili cheese fries but after these burgers I don't think I will go back even if it were for those fries.

We came in a group. Some received their food quickly, others had to wait over 30 minutes. Fast food takes on a completely different taste. When asked to leave out an ingredient, people nod happily. The food arrived with the ingredient that was not tolerated. Sauces that were paid for separately also had to be requested separately. Burger was ok, fries were subpar. It's a shame, because the price doesn't justify such below-average food and the waiting time. Another big negative point is that there is no toilet.

The vegan burger was okay. Nothing special. Atleast I didn't find it special. I personally didn't like the sweet chilly sauce too much. It made it too sweet. Although I do appreciate the effort to promote vegan cuisine

Snack bar, delicious burgers and fries with a large selection of different toppings, many vegan burgers or even with meat. Very suitable for ordering and picking up or having delivered. You can also eat on site, but the furnishings are very spartan and functional and rather uncomfortable.

Great experience! Arrived today from London and their double beef smash burger ticked all the boxes. Others ordered vegan meals and they were very careful to cook the ‘meats’ separately. Great value and now very full!

Nuggets and fries were completely tasteless. The burger ban is flabby like at McDonalds. It took forever in the empty Redtaurant. There are much better shops all around.

Vedang gave/gives away free ice cream with a 5 star rating, so don't be put off by the good reviews. At most, the sides are okay, everything else doesn't taste good (even the burgers with Beyond Meat, how do you manage that?!). Since there are now hacked up animals here again, this is no longer a safe space where you can be sure that you won't accidentally chew on animals. Overall not recommended.

The dishes are far too small for the money and it is incredibly inauthentic and disappointing that a formerly vegan restaurant now offers meat.

I used to swear by Vedang. But now that they also serve meat, I simply cannot support them anymore. Maybe they don’t “hide” the change, but when you go from marketing yourself as a vegan restaurant and do not make it very clear that you’ve made such a fundamental change, it feels dishonest. And yes, changing “plant burger” to “green burger” counts as greenwashing, as many others have pointed out. I’ll take my business to Veg’d.

They first went vegan, now they also sell meat. The name “green burger” is nonsense and therefore not recommended.

Delicious vegan burgers, my favourite fast food burgers in Berlin! Even my meat eaters friends are in love with them

Great place for vegan burgers in Berlin. I have been here a while back and just visited again a few days ago. Burger taste was still really good and portion size was great. The vegan “cheese”burger is always a good option! Only thing I’d mention is that two of the burgers were almost falling apart, so it was a little difficult to eat.

A great store with great service! We really enjoyed the food and the two menus cost €25, which is totally justified. The staff was really friendly and the food was there straight away. I also liked that there was no plastic waste and everything was made of paper or wood! The only thing I was missing was a toilet for visitors.

Went after going out. Cheesy fries I will be dreaming about! Oh my goodness. So delicious! Was a bit nervous about possibly getting mixed up, as they also offer non-vegan burgers as well. But food was so tasty, perfect for after a night out!

Probably Vedang - Blood Burger. You were one of my favorite vegan shops and now you have meat on the menu. Incomprehensible!

Burgers were okay, sauces could have been seasoned better. The chili cheese fries were very tasty. Unfortunately there are no toilets.

Their burgers lie somewhere in between the McDonald's and KreuzBurger. Better than McDonald's but not as tasty and juicy as KreuzBurger. They're a dine-in restaurant and strangely don't have a washroom. I don't think that's even legal in Germany.

The crispy chick patty is quite tasty, but unfortunately the burger doesn't offer much. For the price I would have expected more, the chili cheese fries were relatively bland and a bit soggy from the "cheese" sauce. Overall, it's good to have tried it out because there's a solid, simple offering, but since they (recently?) also offer meat, the concept doesn't appeal to me and I'd rather go somewhere else in the future.

The senselessness of opening a restaurant with a clear vegan theme, where they claim to make vegan burgers, but end up making bun bread with milk. These background facts are not adequately explained and are only explicitly stated if asked. Water costs 2.80 for a tiny glass without the possibility of refilling. Very very good food, as an omnivore I was very positively surprised

I absolutely loved Vedang but now they decided to switch to having meat options. This is so disappointing I can’t even describe it, I used to recommend this place to everyone but I definitely won’t anymore.

Not open when it says , wasted journey.

Cool concept, but poor implementation. I ordered online and the smash burger and fries were extremely soggy. Probably not the suitable transport boxes. Simply too expensive and only average in taste.

Actually trendy and really nice to have so many vegan options. However, the food is terrible. This is not only the case here, but at all Vedangs where I have been so far. The service is always wonderful, but the food is bland and very greasy. I really can't recommend it to anyone. It's never happened that I left a burger behind. But that's how it was here. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances didn't help either. It's equally disgusting every time and in every restaurant. It's a shame, you could do so much with it!

Burgers are ok. But if you are a hippie trying to save the world - RUN - they have loads of plastic plants around the place - WHY?

Completely overpriced and no longer vegan.

The two guys who were present in the store and acted as if (employees) were not very hardworking and ambitious in their jobs. Bad service, slow and sad. The wrap was very tasty!

Beyond Meat Smash Burger was already good but still has room for improvement. There was somehow a lack of freshness in the burger. Decent portion of fries for the menu. The restaurant itself is very simple and could be cleaner.

It's not vegan, all the sandwiches have milk. I am lactose intolerant so I asked to be sure, they told me that I could only eat the wraps because the inside of the sandwich is vegan... but not the bread, and therefore I couldn't eat it. It doesn't make sense, luckily I asked but otherwise I would have been sick, but before writing certain reviews, inform yourself better, and for the restaurant it is pointless to define itself as a vegan fast food restaurant.

Ordered 2 crispy chick burger from wolt. The bread was soft but the patty in burger was uncooked and full of oil.

unfortunately probably won’t be back, the burger was tasted pretty good but it was fairly small and about 11/12€ with the cheese which i think is too much, but the cheesy fries i dont recommend the cheese tasted a bit weird and they were soggy, also they recently added meat-options which is not a bad thing per se, however before they were a 100% only vegan restaurant and i think they should have kept it that way:)

Super centrally located on the corner of Schönhauser! Very green atmosphere and chill music! The food also looks good - we are happy! P.S.: WiFi is really good here!

Suddenly with real corpse meat - despite the name "Vedang". Never go back.

They charged me twice, even though I told them that the payment was succesfull the first time and I even showed them my bank app. They said one of the payments would be refunded and that this happened to many clients. Well, it never was refunded. And when I sent them an email about it a week later nobody answered. So I advice against paying with a card at this place.

Amazing food. Normally, I find that vegan food isn’t tasty, but their burgers blew me away. They have interesting flavours of drinks, most of which you won’t find in other restaurants, that are really really good. Edit: apparently the above review doesn’t follow Google’s content policy… trying again.

Used to be entirely vegan place however now they serve meat as well... so dissapointing

We used to like ordering here because the vegan burgers were always delicious and it was great to have a purely vegan burger shop nearby and we just wanted to support it. Since meat is now also offered here, we no longer order here, but prefer to order from others who continue to stick to the 100% plant-based concept and do not switch to animal exploitation.

The food was ok but a bit dry. The atmosphere and lighting were cool and the staff were nice. Their Ice cream machine was not working and they offered free ice cream to whom write a review 😅(It’s fine) They also have non vegan options with beef.

Ambience is a bit like a Macdonalds but the food is much better.

Miserable place - Trust Breaker!! ⚡️ They were vegan and stood against animal cruelty and now they added dead cows to their menu just because they wanted more money. I was even talking with one of the managers and they said, they didn’t have a choice - which is hilarious because we all have a choice and there are so many vegan restaurants still choosing to not hurt and murder animals for „taste“ and „money“. They still say they are sustainable but meat is not sustainable at all because its inefficient plant and land use + emissions. So they greenwash and lie to us. Shame on you, Vedang. My friends, other people I know and me will never support a behavior like this and therefore not going to Vedang any more. I feel partly heard-broken for this. 💔 Please think about the victims of your actions. A local cow still doesn’t want to get killed and trust me - they know whats going to happen with them. Or better: Don’t trust me and visit the farm and watch the last minutes of the cow yourself. Go vegan again and stop your violence against those innocent beautiful animals. 🙌🏽 Paddy

Great Burgers, staff and atmosphere.

Honestly I don’t normally give a bad review for service only but I ordered the menu items without specifically saying that I want the menu order, and they overcharged me for the products. When I pointed this out the guy said “you should have said” - I don’t know what kind of bad management, incentive structure, or culture leads people to act like total bags of douche to their customers, but it infuriated me enough to give this review while they canceled my order. I won’t go here again and I suggest you take your business elsewhere as well.

Great food but the toilets are missing!

There is a lot of vegan fast food here. Lots of space, nice service, quick preparation. Smash Burger (with meat) was tasty but a bit small for just under €8.

The fries and especially the Beyond Citizen fell well below expectations. The staff was extremely unfriendly, which is why I wouldn't eat here again. In addition, it smells really bad in the store, which is why I can't understand the positive reviews.

Very bad food that immediately gave me a stomach ache. The cola felt like it was just dark sparkling water. Additionally, the music is way too loud, so it's not a relaxing atmosphere.

The staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, I can't understand the 4.8 stars at all. The burger only tasted like cheese sauce and was generally very bland. In addition, the fries weren't seasoned enough for my taste. We shouldn't have been blinded by the very positive reviews and should have gone further when we found an empty restaurant at 7pm on a Sunday evening.

Edit: Unfortunately it's done, as if there weren't already enough shops for meat eaters. Sad to jump out there, “game changer”. Best vegan burger so far. And the chili cheese fries with bacon are awesome. Always happy to order :)

The welfare of the animals is completely ignored here out of greed for profit! And how unnecessary! There is a mayor and a mayor's office 50 meters away. If you want meat, go there. A little tip for all vegans: um There's a VEGD on the corner and a Vincent Vegan in the Schönhauser Arkaden ♥️ It's tastier anyway and without animal suffering. ♥️

Why is the store now being penalized for selling beef burgers IN ADDITION to the vegan program? If a vegan visits a regular restaurant and also finds vegan dishes, he is happy. BUT if a Flexian finds a meat burger in a vegan shop, do the owners have to rethink their concept? Super cool Burger place that mainly serves vegan Burgers. They've got Chicken Burgers, Cheeseburger some Wraps and Nuggets. They also got 2 meat Burgers for your non vegan/vegetarian friends 😊 the prices for a Single Burger is between 7€ to 10€ and the menus with fries and a drink are a out 13€ to 15€

Used to like this place a lot but now they started selling beef burgers despite having “plant burger” or “green” as a motto!!! Absolutely ridiculous and a huge step backwards. I’m not interested anymore. Rather give my money to Veg’d around the corner. If you want to sell meat, rebrand the company or start over, you’ll lose plenty of customers and some people will accidentally order a meat burger thinking it’s vegan as you claim to be plant based. Hugely disappointed.

An amazing place to enjoy the best vegan burgers in Berlin. Really great after a long walk in mauerpark.

When I purchase from a company I generally look not just at the product, but also at what the company stands for. Going from being all vegan to serving beef is a very awkward decision, especially as the branding still sells it as "green" with logos such as "game changers". Huge step back, and at this point I'd much rather give my money to the other vegan burger place around the corner. Disappointing
