My Caesar salad was a joke. Measly portion with a few small pieces of chicken for €14.90. I complained about the first salad because most of the leaves were already brown. It was prepared again without any problems. When paying, I expressed criticism because I wasn't full and found out that guests had often complained about it. It's a shame that management isn't interested in it. The price-performance ratio should be urgently reconsidered!!!

The Vapiano Dortmund is located on the edge of the city center and is not even noticed at first. Nevertheless, it is well attended and you quickly feel that you are sitting in a Vapiano. However, the ambience doesn't feel quite right. At the beginning the cards are dealt and then you can order at the order point. This has a big advantage over the Vapiano restaurants where you order directly from the chefs: everything is a little more relaxed and you can keep up with your own order. You then get a pager and pick up your food from the pick-up point after it has been prepared. Of course, this only works if you have found a place. Basically there are a lot of seats, including some at normal tables, which is a great advantage for children or people with limited mobility. The staff also keeps a good overview, is friendly and helpful. Even under stress. This is not a given. The menu is typical of Vapiano, but Dortmund is one of the slightly more expensive locations. Apparently fresh ingredients are used and the food is well seasoned. The pasta is also well cooked, unfortunately al dente often means “hard” in Vapiano. The toilet facilities can be reached via a staircase in the basement, while the barrier-free toilet is in the neighboring building (a medical center). Here, however, the staff catches up.

At the beginning I was a bit overwhelmed and didn't know what to do. I watched it carefully and once I understood it, I really liked it. The food was very tasty and I thought it was cool that you could choose the type of pasta. The homemade iced tea was very tasty. The selection is really nice and you felt very comfortable. The service in the individual areas was very nice and friendly. I can recommend it to everyone.

Eating took a long time and you just stand there but it was very tasty if you can tolerate oil

Unfortunately, it is not possible to eat at the same time in a group. The first ones were already drinking coffee when the last ones got their food.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right at all, the noodles are soft like porridge, there were three of us with different dishes (pasta and sauces) and all types of pasta were overcooked or cooked too long. The sauces were almost unseasoned. Spices such as garlic are charged extra. There is no table service, you get everything yourself. Basically a fancy canteen with high prices. Unfortunately not recommended.

Nice, clean place. The pasta was highly recommended. We had pasta all'arrabiata and chicken alfredo. The sauces were delicious, the Alfredo sauce could have been a little creamier.

I still know the Vapiano from before, I really enjoyed being there. Great food - Vitello Tonnato, for example. But there is no more, as I discovered. Then just pasta al salmone. The dish was ready and we were happy to pick it up... the joy immediately turned into disappointment. It was pasta with a light sauce and fragments of salmon, you could say the pasta had been shown pictures of salmon. However, nice and friendly staff. Ergo - not again.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food tastes good. The ambience is average and the noise level is reminiscent of a canteen. The price for a simple pasta dish was sporty! Therefore a star deduction. Nevertheless, we felt comfortable and will come back. Thanks to the friendly staff!

The salad with tuna was delicious but the tiramisu was too creamy so, don’t buy it if you want the real Italian taste :)

Anyone who goes into a Vapiano knows what to expect. Ordering, preparation, collection and payment usually go quickly. Ambiance is ok, as is the food. We had 2x pizza and 2x drinks and have already lost a lot of euros. We don't plan on repeating it at the moment.

Best restaurant in town! I tried the pizza here and it was one of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. Also, the service was super and the place is very cool and very clean. I highly recommend this one!

I'm not the generation for cards, self-service and such. But that was really okay. Service is difficult to evaluate because you have to do everything yourself - apart from mixing the salad. But everything was fine. The people I came into contact with were friendly and accommodating. The ambience is good, I've had better salad plates, but they're fine.

Pizza is not recommended was not good!

This Vapiano still uses the old card system, and the food is nicely prepared. Even the pizza is still round, which is a good perk.

Pizza & pasta taste good and being able to put everything together yourself is a good idea. The only disadvantage in my opinion is that, due to the process, it doesn't really feel comfortable I have never been to the Vapiano Dortmund, I was to the Vapiano in Hagen and this is also what my review refers to

Vapiano offers many of my favorite dishes in very good quality. I am positively convinced of this restaurant! - The bruschetta and pasta variants are the finest - the food is prepared quickly - the entire staff is particularly friendly!

I think the concept of Vapiano is good. You get a card on which the order is recorded and this makes paying afterwards much easier. You have to order the food yourself and pick it up. The store is also very nicely decorated. However, something was forgotten in my meal and another woman's meal. For the price I think it's a bit cheeky.

The menu is confusing and not very interesting, and the prices are now almost outrageously high. Very bad online menu, confusing and incorrectly programmed. Cooking tends to be unmotivated behind glass panes; the Vapiano flair of watching and having direct contact with the chefs is a thing of the past. What happened to the old Vapiano, with attractive prices and interesting fusion variants? No wonder there is a yawning emptiness even on weekends. Eat: - very manageable porzoons - cheapest gratin/pizza mozzarella on the salad for €€ extra. That's already the lowest class! - The guacamole is just green sludge from an industrial bin. Disgusting! - Bruschetta for €7 was 2 slices of dry bread, not toasted, no garlic, etc., then smeared with tomato pulp and "guacamole" and a dollop of crema di basamico. Taste? ... Conclusion: cheap food at premium prices. This visit will be the last for us.

Ich hatte mir was zum abholen bestellt. Das erste Problem kam schon bei Essen abholen, da man angeblich garnicht mehr über Paypal zahlen kann obwohl es schon abgebucht wurde. War im Endeffekt ein Fehler von denen und 15 min nach der eigentlichen Abholzeit war das Essen endlich fertig. Naja wir hatten ein Gericht ausdrücklich ohne Pilze bestellt, das wurde natürlich nicht beachtet stattdessen wurde die Soße weggelassen. Außerdem waren Haare in unserem Essen… nie wieder eine absolute Geldverschwendung

Very nice Vapiano location with great architecture. My salad with chicken breast was super fresh with a very tasty dressing. And there's pizza again👍 I'll be happy to come back.

Update August 2024: after I was recently very enthusiastic about their Pinsa, they unfortunately did a massive downgrade. Now the floor is dry, tasteless and not airy at all. Don't come back. Previous review: So I have to say the consistency of the noodles is absolutely perfect. I have never eaten better pasta anywhere. The problem with the Vapiano, however, is that you hardly have the expensive meat on your plate and the prices are still quite high. I also have to complain that the glass of sparkling wine was completely non-carbonated, and that at €4...

A fantastic restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and an innovative ordering system. After ordering you get a pager that vibrates when your food is ready, really handy! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was simply delicious, especially the pastas. Overall, a great experience that I would recommend to everyone. I'll definitely be back!

Totally sticky noodles. All arrabbiata completely without any taste. Even adding more salt didn't help. Nice atmosphere, but you don't have to come here to eat.

When it comes to the food there is absolutely nothing to complain about and the staff is also super nice... But at the wrong times the whole thing has something of an open-plan canteen - you shouldn't try to have more than two people at the same time almost impossible to eat! Otherwise great....

So if you like cold noodles, you've come to the right place. If you complain, the pasta, sauce and cheese are simply reheated in the pasta water. Disgusting. Hygiene is different... But at least I share my sauce with the entire restaurant.

Avoid - indifferent food and arrogant manager, who does not understand customer service.

The cappuccino was very tasty, slightly irritated that everyone got a card for themselves. It was my first visit, but not the last.

Complicated and expensive but good quality

We ordered a dish that didn't contain any nuts or pine nuts. Unfortunately, some were included. My daughter has severe allergies. After the staff was informed, it was apparently our fault because we didn't ask specifically again. That was really very disappointing, no accommodation.

Service is quite chaotic and pizza was probably the worst I ever ate. For iItalian-style restaurant is a no-go. Better pizzas can be eaten from frozen ready-ones.

So far there have been difficulties with ordering on every visit. On our last visit, 2 out of 5 dishes were received incorrectly. Once you have your food, everything is good and tasty.

The fast food of Italian. Good choice of dishes. Portion size is on the small side. Not cheap but all in all decent. Bad acoustics inside and loud music.

The prices are too high for self service.

We were traveling with four children and three adults. To end our day, we wanted to go eat some pasta with the kids. Unfortunately I have to say that the noodles didn't taste good at all. Some of them were still hard and the seasoning of the dish was completely omitted... The children should probably have airplane noodles. This didn't exist after all. The floor was sticky and if we hadn't wiped the tables ourselves again, then the... It's shocking what prices can be charged for lousy quality. We won't come back again.

I liked it very much, the only problem is that it is self-service. I loved their pasta, but I didn't like their tiramisu and cookies very much.

A well-known Italian restaurant chain. The cuisine is always good and the menu has been renewed. There are no longer the pots of basil and rosemary on each table that were the charm of your restaurants, it's a shame!

The staff was very unfriendly, the service was terrible, we won't be coming back! *edit Instead of responding to criticism and perhaps asking what it could have been, people prefer to complain back that the staff are hostile and the review has been requested to be deleted. Then I'll go into more detail so that you might understand what really bothered us, but according to other reviews you don't seem to be interested anyway... The counter staff was very unfriendly and rudely replied to another order from me that I should wait until they had finished tapping. We understand that employees are exhausted after a long day at work and would like to call it a day. We would also like to enjoy this in your company, but unfortunately we couldn't really because the staff were loudly clearing the counter from around 9 p.m Garbage was dragged around and gave us the feeling of being thrown out. When shortly before closing time another employee very rudely asked us to leave because it was now closing time, we thought it couldn't get any worse... But it did!!! The cashier who watched Tiktok videos during her shift was also just as unfriendly as the counter staff. In retrospect, we are very glad we didn't eat at her house. This is not how you treat paying guests. Please sensitize your employees to an appropriate form of expression and polite interaction with the guest, who has shown your staff the same courtesy. Because of this experience, Vapiano is history for us, it's a shame that you are so massively disappointed on your first visit. THAT is very bad advertising for your company. Definitely NOT recommended.

Particularly friendly staff - we've experienced something completely different elsewhere, thank you very much!

I made a reservation three weeks in advance, but the spot I wanted was taken that day. The staff did not respond to our complaint and we were asked to find another seat. The sofas are very dirty and the same three songs are always playing, with no variety. You have to order the food yourself in the kitchen and pick it up yourself. If you pick up the food you have to get the cutlery yourself from another counter, it is not included. The knives and forks were very dirty and there was food residue on some of them. Even if the food tastes pretty good, it's not worth going to all the trouble. Ordering and picking up took longer than the meal itself... Overall, we were very dissatisfied with our first visit to Vapiano. I wouldn't develop it further unless you have a lot of patience and affect control...

Good central location in the city center. The restaurant was very empty at 1 p.m. Food lukewarm...ambience ok.

Top location. The red carpet at the entrance is something. Inside you can look out onto an enchanted garden with a pond. Ruhr coal bosses used to hold their meetings there.

My companion and I decided to go to the Vapiano in the city at 11 a.m. this morning. We really enjoy going there, the atmosphere and the food are great... Today an incredibly nice gentleman caught our eye. When we walked in we were greeted warmly and served at the bar at the front. I had a wine spritzer and pistachio cookies, both really good! The gentleman was very competent and in a very good mood, which is unfortunately rare to find these days! I had the feeling that every cent I spent there today went into good hands :) 5 stars 🌟

Der Mitarbeiter an der Kasse / Bar ist super!!! Schnell, freundlich, flexibel,…… Also wirklich der beste Mitarbeiter den sie wahrscheinlich haben!!! Das Essen war natürlich auch 1a !! Top Laden mit dem besten Personal !!!

Vapiano, always a safe bet. The salads were very good and very fresh. We were served quickly. On the other hand, there is too little protein (chicken, beef) in the salads compared to the price paid.

It's been years since I've been to the Vapiano. And was seriously disappointed. Much of the original concept has been watered down. My salad was bland and not the freshest, but very expensive. I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant more. What a shame!
