Had a nice experience last night 4 out of 5 employees were very friendly the man at the noodles was a bit difficult 😜

Very popular. Delicious pasta dishes, risotto, salads and soups, pinsa, pizza dishes, and good wine. Vapiano, L'Osteria as a competitor, and Pizza Hut, Papi Pizza (Neopolitan, don't expect a pizza with a 5cm edge; different dough here, but delicious) are highly recommended... alongside the absolute best pizzeria... for €5, that's not feasible, but not really good quality. Delivered by many different suppliers, yet never reaching the elite because they're just cheap, and they are cheap, too. We didn't mention the 2-cube pizza. -)

The chicken Alfredo and carbonara were incredibly delicious! Great value for money, too.

We’ve been to a bunch of different Vapianos, and honestly, the experience really depends on which one you go to. This particular Vapiano was decent. Nothing terrible, but also nothing that really wowed us. When we went, the place was basically empty, we were the only ones there. Still, the food took quite a while to come out, so we’re guessing they might’ve been understaffed. That said, the food itself was actually pretty good. Nothing super special, but solid. As with all Vapianos, there’s plenty of seating and the open kitchen setup is nice, you can watch your food being made right in front of you, which is always fun to see. So yeah, overall a decent experience. Not amazing, not bad, just a chill place to grab some pasta or pizza if you’re nearby :)

Mich hat es diesmal nicht wirklich abgeholt… früher fand ich es wirklich super mit den vielen Stationen und den vielen verschiedenen Gerichten und Möglichkeiten. Hatte eine pinsa bestellt… Bildmaterial eine Mini-pinsa… hätt ich angeblich so bestellt… Quatsch echt… Geschmack war ok… Getränke extrem teuer… muss da nicht nochmal hin ehrlich gesagt…

Caesar salad dressing is out of stock. Better plan ahead! I always find it awkward when I have to get my own food and then my coat is left on the table where everyone can get it.

Disappointing Visit to Vapiano Mannheim Unfortunately, my last visit to Vapiano in Mannheim was very disappointing. The pita was already cold when it was served, which significantly spoiled the experience. On top of that, the drinks were warm – absolutely unpleasant in these temperatures. What bothered me most, however, was the unfriendly staff, who were neither helpful nor particularly attentive. Overall, a very disappointing experience, one I wouldn't want to repeat.

I've been there four times. I've only tried the pasta. Some of it is good, but you really have to be careful what you choose. The portions are okay and filling. My problem is that they didn't have penne any of the three times I've been there. The last time, they only had one type of pasta to choose from. Also, the service there is pretty unfriendly. I'm a waitress myself, and I would never speak to a customer like that. All in all, it's a mediocre place.

Is there any rules particularly regarding what age can order a kid‘s meal??? My daughter and her friend (14 years old) were shopping around Mannheim Quadrat and wanted to eat at Vapiano. But since they were not that hungry, one of them ordered a kid meal. The staff was extremely rude. Requested and asked them not to order a kid meal since they don’t look like a kid. The poor attitude definitely ruined the meal time. Vapiano, please kindly train your employee to serve customer with respect. A long term customer is gone for the rest of their lives.

The order is specific but explained well. The food was good, but the atmosphere is echoey and not conducive to lingering. Most of the seats have no backrest.

Nice ambiance, friendly staff. The food was great, and we really enjoyed the salad. There was no pizza, only pinza, and it really wasn't that great. It could be better.

As always, it's OK, but not cheap either. There was no feta today either, so I had to avoid it. It's just Vapiano, kind of the "classy" fast food joint 😁. But otherwise it's really OK, if someone doesn't want to be annoyed by the service, it's fine too.

We actually like eating at Vapiano, but this time we were completely disappointed. The edge of the pinsa was completely dry and hard and the middle part had hardly any toppings or sauce. Unfortunately, this time you can't leave a good word behind.

It was my first visit back after a long, long time—probably since pre-COVID—and I had fond memories of a more vibrant atmosphere. The pasta is still decent (I’d rate the food a 3.5), but unfortunately, the overall vibe was a bit off. The service felt unwelcoming, and the staff didn’t seem particularly happy—maybe due to stress or pressure, I’m not sure. The energy in the space just felt low, and it lacked the warmth I remembered. I truly hope Vapiano considers reinventing its experience in the coming years. There’s definitely potential, but the atmosphere (which I’d rate a 2) and service (a 3) need a refresh to match the quality of the food.

We have already visited several of these restaurants (Stuttgart, Munich, Berlin), but the branch in Mannheim has nothing to do with the usual Vapiano quality: unfriendly, annoyed staff, tables dirty, as well as the toilet. We had 2 Cesa salads: lettuce was dry because there was hardly any dressing, parmesan was forgotten (or was empty), and there was no bread available with the salad at 7 p.m. On the Pinsa Diavola there were exactly 2 onion rings and 3 small pieces of jalapenos. The Pinsa Salami was ok except that it was cold. When asked, it was stated that the pinsas were served the same amount in all restaurants; not true! In the other branches visited so far, there were significantly more people occupied and the food was of a much higher quality! Unfortunately I didn't have a cell phone with me otherwise I would have documented it. We won't be coming to this area anymore!

I'm only giving it 2 stars because the food was mediocre and we weren't spat on by the staff in addition to the substandard service. Long waiting times and brutally slow cooks who whisper incomprehensible questions with a bored look in the hellishly loud rooms. The food tastes as if I had cooked the noodles for far too long after a long night of partying and then fried them. It is not without reason that the company is insolvent. By the way, you can stay that way!

At lunchtime, it was pretty empty, but it still took quite a while, and the two chefs were very busy. The spinach was forgotten in our pasta, and when we asked the chef about it, he added raw, rotten spinach to the finished dish. Only after our protest did his colleague intervene, and the dish was recooked. While we were cooking, a small gray mouse was wandering around the kitchen in the corner by the window. When I discreetly pointed it out to the chef, he saw it and simply said, "Oh no," and everything carried on. The taste was ultimately quite okay, but because of the Neukirchen flavor of the dish, I couldn't eat it with my wife, and a mouse in the kitchen is completely unacceptable. Additionally, the prices are now very high for a self-service restaurant.

In any case, I recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Italian food. Apart from traditional pasta, pizza, pinsa dishes, there are also our own creations that have recently been added to the menu I can especially recommend the crema de funghi (pasta), chicken Alfredo (pasta) and the rocket pinsa together with a burrata and, as a little extra, salami. I've loved going to the restaurant for over a year. Together with the super friendly welcome and the fast service, it's worth it every time. I particularly liked the reception today, the receptionist was very friendly and had a short chat with the customers and their well-being, and he also offered exciting offers that will be available soon. All in all, I am very satisfied and also well full.

Disappointing! 35 EUR for a normal Pizza Magherita and a water is too much. Was it because the customer was still a minor and didn't receive a receipt? No recommendation.

I had dinner with my grandparents on Sunday and it was okay. The food wasn't the best, but it was edible. The service staff was very friendly and when we pointed out the mouse, she kindly explained the problem, so it was a great evening. Today again for years at the Vapiano. My penne with salmon for 16.50 was very hot and spicy, but almost mushy. Pizza was ok. It really doesn't have to happen in the future

We wouldn't come again. Unfortunately, the gluten-free pizza was very dry and cold. It had nothing to do with a pizza. The normal one was okay. We were there on Saturday and it was very busy. We only got a seat at a small table in the corner, which wasn't even clean. In general, we had the feeling that no one paid attention to whether there were enough tables for all the guests. Since it's completely self-service, you line up and then go on a big search for a seat. Actually a very cool concept, but unfortunately not implemented very well Too bad!

I had dinner here for the first time today with my friends. When I went to the toilet and wanted to go out, I saw a mouse running past me. When I told the employee, he just laughed and went to check. After 5 minutes he came down and said that maybe it was behind the bar. It was the last time we ate here. The Frenks is 100 meters away. There are no mice walking through the restaurant and the food is delicious.

After I had to spit out my food because there was a piece of glass in it, the food was there for me. My meal was simply refunded and an apology was given, that was it.

Good food and fresh. If you order something via the website you will also receive a confirmation email, but whether anyone has actually read the order is more of a game of chance. When you call to order over the phone so that the order actually arrives you are sent to the website. Could run better. It's been 3 months since this was followed up. Today my order wasn't read again. Maybe in the next 3 months.

I invited my grandchildren over for dinner and it was really nice. It was quite busy on the weekend, but the upstairs dining area is wonderful and I really enjoyed the view. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, always with a smile - that made the visit particularly pleasant. A small weak point are the toilets, which could be a little better maintained. But the food was delicious and the atmosphere was simply wonderful. I'll definitely come back!

An Italian restaurant where the food is made in front of you. Is designed more for “self-service” and has a modern ambience. However, mice crossed my path for the second time, which I don't really celebrate.

When we left Vapiano yesterday after dinner, my friend told me that the food wasn't that good and that it had been better before. I then said that it was quite good/ok and praised a few points. Together we came to the conclusion that the entire experience simply meant that the food didn't have as good an effect on us as it could have. My vegan dish was made with mozzarella, I complained, received a new one, and eating together was no longer an option. The chair surfaces are worn out, the employees don't look happy, or at most put on a neutral expression, the atmosphere there is no longer what it was years ago. You no longer have the feeling that people (want to) stay there longer and that's how it felt for us too. Eat quickly and leave. Little things were missing. No charming smile, no hot pepper oil on the table, you pick what you need, the light is blinding (certainly a matter of taste) and somehow it was meh. By the way, dear Pinsabäcker, everyone has a bad day sometimes, I understand that. You didn't look happy. Some people can see it on their faces. You are that kind of person. Sure you're okay, but the job just isn't it. Or just the day? Whoever your boss is had better make sure you're okay. But if you have a bad time there, throw it away, there are other places in the catering industry. And to his boss: please think about who you hire, pay attention to employee satisfaction and make sure the service is right. Nobody wants to buy something where people are unhappy. And no, you don't have to reprimand anyone with this assessment, if the blame often (almost always) lies with the companies themselves. Something isn't right with you. Nobody wants to work for too little money with bosses who have a demotivating nature. I have a lot to do with companies and I can always tell from the people I work with if something isn't right. If you want to get your reviews under control, first make sure you do something for your employees and then it will pay off in monetary terms. Happy employees = happy guests Conclusion: The food felt like it could have been better received, but in our subjective opinion the purchasing experience was shit and had an impact on the enjoyment. After this last impression, do you want to come back quickly? The future will show that.

I had spaghetti carbonara. The quality was extremely poor. My partner was very sick after the first bite and we had to leave. The biggest outrage was the prices, which were at restaurant level. €15 for cream with pasta is cheeky. Not recommended!

Several of us ate at Vapiano Mannheim and were unfortunately disappointed overall. The staff all seemed unmotivated and unengaged. My girlfriend had a salad, which was tasty, but the remaining four of us ordered various pasta variations – none of which were particularly convincing. The taste was simply unsatisfactory. Additionally, in our opinion, the value for money is completely inadequate. The prices are definitely too high for the quality offered. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot recommend Vapiano Mannheim.

The pizza took 25 minutes, the pasta was quick and delicious. The sparse decor made it incredibly noisy, and you could only pay in cash because the card reader didn't work.

We were here for the first time in ages, as I used to enjoy the Insalata Mista. What can I say? It's brutally cold; you have to wear a jacket to eat. The salad was wilted and tasted like Aldi ready-made salad. Way too much dressing. The pasta dish was good. We won't be coming back. Everything has its time. I'm still freezing.

The risotto was okay. But I don't understand the concept. Long lines to order, long waits for the food to be prepared. Eating together is difficult because everything is prepared at different times.

Ich gebe zu, dass ich schon ewig nicht mehr bei Vapiano war. Durch die Insolvenz und weil eine andere Kette eben auch Service am Platz anbietet. Es war nicht so einfach, die Bestellung loszuwerden. Mit Hilfe eines weiteren Mitarbeiters war es dann möglich. Man merkt, dass an allen Ecken sprachlich ausgebildetes Personal fehlt. Aber ohne sie, würden wir vermutlich nichts zu essen bekommen und auch das Geschirr am Tisch liegenbleiben. Wir hatten kleine Pinsa bestellt. Ich fand den Teig nicht so aufregend und irgendwie auch viel zu dick. Die Tomatensauce schmeckte auch eher wie Tomatenmark pur. Irgendetwas fehlte bei meiner Pinsa. Leider sitzt man sehr tief oder sehr ungemütlich (ohne Lehne). Oben ist es sehr dunkel.

Ordered spaghetti Bolognese and a pinsa with ham. After about 15 minutes, “Big Mama” came and said that there was no more ham. The lady was very unfriendly!

I looked through the reviews here: most of them are complete nonsense, and talk about things that you already know from the start as soon as you enter Vapiano (even the operation, how to handle the cards). I was there last night and ate the best pinsa, with rocket, mushrooms, tomatoes, everything fresh. Congratulations on the young man at the oven, we ordered 3 Pinsa and all 3 were cooked really well! Small recommendations: I would probably have reduced the prices overall by €1-1.5, generally speaking. The toilet had soap on the floor, probably something broke? Everything else is ok! I will 110% visit the restaurant again!

The Pizza Firenze looked good, but unfortunately it had a strange taste, you almost had one

If you like it, you can also buy a jar of pesto and eat it with pasta. Prices absolutely not justified. The noodles float in the oil. Bolognese has nothing to do with Bolognese and could actually be declared vegetarian. Older little lady also very unfriendly.

We were there with friends. My “Nice” salad was super delicious! The water (0.25l), on the other hand, cost me around €5, which is unfortunately no longer a rarity anymore... However, the staff seemed a bit bored and one of my friends was a bit rude. Nevertheless, I would come here again. Nice atmosphere in the evening :) but you shouldn't sit on the high chairs by the door in winter. The constant opening of the door makes you feel cold.

Disappointing. We know that it is more of a self-service fast food restaurant. But the employees behind the counter, visibly overworked and unfriendly, unmotivated. Errors in serving/ordering food. Lasagna was supposedly out of stock, but the next customer got one. You just didn't feel like it. The gentlemen at the coffee bar stand out positively. Here people were accommodating, quick and friendly. All in all, the food was not of outstanding quality, little, but at high prices. Therefore not recommended. It's better to go to a real Italian restaurant, there's one opposite in the Fressgasse.

Pasta tastes like nothing but swims in fat. The tomato sauce on the pizza is sour and the toppings are so few that you have to look for the tuna. Once and never again

I'm not sure how you get the pasta to be overcooked but hard in the middle at the same time, but Vapiano makes it possible. Unfortunately really inedible and I really wouldn't recommend it.

The whole system is totally cumbersome. Everything has to be ordered from somewhere else. After we first got drinks we were then asked for drinks every time we ordered food?? The pizza came upon request. One of them had already eaten when the pizza was finally ready. Just thick dough, hardly any toppings. She lay on the stomach for another 2 days and caused a lot of discomfort. The food is very expensive. To top it off, some employees didn't speak German. Questions were answered in English. Overall, the worst restaurant experience in a long time.

When you enter the restaurant you are immediately given cards without being told what they are for. Only when you take a seat at the table and then ask do you find out that this is a self-service restaurant. The food looks great, but the noodles are not cooked properly and unfortunately the food tastes like nothing. Not even the parmesan has any taste. In addition, the restaurant is lit too dark in the evening despite the ambience on the 1st floor.

November gegen 18:30 Uhr war ich im Vapiano in Mannheim und musste leider feststellen, dass die Situation an der Salattheke nicht besonders appetitlich war. Die Mitarbeiterin hat dort Hähnchen angebraten, doch die Kochstation wirkte ungepflegt und machte keinen guten Eindruck. Für ein Restaurant, das auf Frische und Qualität setzt, erwarte ich eine hygienischere und ansprechendere Präsentation.

Had a coupon “2 pasta dishes for the price of one” that was valid until March 2025. Was there in November 2024 and the employee simply didn't want to accept it. In my opinion, very disgraceful. My pasta didn't taste any better than if I had cooked it myself.

Pinza frozen dough (not fresh)... Poor ingredients (Mozzarella, tomato sauce...) they even use parsley instead of basilico.

Unfortunately, most of the dishes on the menu are not available if you want to eat pasta... if employees already have problems with the drinks... I rightly think that the store was supposedly insolvent... not good quality... there are plenty of better alternatives, unfortunately I was here last time... thank you

Unfortunately, I no longer find the new menu that appealing. I enjoyed pasta caprese but that was also taken off the menu. Charging 5.95 euros for an iced tea is really cheeky. Became very expensive...

Unfortunately at lunchtime there are not enough staff to do justice to all customers. Food is good.

The worst pasta I've ever eaten.

Food was okay - not seasoned enough for us. Pepper, salt, oil and vinegar are available on the tables for seasoning. Atmosphere very loud, although I'm really not that sensitive. It used to be more comfortable and had more character.

Very Chill Atmosphere, the foodservice can be slow, but it has to do with the card system that is here.

ADDENDUM to my first review: Thank you for your feedback! I really think it's great how professionally and respectfully you responded to my criticism. It's rare these days for a company to remain so friendly and constructive. For this reason alone I will definitely come back and look forward to my next visit! Vapiano – Used to be a pleasure, unfortunately not anymore When I was young, Vapiano was my absolute favorite place to spend lunch breaks with friends. The freshly prepared pasta dishes and pizzas were always a highlight and I looked forward to it every time. Back then it was always delicious. Unfortunately, on my last visit I discovered that the food was no longer of the same standard as it used to be. Unfortunately, the pasta was disappointing in taste and no longer as fresh and aromatic as I was used to. The pizza wasn't really convincing either. It's a shame that the quality of the food has changed so much because Vapiano used to always be a safe choice for me. I hope that things will improve again, because the fond memories of previous visits remain.

Well, vapiano: loud, chaotic, the pizza was good, the pasta dish was more Asian than Italian.

I am very disappointed with my visit. In contrast to before, a run-down atmosphere, too few employees (had to wait about 10 minutes for the wine to be served with the finished, cold food) and the food poorly prepared. That was it then.

In my opinion, this self-service philosophy does not fit into a city center. The restaurant is well furnished, but the prices don't quite fit. Lasagna was so-so, nothing earth-shattering.

We had something to eat here during the week around 9 p.m. We were greeted warmly at reception, as always. The chef who prepared our food was also very polite and nice. Our noodles were also very tasty 😋
