Fantastic location on the dike and with the good food and service we spent a perfect evening here.

The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. We sat outside and had a beautiful view of the North Sea. We'd love to come back.

A really nice café. The East Frisian tea in the pot was delicious. Just right for warming up.

Toilet not suitable for XXL women the waffles with vanilla ice cream were very tasty... the view was also nice... But the toilet. At first there was only one toilet for men and one for women. The one for women was in the basement, which I have no problem with. But the spaciousness - if you can even speak of spaciousness - was so tight that you would have had to go in backwards. I just couldn't get through the door, I couldn't even fit across it, so I got stuck. I'm guessing the door and the toilet were about half the width of a normal door, if that. I find that cheeky, if not even discriminatory - going to the toilet is a human need and this must be made possible for all people, not just slim people and people in wheelchairs - sorry, but also people who are strongly built. As a fat woman, I'm used to a lot of things, but the fact that I can't go to the toilet because it's too narrow - that's the last straw. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. At the top of the stairs there must be a note saying "NOT FOR XXL WOMEN", so many women who are no longer good at walking will save themselves the walk for nothing. That's why there are only 2 stars overall.

It's always nice to be pampered by the great service after a hike by the lake with delicious food and a view over the promenade.

Of course the best location is best to come after 6 p.m. to enjoy the evening sun, not so much going on and the East Frisian dark beer is highly recommended. The only thing that is a bit strange is that three people are responsible for one table. One takes the food. One person serves the drinks to the next and collects the money - it's easier. ATTENTION CASH ONLY but that's no problem

Very tasty food, very nice staff, nice view over the dike and beach. Definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, it is only suitable to a limited extent for disabled or elderly people, as it can only be reached via stairs and the toilets are quite narrow.

Hier kann man hervorragend Essen, die besten Bratkartoffeln in ganz Norddeich. Das freundliche Personal ist für uns immer wieder ein Grund vorbeizuschauen. Auch das Preis-Leisungsverhältnis stimmt. Weiter so !!!!!!

The friendliness of the staff leaves much to be desired. No WiFi. Toilets only against payment, no card payment possible!! Not tourist oriented and expensive. Never again!!

Den Utkiek kann man immer für eine kleine Pause, um seinen Durst, oder auch größeren Hunger zu stillen, aufsuchen. Gerne machen wir hier aber halt, im die traditionelle ostfriesische Teezeremonie zu genießen. Die Aussicht, entweder aus den Strandkörben draußen, oder aus dem Fenster von innen über das Meer ist einfach großartig. Hier vergeht die Zeit auch beim Entspannen oft schneller, als man denkt.

Went there for the first time today. Mega friendly staff. Great ambience. Very child friendly! The view... a dream! Drinks and food were very good! We'd love to come back!

I actually just wanted to get two scoops of ice cream (€1.30 - very cheap!), but then there was this one free table with the best view over the dike and the sea. Very friendly staff. I can highly recommend the crispy chicken burger - the bun (sourdough?!) was very tasty and the curry mango sauce made the burger something special. And I've rarely had such good fries! Homemade! Absolute recommendation!

Beautiful location, friendly and attentive service. The food isn't anything special, but with the view it tastes good. Price/performance ok. Good selection, including vegetarian options.

Seven of us spontaneously came here with a little dog lady and it was absolutely wonderful! The view of the sea was breathtaking, the service staff were very friendly and helpful - two chairs were quickly added so that everyone could find a place at a table! There was enough space at the table for the dog, who could drink fresh water at the entrance. Our order was taken quickly and delivered promptly without any long waiting times. The drinks and the food we ordered left nothing to be desired and everything was great! Clear recommendation - we would love to come back!

Great cafe on the dike. With a good view. Unfortunately always very full. You have to be lucky to get a place there.

Great view and very nice service. Unfortunately I could only afford a warm cocoa as card payment is not possible and I had to leave hungry. Sorry, but card payments are not possible these days. This is the Middle Ages...

Nice ambience, very nice view of the North Sea, friendly service.

After a walk on the beach in November 24, we wanted to warm up a little. 1st plus point: the dog is allowed in. We chose potato pancakes/salmon and the Nordic fish soup (cream soup). Both dishes were really tasty. But the coffee time dishes (cream puffs, etc.) at the neighboring tables also looked really good. So a nice, entertaining stay with a dog and a direct view of the sea. Top.

This is the orientation point in Norddeich right up on the dike with a great view of the town and the harbor with the beach.

A beautiful view of the beach and the sea, nice staff, fast service, correct prices.

We were here twice in the evening (Monday and Tuesday) and immediately found space (2 people). We enjoyed both the tomato soup and the goulash very much. The fries are modestly salted, but that's a matter of taste. The potato pancakes with applesauce are okay. On both evenings we warmed ourselves up with a pot of delicious sea buckthorn tea. As long as it is still light, you can enjoy the great view.

We were in Norddeich for a week. We had dinner at Utkiek on the first evening. Since then my daughter has wanted to eat there every evening. We did it again on the last day. I should give her 1000 stars, but that's not possible. On the first evening I had the herring with fried potatoes (mega) and on the second evening I had the “All In Burger” (even better). My daughter has had the fried fish burger twice and nothing else since then 🤣 In addition, the staff on both days was relaxed, personal and really nice. I have to be honest and say that I can't understand the opening times. It was packed both evenings and definitely didn't look like 6:30pm. Thank you for the great hospitality.

Very friendly service and delicious food. There is also a beautiful sunset. What more could you want? My tip: definitely reserve a table, as the restaurant is always busy.

The place has a fly problem, disgusting, if I have to ask for milk with my coffee that's a minus for me, no napkins at the table. Service was very rude

Great view, friendly service, the food was a fried fish plate with fried potatoes and salad, the fried potatoes and the salad were good, but the fried fish was a disaster from Captain Igloo. The good Jever made everything right again.

Staff slightly overwhelmed with table allocation.

The restaurant is absolutely recommended. The entire staff was friendly and incredibly hard working! But it didn't seem fake, but authentic. My little son fell asleep during dinner and the employee offered us a blanket for the way home. Really very nice! The food was very tasty. We all got well fed. And while we were eating we were also able to enjoy a beautiful sunset! Thank you very much for the lovely evening!

We had a latte, an East Frisian tea and a waffle with banana. Great view, nice service, waited a little longer due to the rush, but apologized very kindly. So far everything is good.

What can you say, the fact that shortly after we arrived people were lining up to get a table says a lot! At Utkiek today we were able to enjoy excellent food with a fantastic view and friendly service. The fresh waffles and apple pie that were served as dessert are not in the pictures but they tasted fantastic too! I would say you pay a little extra for the location, but it's within reason and I'm happy to do that with the experience!

We drank coffee in the afternoon in beach chairs. The cake and waffles were very good. In the evening you should reserve a table in the restaurant. The view of the North Sea and the sunset are breathtaking.

The view is fantastic, the tea is wonderful and the cake is a dream. You can happily spend your time here. The only drawback: the restaurant is very popular, so there isn't always a space available. :-)

I have never eaten such good fried fish as here! The food was superbly prepared. The salad is a dream. The homemade fries Fritz are simply good. And the sauces are simply brilliant. Thanks for the very good food! Another plus is the unique view of the North Sea....

The friendliness of the staff is underground. I have worked in the catering industry myself and I have never experienced such stroppy, unmotivated and overwhelmed employees anywhere. We have been vacationing in Norddeich for years, and we will avoid this restaurant from now on.

Once and never again! We waited 30 minutes for 2 soups, the tomato soup tasted like it came from a can, the goulash soup had no goulash and the bread was dry and hard! There was no apology for anything!

We sat outside several times for an "evening drink" during our vacation in August. The waitresses were always very friendly (special praise at this point) and the view (of the sunset) was unbeatable. Fair prices and well-chilled drinks.

Top service. Dream view of the North Sea. Delicious East Frisian beer and mega delicious burgers at normal prices! Oh yes, the rice pudding was also very good!

We love coming back to Utkiek every year Everything is just right, from the friendly welcome to the atmosphere to the food and ice cream afterwards.

Service was very inattentive, we waited 25 minutes for drinks, this was the second time. In such a situation, service is the be-all and end-all, things have to be done quickly. Unfortunately it wasn't given. Had to drink my drink quickly as my booked boat trip began.
