A very special café with truly delicious and unusual dishes. In addition to good coffee, they also offer dishes you won't find everywhere, such as currywurst from a jar with sweet potato fries or a hearty goulash soup. Everything was delicious. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. Prices are in the normal to slightly upscale range, but nothing negative stands out. We only happened upon this place by chance because it was raining heavily, and we were pleasantly surprised. It was definitely worth it, and we would come back even without the rain. My only criticism: In this day and age, it's a shame that card payments aren't yet accepted here. Unfortunately, that's why we lose one star.

The best place for a sundowner (weather permitting) and watching kitesurfing, kite flying, people watching (+ 🐩🐕…), along with a delicious drink (East Frisian brewery, wheat beer, and more), a Mattjes baguette, a waffle, etc. Service, food, view (Utkiek), ambiance… everything was perfect, and the price/performance ratio was also excellent.

We had a great experience. When we arrived Friday evening, all the tables were occupied. However, we had to wait, and after about five minutes, a table outside became available, which we were then able to sit at. The food came very quickly and tasted delicious. There was a good selection of dishes (meat/vegetarian/vegan). The service was friendly, open, engaging, respectful, and very attentive. I was very impressed with her. We had a beautiful view of the sea and the sunset. We were able to pay quickly at the end. Unfortunately, card payments were not accepted, but this was advertised beforehand, so we could see online before we arrived that card payments were not accepted. We are glad we chose this option. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the question in tourist-oriented places is often the quality of the food. You usually get bland cafeteria food at inflated prices. It's quite different at Utkiek: The prices are relatively moderate, the portions are adequate, and served with care. Plus, the friendly, personal service. Thank you very much for that!

Very tasty and very friendly with a great location

You have to be lucky to snag one of the few outdoor seats. But then you're sitting beautifully with a magnificent view up on the dike. The food is excellent, the service super friendly, and the value for money is absolutely reasonable. One small drawback: you have to be a bit patient until you can order or get something. But what the heck... I'm on vacation and have time. So, no star deduction for that.

We drank delicious fruit juice and ate burgers and fried fish. The view was fantastic. We'd be happy to go again.

The food was good/very good. I had a burger with fries. Everything seemed fresh and tasted very good. Personally, I didn't need the fried egg on the burger. Unfortunately, it made the burger a bit greasier. If you like that kind of thing, you should definitely leave it on. My daughter had the pork schnitzel with fried potatoes. She also really enjoyed it. The only criticism, like mine, was that it was a bit overcooked. Despite that, we were both very satisfied and ate everything. The service was super friendly. The waitresses' names were even on their aprons. We sat in a beach chair and could look out over the kite-flying meadow to the sea. That was really great. Normal noises from passersby or guests sitting around. Highly recommended!

We rented one of the two vacation apartments this year and also reserved a table at Utkiek for the duration of our stay. It was the best decision! Utkiek is run by a very friendly couple, and the staff are all very attentive and welcoming. The food was consistently delicious and excellent value for money. The vacation apartment is very lovingly furnished, and the view of the sea is simply stunning. We felt completely at home at Utkiek and have already booked for next year. A big thank you to the wonderful Utkiek family!

Our new favorite restaurant in Norddeich. Incredibly good food, prepared with love. The "Sturmbeutel" (steamed sausage) for dessert is addictive.

The vegetarian burger is pretty good. The All In Burger feels like the patty is just frozen. The burger itself was good, though. The main drawback is that card payments aren't accepted. Also, the fries weren't cooked all the way through. For that price, you'd expect to get less-than-smooth fries. The service was friendly, though, and the view from the beach chair was beautiful.

Utkiek lives up to its name: step in and look out—at the sea or the mudflats, whichever you prefer. Dogs are welcome. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious at reasonable prices. It's a great way to while away November by the sea. We'd love to come back.

Wir haben 1 Woche in der Ferienwohnung "Upkammer" verbracht, diese ist sehr geräumig und sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Sensationell ist der Blick aufs Meer, den Deich und den Hafen. Auch das Café Utkiek ist wunderschön eingerichtet. Super ist es, wenn man im Strandkorb vor dem Haus einen Kaffee oder Sanddorn-Sprizz oder gar einen "Sturmbeutel", gefüllt mit Sahne und Kirschen genießen kann. Der Blick aufs Meer ist inclusive. Jederzeit gerne wieder

Great atmosphere. We, five people, went there for dinner. First impression: clean and tidy. The service was friendly, helpful, and competent. Drinks were brought promptly. The food was delicious, plentiful, and very tasty. Restrooms are clean and tidy. Definitely worth a visit. We would love to come back.

Super leckeres Essen, blitzschneller Service und extrem freundliches Personal – besser geht’s nicht. Immer wieder gerne! Die Speisen waren frisch, liebevoll angerichtet und kamen heiß auf den Tisch. Auch Extrawünsche wurden problemlos erfüllt. Wer Qualität, Tempo und Herzlichkeit sucht, ist hier genau richtig.

Direct views of the Wadden Sea. Pleasantly cool inside in hot weather. There are also outdoor seating areas, some in the shade, and you can also sit in beach chairs. Waffles are freshly prepared.

In diesem angefragten Lokal kann man von mittags bis abends Speisen zu sich nehmen. Ob Fisch oder Schnitzel: alles da. Auch Kuchen gibt es. Ab 18.00 Uhr sind wegen des Ausblicks auf das Wattenmeer fast alle Tische reserviert. Empfehlen würde ich den Matjes auf Schwarzbrot. Lecker.

The ambiance is very nice, as is the view, but that's about it. Unfortunately, my dish wasn't very impressive; it was processed frozen food, which I only discovered later. Only after I asked more specifically whether the fish was fresh, as I immediately noticed something was wrong, did they admit, after much back and forth, that it was a frozen product and that this is completely normal in restaurants. Absolutely outrageous! I don't recommend it—I can buy frozen food at Aldi or Lidl for a fraction of the price. All in all—if you want good food, you're far better off in the town center. There are first-class fish restaurants there.

Yes. Great view of the sea. More bistro and cafe than restaurant. Only two fried fish dishes on the menu, but both very good. Friendly service. Normal prices, so not a tourist trap.

A really nice café. The East Frisian tea in the pot was delicious. Just right for warming up.

Toilet not suitable for XXL women the waffles with vanilla ice cream were very tasty... the view was also nice... But the toilet. At first there was only one toilet for men and one for women. The one for women was in the basement, which I have no problem with. But the spaciousness - if you can even speak of spaciousness - was so tight that you would have had to go in backwards. I just couldn't get through the door, I couldn't even fit across it, so I got stuck. I'm guessing the door and the toilet were about half the width of a normal door, if that. I find that cheeky, if not even discriminatory - going to the toilet is a human need and this must be made possible for all people, not just slim people and people in wheelchairs - sorry, but also people who are strongly built. As a fat woman, I'm used to a lot of things, but the fact that I can't go to the toilet because it's too narrow - that's the last straw. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. At the top of the stairs there must be a note saying "NOT FOR XXL WOMEN", so many women who are no longer good at walking will save themselves the walk for nothing. That's why there are only 2 stars overall.

It's always nice to be pampered by the great service after a hike by the lake with delicious food and a view over the promenade.

Of course the best location is best to come after 6 p.m. to enjoy the evening sun, not so much going on and the East Frisian dark beer is highly recommended. The only thing that is a bit strange is that three people are responsible for one table. One takes the food. One person serves the drinks to the next and collects the money - it's easier. ATTENTION CASH ONLY but that's no problem

Very tasty food, very nice staff, nice view over the dike and beach. Definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, it is only suitable to a limited extent for disabled or elderly people, as it can only be reached via stairs and the toilets are quite narrow.

Hier kann man hervorragend Essen, die besten Bratkartoffeln in ganz Norddeich. Das freundliche Personal ist für uns immer wieder ein Grund vorbeizuschauen. Auch das Preis-Leisungsverhältnis stimmt. Weiter so !!!!!!
