Honestly, my favorite Japanese spot in Hamburg! Some might argue for the pricier places, but in my opinion, Tyo Tyo strikes the perfect balance—delicious food at a reasonable price. The dark, moody setting, quirky art, and stylish furniture create a unique vibe, the cocktails are to die for, making it a great choice for a girls’ night or a date. ;)

Food was great, waitress a bit hectic but everything else was nice. I'm a student so unfortunately I don't have that much money, since the food was so expensive I unfortunately don't have any drinking money but I'll use it next time :)

We had a wonderful evening at this sushi restaurant! As soon as we entered we were warmly welcomed and immediately felt the pleasant atmosphere. The service was exceptionally attentive and friendly - we felt completely at home. The advice was particularly commendable: Even those in our group who didn't like fish were given excellent care and given a first-class selection of alternatives. The dishes were of the highest quality, lovingly prepared and a real highlight in terms of taste. We were thrilled by the variety of sushi creations combined with delicious warm dishes. Every detail was thought out, from the freshness of the ingredients to the presentation of the plates. A perfect evening with excellent food, great service and a welcoming atmosphere - we will definitely be back!

Esperamos 2 horas por el sushi. El tiempo que tuvimos para la comida fue de 2 horas también. No parecían tomarnos en serio a pesar de que se lo dijimos varias veces, nuestro sushi aún no había llegado. Cuando finalmente tuvimos el sushi después de 2 horas, fue extremadamente decepcionante. Esperábamos un sabor mucho mejor, especialmente los altos precios tomados en cuenta. Este lugar muestra que los precios altos no significan alta calidad. Hay demasiado ruido también en el restaurante.

Really great food, wonderful ambience and top service! I was here with my boyfriend who was celebrating his birthday and his family. His parents thought we had been here before because we were so warmly welcomed. It was our first, but definitely not our last time!

To recommend is really an understatement; It is simply a must to experience this special elegance and pleasure. We wanted to do something special for our 20th anniversary and we were really able to do that here. From the welcome to the farewell, everything was great, and the meal was an indescribable experience; There is a lot of passion and a lot of sensitivity in the preparation. The hour's journey was more than worth it, and we would be happy to come back. Great team, fun to watch.

Food was good, the rest was disappointing. We made a reservation over the phone and had to wait 15-20 minutes to be seated. We were then taken to the bar and had to wait another 5 minutes until we finally got to the table. After 10-15 minutes we were able to order after calling someone. The staff at reception and the service came across as very annoyed and unfriendly. Our Suhsi was delivered to us after over 50 minutes!! delivered, plus these very high prices. That doesn't add up. We're happy to pay for good food and a nice atmosphere, but not for unfriendly staff and such long waiting times. For these prices you can expect good service. Too bad.

Great ambience and delicious food with great service! In summer you can even sit on the terrace along the restaurant by the water. If the Asian map is for a new one, the service is very helpful and is happy to explain everything to you, very professional! First of all, the white miso soup is an insider tip! Otherwise you should try eating some fish and some meat, the dishes also work very well for sharing!

The attentive service begins at the cloakroom. Great atmosphere, we had a place with a view of the Osterbek Canal. High-quality furnishings with warm brown tones and subdued, elaborate lighting. Unfortunately, the menu changes completely almost every month and some of the creations are too “fancy”. Price performance for HH is rather below average.

Anlässige meine Frau Geburtstag waren wir gestern für die gefühlt 1000 Mal ins Tyo Tyo. Der Kelner kennt uns schon und weiss welche Wein wir normalerweise trinken. Ich habe schon mehrere Kritiken/Berichten über die Tyo Tyo verfasst und ich finde zunehmend schwer andere Superlative zu finden. Bei Tyo Tyo gefällt uns alles, das schöne und geschmackvolles Raum, die aufmerksames Personal und natürlich und selbstverständlich das Essen. Wer noch nicht ins Tyo Tyo war hat was in Leben verpasst. Bis zum nächste Mal ins Tyo Tyo.

I had dinner at Tyo Tyo with my husband on Saturday evening. The ambience was appealingly nice. Service was a complete disaster. Only the drink menus were placed on the table and then nothing came for a long time. We then had to tell a service person. The volume level was also extremely high, which made conversation uncomfortable. The food was run of the mill for us. So the taste didn't blow us away. We liked sushi much better in other restaurants. Here the price-performance ratio is simply not right at all. Dogs are allowed in this restaurant, which is a no-go for me. On the way to the toilets there was dirt on the steps that smelled like dog poop. Someone must have stepped in it outside. When we ordered drinks again, we were simply forgotten. When we wanted to pay, the waitress didn't come either. We then got up and went to the front to pay. I complained to the waitress about the very poor service and he just said, without apologizing in any way, that it was full. But that's not the paying guest's problem if it's full and the service staff aren't doing their job. This store is all about seeing and being seen. It was another experience for us, but we cannot recommend this restaurant. We are extremely disappointed. Conclusion: More appearance than reality.🤷🏼‍♀️

It was just perfect! At first glance the map looked a lot and we were a little overwhelmed. But if you take a little time, it's actually not that confusing. There was a nice selection of food. Which is probably changed in nuances every 6 months. There was also the option to choose from several "5-course" menus put together by the restaurant. In terms of price, the restaurant is on the higher side. But the price/performance ratio is very strong. All in all, you can say that the food was simply fantastic and the ambience (right on the water) was simply beautiful in the evenings/nights.

There were two of us at Tyo Tyo and overall we had a wonderful evening. At the beginning we weren't seated at the table we wanted, but our wish was later fulfilled, which made us very happy. The quality of the sushi was simply incredible – everything here is really good! We were absolutely thrilled by the freshness, taste and variety. A special highlight of the evening was the incredibly friendly and attentive waitress. She really brightened the evening with her positive charisma and commitment. Her wine recommendation, a Pinot Gris, was very good and went perfectly with our meal. It was clearly noticeable that she does her work with a lot of love - a huge compliment for that! The ambience is great – stylish, cozy and inviting. We felt completely comfortable and really enjoyed the evening. The price-performance ratio is also very good. Many thanks to the entire team for this great experience! We'll definitely be back.

This restaurant offers fusion-style Japanese food with laid-back ambience. The food might not be authentic Japanese. However, they are scrumptious. Here are my comments on the dishes I have tried : 1. Scallop Lime Roll (Scallops, Green Asparagus, Bell Pepper, Garlic Cream, Truffle Ponzu, Lime) : Everything was super fresh. This dish had textural contrast the moment I chewed. This roll has citrusy flavor and aroma. Every element of this roll was in harmony. 2. Orange Wave Roll (Yellow Fin Tuna, Avocado, Fried Shrimps, Spicy Teriyaki, Keta Caviar, Orange) : Tip-top quality of the ingredients. All ingredients were in perfect harmony, without one ingredient overpowered the others. Due to the orange, this dish was a bit milder in acidity compared with the lime in the scallop lime roll. 3. Spider Roll (Crispy Soft Shell Crab, Flambéed Salmon, Cream Cheese, Cucumber, Bell Pepper, Kimchi Butter) : This dish was somewhat weaker than the scallop lime roll and orange wave roll. The soft shell crab was kind of submerged into the rest of the ingredients. First of all, the chef could have used bigger soft shell crabs. Secondly, the taste of the salmon kind of overpowered the subtle soft shell crab. Here the better version could have been to omit the salmon. However, the dish still ended up delicious. 4. Ceviche Cod (Cod, Leche de Tigre, Lime, Sweet Potato, Plantain) : This dish was re-interpreted style of Peruvian ceviche while still having maintained the original taste. The addition of the puffed corns and pomegranate seeds made sense. The pomegranate seeds added fruity sweetness-sourness and textural contrast. The puffed corns were also added to give another layer of textural contrast. Unfortunately the acidity of the lime was not balanced well as it tasted quite harshly sour. Addition of corn or more sweet potatoes could have balanced the dish better. 5. Chisana Sashimi (Salmon Sashimi) : The salmon was very fresh. It was worth it.

A really nice restaurant with super tasty and creative sushi. The starters, such as the kale salad and the salmon and tuna tartare, are also highly recommended.

100 out of 5 stars!!! Wow - what a store! We were with a large group I Tyo Tyo and had a wonderful experience from a-z there. The food is simply incredible, bomb quality at very, very fair prices. Even the four-season sushi and the Hennsler are overshadowed here. In addition, the vegetarian dishes were world-class, unlike anything we've ever eaten in Berlin, Düsseldorf or Cologne. Service, ambience, decoration - everything was top top top. We will 1000% come back. THANKS!

Overall, a really great shop with incredibly good food. However, I noticed negatively that the waitress who served us only ever spoke to my friend even though I spoke to her and didn't even look at me. I find that unfriendly.

The sushi was really good, the starter and dessert too. Unfortunately the pulp was... boring. We had the seafood platter for two people, we expected better for the price. At over €70 per person, every little part really has to flash. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. I've eaten better in a Japanese snack bar in Düsseldorf.

Ambiance was very classy and nice, sushi was okay but absolutely nothing special and really disappointing for the price. Service was catastrophic… waited far too long and sometimes stroppy waiters… Price/performance 0/10!!!

If you've never eaten sushi before, you definitely have to eat there. Great, I can only recommend it.

An upscale restaurant with Asian cuisine in crossover. Very attentive service, with tables cleared and cleaned between courses. Not too pushy but always available. New cutlery and lots of little touches. The food is very creative and artfully prepared and also tastes very good. A spectacle. Whether you go to the theater or spend an evening here in this restaurant is entertainment and not just "eating out". That's why I think the price-performance ratio is absolutely ok. We were in the dark in the evening, but the interior ambience was very romantic. A mixed audience from young to older (me) and also families were there. This is perfect for special occasions or just a date.

One of the city's upscale restaurants. You should definitely reserve a table in advance, but this can easily be done a little in advance of the reservation date. Friendly service. You can watch how the food is prepared. Facilities very elegant but comfortable. You are given a good explanation of what you are going to eat. Super tasty, but a bit too expensive. SUSHI and especially the desserts are super delicious. Service excellent. With 4 people it costs around 250 euros with drinks. If you want to treat yourself, this is the right place to have a good time. Audience mixed in age. Trendy and exclusive... minus point; There is no seaweed salad!

The food was tasty, but relatively expensive. We waited over 60 minutes between 1st and 2nd course. The ambience is mostly very nice - but there is also an area where you just sit on benches at a table and you feel a bit like you're sitting in a beer tent. Unfortunately we got such a place. We noticed that several guests refused to sit there. . The service was tried hard, but there is still room for improvement there too. From missing menus to menus incorrectly brought in English, to the point that we have to ask if we are allowed to order. All in all, not an experience that needs to be repeated.

Delicious food, nice ambience and nice employees!

If you order the meat set menu, you’ll spend the next six months regretting it. The only sushi dish offered was the crispy duck sushi. The soft sushi base was paired with duck meat as hard as a rock. This soft-hard contrast doesn’t delight—it will leave your mouth feeling battered, and swallowing it is pure torment. The lemon juice was so sour and bitter it was far from drinkable. This restaurant is considered on the pricier side (around 100 euros per person), yet even with a reservation made a week in advance, we were still seated elbow-to-elbow with other guests. I could hear every flirtatious whisper of the couple sitting next to me. On top of that, when the gentleman next to me rhythmically drummed on his chair, my seat shook as well I couldn’t eat for 15 minutes. The service staff’s attitude was casual and I felt disrespected for most of the meal. Dining at Tyotyo felt like paying to be tortured. I went there to celebrate a birthday, but the experience was so dreadful it brought me to tears.

It is really an average restaurant. Ambience is nice but up to certain time , then it doesn't feels good. Foods are overpriced, and tastes average. Some of our orders got forgotten, and it took a long long time to get the food. In between orders wait time is very very long. I hope this restaurant will improve in future.

The food (we had 3 of the 4 menus) was to die for and nothing was left behind - we loved it! The sushi is a hit and the CrossOver Dishes were really excitingly new and very tasty. Nice atmosphere, very good sushi, but very confident pricing policy. In my opinion, over €70 per person for a sushi menu is too expensive for what is on offer and is the only reason that keeps me from coming back. The quality of the food is excellent, the reception was great and very friendly, the service at the table could be a little more attentive.

I reserved a table especially for my birthday and agreed on which table it should be two weeks in advance. I was even offered the opportunity to reserve a table and it was also noted. My dogs were actually supposed to come with me, so it was important where the table was. I wanted a window seat overlooking the canal. Apparently no problem at all. On the day itself, however, that was it and you were simply fobbed off in an unfriendly manner because the usher freely gave out the tables. He didn't really care about a hint that it had been discussed specifically with his colleague. Great on your own birthday. Unfortunately the price/performance ratio is not right. However, waitress was very friendly and very capable. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the store has gone downhill.

Reserved on November 8th, 2024 for 6:30 p.m.! When I arrived at the restaurant I was welcomed and taken to the reserved table. All well and good up to this point. Then a waitress came twice within 1 minute and asked if we already knew what we WANTED to drink instead of. Still in the negative because we were still looking. After a few minutes we decided which drinks and dishes we wanted. We wait and wait for at least 15 minutes but no one comes. The colleague who welcomed us then asked if we could order. Of course my colleague will come straight away. We continued to wait. The people sitting next to us came after us but they got their drinks even though I told them that I would like to order. The certain employee shamelessly walks past us without any reaction. Busy with the dishes instead of taking our order. Then got up and put on a jacket because of this disrespectful hospitality. Out of emotions, I told the employee when I was walking past that I would rather stick with my kebab, whereupon the unfriendly lady, who clearly has no respect or shame, replied: “That’s what you look like”! This disrespect and lack of decency can no longer be surpassed. I come from outside Hamburg and have been visiting this restaurant almost every week for years. Treating a “regular” like that and being miserable! Such an employee damages the reputation of the restaurant through such erroneous behavior that goes below the belt! I can't imagine that the managing director would tolerate such behavior or even want someone like that on his team! This behavior leads to a bad image and a “non-recommendation or even discouragement” from visiting this restaurant. My last words and advice to the owner of this restaurant: “Customer is king” which you should treat accordingly and not filter what origin or hair color you wear. Please take care of your team and ensure the guests' satisfaction!

Delicious sushi on the Fleet. You should reserve, every table was occupied. Nice service, it wasn't too loud. The prices are a little higher, but the overall package is right.

At the beginning of August I had dinner there with my girlfriend (make sure to make a reservation). We were shown to our seat by a friendly waitress. When I handed over the menu, I would have liked to have been informed that this was just the drinks menu and that the menu would be brought straight away. People at the next table were just as confused. The restaurant is totally stylishly decorated. Really beautiful. However, the toilets are a little hidden (downstairs) and my friend found the corridor there too dark. Otherwise everything is stylish. The food was great and the presentation was of course a hit. However, we would have liked a selection of different varieties, you have to choose one (eight pieces). During the course of the meal we noticed that the air conditioning was turned up properly. It is advisable to take something with you to wear over it.

Limited length of stay: It would be helpful if restaurants would inform in advance about time restrictions (as soon as you enter the restaurant and not when you want to take your seats) so that guests are not surprised. This can seem too incomprehensible, especially if the restaurant is not at full capacity. 2. Allergen labeling: The labeling of additives such as sodium glutamate (does not tolerate flavor enhancers) is not only required by law, but is also important information for guests with allergies or intolerances. This was not clearly visible! You have to look very closely at the interior lighting! You don't have enough time to order food. Been busy all night! This was my last visit there!

Meine Frau und ich gehen gern und oft in Restaurants. Der Tyo tyo ist fast unsere Stammlokal. Wir waren schon unzählige Mal dort und waren immer sehr zufrieden. Letzte Freitag waren wir mit ein Freund und waren wie immer begeistert. Der Raum ist gross aber gemütlich, das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit und das Essen war wir immer grossartig. Wer asiatisches Essen mag ist das Tyo tyo für mich sowas wie ein Pflichtadresse.

Without question - the food looks and tastes great. And now the but: while the lady at the entrance greeted us almost exuberantly and brought us to the table really nicely, we probably didn't seem befitting to the rest of the (male) staff - at least we felt that we were treated rather condescendingly. The ambience should appear decidedly chic - but it also needs confident, courteous staff. The price/performance ratio didn't suit us at all - in comparable restaurants in Berlin or Munich you get not only consistently nice, courteous service, regardless of your clothing style, but also more sushi for your money. Overall, we had a nice evening, the food was tasty - but we wouldn't come back again.

Very nice atmosphere. Sushi variations are unusual and very tasty. Service very friendly and accommodating.

This is the third time we have been to TyoTyo and we have always been satisfied. Exciting cuisine. Service is on point. Nice speech. Good explanations. Quality good. All in all a great evening. I would personally recommend making a reservation to be on the safe side.

Beautifully furnished, elegant, stylish sushi restaurant with a feel-good atmosphere. The color scale includes all colors in muted tones and they all fit together harmoniously. The employees are dressed in black, create a casual atmosphere and use the first-name names of the guests. That's totally fine for me, but some guests might not see it that way. All dishes are freshly prepared in the glass kitchen, so you can constantly take a look at the preparation. Everything is delicious and exceptionally good; as well as the extensive selection of drinks and desserts. However, the drinking straws are made of cardboard and after a few minutes they soften and fall apart; they look good, but have no function. The sushi selection is explained in detail and presented with a dry ice show effect. The service staff are friendly, helpful and give you very good, detailed advice so that you can make a good choice. However, it would have been nice and in keeping with the style of the restaurant if the table had been wiped between the main course and dessert to free it of crumbs etc. Table reservation is mandatory. The prices are in the middle to upper price segment. We'd love to come back.

The food is very good and tasty. The staff friendly. However, the price is not proportional to the service. The request to leave the table after two hours in advance is already exciting. You get what you put up with, the food and ambience are top, the two hour rule is annoying and for me it won't be a second time.

TYO TYO has really delicious dishes and great drinks. The portions are more than sufficient and I have always left the restaurant satisfied.

Food sensational. Service, if at the table, is really great. Unfortunately, the service was not as present as we would have liked. I expect perfect timing on the financial number. The dessert had long since been eaten and we canceled the espresso 15 minutes later. Too bad... We'll definitely come back, but something has to happen.
