Overall, a really great shop with incredibly good food. However, I noticed negatively that the waitress who served us only ever spoke to my friend even though I spoke to her and didn't even look at me. I find that unfriendly.

The sushi was really good, the starter and dessert too. Unfortunately the pulp was... boring. We had the seafood platter for two people, we expected better for the price. At over €70 per person, every little part really has to flash. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. I've eaten better in a Japanese snack bar in Düsseldorf.

If you've never eaten sushi before, you definitely have to eat there. Great, I can only recommend it.

Ambiance was very classy and nice, sushi was okay but absolutely nothing special and really disappointing for the price. Service was catastrophic… waited far too long and sometimes stroppy waiters… Price/performance 0/10!!!

Great restaurant, absolutely top quality food and would love to eat again

An upscale restaurant with Asian cuisine in crossover. Very attentive service, with tables cleared and cleaned between courses. Not too pushy but always available. New cutlery and lots of little touches. The food is very creative and artfully prepared and also tastes very good. A spectacle. Whether you go to the theater or spend an evening here in this restaurant is entertainment and not just "eating out". That's why I think the price-performance ratio is absolutely ok. We were in the dark in the evening, but the interior ambience was very romantic. A mixed audience from young to older (me) and also families were there. This is perfect for special occasions or just a date.

Sehr netter Empfang, schönes Ambiente und sehr gutes Essen. Wir hatten zwei Vorspeisen, drei Rollen Sushi und ein Dessert. Alles in Allem 132 Euro- völlig ok für das Gebotene. Wir kommen wieder .

One of the city's upscale restaurants. You should definitely reserve a table in advance, but this can easily be done a little in advance of the reservation date. Friendly service. You can watch how the food is prepared. Facilities very elegant but comfortable. You are given a good explanation of what you are going to eat. Super tasty, but a bit too expensive. SUSHI and especially the desserts are super delicious. Service excellent. With 4 people it costs around 250 euros with drinks. If you want to treat yourself, this is the right place to have a good time. Audience mixed in age. Trendy and exclusive... minus point; There is no seaweed salad!

As always, we are very enthusiastic and have been regular guests for 3 years now. The food, service and ambience deserve 5 stars. Many of our friends are now coming along and are just as excited as we are. You can tell the service employees have a good working atmosphere. Everyone is in a good mood & very attentive. You rarely see something like that anymore. We recommend the TYO TYO 100% and will come back soon.

It was pleasure too have a dinner at this warm and cozy place. Food was fresh and tasty, service was warm and fast. We would recommend this place and definitely will come back.

This is our first time in Hamburg and we are extremely happy! Mr. Kim gave us excellent advice and looked after us very well. The service was absolutely top – professional, friendly and accommodating. We felt completely comfortable and can only recommend it. We would be happy to come back, thank you very much!

The food was tasty, but relatively expensive. We waited over 60 minutes between 1st and 2nd course. The ambience is mostly very nice - but there is also an area where you just sit on benches at a table and you feel a bit like you're sitting in a beer tent. Unfortunately we got such a place. We noticed that several guests refused to sit there. . The service was tried hard, but there is still room for improvement there too. From missing menus to menus incorrectly brought in English, to the point that we have to ask if we are allowed to order. All in all, not an experience that needs to be repeated.

Delicious food, nice ambience and nice employees!

If you order the meat set menu, you’ll spend the next six months regretting it. The only sushi dish offered was the crispy duck sushi. The soft sushi base was paired with duck meat as hard as a rock. This soft-hard contrast doesn’t delight—it will leave your mouth feeling battered, and swallowing it is pure torment. The lemon juice was so sour and bitter it was far from drinkable. This restaurant is considered on the pricier side (around 100 euros per person), yet even with a reservation made a week in advance, we were still seated elbow-to-elbow with other guests. I could hear every flirtatious whisper of the couple sitting next to me. On top of that, when the gentleman next to me rhythmically drummed on his chair, my seat shook as well I couldn’t eat for 15 minutes. The service staff’s attitude was casual and I felt disrespected for most of the meal. Dining at Tyotyo felt like paying to be tortured. I went there to celebrate a birthday, but the experience was so dreadful it brought me to tears.

Like every time: great food, competent service, very friendly and helpful; Ambiance with a stylish luxury...it's really very nice there. And yes, a visit with 4 people costs around 250 euros, that's not a bargain but considering what is delivered, that's completely fine!! Always happy again!

It is really an average restaurant. Ambience is nice but up to certain time , then it doesn't feels good. Foods are overpriced, and tastes average. Some of our orders got forgotten, and it took a long long time to get the food. In between orders wait time is very very long. I hope this restaurant will improve in future.

As always, a wonderful place with lots of nice people, incredibly good food and everything in a great atmosphere. Our host Christopher gave us 7 excellent advice and was always there for us. The food (we had 3 of the 4 menus) was to die for and nothing was left behind - we loved it! The sushi is a hit and the CrossOver Dishes were really excitingly new and very tasty. Plus great wine and comfortable seats... Nothing more is possible and we'll be back very quickly to enjoy more! 1000 thanks to the whole team - you are great! ❤️

Nice atmosphere, very good sushi, but very confident pricing policy. In my opinion, over €70 per person for a sushi menu is too expensive for what is on offer and is the only reason that keeps me from coming back. The quality of the food is excellent, the reception was great and very friendly, the service at the table could be a little more attentive.

Absolute taste journey through one of the 4-course menus.

I reserved a table especially for my birthday and agreed on which table it should be two weeks in advance. I was even offered the opportunity to reserve a table and it was also noted. My dogs were actually supposed to come with me, so it was important where the table was. I wanted a window seat overlooking the canal. Apparently no problem at all. On the day itself, however, that was it and you were simply fobbed off in an unfriendly manner because the usher freely gave out the tables. He didn't really care about a hint that it had been discussed specifically with his colleague. Great on your own birthday. Unfortunately the price/performance ratio is not right. However, waitress was very friendly and very capable. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the store has gone downhill.

Number 1 in my favorite restaurants 🤗 An absolute experience, perfect service and the food was just an absolute delight. We had the “Seafood Bites” menu with another course of “Truffle Tuna” sushi - just wow! 12 out of 10 points 💫 we will come back on our next visit to Hamburg.

Reserved on November 8th, 2024 for 6:30 p.m.! When I arrived at the restaurant I was welcomed and taken to the reserved table. All well and good up to this point. Then a waitress came twice within 1 minute and asked if we already knew what we WANTED to drink instead of. Still in the negative because we were still looking. After a few minutes we decided which drinks and dishes we wanted. We wait and wait for at least 15 minutes but no one comes. The colleague who welcomed us then asked if we could order. Of course my colleague will come straight away. We continued to wait. The people sitting next to us came after us but they got their drinks even though I told them that I would like to order. The certain employee shamelessly walks past us without any reaction. Busy with the dishes instead of taking our order. Then got up and put on a jacket because of this disrespectful hospitality. Out of emotions, I told the employee when I was walking past that I would rather stick with my kebab, whereupon the unfriendly lady, who clearly has no respect or shame, replied: “That’s what you look like”! This disrespect and lack of decency can no longer be surpassed. I come from outside Hamburg and have been visiting this restaurant almost every week for years. Treating a “regular” like that and being miserable! Such an employee damages the reputation of the restaurant through such erroneous behavior that goes below the belt! I can't imagine that the managing director would tolerate such behavior or even want someone like that on his team! This behavior leads to a bad image and a “non-recommendation or even discouragement” from visiting this restaurant. My last words and advice to the owner of this restaurant: “Customer is king” which you should treat accordingly and not filter what origin or hair color you wear. Please take care of your team and ensure the guests' satisfaction!

Delicious sushi on the Fleet. You should reserve, every table was occupied. Nice service, it wasn't too loud. The prices are a little higher, but the overall package is right.

At the beginning of August I had dinner there with my girlfriend (make sure to make a reservation). We were shown to our seat by a friendly waitress. When I handed over the menu, I would have liked to have been informed that this was just the drinks menu and that the menu would be brought straight away. People at the next table were just as confused. The restaurant is totally stylishly decorated. Really beautiful. However, the toilets are a little hidden (downstairs) and my friend found the corridor there too dark. Otherwise everything is stylish. The food was great and the presentation was of course a hit. However, we would have liked a selection of different varieties, you have to choose one (eight pieces). During the course of the meal we noticed that the air conditioning was turned up properly. It is advisable to take something with you to wear over it.

1. Limited length of stay: It would be helpful if restaurants would inform in advance about time restrictions (as soon as you enter the restaurant and not when you want to take your seats) so that guests are not surprised. This can seem too incomprehensible, especially if the restaurant is not at full capacity. 2. Allergen labeling: The labeling of additives such as sodium glutamate (does not tolerate flavor enhancers) is not only required by law, but is also important information for guests with allergies or intolerances. This was not clearly visible! You have to look very closely at the interior lighting! You don't have enough time to order food. Been busy all night! This was my last visit there!

Meine Frau und ich gehen gern und oft in Restaurants. Der Tyo tyo ist fast unsere Stammlokal. Wir waren schon unzählige Mal dort und waren immer sehr zufrieden. Letzte Freitag waren wir mit ein Freund und waren wie immer begeistert. Der Raum ist gross aber gemütlich, das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit und das Essen war wir immer grossartig. Wer asiatisches Essen mag ist das Tyo tyo für mich sowas wie ein Pflichtadresse.

Sushi is imaginative and very well crafted. Tastes very good, nice aromas. Service perfect and unobtrusive. You have to like the dark ambience - including black toilet paper. I liked it. Highly priced. I only found the taco sushi shells overpriced.

Without question - the food looks and tastes great. And now the but: while the lady at the entrance greeted us almost exuberantly and brought us to the table really nicely, we probably didn't seem befitting to the rest of the (male) staff - at least we felt that we were treated rather condescendingly. The ambience should appear decidedly chic - but it also needs confident, courteous staff. The price/performance ratio didn't suit us at all - in comparable restaurants in Berlin or Munich you get not only consistently nice, courteous service, regardless of your clothing style, but also more sushi for your money. Overall, we had a nice evening, the food was tasty - but we wouldn't come back again.

This is the third time we have been to TyoTyo and we have always been satisfied. Exciting cuisine. Service is on point. Nice speech. Good explanations. Quality good. All in all a great evening. I would personally recommend making a reservation to be on the safe side.

Beautifully furnished, elegant, stylish sushi restaurant with a feel-good atmosphere. The color scale includes all colors in muted tones and they all fit together harmoniously. The employees are dressed in black, create a casual atmosphere and use the first-name names of the guests. That's totally fine for me, but some guests might not see it that way. All dishes are freshly prepared in the glass kitchen, so you can constantly take a look at the preparation. Everything is delicious and exceptionally good; as well as the extensive selection of drinks and desserts. However, the drinking straws are made of cardboard and after a few minutes they soften and fall apart; they look good, but have no function. The sushi selection is explained in detail and presented with a dry ice show effect. The service staff are friendly, helpful and give you very good, detailed advice so that you can make a good choice. However, it would have been nice and in keeping with the style of the restaurant if the table had been wiped between the main course and dessert to free it of crumbs etc. Table reservation is mandatory. The prices are in the middle to upper price segment. We'd love to come back.

The food is very good and tasty. The staff friendly. However, the price is not proportional to the service. The request to leave the table after two hours in advance is already exciting. You get what you put up with, the food and ambience are top, the two hour rule is annoying and for me it won't be a second time.

Food sensational. Service, if at the table, is really great. Unfortunately, the service was not as present as we would have liked. I expect perfect timing on the financial number. The dessert had long since been eaten and we canceled the espresso 15 minutes later. Too bad... We'll definitely come back, but something has to happen.

The food is absolutely great, everything was fresh and super tasty. The prices are correspondingly high and seemed too high to me in some places. The menu offers a large selection of unusual Suchi, unfortunately the only way to get a "colorful mix" is the Chef's Chois for two people. However, we were told that requests such as “no meat please” cannot be taken into account. Personally, I thought that was a shame, but we ultimately decided on it. The portion was okay, although it was small for two people. The employees were all very friendly throughout. However, it was sometimes difficult to get the attention of a waiter if you wanted to order another drink or to ask about the case law. The restaurant is very stylishly decorated. Everything is clean and really stylish. Unfortunately, the tables are very close together in places. This makes it quite loud and impersonal. All in all, I'm still impressed with the taste and quality of the food, but I'd rather try a different restaurant next time.

Gestern wollten wir einen schönen Abend als Paar verbringen und in den Geburtstag meiner Freundin feiern. Leider mussten wir uns dann zu einem vorzeitigen Aufbruch entscheiden. Aber von vorne: das Essen war wieder einmal großartig. Der Service war aber - auch wieder einmal- nicht der Qualität des Essens oder auch der Preise entsprechend. Das Personal ist freundlich aber nicht aufmerksam. Auf Getränke haben wir teilweise sehr lange warten müssen. Für uns war nicht ersichtlich, ob die Bestellung vergessen wurde oder einfach länger dauerte. Wir mussten aber mindestens zwei mal an die Getränke- Runden erinnern. Obwohl ja auch das Konzept im Teilen von Speisen besteht und schon von Beginn an ein extra Sushi- Teller plus Schälchen auf dem Tisch platziert sind, fällt es dem Personal nicht auf, dass der Tisch überquillt und man diesem Zustand durch das abräumen von unter anderem teilweise 6(!) leeren Gläsern abgeholfen werden könnte. Ebenso wurden leeren Schälchen (unter anderem Edame Schälchen plus zwei Schälchen für die leeren Hüllen, sowie die Vorspeise) nicht abgeräumt und der Tisch mit weiteren Speisen und Getränken „vollgestellt“. Als dann auf unser Betreiben doch mal abgeräumt wurde, war das abzuräumende Geschirr so viel, dass die benutzten Sushi Stäbchen auf mich fielen. Wirklich für sich genommen kein Problem, da das einfach mal passieren kann - aber halt passend zum Gesamteindruck. Wirklich störend war allerdings, dass wir nach dem Essen einfach nicht mehr bedient wurden. Wir eingangs beschrieben wollten wir gerne den Abend über im Tyo tyo verbringen und in den Geburtstag reinfeiern. Dazu gesellte sich ab viertel nach neun auch noch eine Freundin zu uns. Bis zu unserem frustrierten Aufbruch um viertel nach 10 wurde nicht einmal eine Bestellung entgegen genommen. Das Personal nahm uns sowie den neu dazugekommen Gast einfach nicht wahr. In der Zeit hätte man locker noch 2 Getränke pro Person „an den Mann bringen können“. Und wir wären ja auch noch länger geblieben. Nach mehreren erfolglosen versuchen entschieden wir unsere Drinks woanders zu uns nehmen zu wollen. Mit der Bezahlung funktionierte es aber ebenso wenig wie mit der Bestellung. Daraufhin ging ich an die Bar und erklärte, dass wir gerne zahlen würden und deutete auf unseren Tisch. Für weitere 20 Minuten passierte allerdings nichts. Daraufhin sprach ich wieder bei der Bar vor. Hier bot man mir an doch gleich „hier“ zu zahlen. Ich schätze den Pragmatismus daran, allerdings passt derartiges Bezahlgebaren wohl eher zum Mittagstisch- Imbiss als in ein Retaurant bei dem man gerade zu zweit für über 200 Euro gegessen hat. Insgesamt einfach schade und auch leider auch passend zu meinem letzten Eintrag zum Tyo Tyo.

Ambience and service are good. We would have liked to have something to drink but unfortunately no one asked us about it... The food wasn't always great. The sushi was great, but the spare ribs and pork belly were too salty and the marinades were too sweet. Great presentation of the food and quick service from the kitchen.

It was too fruity for us, unfortunately the fish wasn't the focus. In terms of taste, there are much better and cheaper ones!!! Alternatives. Price-performance ratio is not right at all. Quality is just average! Very stylish and chic inside, also very nice outside on the fleet. Dessert was significantly better, at around €80 per person we had (without wine accompaniment!) too expensive and no taste explosion. Service - needs an upgrade in this price range. Just go to the Blockhouse, the standard here is not that high and is much friendlier/closer to the customer.

Food was good but not for €70 per person. It didn't say anywhere on the menu that the menu for 2 closed at 8 a.m., which is why we got something similar put together for an extra charge of ~€45. The fish was fresh and the sushi rolls were special but sushi rice was too mushy and the remaining ingredients tasted ok. Oysters were good. The ambience and the staff were great

Update after 3 years (after Corona): The reception is nice, but unprofessional for a big city (compare Madrid or New York). It's not the employees, it's the management organization. The location is still - wow! Service is poor, catastrophic, restaurant was 50% busy, I waited 50 minutes for my main course, crazy. The bill came in 3 minutes, very expensive. All I can say is, keep it up dear management, this building will soon be empty too. Price-performance ratio is not right here at all! Three years ago: Fantastic food, as always. The service depends on the person. This time grade 5. Overwhelmed at the entrance. Had reserved through Open Table. They couldn't find my reservation. Other people stormed past the registration desk and took off their mouth and nose protection. Was placed in the last corner. First hint, you have to be out of here after 2 hours. Thank you very much! After 20 minutes I still wasn't served. Too bad. A restaurant in this price range should afford trained service staff and pay them sensibly, not students! Inattentive, sharp-edged, damaged glass during espresso. The food is fantastic as always!

The food is always 5/5, it's simply amazing. Sadly, the service often does not match the food quality and price. Everyone is always very friendly, but not as attentive as you would come to expect at a place like this. On my last visit the place was half empty, yet, we constantly had to flag down the waiter if we wanted something like new drinks or another dish. Our empty plates were sitting on our table for almost 30 minutes while we were waiting to order desert. We eventually gave up and went to the counter to pay. Which is fine if you're at a burger joint but not if you pay 100€ per person for a nice dinner. Again, they are always friendly and take care of every special order you might have, but for the prices you pay, my drink should not be empty for 20 minutes.

Wat een mooi restaurant. we waren een lang weekend in Hamburg met vrienden en hadden zin in Sushi. Via Tripadvisor kwamen we uit Bij TYO TYO. We hadden op het laatste moment gereserveerd en konden maar 2 uur zitten maar dat was voor ons prima. Uiteindelijk hebben we wel 3 uur gezeten en hebben en heerlijk gegegeten. Alles was top en de bediening was ook erg fijn. Ze dacht goed mee en voelde de sfeer perfect aan. Mochten we weer naar hamburg gaan dan gaan we hier zeker weer dineren!

We ordered one of the "for two people" menus and on the one hand we thought it would be around €60-70 for the menu, but you have to read the small print below because it says quite inconspicuously p.P. Well, per person, but the portions are all very small and we weren't really full, and when we asked what kind of dessert was included we were told "I don't know, that always changes".. and we then have a single small dessert plate got it for both of us, that alone made us feel pretty ripped off and we had to wait an incredibly long time for everything, we sat for over 2 hours for 2.3 mini courses. And what we also noticed is that regular customers are treated better than tourists. The staff seem friendly, but are not interested in the guests. The ambience is really nice but what's the point if everything else doesn't fit.

Sushi was good, we expected different starters, especially chicken karaage didn't taste right. Nice atmosphere and staff.

Tastes great, delicious, excellent quality. In addition, there is the very nice furnishings, clean and exceptionally designed toilets, and the super friendly, relaxed service. Needs improvement: A few more alternatives for desserts without sugar/milk etc. were great and would round the whole thing off.

I would kill for this restaurant. It's the best restaurant I've ever been to (and I've been to quite a few.) The value for money is extremely good, it's "a little" more expensive, but the food is amazing and definitely worth the price. I would particularly recommend the flamed salmon in crème fraîche. The waiters and waitresses are always friendly and humorous and even always know what my friend and I want to order since we are now there every week. It has the perfect volume, you can tune out people but still feel “in company”. The location on the Alster is also super cool. You can sit both inside and outside (if necessary with a blanket or heater). We always play cards or Monopoly on site and it has simply become a tradition for you. We are extremely excited, keep it up <3

The food is super tasty and, in my opinion, fairly priced, but it didn't blow me away either. The service is friendly and attentive, the ambience is something different, you just have to like this dark, club-like cube, but above all very relaxed for evenings in winter
