Tschechische Krone in Waltershausen

It was Sunday and we were on a “gourmet block”. The Bohemian dumplings were good, as was the beef goulash (€14.90) (not recommended for allergy sufferers), but the roast pork loin (€17.90) consisted of two slices of meat with a sweet tomato sauce (ready-made sauce? Or mixed from leftovers?) and a dollop of sweetened cream - half whipped, half melted. It was anything but tasty! As we all know, the eye eats with us?! Therefore a leaf of lettuce or a slice of cucumber or tomato would not have been bad. The card on the internet showed different (much cheaper) prices than the card we received. We are often in this area, but we will not be returning there. The purpose of the gourmet blocks is to attract guests, but that's not the case here.

We live near the border with the Czech Republic and therefore visited this restaurant. The dishes are original like ours ;) only the ambience isn't Bohemian or Czech, it's just old :) the portions were very good, as here, and the quality was also good. Price/performance goes like this. Nevertheless, you can do it sometimes if you don't always want to go to a Greek or Italian restaurant.

We celebrated our golden wedding anniversary on October 5th, 2024 with guests here from 6 p.m. We only spoke briefly to the boss three days beforehand about how many people we were and he had free rein to set up the table. When we came in we were very positively surprised, the table was beautifully decorated.👍👍👍 Each of our guests ordered food a la carte, starter, main course, dessert and it worked wonderfully, everyone enjoyed their food excellently. There was nothing to complain about. We had a very friendly and competent waitress. All of the guests and we felt very comfortable in the restaurant and everyone really enjoyed it👍 We would like to thank the boss of the house and the very friendly service👍 We personally wish you all the best and can do this with a clear conscience Recommend restaurant. Unfortunately, the restaurant has absolutely nothing to do with Bohemian or Czech cuisine, the ambience seems to be intentional and not perfect. Everything is very cold and loveless. It's more like a poorly run diner. The food makes me sick now when I think about it. Starter No.3 with turkey and vegetables pan and garlic bread would be drowned in a dark sauce, I looked for the vegetables in vain. The turkey meat was burnt and tasted like charcoal. The main course, apart from the fact that I ordered a pork steak with onions and bacon and fried potatoes, I got the sole of a shoe as meat, it was toe and wasn't a steak (wrong type of meat). Last but not least, everything was drowned in a dark sauce again. The cola was non-carbonated and tasted like cheap imitation cola that had been stale for 3 weeks. When the service came and I complained about the food, we were only told that they would pass it on... great. There weren't many dishes available. It's better if you close the shop, it's a complete disaster...

Unfortunately there is no way to rate the food. After we had to wait a long time for the menu, we were first delivered the wrong drinks. When we were informed after more than 40 minutes that the food we had ordered was no longer in stock and was also directly informed which other meals were sold out, we paid for the drinks and left the restaurant.

The service was very friendly and the food was good.

Unfortunately had to throw up afterwards so this will not be the best review. Looking for a place away from the highway and ended here. I took the burger which had little meat and was drowning in some sauce. My wife had a dried out thin 5x5 piece of fish which was supposed to be a salmon steak for 15,90 euro🤷‍♂️. Yes, we should return it to the kitchen, I know, our mistake. It was late and we wanted to go home. A miracle how this restaurant could get a 4.1 rating but seeing the reviews I understand as there are mainly pictures of ‘knedliky and gulas’ which is a rather safe choice so perhaps not the worst when you take a dish like this but do not go for dishes which need a trained cook as you are risking with your health 😎. Only plus I could find was the friendly man. Ps. Find the picture with wine defying gravity 😉

Eating like in the Czech Republic. If you love Bohemian cuisine, this is the place for you. Nice staff, cheap prices. We will be back.

If you love Bohemian food as much as I do, this is the place for you. I couldn't even choose one as my favorite dish here. It tastes unbeatable.

I was hungry and at the end of the day I saw that the Czech Koruna was open. Inexpensive, excellent Bohemian cuisine and warm, friendly service. Unfortunately very few guests😥 I'll be back and bring more guests with me! Promised!

Spontaneously drove off the highway and looked for and found a restaurant. Good, fast service, even small requests were fulfilled. Drinks and food were good and we enjoyed it.

Drinks warm, soup cold and the medium steak was more than well done... Once and not again......

Very nice restaurant and very reminiscent of the Czech Republic. Very nice staff and the chef is really into it. Already eaten the beef steak 3 times and it was exactly as ordered. Really recommended. Went there for a spontaneous meal in February 2024 and, as expected, the food was perfect.

We have been in the Giant Mountains every year for at least 33 years and know and love the cuisine there. We were all the more pleased about our delicious meal in the restaurant yesterday. “Krkonoše feeling” in Waltershausen with garlic soup, breaded cheese and sirloin. Simply delicious! The portions were more than sufficient (I had to have something packed) and were served by very friendly staff. Keep it up!👍😊

The garlic soup was very good as a starter but the main course was Szegedin goulash, well I didn't really like it

Was so disappointed with the Christmas dinner. We had an appointment with 14 people and googled the menu online. We were looking forward to pepper steak and chicken gyros. But then there was a small selection of 5 dishes, of which the sirloin was already out even though we were there at 12 p.m. So we had the choice of goulash, duck leg schnitzel or salmon. There was Even the first disappointment that we had previously chosen online didn't exist. Ok, I decided on the goulash with Bohemian dumplings. Now I have to say I never knew what Bohemian dumplings taste like, but the first time it was absolutely not my thing, the goulash tasted burnt and the 6 pieces of meat weren't that much either. I also ordered a large special that was served at room temperature. Bah. My wife had a duck leg because the chicken leg is bigger. All in all we were super disappointed 😞 I left Christmas dinner hungry because I had just eaten the 6 pieces of meat and nothing else. The Bohemian dumplings, apparently a matter of taste but it was no different at the neighboring table

Tschechisch Bier und Speisen, natürlich mit Knödel, Herz was willst Du mehr. Die Portionen sind etwas klein, ein wenig mehr Fleisch wäre angebracht.

Gute Auswahl an Gerichten und alles frisch Zubereitet uns und hat es geschmeckt, hatten alles was anderes.

Sehr gutes Essen, Ambiente zwar in die Jahre gekommen, aber alles sehr sauber! Auf den Toiletten hängt sogar ein Kindersitz. Das habe ich noch nie gesehen, aber sehr gute Idee.

Mit Abstand das leckerste, was ich seit langer Zeit gegessen habe. Toller Service, Toller Geschmack - was möchte man mehr?

Selbst bei Familienfeiern mit 25 Personen einfach klasse , es wird auf Kundenwünsche eingegangen und der Service war auch klasse

Sehr gutes Böhmisches Essen, freundliche und authentische Betreiber. Das Bier ist auch sehr gut - sollte man testen wenn man gern Knödel ist. Pommes etc. Gibt's aber auch. ;) Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wor gehen gern hier essen. Das Personal ist sehr nett und das Essen immer lecker. Die Preise sind auch moderat.

Ich wollte heute mal richtig tschechisch essen gehen. Die Kritiken waren ja doch recht zuversichtlich. Meine Idee war szegediner Gulasch und Rindergulasch. Sonntag 12:30 Uhr, der Rindergulasch war noch nicht fertig. Na gut szegediner Gulasch mit Sauerkraut war nicht wirklich original tschechisch und die vier Fleischstückchen haben mich für 14€ auf dem Boden der Realität geholt. Anstelle von Rindergulasch gab's dann gefüllten Kartoffelpuffer mit Tod gebratenen Hähnchen Stückchen ertrinkt im Ketchup, also kein Letscho. Das WLAN Passwort für die Gäste wurde geändert und die Serviererin wusste es nicht....... Alles im allen werde ich dort wohl nicht mehr einkehren. Allerdings wer auf CC Catch in Dauerschleife steht ist hier komplett richtig.

Mittlerweile ganz tolle Gaststätte (etwas dunkel vom Ambiente), lecker Essen, nette Bedienung. Empfehlung meinerseits !

Wir waren heute, wiedermal zum Essen in der Tschechischen Krone anlässlich eines Geburtstages, alle Gäste und einschließlich wir waren begeistert... , das Essen ist super lecker, wird frisch zubereitet und die Bedienung sowie der Koch sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ein Besuch im gemütlichen Lokal ist immer ein Abstecher wert und wir würden uns freuen, wenn wieder viele den Weg dahin finden würden... LG an die Betreiber, wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, versprochen ...

Das Essen hat geschmeckt, trotz leerem Restaurant haben wir sehr lange aufs Essen gewartet.

Es ist immer wieder schön dort zu essen. Es schmeckt wunderbar und einzigartig die tschechische Küche

We wandelen de rennsteig en zochten een restaurant. We kwamen deze tegen waar het leeg was. We werden hartelijk ontvangen met een grote glimlach. Ik vroeg hoe de schnitzel gemaakt wordt en ze was eerlijk dat het gefrituurd wordt. Dat is niet lekker dus ik koos wat anders. De pfeffersteak. Wauw. Wat was dat Heerlijk. Na het diner vroegen we Irish Coffee wat ze niet kende. Maar toen we het uitlegden maakte ze dit meteen en ook direct op de goede manier. Ik beveel dit restaurant aan

Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und sehr einladend. Auch das Personal ist sehr nett. Bezüglich dem essen sind die Preise sehr hoch, dafür das es sehr kleine Portionen sind. Das Essen ist trotzdem sehr lecker.
