Bauernstübchen in Waltershausen

I came from Berlin and wanted to eat at the Bauerstübchen restaurant. I asked beforehand if I could pay with a debit or credit card. The owner immediately became hostile towards me. He said I wasn't in Berlin, that they only pay in cash here. He then launched into a tirade, saying he wanted the Wall back and so on. I left the restaurant. How are foreigners treated if a Berliner is already a no-go for this owner? Customer service = 0 Friendliness = Disaster

Great little inn, a shame about the opening hours but you can understand it.

The food was excellent! Very friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Good value for money.

So the food was really very good. Everything homemade. We found the prices to be a bit expensive in some cases. But most of it was within reason. The schnitzel was amazing and so were the potato pancakes.

Really comfortable. There was Thuringian home cooking (note: the sausages were homemade) for a family celebration and Mediterranean dishes. Simply delicious. The host and waitress were always friendly and the drinks never ran out. Gladly again.

Everything was fine! Highly recommended!

Opening times: whatever you feel like

A very delicious meal. The wild boar roast (dish special) and beef goulash from the regular menu. Apple strudel with Baileys ice cream because they'd run out of vanilla ice cream. Simple decor. Since it wasn't busy, service was very quick.

Yesterday, after a visit to the fish sale in Reinhartsbrunn, the farmer's parlor in the idyllic town of Waltershausen offered us lunch and perfected our trip to the Thuringian Forest. On a Monday. We stood in front of the door, it opened and a friendly young woman welcomed us warmly, immediately pampered us with pots of coffee in beautiful old white porcelain and delicious roulades, red cabbage and dumplings on large, equally beautiful porcelain plates. The innkeeper also chatted with us, confidentially, since it is really difficult to manage everything. We wish you many more guests in this tranquil little town.

The only thing I recommend is the horse roulade; the rest comes from the deep fryer or microwave. The beer is served with sediment. The owner's comment: "Yeast"... well, everyone can judge for themselves. I would only drink from bottles there. It's a shame that Thuringian cuisine is being ruined like this.

The decor was dated, the fuse kept blowing, and we were sitting in semi-darkness. The service was friendly. Small menu. Veal liver with mashed potatoes wasn't available, so I wanted schnitzel with mashed potatoes as a substitute. The chef then came over and said he always makes the mashed potatoes fresh, and since they don't have any liver, there's no mashed potatoes either. The main course was served while we were still eating our appetizer.

Empty restaurant at 12 p.m.? It doesn't work at all!!! Handmade honest food at fair prices! It was a worthy end to our holiday in Thuringia for us. Thanks and all the best to the team! Two Saxons.

Today! Saturday rest day. Something stupid. But it's not my business.

The dumplings were homemade and ok, you almost had to look for the roulade on the plate, the schnitzel is unfortunately a ready meal fried in old fat and the fries were soggy. The service was friendly and polite, but we wouldn't want to eat here again.

Absolutely great! Anyone who likes delicious traditional cuisine must have been here. We discovered the restaurant by chance while passing through! Since then it has been our absolute insider tip! We even plan our trips so that we always stop by there at mealtime. No matter what we've eaten so far, it's just been great! There's also nothing to complain about in terms of service, super friendly and accommodating! Absolute recommendation! Update July 15, 2024 Always a highlight of my trip!! I've been coming here once or twice a year for 8 years now. The operator, the staff and the food are simply great!

So it's very authentic :) The food is honest and tasty the service is friendly and fast (Sunday). We were passing through, if we are on our way back to Berlin we will stop by again :)

Sehr gemütliches Atmosphäre 👍wir waren Touristen auf der Durchreise und das Stübele war geschlossen,geschlossene Gesellschaft und trotzdem hat man uns herein gelassen und bedient .Wer macht das schon 👍soviel Freundlichkeit findet man nur in diesem Stübele 👍Das ganze Personal,Küche und Bedienung fünf Sterne ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️und ein dickes Lob .Wir werden immer wieder da einkehren ,da gibt es die besten ,Thüringer Klöße 👍Macht weiter so ❣️❣️❣️

Super uriges Lokal mit sehr nettem Wirt. Die Speisen sind hausgemacht und sehr lecker. Und das bei sehr moderaten Preisen. Das Bauernstübchen ist absolut zu empfehlen.

Ach das war schön. Wir hatte zwar nur eine Kleinigkeit, aber wir haben auf der Terrasse gesessen , das Wetter, unser Essen und ein Getränk genossen. Sollten wir wieder in der Nähe sein, wäre das "Bauernstübchen" auf jeden Fall eine Option.

Wir sind durch Zufall in dieses Stübchen gelangt. Der Service ist super.😊 Sie waren sehr freundlich, auch gegenüber dem Kind. Es wurde sofort ein Spielzeug gebracht, damit er in der Wartezeit etwas machen konnte. Die Wartezeit war kürzer als gedacht. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist richtig gut. Es war wirklich lecker. Ich kann es nur empfehlen. 🥰

Gute bürgerlich Thüringer Küche mit sehr netter Bedienung. Die Mädels haben alles im Griff. Trotz Pfingstmontag haben wir einen Tisch bekommen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Die Roulade war zäh. Extrem zäh. Wenigstens gab es gratis Kaffee als Entschuldigung

Immer sehr leckeres Essen ,auch Gerichte die man zu Hause eher nicht zubereitet z.B. Pferderoulade aber wirklich sehr lecker und man wird sehr gut bedient.
