Delicious food and very friendly and attentive service

Very nice ambiance and friendly service. We had a salad and schnitzel, one with fries and the other with fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were very greasy and overly thyme-heavy. The salad, at €14.90, is not recommended; elsewhere it would be a side salad.

Overall, it was good, but the kitchen made a lot of mistakes. The meat, which was requested medium rare, was medium at best. The hand-cheese sausage had no cheese at all. The classic ice cream was a whopping vanilla ice cream, without any garnish or topping. In the end, we were completely ignored and had to ask for the bill twice. A drink was on the house because of the inconvenience, but we still have rather bad memories of this culinary evening.

The location is cozy... Unfortunately, the taste is nothing special (13 people, 13 chances = one opinion). Some of the salad leaves aren't very nice. The vegetarian options are way overpriced. Dessert is delicious; €5 would have been appropriate.

The five of us spent a very pleasant, entertaining evening in a cozy atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, the prices reasonable, and the young man who served us was very attentive, funny, and quick-witted. I felt at home and would gladly come back.

We've been here several times and we're always satisfied. We always allow plenty of time for dinner. On the one hand, we always want to have a cozy atmosphere. On the other hand, it can sometimes take a little longer. After all, it's not a snack bar, but rather a nice place to relax.

My favorite in the old town. Decent food at reasonable prices, great service, and a very nice outdoor area. Just a note, the chairs outside are really uncomfortable. You should try them 😉

It looks like its days are numbered here. They simply forgot to include the salad with the schnitzel. The schnitzel and fried potatoes have a real chip shop feel. I was told later, while strolling through the beautiful old town, that locals haven't been going here for a long time.

It used to be really good, but the schnitzel now has the quality of a fast food restaurant. Is it even pan-fried? The breading certainly doesn't look like it. The waitresses are at least polite and apologize for the wait.

This podium definitely leads to the abyss. The boss was nasty and very unfriendly. On the third question: "Could we please have some bread up front?" Her answer was abysmal. There's definitely no second chance for that first impression. What a pity...! Regards Bread for the starter. Nothing else.

We ordered two drinks and a meal, waited a very long time before the drinks were needed, and the food never arrived. After almost two hours, we asked for the bill because the food hadn't been served. The waitress wanted to charge us for the food that hadn't been brought (fried potato pan for €19.50), not even noticing that our order had been forgotten. We waited in vain not only for the food, but also for an apology. The Spanish restaurant around the corner saved our evening. We definitely cannot recommend this restaurant in the Huttenhof and will visit another restaurant in the future.

A hand cheese starter, followed by salads, one with baked Camembert and one with goat's cheese. The cheese was lukewarm at best, and the salad was sloppy. The waitress didn't comment on this. She preferred to smoke at the table with guests. They brought her the wrong bill, which I didn't notice. As I left, she told me to wait, I hadn't paid enough, and it took a while to sort it out. Not a word of apology or anything, including about the food. Considering the price of almost €60, that's a poor impression. We won't be back.

Crusty Handkäs is a must & the wild boar sausages with apple pieces were the best I've ever had

Great location, food and drinks were delicious. The service was friendly, but overall we waited far too long for our orders (40 minutes for a drink). There's room for improvement here. I'd love to come back, hoping this was an exception.

Food was great overall. Unfortunately, the food only arrived lukewarm and it took about an hour before we were served or until the food arrived. Very unfortunate. Ambience is fine, nicely designed. Too few staff. It took an eternity for the food to arrive, but they were super quick to clear our table.

As always, the food was very good, served quite quickly, the food arrived quite quickly, a place to feel good.

We just wanted to go out for a delicious meal but what came out was just plain naughty. Starting with the food, we waited almost 2 hours for 4 dishes. When the food finally arrived, what awaited us were completely stringy rump steaks, watery fried potatoes and completely burnt schnitzel. The service staff were completely overwhelmed, even with a small number of customers. However, the ambience was surprisingly relatively pleasant. All in all a disastrous evening for €140.

We had dinner here with the family on Boxing Day. It was very busy and the service was friendly, but clearly overwhelmed. We have reordered or reordered some things that were forgotten or brought incorrectly, some of which were not brought even after repeated requests. Unfortunately, we were also disappointed with the taste of the food (mushroom ragout sauce tasted very much like a finished product, schnitzel was hardly or not seasoned at all, fried potatoes were soggy and very fatty, duck was dry and burnt). The biggest disappointment, however, was the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert. It was very greasy and must have obviously been fried in a pan that had not been cleaned beforehand. It tasted salty and like onions, we even found a piece of onion in it. When we pointed this out, they apologized and offered a coffee (but no refund was offered...), but I don't even want to think about what wasn't cleaned properly... Even with a full house, that shouldn't be the case happen!

A nice, rustic restaurant in Hanau's old town serving German cuisine. I had the goose menu with onion soup, goose leg, and Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes). The onion soup was fantastic – very spicy and a bit hot. The goose leg was also good, but a bit dry. The Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes) were delicious – just nothing like a real Kaiserschmarren. Service was always attentive and good. The price/performance ratio was good and reasonable, not too expensive.

We were looking forward to Irene's good food. The table was reserved, but unfortunately it was directly in the draft of the front door. Unfavorable at this time of year. When we asked if we could have another table, we received a harsh "NO!" After 15 minutes the order was taken. We asked for the table to be cleaned. The lady quickly wiped it over and missed half of the stains.... We sat down at the vacant table next door and then even got the large free table to ourselves! The food we ordered along with the drink wasn't there after 1.5 hours. During this time, the two waitresses walked past us several times, at least within sight. Nobody noticed us and the empty table. My husband canceled the order and was told that they were also wondering why the food wasn't there yet. (Uh, yeah, ....) Half-hearted apology and all the drinks! > We mourn the old team “Dietmar - Irene - Rachel”!!! < You'll definitely never see us there again. You can read an official report (2024) about repeated significant deficiencies in industrial hygiene on an MKK website! That speaks for itself.

After 2.5 hours without food, I left because 3 of 12 main courses (we were there with a group) were forgotten and no one contacted us after we asked. It was only when we paid that we found out that the dishes had been forgotten or were not on the order. Since we were there at 6:15 p.m., we just wanted to go home at 8:30 p.m. It's a shame - mistakes can happen, but the situation should have been handled better.

I absolutely cannot understand the reviews here. This load STANDS in the dirt and sticks from top to bottom. I've never been to a "normal" home-style restaurant where it was so disgustingly dirty. The floor is sticky and you can clearly see that a fresh cloth is not used for cleaning. The table was also sticky. But what I have never seen or experienced before are the plates on which you are seriously served your food. The plate has blatant grease stains everywhere and is COMPLETELY greasy. SO DISGUSTINGLY SIMPLE. As a woman who often does the washing up myself, I know: the plate is not clean, dishes from a gastro dishwasher definitely don't look that way. Hygiene is very important here! Judging by the condition of the plate, I suspect that it was washed in extremely dirty dishwater without enough detergent or fresh sponge, nothing more was done to it. These fat residues can even be clearly seen in the photos here on Google and confirm my suspicions. Definitely a case for the health department. Pooh!

Restaurang har en mysig och genuin inredning. Vi var ett sällskap på 12 personer och hade bokat bord. Tyvärr kunde inte personalen hantera och hålla ordning på våra beställningar. Bland annat fick två i sällskapet vänta på sin mat och fick den först när resten av oss var klara. Dessutom var maten allt annat än välsmakande. Fet och bränd!

We were happy to find this place when the rain started. It is not only the perfect shelter, but also very cozy place. We enjoyed being there and drinking tasty home-made lemonades. The atmosphere is very friendly. Highly recommend to visit it.

You sit nicely... service was friendly... drinks were juice and non-alcoholic wheat beer / bottled beer... the wheat beer was not cold, if at all a bit cold and then very poorly poured... unfortunately wheat beer without wheat, which was probably still there in the bottom of the bottle..Food: schnitzel with green sauce and fried potatoes and steak with fried potatoes and side salad..schnitzel and steak top 👍 We couldn't eat the fried potatoes that were completely over salted..Side salad ok, nothing big but just leaf lettuce, a slice of cucumber and a 1/ 4 Tomate is then very careless...Opening times until 10 p.m. From 9 p.m., all the tables outside were cleared, ashtrays were put away, seat cushions were dragged in stacks, all of this right at the table, where you would like to eat in peace...a cozy evening with good food and enjoy the evening without stress, it looks rather different.....The old town in Steinheim has a lot of nice, quiet corners to enjoy a great evening..we will visit these next time...thank you anyway.. .

What a beautiful atmosphere in this restaurant. A wonderful beer garden in the courtyard, the rustic guest room. If only there wasn't this obvious lack of staff... The troops are trying hard, but are hopelessly overwhelmed. When we arrived they were still trying not to occupy the upper part of the beer garden. That's why we took a seat inside. A short time later everything was open and somehow there was no more land in sight. Inside you could see the hustle and bustle in the kitchen and service up close. We placed our first order relatively quickly. It was not possible to reorder as there were still too many orders to process. An answer like that is unique. It doesn't help that the venison bratwurst was quite tasty, although the promised hand cheese wasn't to be found on the plate, but overall the food was remarkably good. Maybe you should just think about whether less can sometimes be more.

Nice to sit in, located in a large yard. The food is good and tastes good. The waitress is stressed despite the full house. But she doesn't let the guest notice this and takes care of their requests immediately. Compliment.

An inner courtyard worth seeing, in the middle of Steinheim's old town. Everything seemed inviting and beautiful. The service was friendly and quick. The portions were generous. We ate outside and felt very comfortable. It was also rustic and chic inside.

While we were looking forward to the delicious Königschnitzel, we were unfortunately very disappointed today. When we got to the podium, we were greeted so rudely and unfriendly that we lost our appetite. Sorry, but you can't treat guests like that.

Now I know again what 5-day-old bread, wilted minimalist salad and fatty sauce taste like. The nice service couldn't help it.

Salat war alt und verwelkt. Eine durchgeschnittene Tomatenscheibe drauf und etwa 3 Streifen Paprika. Das wird dann als gemischter Salat verkauft. Öl und Essig war eine undefinierbare mayoartige Flüssigkeit und lt. Bedienung deren etwas anderes Verständnis von Öl und Essig. 3 Scheiben Weißbrot labbrig angebraten in Fett dazu. Handkäs war bedeckt von einer fettigen Fertigssoße. Das Brot dazu mindestens 5 Tage alt. So schlechtes Essen habe ich seit Jahren nicht bekommen. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und die Situation echt unangenehm, hat mir wirklich leid getan. Aber ich konnte das echt nicht essen.

We had reserved a table for 4 people for Sunday evening, 7 p.m. When we arrived there were only two other tables occupied and we were free to choose our table. The waitress was attentive and took our order. We didn't have to wait long for the food, it came pretty quickly. When we wanted a Kaiserschmarren for dessert around 8:20 p.m., we were told the kitchen was just finishing work. By now only one other table was occupied. We ordered another round of drinks a little later. At this point we were already the only guests. The drinks were brought and we were asked if we could then collect, the waitress was then off work. Of course we could drink in peace, what?! The service left around 9 p.m. and someone else took over the counter. At 9:15 p.m. the music was turned off, which was tantamount to asking people to leave. We left the restaurant at 9:40 p.m. with a very bad aftertaste. We were looking forward to a nice evening with friends and were practically escorted out the door, even though the opening time on Sundays is 11 p.m. Yes, we were the only guests and no further big sales were expected, but all of this shows very bad style! Since the female waiter was attentive and friendly, we still give it 3 stars, but the subsequent treatment didn't deserve a single one!

Leckeres Essen, schönes Ambiente

Wir waren gestern spontan dort und waren von der Lokation positiv überrascht, wunderschön mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und sehr gut am Gast. Das Essen, 3x Rumpsteak 1x Huttenhofpfanne oderso, war echt lecker und die Steaks hatten alle den bestellten Gargrad. Macht weiter so wir kommen wieder.

Super leckeres Schnitzel, Service gut, Ambiente auch gut. Leider war es mir zu kalt, anscheinend noch keine Heizung an. Kommen aber gerne wieder, dann mit dickem Pullover.

Im Hof kann man sehr schön sitzen und es ist sehr gemütlich. Wir waren nicht das letzte Mal hier, sehr zu empfehlen.

Waren spontan da und haben super gegessen , ich esse gerne Sachen die ich selber nicht koche daher Handkäseknödel mit grüner Soße gegessen mit mega Beilagensalat dazu .... Noch nie auf einer Karte gesehen und bis dato gegessen , wer so etwas mag unbedingt probieren ,wir haben draussen gesessen was sehr schön war, es waren Schirme aufgespannt und der Platz war mit Holzstühle/Tische , halt etwas urig, ruhig einfach um zu entspannen.

Perfekter Besuch mit netten Service, lecker Essen und gemütliches Ambiente und das trotz bevorstehendem Küchenschluß.

Food quality is average. Considered good when hunger creeps up and for the lack of surrounding options. The service is also average but the atmosphere makes up for that! I would recommend the chef's salad as well as the ice cream deserts. Our children fancied the ambience and were generally satisfied by the food selection, which is mainly geared towards kids. We noticed some competition among the serving staff and an error that saw our 10 year old get a different burger, with little involvement from the restaurant manager to remedy the situation - that was disappointing. I do hope that the service is improved as we may visit the Center Park again next summer.

Leckeres hessisches Essen in schönem Ambiente in der Steinheimer Altstadt. Zu empfehlen sind auf jeden Fall die Schnitzel, die grüne Soße und definitiv der Handkäs! Bedienung war freundlich und konnte mit unserer Gruppe von knapp 15 Leuten gut umgehen. Leider gab es eine Doppelbuchung, eine andere große Gruppe wurde versehentlich zu uns eingebucht, bekam dem schöneren Tisch und vor uns das Essen, was unsere Wartezeit unnötig verlängert hat.

Essen und Trinken in einem sehr schönen Ambiente. Im Sommer sitzt man in einem schönen Hof, überall grünt es und die Vögel zwitschern. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet und die Bedienung stets freundlich und aufmerksam.

Wir waren hier gestern Abend Essen. Alles sehr lecker und gut. Nur leider hat das Lokal um 22.00 Uhr geschlossen. Ich wäre gerne noch auf ein Bierchen geblieben...

Deutlich zu teuer für das was geboten wird. Die Bedienungen wollen unbedingt nur große Getränke ausschenken, obwohl auch kleine auf der Speisekarte stehen… wenn man was kleines bestellt, versucht die Bedienung einen zu einem großen Getränk zu überreden, mehrfach! Einfach nervig. 14€ für einen einfachen Salat ohne alles. Da bekomme ich ein paar Meter nebenan fast 2 für! Auch ein einfaches Schnitzel ist mit 16€ deutlich zu teuer für das, was dann auf dem Teller landet. Auf dem Boden lag Glas, die Tische waren klebrig. Mich sieht man hier nicht nochmal.

Zum Essen kann ich nichts sagen sind zum trinken eingekehrt. Ein sehr gemütliches Restaurant in einem idyllischen Ort, der zwar klein ist aber sehr schöne Altbauten hat. Wir haben das Ganze mit einem kleinen Spaziergang und Besichtigung der Kirche verbunden. Ambiente draußen ist auch Urig und gepflegt. Direkt neben an gibt es noch einen Irish Pup. Wir haben draußen gesessen und da es kein Kuchen als Dessert gab, haben wir neben an bestellt und wurden trotz anderem Sitzplatz bedient. Eine schöne Stelle zum einkehren wenn man in der Nähe von Hanau etwas ruhigere sucht.

Essen war sehr viel , Geschmack war gut. Bedienung freundlich und wir durften uns auch umsetzen als die Sonne unseren Tisch erreichte . Kommen garantiert wieder.

Nettes, Uriges Lokal im Herzen der Steinheimer Altstadt. Mit regionalen Gerichten wie Handkäs oder Grüner Soße lässt es sich hier sehr schön verweilen. Auch gut vom Main aus zu erreichen. Abends gibt es zur Happy-Hour alle Cocktails für 8€!

Mit der Rezension tue ich mich schwer - wären eigentlich nur Max. 3 Sterne geworden. Das Restaurant ist nett und gemütlich, der Service empfängt einen freundlich und die Speisekarte hat eine gute Auswahl. Leider mussten wir über 1 1/2 Stunden auf unser Essen warten - das empfinde ich trotz vollem Restaurant als deutlich zu lang. Dazu war dann noch bald das beworbene Kellerbier alle - was die Wartezeit nicht gerade besser machte. Beim Kaiserschnitzel fehlte mir der in der Speisekarte angepriesene „herzhafte Käse“ (siehe auch Foto) - nach der langen Wartezeit wollte ich mich aber auch nicht beschweren oder es zurück geben. Alles in allem hatten wir nicht das allerbeste Erlebnis in diesem Restaurant. Da das Essen nicht ganz schlecht war und der Service bemüht gebe ich dann doch vier Sterne aber aus meiner Sicht gibt es hier einiges an Verbesserungspotential.

We had a very kind server named Angel who took care of us. Definitely try the hand cheese, the Apfelwine, and the pork schnitzel. This is the off road trip that will make your Germany experience feel authentic.

Nette Bedienungen, gemütliches Ambiente. Alle sehr zuvorkommend . Aber das Wichtigste: das Essen ist super lecker. Kevin hat die Küche im Griff und das Kochen im Blut. Ein Besuch zum Essen hier lohnt sich richtig und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir waren Anfang des Monats aufgrund einer Empfehlung dort essen und waren von der Qualität und dem Geschmack des Essens beeindruckt. Herr Balazs hat uns sehr sympathisch und individuell beraten. Man spürt die Liebe zum Beruf wirklich noch bei diesem Koch. Gerne wieder!

Zum Geburtstag mal ein Essen im Treppchen gegönnt. Es war unfassbar lecker. Ein wahrer Gaumgasmus. Kevin ist ein Gott in der Küche 🤗 24 Stunden später liegt der Geschmack noch immer auf der Zunge. Gerne immer wieder! Der Service ist freundlich und zuvorkommend. Preis Leistung ist super.

Eine super leckeres Restaurant. Das Ambiente ist innen sowie außen sehr ansprechend. Die Bedienung ist sehr herzlich und das Essen hat und allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Restaurant verfügt über einen Biergarten und liegt in einem Hof. Wer gut bürgerliches Essen mag, ist hier genau richtig! Und die Portionen waren der Hammer! Preis-Leistung ist sehr gut. Zudem befindet sich in dem Restaurant eine moderne Cocktailbar. Wer also nicht so gerne nur Bier und Wein trinken möchte, bestellt einfach einen Cocktail.
